“Come on
, hop in. I’ll drive you to your car and you can use my credit card.”

“Thanks
, dude. I’ll pay you as soon my account gets reactivated back.” I lied to him, but that was my only option to save my pride. I felt bad, real bad.

“Leave
it, man, I owe you much more than this. Anyways, how’s your boxing going, dude? After you found that girl, you just forgot me for good. I miss those old days when we went out to fuck girls and drink lots of JD.” He chuckled.

“Me too
, dude, but I don’t miss those pussies any more. I think I’m settled now.” That was another lie. I was anything but settled in my life. How could you be settled when you don’t have money in your bank account?

“Are you in
a relationship, man? Are you going to propose to her? What about your boxing career?”

“It looks dead from my side and no
, I’m not proposing her. I already married her few days back in Vegas.”

“Hmm, you naughty
boy. Wedding in Vegas.” He hit my shoulder while driving.

A f
ew minutes later, my car was full with gas and I was ready to roll back. “Thanks for the gas, man. Come overcome day for dinner.” I waved good-bye to James.

“Sure
, buddy, but not tonight. I have an extra hot date tonight.” He winked and drove away.

My car was full with
gas, but my heart was full with shame. I regretted asking James for the gas. The complete failure to get money for the basic uses was troubling me more than anything.
Why did she have to use my card? And why didn’t she check with me.
My head was bursting with anger. Because of Eva, I’d to beg in front of my friend. I never took any help from anyone.

***

“What the fuck did you did with my credit card.” Eva was watching TV when I entered the apartment.

She looked at me with surprise. “What happened?”

“Don’t you listen to me, lady?” My anger was increasing every second. ”I asked what you bought with my credit card.” I could feel my blood heating up rapidly.

“I don’t remember
, Nathan. Did I shop?” She was acting like she was innocent.

“What a
bluff, Eva. You spent few thousand bucks on my credit card and you don’t even remember it?” I gave her a shitty looks. She was lying and even a child could guess that very easily.

“No
, Nathan, I don’t remember. I was down with half of this.” She pointed to an almost empty J.D. bottle. “I just remember asking for your credit card for pizza. Mine wasn’t working and it seems that it will never work again. My mom terminated it.” She started sobbing.

What did
I do?
I closed gap between us.“Hey, baby what happened? Hey, I’m sorry for whatever I said. Please don’t cry.” Hopeless, I was; I couldn’t even find a way to stop her from crying. My anger vanished in the blink of second. I was more concerned about her crying.

“My mother...” Her words vanished in her sob.

“What about your mother?”

She sobbed again. “She
canceled my credit cards and cursed me yesterday and then you were busy with work. What could I do, Nathan?” She made a darn sad face. I couldn’t control kissing her.

“I’m so sorry
, babe. I didn’t know that. Please forgive me and stop crying,” I pleaded with her. The pieces fell back together for me. She must have done it with some bad influence.

“Do you even talk with me
, Nathan?” She took a deep sob.“She asked me to move to Canada and I declined that to stay here with you. I want to live with you, Nathan.” She hugged me tightly.

“I’m so sorry
, babe. I just don’t know what got into me. Please forgive me. I didn’t want to be mad at you.” My hands moved on her back to console her.

After
a few minutes she controlled herself. “It’s okay, babe. I was under so much stress from yesterday. But now I don’t feel anything about it, because you are with me, sweetheart, and we will make this world beautiful for us.” She kissed me on my neck.

I was falling deep into the valley of guilt.
I just hurt my own love over a few thousand bucks.
Damn, how am I going to get over this guilt? How am I going to fulfill the dreams of my wife? Am I a complete loser? What if Eva wants more than this?
I couldn’t blame her for spending a few thousand dollars. She was used to it and she did the same with my credit card. As a wife, she had the right to use my credit card for her shopping. She was just so depressed that she used my card.
How could I just talk like this with her?

Minutes passed and she continued crying on my shoulder.

Chapter 14

Eva

“Nathan, I want to talk to you about the scholarship.” I was panting, sweating like a an animal and talking like an twelve-year-old because I just had a half-hour long running training. And it was my first day back training.

From the moment
I woke up in the morning, I knew this was the day to start my training. The day just had that kind of feel-good factor. Morning breeze, dry weather and few romantic songs on my iPod; everything was calling me to run. Months ago, I ran my last race and after that I hadn’t even practice for fifteen minutes. When I looked at my tummy this morning, I could see some thick skin around my belly. It was time to get training. There was no way I could get fat like this. But the session proved to be heavy on my lungs. My legs were hurting, and my lungs were screaming for oxygen.

“Did you go for a run?” Nathan gazed me with amusement.

“Yes.”

“That’s impressive. The best exercise
I got in last month was the sex between us.” He gave me a smirk.

“What about punching that bag
that you did a couple of days back?” I still got shivers after remembering his bloody hands again.

“That was just
to pass some time. Anyways, what is it that you want to talk with me about so early morning?” He turned back to shaving.

“What do you think about the scholarship? Should
I take it? Or find some job?”

“What
did Chloe say about it?”

“I’m asking your opinion
, babe. What does it have to do with Chloe? Your opinion matters most to me.”

“Well, I’m not sure. What is she going to do after college?”

