     He said ‘‘laters!!’’

Flavio could think of nothing else but, Geli.  Was he in love with her?  He couldn’t quite put his finger on it but, all he did know was that he was very attracted to her.  He decided to pop by the salon and ask her out for a meal.  He spotted Tiko waving at her through the salon window and felt a surge of jealousy rush through him.  It was too late, she was already taken.  He wasn’t going to make a fool of himself.  He would have to control the urge to tell her how he felt.

Geli was beginning to get impatient, surely the potion should have worked by now and she had heard nothing from Flavio.
Niente
!

Geli gathered up her little fairy satchel and took the fairy bus home.  She had experienced a long tiring day and was too tired to walk or even to fly.  Her wings felt heavy.  She couldn’t believe her eyes when she reached her fairy home as Tiko sat there waiting for her clutching a bouquet of flowers.

‘‘I am in love with you’’ he declared ‘‘will you do me the honour….’’

Geli stopped him mid-sentence thinking ‘as if! This fairy is just not my type!’

‘‘Sorry’’ she said ‘‘I like you as a friend but, that is it! My heart lies with another!’’

Tiko began to cry fairy tears.

    ‘
Mio Dio
- Oh my God!’ thought Geli ‘I will have to go back and see the white witch.  This fairy is in love with me and all he had was a tiny bit of a red hot chilli pepper.

Why do things never go to plan?  Ever!’

She rang Olive on her fairy cell screaming ‘‘help!  It has all gone terribly wrong!  Tiko is in love with me and I only want Flavio.’’

She looked around and saw that Flavio was standing close by, skulking in the shadows of the olive tree listening to every word.

Flavio wondered what was going on?  Did Geli want him?  He had heard her say she wanted him.  He watched as Geli took flight, she just flew away right in front of his eyes.  He assumed she was going to see someone who was going to help her by the sound of her frantic call.  What did she mean?  All gone terribly wrong?  He felt the stirrings of passion just watching her scared little fairy face in flight.  Maybe, he should follow her, she looked like she needed help.  He watched as she flew into the olive tree field where Olive lived.  He watched as Olive came running out, hugging her, telling her it would all be alright.  She would phone her
papa
and he would take them back to see Lizzy.

Lizzy once again was waiting for them when the sky car landed in her drive.  She was carrying a plate of cakes.  She told Geli to just give her un-intended a cake and the spell would be broken.  Geli could not thank the fairy witch enough.  She began to wish she had left things well alone….

Flavio watched it all.  He followed them back to the Martino olive field where they all lived.  It had been a long flight for him.  His wings were tired, he needed to rest but, first he had to watch and see what the fairies planned next.  He saw Tiko arrive to see Geli thinking they must be dating.  He felt heart-broken!

Geli invited Tiko into her abode.  Olive sat on the settee watching.  She had made them all a lovely cup of English tea.  Olive offered Tiko a cup, she poured it into a delicate bone china tea cup which had come all the way from England.  Geli quickly offered him a cake saying they had things to discuss.  It was the best tea and cake Tiko had ever tasted.

Tiko felt a wash of emotion rush through his fairy body, it was as if something had lifted out of him.  He couldn’t even remember why he was there sitting in Geli’s apartment.  What was going on?  Where were Miki and Gerlando?

He made his excuses and said he had to leave ‘‘thanks for the tea and cake, they were delicious’’ he said.

Flavio watched it all feeling emotions of jealousy and unrest.  He knocked on Geli’s door.  As she opened it he saw Olive sitting on the settee sipping a cup of tea.  Geli invited him in and in a moment’s hesitation she offered him a cup of tea and a cake thinking to herself that sometimes it is best to let love work its own magic.  Olive nodded her head in approval thinking destiny prevails, what will be, will be……

Flavio felt a wash of emotion wash through him.  He somehow felt lighter as he made his way home.  He felt confused as to what had happened but, he still felt that little flutter of attraction for Geli.  He decided right then and there that he would invite her out for a spot of dancing and see if there could be anything between them.

Olive took Geli in her arms and hugged her tight as she left saying ‘‘remember our lives are pre-destined, if Flavio is the one for you, he will be back.’’

