Don’t Make it Harder on Yourself
“So what do you guys want to do?” asked Kaci. She wanted us to get together to celebrate her little business she had started on the side.
“Hmm let me think?” I pondered. I spent the last few days lecturing myself on men and how stupid I was. I even went as far as calling my mother. Who had a few choice words about my distorted personality, that had I been a good daughter, I would see her more often. Ah, there’s nothing like good Greek guilt.
Thursday morning came and I decided to no longer own my anger, I let it go so I said to myself. I barely filled in the girls on what happened. All I told them is if the Suit was to walk into the Bistro to act like normal, but from now on they would have to serve him.
Morning came and went and the Suit didn’t show. The logical part of me was happy, the less I saw of him the quicker I could move on with my life. But the part he changed in me grew dark and isolated. I was feeling the pain of not being with him. I pushed it as far into my mind as I could. Letting it know, it no longer had place with me.
We had decided to go out on Friday night. I was a little nervous since Kaci really wanted to go to a local bar that had crazy wild martinis and just as equally crazy music. They both promised me that they would look after me, knowing crowds made me nervous.
I met them outside the bar, it was already packed. You guessed it, I wasn’t happy. I wore a pair of black skinny tuxedo pants with a tight fitted grey shirt and beautiful BCBG hot pink high heels. Kaci waved me down as I walked over to them. Roxi had brought Peter and a few of their friends, I smiled and said hello.
“So are we going in?” I asked.
“Not yet, we’re waiting for one more.” Roxi said.
“Who?” I asked her as she smiled wickedly at me. “You’ll see.”
She looked over me and started to wave. I turned to see who she was waving at. Jaks smiled, as he walked over to us with his hands in his front jeans pockets. He looked hot with his fitted blue button down shirt and somewhat tight jeans.
“Now we could go in.” She winked at me “I called ahead and reserved us a table.”
We slipped through the crowd Roxi and Keri both flanking me. When we finally reached the table, I exhaled. The waitress came over and asked us what we wanted. All three of us cried out, “VODKA!” She laughed and proceeded to take the orders of the rest.
When we got our vodka bottle, I began to fix our drinks. “So you never said what happened with your Suit?” Kaci asked as I offered her, her drink.
“The Suit has nothing to do with me.” I said, as I gave Roxi her glass.
“My ass, he has nothing to do with you. You haven’t spoken about him in almost a week. What the fuck happened on Tuesday at the staff party?” Roxi eyed me waiting, while Kaci stood next to me not taking her glass. I took a long swig of my drink, thanking myself for taking extra money for the cab ride home. I looked at Roxi, with the look of ‘drop it, I’m not in the mood’.
Her eyes got hard and angry. “Did he do something?” She said it so loudly, that the guys turned around and looked at us. She then looked at them and shouted. “What?” and then turned back to me.
My eyes brimming were with tears. “Drop it Roxi.” I hissed behind my glass.
Both girls no longer brought up the subject and we continued the evening celebrating Kaci’s new venture, wishing her all the success in the world. The dj commented on a rewind mix he wanted to play and we all screamed yes. Missy Elliot’s One Minute Man began playing making Roxi go wild.
“I love this song! We need to dance, like NOW!” She pulled me and Kaci off our seats and we proceeded to dance in front of our table. Peter and Jaks made sure we had plenty of space, by pushing everyone back a little.
We started to dance to the old school beats. It was just what I needed. I jumped onto our table and began to dance, swinging and gyrating my hips. Roxi started to scream out and we all started to sing the song. I lowered myself and passed the girls their glasses and we cheered clinking out glasses together.
After a few minutes of listening to another Missy track, Roxi disappeared, when she came back she was laughing to herself. I looked at her still half crouched on the table.
“What is it?” I asked trying to catch my breath.
“Remember that song I was telling you about a few days ago? You know the one when we were kids?” She started.
“You didn’t?” I half smiled.
“Didn’t what?” asked Kaci.
“You’ll see.” Roxi shouted over the music, a second after the Missy track ended, I could hear the all familiar beat of my childhood coming through the speakers of the bar. I had to be about six or seven when it came out, maybe even younger, “
don’t want no short dick man…”
I started to laugh, Kaci almost doubled over and we began to dance and sing to the lyrics. I stood up on the table and just let myself go, singing and dancing.
Towards the end of the song, I could feel a set of eyes burn through me. I stopped what I was doing and looked around the club. I saw Lukas with Erik at the end of the bar. Everyone around him was dancing. Girls were trying to gain his attention, but he didn’t bother to notice. He stood still like a statue, his eyes fixated on me. “Fuck me” I said to myself. I didn’t realize how affected I would be by seeing him. I lowered myself down, not wanting him to see me and for the first time I was thankful that there was a crowd around me.
