Wish - Stronger fairy wings

Olive gulped hard and called the other fairies.

‘‘I feel I must use another wish.  If we don’t have stronger fairy wings, we cannot help the monkeys, we cannot find Rush, we need to be able to fly fast and furiously’’ she said.

The other fairies agreed that this would not be a wasted wish.

Olive and the fairies made a heart of love with fallen leaves and placed little Poppy in the middle.  Poppy sat there, her huge eyes almost popping out of her small head.  She clutched her little hands in her lap, wondering what on earth was going on!

‘‘Calling Priscilla, calling Priscilla’’ chanted Olive.  Priscilla was surprised to be called back so quickly, she had only just settled back into her house.  She was having a little nap as fulfilling wishes to the Chosen One took it out of her.  She filled her wand with fairy dust and flew to where Olive and the other fairies waited in anticipation.  She floated down to the rain forest and saw the fairies kneeling around a heart made of leaves.  There was a little monkey sitting in the middle, she was quite moved by the sight of it all.

    ‘‘
Ciao
my dear’’ said Priscilla ‘‘I wasn’t expecting to see you so quickly, are you ready for your 8th wish?’’

Olive looked like she had been crying.  All the fairies were subdued.  She explained the situation to Priscilla and explained that without stronger fairy wings for all of them, there was no way they could help everybody.

‘‘I wish for stronger fairy wings for all of us.  Please, please, please.’’

Priscilla waved her magic wand over the four fairies, turquoise dust fell over them, this was the colour for strength and growth.

‘‘Your wish is granted my dear.  You will be able to fly anywhere in the world your heart desires quickly and without any effort.’’

Priscilla flew away smiling to herself thinking ‘yes, Olive was definitely the right choice to be given the gift.  She was the chosen one for a reason.  The fairy Gods just knew what they were doing.’

The fairies thought maybe they should just try their new wings out.  They appeared to be a little heavier and seemed more powerful.  Olive lifted herself off the ground.  She lifted high into the air, she felt exhilarated.

    ‘‘
Mio Dio
- OMG!’’ they chorused ‘‘let me try.’’

What an amazing feeling to be able to fly fast and furious without any effort.  They were all so glad that they were fairies and blessed by Olive’s presence.

    ‘‘AMEN for Olive!’’ they shouted.

Olive and Willow decided that the best course of action was to stay around the surrounding area for the rest of the day and to rise bright and early the next morning.

Luna and Dandy went for a half hour exploration.  They were amazed that so much destruction had been done in such a short time.  Trees were uprooted, animals had fled trying to find a safe place to hide, ponds and rivers had overflowed.  There was an eerie silence throughout the forest.  Luna and Dandy wanted to find Rush.  Where was he?  They kept calling his name ‘‘Rush, Rush!  Answer if you can hear us.’’

    There was no answer!

As they returned back to the other fairies, they heard a groaning sound.  They swooped down to try and find where it was coming from.  They saw someone trapped under a huge fallen tree, they couldn’t see who it was until they got closer.

    ‘‘Rush, is that you?’’

There were two bodies on the ground.  One was trapped under a tree and the other one lay whimpering between some leaves.  They saw that one of Rush’s helpers was trapped beneath a big trunk and it looked like his legs were crushed.  The fairies knew that there was no way they could move the trunk on their own, they just weren’t strong enough but, at the least the fairy was still conscious.  They took him some water.  They put the water cooler to his lips, he drank thirstily.  Rush looked like he was unconscious but, began to stir slightly as he heard voices.  Luna flew to his side and said they would be back as soon as they could but, they needed to get a fairy stretcher and some help to move the tree trunk so they could rescue the other fairy whose name was apparently Lucky!

‘Not so lucky’ thought Luna and Dandy in unison but, after all he was lucky to be alive.  They could both have been dead or eaten by the wild animals of the rain forest.

Luna and Dandy flew quickly back to get a stretcher or at least get Rush to safety.  The fairies didn’t know how they were going to save Lucky.  They just weren’t strong enough to move the huge tree trunk on their own.  They managed to get Rush to safety.  Olive and Willow prepared him a light meal and fed it to him.  He was very weak but, all he could think about was Lucky and the monkeys.

By now, it was beginning to get dark.  They were afraid to leave Lucky all by himself for another night in the rain forest.  They called for the help of the fairy Rescue Service.   A rescue helicopter arrived but dusk had fallen.  What could they do?  No-one could see and they needed to get strong ropes to try and lift the tree trunk so that Lucky could be freed.  Luna and Dandy flew back to comfort Lucky along with all the essentials, they told him they would stay with him in the forest until the sun rose and help could come.

Lucky felt extremely lucky at this point.  Who else would sacrifice so much for him apart from Rush?  He was happy that Rush was safe.  Luna and Dandy set up a bonfire and made some beans and coffee which they fed to Lucky.  They were unable to free his legs but, made him as comfortable as possible in the circumstances.  They decided to tell Lucky some of their recent adventures in Hollywood and Lucky even managed to laugh through all the pain.  They gave him morphine patches which had been given to them by the paramedics of the rescue helicopter.  These helped to ease the pain and sent him off to sleep.