“Well, it’s only a month left. After that I don’t know what she is going to do. Maybe take job.” I was so clueless about Chloe. I felt bad; she was my best friend and I had never ever asked her about life after college. We always pretended that we would be living together till eternity. “What’s your opinion, Nathan? What would you do if you were in my place?”

“I don’t think
about hypothetical cases. But yes, I’m not right person to give you any advice. I’m sorry for that.” He didn’t even look at me once.

“Stop being
an ass. Give it to me straight.”

He looked at me with wounded eyes. “Because
that was when I left college. I got married and got a job. I didn’t even care about what I liked back then.”

His wound opened in front of my eyes and blood shattered everywhere. His pretty old
wound.
Why the heck am I seeing blood everywhere?
I shake my imagination. “I’m sorry babe, I didn’t mean to open any wound of your past.” I walked to him and held him from behind. “I just wanted to check with you if you are okay with me doing more school.”

“Yes
, babe. I’ll support you no matter what. I just want you to follow your heart. If it is running, then go for it.”

His warmness filled my body. He didn’t say anything, but him being there for me calmed my heart.
I was ready for the leap of faith. “And I’m so sorry for your car incident.” When he busted on me last night, I didn’t know the reason behind it first, but then he explained everything to me. How I exhausted his credit card and how he ended up taking help from someone else. Sadness and guilt filled my heart when I heard his part of the story. Because of my foolishness he suffered a lot. I should have been more careful with his card.

“Babe, I’m going to college and I’ll go by bus.”

“You can take my car. I already filled it with gas yesterday.”

“No, you might need it. I’ll catch a bus.”
I didn’t want his car. His card was already overused and he didn’t have much cash in his bank account left until the next payment from his client.

“Are you sure? The card company said they w
ould give me an extra limit this time.”

“It’s okay
, babe. I’ve a direct bus from here.” I kissed his cheek, though it still had some shaving cream on it. The manly smell of his shaving cream filled my lungs. His skin was so soft after the recent shave. I smelled it slowly.

“Don’t eat that.” He
chuckled and pushed me away.

I giggled back. “I’m running late
, otherwise I would have tasted that cream thoroughly.”

Nathan

My heart shattered in pieces when she said she could go by bus. I had no money to buy her a car, but that didn’t mean I had lost my love for her. As the man in her life, it was my duty to take care of her and give her whatever she wanted. I tried it with Samantha as well, I tried my best to give her everything, but she never had enough. If it was Samantha in place of Eva, she would have taken my car. But Eva was different. Her heart was made of butter and she understood my condition.

No
I can’t let her go by bus. I have to buy a car for her. But how?

I punched hard on the wall in front of me.
I was supposed to take care of her every need, but I was failing hard. The current client would be paying me but I had a home to run, groceries to shop for and bills to pay with that money. How would I fit her car in that budget? It just couldn’t fit in those few thousand bucks.

Sh
ould I sell something?
glanced at my workroom. There was a treadmill and some machinery lying dormant, unused.
Yes, I can sell that easily and get a car for her. “
Yes, I’ll sell that and get a car for my sweetheart.”

“What are you selling
, sweetheart?” Eva came out of bathroom with wet hair. She was just wearing a panty and a lace bra. Water drops covered her bare skin. She looked like an angel just coming out of the water.
Damn hot.
Her belly had a slight trace of fat around it, but her body looked sexier than ever. I jumped ahead and pulled her in my arms. In my mind, I already had undone her bra and kissed those perky breasts.

“I love you
, babe, and each day more.” I lifted her in my hands and walked to bedroom.

“Not now
, Nathan. I’ve a class to attend and the bus will take forever,” she said.

“Later. I’ll drop you by my car. Right now,
I want to suck the droplets off your body.” I kissed her cheeks.

She kissed me back on my cheek. “Somebody is in
such of a mood. Thank God I’m off these days.” She winked.

Eva

I couldn’t believe the force he lifted me with in a blink of seconds. His biceps tightened to support my weight. Veins on them popped out. I wanted to lick and taste them.

He slowly put me on the bed and stared in
to my eyes with such animosity. He was always like that, soft outside and an animal in bed. He caressed my face with his thumb, like he was memorizing it. Ripples shot across my body, shooting from his thumb to my core as he caressed my face again and again, all the time watching me with his dark, breathtaking, seductive eyes.

“You don’t know what I’m feeling about you right now
, babe,” he whispered in a soft voice. His touch, his voice all echoed in my body like a heavenly sound.

“Then tell me
, babe.” I couldn’t recognize my own sound. It changed a lot by the arousal he was igniting in my body.

“I can play a thousand songs to you, but then also
I can’t express my feelings to you.” He pressed my mouth with his, licking my tongue inside. Then he withdrew it.

Raw need streaked inside my bloodstream, my nerves, my bones, wanting him and his touch.

I whimpered when he stroked my upper lip with his index finger and then the lower one, slowly and gently. I tried to kiss his finger, but he quickly withdrew it. My heart, my sex and my beaded nipples ached in response. He held my face in his palms and then adjusted his lips on mine slowly as he drew my tongue into his mouth, sucking strongly on me.

I moaned and gripped his shoulders over his shirt with my nails. “I want to feel your skin.”

“Sure, babe,” he groaned, and in a second removed his shirt from his body. His bare muscles, his brown nipples and six pack abs; I couldn’t grasp harder than I did. I wanted to suck everything; I wanted to suck him inside me.
