Cam’s eyes shone as his smile grew, and with slicked fingers, he prepped me quickly.

Drawing my legs up, Cam pushed the head of his cock slowly into me. It had been a while since we’d made love, and my ass stretched and burned with the intrusion. I loved it.

We never lost eye contact.

Cam pumped his thick cock into me with sure, steady strokes, and my skin tingled all over with a sensation I hadn’t felt for too long.

Home.

This was what home felt like, and I’d missed it desperately. Cam above me, inside me, loving me. Cam’s eyes glimmered with love and warmth, and I knew he saw the same reflected back at him.

Cam’s hips pumped harder and faster. Gripping my cock, he pulled it in time with his thrusts. I knew I wasn’t going to last as my spine tingled and my toes curled with my impending orgasm. I couldn’t hold back any longer, and I fell over the edge as my orgasm raced through me. Cam fucked me through it and as I spurted high on my chest, Cam’s eyes never left mine. His hips stuttered and he roared my name as he filled my ass.

Cam collapsed on top of me, and we breathed in sync as we came down from our orgasm-induced high.

“I love you, Jake… so much.” Cam whispered against my neck, his body shaking.

I wrapped my arms around his sweaty back and let my legs drop, his softened prick slipping from my ass.

“I love you too, Romeo… I’m home now,” I whispered as I took in his familiar scent, a tear making its way down my cheek.

Cameron was my home.

Aunt Cece went on to make a full recovery but complained loudly about the new diet and exercise regime she had to follow. Brenda encouraged her and also followed the plan. It was the only way Brenda knew how to keep Cece on the diet. Cece often complained that Brenda was a bit of a tyrant when it came to their food and wine intake, but they both glowed with newfound health.

My life with Cam returned to normal—or a
new
normal. We shared everything, and even though we’d had no secrets before, we now had an even more open dialogue. I would come home and complain about a difficult client, and Cam would tell me about some of the firehouse stories. He always told me when he’d been called out to a bad accident, his new way of dealing with the images in his head. I helped him heal, and he helped me learn to trust again.

Sunday picnics had become the norm, weather permitting, and by silent agreement, they were our time to talk. As we lay on a blanket under the shade of a large tree, holding hands, we’d tell each other everything. Jake told me more about the time he had dated Luke and I told him how I thought Mason was secretly in love with Brandon. Only time would tell with them. Brandon was straight, but I could tell he loved Mason like a brother. I only hoped Mason didn’t get his heart broken.

I talked about Kris, and even though it had been a sore subject to begin with, Jake eventually accepted that Kris wasn’t the bad guy he’d once thought. Kris had made an error in judgment the one and only time he kissed me, and at the time, my judgment wasn’t so crash hot either. Jake recognized it for the mistake it was and accepted Kris as my friend and trusted colleague.

It was mid-fall and an unusually warm day for this time of year, and Jake suggested we have our picnic a day early, in case the weather didn’t hold until tomorrow.

We arrived at Golden Gate Park and sat under
our
tree. Jake pulled out containers of olives, cheese, crackers, and fruit while I poured the wine. He seemed a little tense, which had me on edge. This was our talking time, and I could only imagine that he had some bad news but didn’t know how to tell me.

We ate in near silence as Jake fiddled with the wine opener, plucked at the blades of grass, and twitched nervously.

“What is it, babe?” I asked, anxious myself.

“Am I that obvious?”

“Yes, you’re scaring me. What’s going on?” My heart pounded. We had been so good for a while now, and I dreaded what was going through Jake’s head.

“Come here.” Jake stood and grabbed my hand, pulling me to stand with him. A jittery smile played at his lips.

He led me out from under the shade, and the sun’s warmth was comforting on my shoulders as it heated my skin. But I was still confused about what was going on.

Jake held my hand.

And got down on one knee.

My stomach flew into my throat, which was surprising—I thought the amount of butterflies that were in there would’ve weighed it down. My palms were sweaty and I couldn’t have kept the grin off my face if my life depended on it.

Jake looked up at me, and those piercing blue eyes that I had fallen in love with ten years ago were full of devotion, adoration… and nerves.

“I… I don’t know how to do this,” he muttered, dropping his head.

I got down on my knees with him and cradled his face in my hands. Lifting it to mine, I brushed my lips carefully over his. “Does this help?”

“Not really,” he chuckled.

“Would it help if I told you my answer?” Our eyes met and held, the emotion in mine reflected back at me in Jake’s unwavering gaze.

“No, I want to do this. There’s so much I want to tell you, I just…” Jake trailed off, but before I could say something to ease his nerves, he continued. “I love you, Cameron Cooper. I always have. Even at our lowest point, I never stopped loving you. I’m sorry I ran and I wasn’t stronger for you, for us…” He held up a hand to stop me from interrupting. “I’ve loved you since our first night together, and I plan to keep loving you until the last breath leaves my body. You’re my everything, and I not only
want
to spend the rest of my life with you, I
need
to.

“The last few months made me realize I’m not me without you. Without you, I can’t breathe. I can’t live without my heart, and you have my whole heart. For my whole life.”

Jake rubbed his thumb over my cheek, catching a tear. A small smile lit his eyes from within as he reached into his pocket and produced the jewelry box that had remained in his bedside drawer. Not bothering to wipe his own eyes, he picked up the blue wedding band. It sparkled as the sun caught the color.

“Will you marry me?”

I had known what he was going to ask as soon as he got down on one knee, but I had no idea hearing the words would be such a hit to the heart. A deep, soul-wrenching love and feeling of belonging followed soon after. Jake wriggled the platinum and blue band onto my left ring finger, dipped his head, and kissed the ring. My tears flowed and a large lump made itself at home in my throat, cutting off my voice. I threw myself into his arms, knocking us over, and I landed on top of him with a thud.

“Ugh. I take it that’s a ‘yes’?”

“Holy shit, babe,” I managed to breathe. “Yes! Yes! Yes!” I blurted before kissing him again and again and again.

About the Author

I started as a reader and eventually made the progression to reviewing. It wasn't until two men pop into my thoughts, insisting on telling me their story that I started to write. It started with one scene. A hot and dirty one in the shower.

My initial thought was if I could write their scene then they'd shut up and allow me to concentrate on other aspects of my day. That shower scene was 3000 words long and three hours of work.  But they didn't shut up.  They told me their entire story and I didn't sleep for days.  Sometimes I couldn't keep up with what they were telling me and I had to keep a notebook by my bed.

Whilst I was writing their story a side character decided he needed his story told too. Then other characters followed suit.

You see the problem? If I ever want to sleep again then I need to write.

I'm a wife and a mother to two boys. Even my dog is a boy.

I am surrounded by males.