‘Roll on the morning’ they all thought.

Sun rise seemed to take forever coming, it seemed like an eternity but, eventually it came.  They could hear the sound of helicopters above, Dandy and Luna stood up and sent out distress flames so they knew their exact whereabouts.  Four helicopters came in total, big heavy ropes were let down into the forest.  A fairy ambulance was at the ready to rush Lucky to the hospital as soon as he was freed.  Rescuers started to descend down the helicopter’s ladders which were swaying up above.

    ‘
Mio Dio
- OMG!’ thought Luna and Dandy ‘they are so very brave.’

A television crew arrived, they were at the ready to film all, after all, Luna was famous.  The news coverage showed him for who he was, a savior!

The news coverage was shown all over the world but, Luna didn’t really want any sort of coverage or to be on television, he wasn’t a hero.  He was doing what any normal fairy would do, anyone with a sense of right and wrong and a heart that is, plus he didn’t look his best.  He was scruffy and unshaven after spending the night sleeping in the rain forest.

Dandy looked at Luna and whispered ‘of all the times to be filmed!’

The rescuers managed to lift the tree just enough for the medics to pull Lucky free.  He said he couldn’t feel his legs at all, there was no sensation whatsoever.  He was placed on a stretcher and lifted into the fairy sky ambulance to be taken to the nearest fairy hospital.

It was all over the news.

‘Luna is a hero along with his partner Dandy as they save a trapped fairy in the Amazon Rain Forest.  These fairies are heroes!’

Hollywood was so proud but, not as proud as their parents who sat back in Salento watching everything on their fairy televisions.  Destiny’s heart swelled with pride thinking ‘her Luna was something so special.  She always knew in her heart that one day he would be loved, worshipped by all and accepted for who he is.’

Olive and Willow were back at the hut, carrying twigs to rebuild the roof, looking after Rush, feeding Poppy and worrying whether Maggie had gone into premature labor.  She was making a very strange groaning noise and was rocking from side to side.  What did they know about birth delivery?  They put out a call for help, they needed the fairy midwife to come to the rainforest to check on Maggie.

‘‘Please just let her and her baby monkeys be ok, please’’ they prayed.

Everything was happening in the forest.  Maggie was in labor.  Rush was slowly recovering.  Lucky was in hospital having his legs operated on.  Luna and Dandy were all over the news and Olive and Willow were running about like headless fairy chickens.

    Oh the joy!

Rush was already drawing up a plan to replant the trees, rebuild the sanctuary where it had been damaged and even planning to capture a male and female monkey so that more breeding could be done.  Time never stood still even in the face of such tragic happenings.

Maggie was in labor all that night and well into the next morning.  She gave birth to two adorable little fellows, both male.  It seemed to everyone that Poppy would have her place in Maggie’s heart.  Maggie had taken to Poppy which was strange as monkeys are so very protective of their own.  Maggie took comfort in the fact that little Poppy who was a baby herself kept stroking Maggie’s back when she was in strong labor, comforting her and telling her everything would be alright.  They formed a little bond.  Maggie promised herself that Poppy would become one of her monkey babies.

Olive and Willow were overcome with joy.  They had never seen a birth before let alone a fairy monkey birth.  It was the most amazing experience ever, one they would never forget.  They christened the two boys Harry and Henry, nice strong names for two strong monkeys.  After all they were born just after a hurricane and came into this world just like two kings to be worshipped by all.

It was going to be a while before Lucky was able to be released.  It was too early to say whether he would get the full use of his legs again but, only time would tell. However, Lucky felt he was extremely lucky to be alive.  If it hadn’t been for Rush coming to his rescue, he would be dead, then Rush suffered the misfortune of getting trapped himself.  He owed so much to Luna and Dandy.  Those fairies deserved everything that came to them.  They may be famous but, in his eyes they are heroes with hearts of gold and no amount of money could ever buy that.

The time had come for the fairies to return to their homes, they had learnt so much during this adventure.  They now had strong fairy wings which would carry them wherever their hearts desired….

And Olive and Willow desired so much!

Olive thought to herself ‘when will I finally marry Oak?  I cannot wait for him forever.  I will have to put a plan in order to finally make him all mine…….’

CHAPTER 15

THE BIRTH OF RENESMEE PEARLA

The due date of Renesmee Pearla was fast approaching.

Luna and Dandy returned to L.A. after their rain forest adventure.  They requested the services of the famous fairy interior designer Daffodil Jones, she was known as Daffy to her friends and those in the know. She was the most famous baby fairy interior designer in Hollywood.  Anyone who was anyone hired her, she had the most colourful and amazing ideas for nurseries.  Luna and Dandy couldn’t wait to get her into their mansion.