Geli knew that she was right and felt happy inside to know that from now on she would not force anything.

She was surprised half an hour later to see Flavio was making his way towards her door once more.  He held a bouquet of red roses in his hand.  He told her that he thought she was the most beautiful, stunning fairy he had ever laid eyes on and that he would be honoured if she would come dancing with him.

She smiled to herself as she took the flowers knowing that if it was true love, it would be real.

A big lesson was learnt this day.  Do not try and force things, bide your time and in the end, everything comes to those who wait.  Destiny prevails……

CHAPTER 12

HOLLYWOOD - THE FAIRIES ARRIVE IN LA

Luna was having a red carpet event in Hollywood.  It was the opening of his new block-buster movie ‘Robertus - the Roman Centurion.’

He wanted all his family plus a few friends to attend.  He was going to send his private jet to pick them up, he had arranged for them to stay in the best hotel in LA ‘The Fairy Hilton’ for the first couple of days as he had the film crew in his mansion.  His family and friends deserved the best, there was nothing they didn’t deserve.

    He reminisced how his
papi
had experienced such a hard time accepting he was gay but, now it was a completely different story.  All it took was acceptance!  His eyes and heart had been opened to the fact that not everyone in this world is the same.  We are all born to be who we are meant to be, it is our Destiny.  His mother’s Destiny was to come to Salento that very summer, to be on the beach at the same time that his
papi
was flying by.

It was their destiny to have three children and for one of them to be the Chosen One.

    ‘Destiny prevails all’ he thought.

He sent invitations out to his
mamma
and
papi
, Dandy’s
mamma
and
papa
, Olive, Willow, Sunshine, Rainbow and Speranza.  Everyone was beyond excited.  He decided to leave Johnnie out after the Grand Canyon fiasco!  Dandy thought this was a good time for everyone to bond further with his parents as they hadn’t met up since the wedding in Las Vegas.  Dana and Federico were quite cool fairies.

The first two days were going to be all about exploring LA and the fairies couldn’t wait.  They had seen the strip on the television with all its shops and wanted to explore the famous land-marks of Hollywood.  Maybe they would be able to visit the film studios and even take the coach trip that showed you the homes of famous fairies.

    ‘Exciting or what?’ they thought.

They were all up bright and early the next day, maps in hand.  They decided to arrange a meeting place just in case someone got lost but, for the time being, they would remain together if at all possible.  They made their way to get a cab and asked the driver the best places for tourists to visit.  They were told that Hollywood walk of Fame was just not to be missed.

There was a little rumor that Luna might even have a star laid there one day.  A star in recognition of his acting ability!  Can you believe it?  Luna and Dandy had become famous in Hollywood for their generosity to charity.  They helped out in soup kitchens, nothing was too much for them, nothing!  A star would be such recognition, how fabulous.

The driver dropped them at the Hollywood Walk of Fame.  The sidewalks were embedded with more than 2,500 five pointed terrazzo and brass stars, they looked amazing.  It was unreal walking past these stars and imagining that you were there when the famous fairies unveiled them, so surreal!

It was all too much, so many places to visit.  The Santa Monica Pier was a large double-jointed pier and a 100 year old landmark.  Hollywood Boulevard was not to be missed.  There was the tour on the tour bus looking at famous fairies’s houses, the fairies just hoped it wasn’t an invasion of privacy.  Maybe they would even get a glance of someone famous.

On the third day, all the guests were told to wait in the hotel lobby for the limousines to arrive.  They were going to take them to Luna and Dandy’s house which was up in the Hollywood Hills.
Mio Dio
- OMG!

‘This is like a dream come true’ they thought.

The fairy paparazzi were out in full flow.  Destiny was looking forward to seeing herself in the new ‘Fairy Tell all’ magazine.  After all she was his mother, the
mamma
of a star!  Light-bulbs were flashing as they came out of the lobby of the hotel supposedly incognito but, obviously that didn’t work very well.

‘‘May I ask what relation you are to Luna?’’ a fairy Pap shouted.