I pulled Kaci to the side, “I need to leave!” I bellowed.
“Why?” She asked, concerned that something had happened.
“Don’t ask, I’ll explain later, just please don’t be mad. Just tell Roxi I went to the bathroom, or else she’ll make a scene.” I pleaded.
I took out a hundred dollars and gave it to her to pay for the bottle. “Okay go.” She nudged her head. Kaci was not to please with me right now, but I’d make it up to her.
I jumped off the table only when I saw Roxi was preoccupied with her other friends. I kissed Kaci and apologized again. I swallowed hard and began to make my way through the club.
I pulled a bus boy to the side and asked him where the back door was, he told me he’d lead me to it. Thank god for bus boys and me offering a great tip helped too. I took a deep breath, knowing I needed to face my phobia of the crowd around me, but right now Lukas was my biggest fear. I pushed through and gave the bus boy a twenty for his efforts. He pushed the door open for me, the rush of air hit me straight on. I felt like I could finally breathe. I instinctively turned when I heard my name being called from behind me. I turned away rushing through the door into the alley.
I walked through the alley but the idea of him catching up to me made me feel nervous, so I began running. Thank god, the bar was next to a busy street. As I turned the corner, I could hear him screaming my name. I leaned against the building, taking in a deep breath, my heart beating a mile a minute.
Once I felt calm enough, I pushed myself off the wall and began to walk away. It was Friday night and St. Laurent Street was known as party central, with its clubs and bars, which lined the numerous blocks. I hugged myself, keeping my arms tight to my body, as I walked though the crowded partygoers. The streets were crammed with dancing girls, drunks and bouncers trying to keep the ‘undesirables’ out.
I thought I could walkthrough but I couldn’t, my phobia was to overwhelming right now. I flagged a cab down and as I opened the door, I felt my arm being pulled from behind me. Lukas was out of breath, panting. He reached over me and closed the door. The cabby left me with Hurricane Lukas. Thanks a lot asshole.
“What do you think you’re doing?” He roared at me, people around us moved away to give us space. He wore a black almost sheer V-neck t-shirt, the v dipped low almost passed his large pecks, his silver chain still concealed. White washed black jeans hugged his firm butt and thick thighs. The image was complete when I saw his combat boots. Why did he have to look so good right now?
He held tight onto my bicep almost hurting me. I yanked my arm away and gave him the dirtiest look I could and began to cross the street. He pulled me again, but I reached back and punched him, he barely moved.
“Don’t fucken touch me!” I seethed. I waved down another taxi, but he wasn’t having it. Before I could say anything to him I felt him move, it was Jaks. He had pushed him off me.
“Get your fucken hands off her!” He cried.
They both stood toe to toe, Lukas a good foot taller, towered over him. I felt the nerves inside me shake. I hated fighting, especially extreme confrontation.
“Stay out of this boy!” His threat was clear. Lukas’ presence was domineering enough, he didn’t need to yell or scream to get his point across.
Lukas didn’t move from his spot. Jaks rushed at him, but Lukas easily took care of him. With two jabs and one cross and a knee to the stomach, Jaks was left on the ground.
“I told you to stay out of this!” Lukas growled. I looked passed both of them, to see Roxi and Kaci standing with Erik near the door of the bar we were at. Lukas reached for my hand holding tight and waved for a cab, he opened the door to let me in.
“Don’t make it harder on yourself. Just get in the fucken car, Alexia!” He said as he pushed me in. He told the cabby his address, but I tried to protest, but he didn’t hear me.
The taxi stopped in front of his condo building and let both of us out. Lukas went to punch in his code, but I began to walk away, he ran after me and turned me around.
“Come upstairs with me.” He growled.
“No dice ace, I’m going home.” I snapped.
He wouldn’t let me go and I began to thrash away at him. He kept pulling me, but when he saw there was no end to my fighting he threw me over his shoulder, locking me tight against him. I kept hitting him from behind, lashing out at him but he ignored me.
We walked through the door to the elevator taking us to his condo. The elevator doors opened and he let me down, knowing I had no way of leaving if I didn’t have a key. My breathing was erratic, making me feel lightheaded. But it didn’t stop me from being angry.
I began to pound my fists against his chest. Not punching him hard, but enough to get my anger and frustrations out on him. I wanted so badly to leave, but he stood in my way. He finally took my hands and held them tight against me.
“Lukas, I swear if you don’t let me leave, I’ll call the cops. I want out now!” I grit out nearly grinding my teeth to nothing. He simply stared at me.