The doorbell rang.  The fairy boys rushed to the door, Daffy stood there, she was dressed in yellow and had the biggest smile across her face.  She clutched a huge pink fairy stork to her newly done breasts, she had been to one of the best Hollywood surgeons just last week and was now ready to be even more creative than normal, if that was as all possible.  She apparently had been inspired as she lay in her hospital bed after her operation eating grapes and watching the news of Luna and Dandy’s expeditions in the rain forest.  She knew that she was going to be even more famous after working for these two.

    ‘‘
Vieni, vieni
’’ they shouted ‘‘welcome into our home, welcome!’’

Hugs and air kisses were exchanged.

‘‘Okay’’ said the boys ‘‘we are expecting a girl and we want her room to be all about diamantes, glitter, totally extravagant!  Everything needs to be suitable for a fairy princess, money is no object, we want the best of everything for our special Renesmee.’’

Daffy was full of ideas.  She was thinking dark wood furniture made from the best wood available.  Walnut or even Oak with sweeping canopies so the little angel could escape into a little world of her own.  White high shine diamante floor tiles.  Monkeys would be the theme!  Yes, monkeys!  They would hold diamante encrusted bananas in their little hands, there could never be too much glitz!  Glitz and pink only fit for such a special little fairy.  She had even arranged an import of a diamond encrusted giraffe and these diamonds were real! After all, she had a huge budget.  Why not splash out on a few diamonds?  Because the new fairy baby’s aunty was Olive (the chosen one) she had commissioned a specialist in wands to make a diamond encrusted wand which would be suspended from the ceiling hanging over the little fairy’s bed.  Magic would always be in the air around this fairy, she was going to be one of the most fortunate in the world.  However, Luna and Dandy were going to give their daughter the greatest gift of all and it was free!  The gift of love, family and a sense of belonging.  Oh yes, she was going to be one very lucky fairy, loved by all.

Daffy started designing, spending, ordering and spending some more, the excitement in the air was electric.

The magazine editor of ‘Fairy Tell-all’ magazine was keen to get the first photos of the new fairy baby.  They had managed to secure a deal with Luna and Dandy for $250,000.  They were going to do an exclusive photo shoot at the mansion, all the family would be flying back to L.A. for the shoot.  Fairy dress designer Tera Hang had promised to design dresses which had never been seen or worn by anyone.  No-one had been that privileged before but, for Renesmee, everything and anything was possible.

The boys had a call in the middle of the night.

Renesmee Pearla was coming into the world and into a life full of love!  Yes, it was time.  The private fairy jet was on standby ready to fly the boys to Belgium at a moment’s notice.  The paps were aware of the impending birth but, not of the name or whereabouts of the surrogate mother.  After all, some things were best kept a secret!

Oceane was in deep labor by the time the boys arrived.  The contractions were only ten minutes apart and the birth was imminent.

‘‘No pictures of my lower regions’’ she shouted.

‘Or my face’ she thought as that was rather contorted at the moment.  Contorted in pain!

‘‘Give this beautiful lady anything she wants’’ shouted the boys ‘‘anything!  Ease the pain for her!’’

Oceane thought to herself ‘maybe if one of you boys gave birth that would ease the pain.’

Her smile then stretched into a scream as she shouted ‘‘I want to push, I want to push.’’

‘‘Get your video camera ready’’ Luna shouted to Dandy.

Oceane managed to say ‘‘remember, don’t show my privates’’ through clenched teeth.

Renesmee Pearla was born beautiful, she was smiling, it may have been wind but, there was a definite smile on this fairy’s face as she was thrust into the world of Hollywood.  The boys cried, Oceane cried, happy to give such a gift and happy that she could at last buy their house outright, her family would never want for anything again.

‘‘A boy next time’’ shouted Dandy ‘‘this princess needs a bro.’’

‘‘Steady on’’ thought Oceane ‘‘it is quite obvious they hadn’t just give birth!’’

Oceane handed over the baby fairy and the boys handed over a wad of money along with a huge diamond which hung on a white gold chain.

Oceane thought to herself ‘that pain was so totally worth it.’

The boys had even promised her a tummy tuck but, she thought she would save that if there was to be another birth first.  After all, she was being a Christian, they were able to give their fairy babies more than most people could ever afford to.  The boys hugged Renesmee, they hugged each other, they hugged Oceane who already had the necklace hung around her neck.  They did a little fairy dance before rushing out to phone their
mammas.

Their mothers had both been pacing up and down, anxious!  Their fathers had taken up smoking and drinking Gin, everyone was anxious and then the phone call came.

‘‘You are now grand-parents’’ they shouted over Skype as they presented Renesmee Pearla to the glowing
nonni
!!!

    ‘‘
Bella, bella, bella
!’’ they shouted ‘‘we love her already!!!’’

‘‘Once Renesmee is settled, we will send the private fairy jet to collect you in a day or two.  Get packed and bring us some
Amaretto
to toast the baby fairy’s head.’’

    ‘‘Hooray!’’ they all shouted.

‘‘Hooray!’’ shouted Destiny ‘‘I am a nonna!’

Cielo sat in silence, he was very happy, a little fairy tear slid down his cheek.  He brushed it away, after all, sky fairies don’t cry and he was a big man sky fairy.