Destiny put her hand up in the air waving her diamond studded hand-bag that Luna had brought for her and with a cheeky smile and a flash of her leg said ‘‘I am his
mamma
!’’

Light bulbs flashed, Destiny smiled some more and did a few poses.  Sunshine joined her throwing in the peace sign.

‘‘Peace to all Luna’s fans they chorused.’’

That was the head-line in the next issue of ‘Fairy Tell All’ Magazine.

‘Luna’s mother gives the peace sign and sends love and
pace
to his fans.  What a looker she is!!!’

There was a picture of her flashing her leg displaying just a little bit too much thigh with a big smile on her face and pink panties on show!!!!   And she is his
mamma
!!!!  Luna and Dandy found this hilarious.  Trust
mamma,
only her!

The limousines pulled up to some huge gates with a burly security guard keeping look-out.

‘‘Hey you all’’ he said in a Southern accent ‘‘welcome to Fairy-fork.’’

With that he pressed a button, the gates slowly opened displaying the most amazing state-of-the-art house anyone had ever seen.  It was all white apart from some roman stone statues which were standing at the entrance apparently called Robertus and Athena.  They were beautiful.

Destiny thought to herself ‘I want one, I wonder if I can persuade Luna to buy one for his
mamma
and
papi’s
wedding anniversary.  I will have to work on that!’ she thought to herself.

There was a huge affinity pool with the sea just behind it.  The gardens were very lush with imported olive trees, cactus and tropical plants.  They were so lovely and enchanting.  Everything was like paradise!

Destiny and Cielo were taken to their room by the maid Reba.

‘‘Come this way sir and madam’’ she said.

They followed, their mouths gaping a little at the sheer luxury of everything.  They were led into their room where there was a Queen bed with a built-in television at the end of it.  The bathrooms had his and hers sinks along with a huge walk-in shower with marble tiles.  All the furniture was very chic, just to Destiny’s taste!  A bottle of champagne was on ice with Swarvoski crystal stemmed glasses beside them in the boutique lounge area, all just divine!  Destiny flung herself onto the bed giggling.  Even Cielo was impressed.

‘‘Who would have imagined this?’’ he said.

Olive and Willow were led to their room.  There was two King beds all dressed in Versace print covers in black and gold.  The furniture was all gold with black trim.  Versace cushions in the same print were scattered around the room.

The room had a really unusual display cabinet in the corner which was filled with Versace tea-cups and saucers.  They were gorgeous.  Both girls decided that they were too beautiful to use.

The room that Sunshine and Rainbow were led to was full of colour, all the colours of the rainbow!  It was quite retro in print with bold coloured furniture.  It was a room full of angels and love.  It had a hippy striped quilt on the bed with a headboard full of raised flowers.  Dressing gowns had been draped over the bed with ‘
Pace
’ emblazoned in gold on a pink back-ground.  They were in rainbow heaven!

Dandy’s parents were beyond excited.  They always knew that Dandy was going to be different from the day he was born.  Dandy was just one of a kind.  They called him Theo but, Dandy soon put a change to that and changed his name to Dandy as he felt it just suited him better.  He felt that a fairy called Theo would be a big, strong and manly fairy.  He knew very well he was not! He wasn’t weak but, he was in touch with his feminine side and could never live up to that.  He related so much better to other girls than boys.  He was never keen on football.  He preferred playing with Barbies, his favorite colour was pink and he was a Dandy dresser.

Dana just adored her son and when he bought Luna into their lives, they felt complete but, perhaps a little disappointed that they would maybe never have grand-children.  They felt that there was some hope on the horizon as the boys were talking of adoption.  Both Dana and Fedi felt that their lives had changed for the better as soon as the olive tree fairies entered their lives and now they were in L.A.  Unbelievable!

They were led to their room which was very sophisticated, all white and red with an added touch of sparkle.  The flooring was amazing, it quite took their breaths away.  It was alternative red and white tiles with bits of crystal diamonds in the tiles which just dazzled.  The bed and furniture was white but, made to look old with ornate gold trimmings, it was beyond lush!  Red furry cushions were scattered everywhere along with some alternative spectacular cushions in chocolate brown with raised flowers.

