I look up at him and he nods, “Fair enough and I will get the paperwork sorted out for the flat and this house.” He runs a finger over my lips and I open them for him and his mouth is soon devouring mine.

When we walk through the door to Lara's room at the hospital, Noah's parents are there and I notice his mother looking at our joined hands but she doesn't say anything. She comes over and hugs Noah and then me. Noah's dad comes over and shakes his hand and says, “It's good to see you Peppa.”

We all make small talk, asking how each other are doing and getting the update on how Lara is. Noah asks his parents if they would like a cup of tea so I can visit with Lara for a bit and thankfully they agree to go. I watch as they leave the room and then turn to face Lara. “I'm sorry Peppa, I'm so sorry.”

I walk over to a chair and sit. “Noah told me what the police said, I’m sorry he did that to you but I can't believe you fell for it again.” I watch the tears roll down her face and she reaches for a tissues but I can see it causes her pain, so I walk over and hand one to her.

She looks at me and says, “Thanks, I'm not going to lie, a part of me still loves him and yes, I know it's stupid, but I'm never going there again, not after finding out he has a child. I'm lucky he didn't kill me.”

I take her hand and squeeze it. “If it makes things easier you can have the flat, I'm going to live with your brother.”

She nods, “Thanks Peppa. After everything, I wouldn't blame you if you turned your back on me, I really am sorry for everything.”

I pat her hand and head back to sit on the chair, “Since you have been honest with me, I will be with you. Noah has offered to buy your half of the business and I’m tempted to say yes.” She opens her mouth to speak but I don't let her say what she wants to. “But if you do decide to come back to work, you have to pull your weight and work the same hours I do.” She doesn't say anything at first and I don't either because I'm waiting to hear what she has to say.

She looks over at me, “I can do that.”

Noah makes his appearance as he walks through the door without his parents and he looks at us both with a raised eyebrow. “Everything ok in here?”

I stand and walk over to him and turn back to Lara, “Yes, we are ok. Lara has decided to come back to work when she is fit enough.”

Noah puts his arm around my shoulder and kisses my cheek. Lara yawns and Noah decides it's time to leave. As I’m about to walk out the door Lara shout's to me and I turn back to her, “Thanks again Peppa. I won't let you down.”

I nod at her and leave. That night Noah tells me he told his parents about us. He said they were surprised, but told him if he was happy then they were.

Have fun.” And he leaves the room.