“Oh fuck off with your stupid eyes! What do you want from me?” I yelled at the top of my lungs.
“You fucken left! No note, no texts, no calls, no nothing, you left and instead of groveling to me and you expect me to fall to your feet? You’re an asshole. I told you to leave my little world and you ignored me, destroying everything!”
I slumped over, trying to regain myself. “Move.” I murmured. But he didn’t, I pushed his hands off me and moved away from him. I began pacing around his condo, which was pitch black, but the city’s lights illuminated the room enough so I could see his kitchen.
I walked over to the fridge, not caring if it wasn’t my home. I needed something to drink anything, but all I saw were bottles of water. I took one and twisted the cap and guzzled it down. I could feel him standing behind me.
“I’m sorry.” He whispered.
I let my head fall back and I became delirious with laughter.
“You’re sorry? Well that makes two of us.” I pitched the empty water bottle into the sink.
“What do you want?” I stood there watching him waiting for his answer. His features were dark. Fuck, he was so complicated.
“You.” He said so quietly I barely heard him.
“You can’t have me.” I crossed my arms. “So what is it that you want from me?” I asked, but he didn’t answer. I stepped away from him heading towards the elevator doors. With my back to him I pressed the call button just in case it worked, but it didn’t. I started to tap my shoe on his expensive dark wooden floors.
“Are you dating the boy?” He finally said something. I turned gave him such a disgusted look.
“Why?” My question infuriated him.
“So you’re seeing him.” He snapped.
“That is none of your concern Lukas!” I snapped back.
“You are my concern Alexia!” He screamed. He walked over to where I stood, his presence pushing me back onto the elevator doors. “That one night with you… it was too much for me, you’re so…” He combed his fingers through his hair. A very low fuck came from his mouth. “You’re so fucken real. You think I affected you? It’s you who affects me.” He said pounding his chest. “I don’t do well with things I can’t control. That night I stood outside your building waiting, but you never came, the need to be with you was too great for me. I was pacing outside like a madman waiting, until I finally realized you must have been upstairs. When I knew you were there, it took everything in me not to break the fucken door down to get to you. I can feel your pull. Don’t you understand? You fucken own me. You own me Alexia!” He pushed himself closer to me caging me in. “I held you in my arms that night and for the first fucken time, I felt at home.” He reached for me taking me in his arms, gently holding me in his embrace. “I’m sorry.” He whispered.
He began to kiss my hair, gradually moving down towards my face, he slipped his hand underneath my chin and lifted it. His kiss unraveled the knots I had inside me the last few days. This kiss wasn’t possessive or hungry but soft and desperate. He took his time using his tongue to slowly lick my lips, pleading with me to let him back in and when I did, he moaned in pleasure. The tenderness of his lips warmed my entire body. He lowered himself to pick me up, making me wrap my legs around him. His one hand held me from underneath, while the other slowly moved up my back and into my hair.
He walked us up the stairs, taking us to his room. I knew I was in over my head, he was too much for me, but something inside me needed him more.
He walked through his bedroom and slowly put me down on his king size bed, the soft expensive dark sheets felt cold along my warmed body. He stood over me, looking at me like I was a meal he was about to enjoy.
“Take off your clothes Alexia.” His low hoarse voice only intensified the burning ache inside me. I followed his command, watching him do the same.
His body looked more delicious than ever. The soft light from the city illuminate the room, making his body glow with a soft blue hue. He took off his heavy set silver chain and placed it on the nightstand. I could see a beautifully intricate cross was dangling from it. He stood over me for a few moments longer, making the air around us dense with anticipation. He slowly lowered himself onto me, making me feel his weight. I felt overwhelmed, like I was taken in, trapped somehow by his body, his heat giving me shivers right down to my pussy.
He kissed my breasts making my body arch towards his mouth, he then bit my nipple. I moaned with approval as he began to leisurely lick me until he reached my pussy. Using his fingers he slid along my inner folds teasing me, he then pushed his fingers inside. “Fuck baby, you’re so fucken wet.” He moaned and played with me until his fingers were coated. He brought them to my breasts and painted my nipples with my essence. He then lowered himself down and licked my pussy slowly, with his long wet tongue. The heat of his mouth made me feel cherished as he began to kiss my swollen lips, making me want to cum. He reached for my clit and rhythmically played with it with his thumb, letting his tongue come in and out of my pussy. I could feel the pressure building up inside me. He kept up his pace, slowly working me into a frenzy, I started to grind myself into his mouth. I reached for my breasts kneading them. “Lukas” I cried out. He kept moving at his tortuous pace. I looked down to see he eyes, which were completely fixated on me.