    ‘
Mio Dio
- OMG!’ thought Dana.  I could actually move in here, I love these boys, so much style!

Speranza was led to his room by Reba.  He still found it very hard to believe how his life had changed and sometimes even wondered if he was dreaming it all.

Was he going to wake up one day and realize it was all just a dream?  His room was covered in animal print.  Zebra to be exact!  The floor was laid with extravagant tiles in a very high shine grey/black colour, they were superb and very shimmery.  The bed had a huge headboard adorned with zebra stripe diamante buttons. The bed and furniture were all black with diamante hardware.  The bedding was plain black but the bed was covered with zebra material cushions which were plush and soft to the touch.  A crystal chandelier hung from the ceiling.  It had a black shade with crystals hanging, shimmering in the light.  A zebra chair sat in the corner and a zebra chaise lounge ran along the end of the bed.  It was magnificent!!!  To top it all, it had an on-suite.  He just had to take a peek and was not disappointed and guess what?  There were even zebra towels!!!!  Sperenza felt a rush of love flow through his body, of utter happiness, he just felt so very welcomed by these fairies who he still hardly knew, he loved these fairies.  How could he ever repay them for their kindness?  He would have to think of something but, in his heart he believed that a kindness is always repaid in some shape or form.  It may not be straight away but, the time would come, he just knew it.

What the visitors didn’t know is that Luna and Dandy had arranged a surprise ball for their guests the very next evening.  They were bewildered the next morning when they discovered a mask from Venice for each of them was left on their beds.  Reba had apparently put them there after making their beds.

‘Oh wow’ they thought ‘what is happening here?’

The boys had arranged for the famous fairy Bruce Sparkle to play at the ball.  Who didn’t love a rocker? The very accomplished harpist Crystalline would play as the guests arrived.  All sorts of famous fairies were coming.  If you were anyone in Hollywood, then you were invited.

Costumes had been ordered for each of the family members.  Luna knew that his parent’s favorite Opera was none other than The Phantom of the Fairy.  He felt that his
papa
would make an excellent Phantom and his
mamma
would be the love of his life.

Dana and Fedi would make a beautiful masked couple as Romeo and Juliet.  They also had their own very special love story.

Dana originated from Romania and her father smuggled her out of the country in a hidden compartment underneath his motorbike seat.  It was an uncomfortable ride for his mother at the time as she was in the early stages of pregnancy with Dandy but, she wanted to be with Fedi.  She was unable to leave her country as it was not permitted but, love over-rode all.  Fedi was not prepared to leave the love of his life behind so he took her over the border with him.  It was all a bit of an adventure and they wanted to see the world.  It was from this day that Dana’s life began.

The fairies were told to get ready for a surprise……

A big crystal set of wings covered the whole of the ceiling in the massive grand entrance.  Drapes of gold and silver were hung everywhere and little cupid cherubs sat in the corners.

The masked ball was being held in the grand dining room.  The room had been cleared all except for the band in the corner.  Loungers were placed along all the walls so that fairies could lounge between dancing.

Fairies started to arrive.  There was Fairy Tommy Cruiser with some tall fairy on his arm, blond with long legs, she wore really high heels and Tommy looked even shorter than normal, he hardly reached her shoulders and then there was Fairy Giorgio Blooney.  What a looker he was!
Mio Dio
- OMG!  Both Destiny and Dana felt their faces flush beneath their masks at the anticipation of Giorgio removing his mask!  He had a really pretty brunette on his arm, she was a famous Italian fairy who constantly shook her hair.

‘Oh wow!  Italians have a way of their own’ thought Destiny to herself ‘no wonder she fell in love with an Italian.’

The harpist was strumming her fingers along the harp.  A soulful light tune echoed throughout the big space.  She was playing Somewhere over the Rainbow.  Visitors were offered fairy pink Champagne which had been especially flown in from the vineyards in France.  They were offered little eateries, olives, small fairy sausages, small pizzas, water biscuits covered in Cavier, the food was delicious!
