“Baby? You did this for me?” He wondered his eyes glazed over.

“Lukas, I did this for me. I can’t show you my heart, but I could show you the mark you have left on me.” He lowered himself down slowly and gently kissed the Greek letters.

“Take off your shirt.” He whispered as he took my yoga pants off, letting his fingers graze the outside of my legs. He knelt on my bed and pulled off his white t-shirt. I could see him playing with his belt and fumble with his pants. I smiled at seeing him not be so perfect.

It was the afternoon and there was still light out. My room filled up with a quiet orange glow, a calm scene began to unfold around us. He looked at me as he caressed my cheek with the back of his fingers. He positioned his length along my pussy and held himself there for a mere moment. His eyes a liquid clear blue as they softened my core. He tenderly eased himself into me. He took my hand and placed it over his heart. I could feel his heart beating.

“I love you.” He said adoringly as he moved inside me. His every thrust was affectionate and loving, slow and deliberate. The intensity of the moment we were sharing only heightened my climax. I could feel it barreling down. He kissed my neck as he lowered his body onto mine and held me. He moved inside me, gliding through my wetness. He pulled back and kissed me on my lips, his stare alone made me cum. I withered underneath him. He kept kissing my neck and my collarbone, coaxing my orgasm to come harder. He gritted his teeth and grunted my name as he continued with his shallow thrusts until he could no longer move.

“I love you baby, so fucken much.” He held me the rest of the night, playing with my hair and trying his hardest to reassure me. I fell asleep in his warm embrace, ready for what tomorrow had in store for me.

I could hear Lukas yelling, even though words were muffled, I could still hear him. I moved from my bed and saw him flaring his arms outside on my small veranda. I waited until he was done. He turned and opened the door and smiled

“You look good wearing my t-shirt.” He smiled.

I looked down and pulled at the hem. “It’s too big, but I like it.”

He laughed “Come here.” He held his arms wide. I ran towards him jumping into his arms and wrapping my legs around his waist. I grabbed his shoulders and he palmed my butt, carrying me to the couch, where he sat us down.

Still straddling him he asked. “So what does my baby girl want to do today?” I smiled as he looked me over, caressing my face.

“Well I guess I should look for a job and I need to get my books for my last semester.”

He furrowed his eyebrows “Last semester in fall?”

I shrugged “I took time off to work.”

He shook his head. “Only you. Come on, let’s have breakfast and tomorrow we’ll go and get your books.” He lifted me up and carried me to my room.

“Lukas, I don’t have the money to pay for them, plus I need to pay my lease.” He placed me on my bed and kissed the top of my forehead.

“Don’t get mad.” He smirked.

“When you start with a sentence like that how can I not get mad?” I brooded.

“I paid the lease already.” He said warily of my response.

“What do you mean you paid the lease?” I breathed.

“Well you have six months left and I paid for it. To be honest I rather you move out and stay with me at my penthouse in the Old Port, but I’m not going to push you. You have wings and I don’t intend to rip them off.” He said nonchalantly.

“Lukas, I didn’t want you to do that!” I seethed and got up from bed and began pacing.

“I know baby, but it’s the least I could do considering my parents behaviour.” He reached out and grabbed my hand.

“Listen.” He said and I waited.

“Just listen, since it’s your last semester, stay home I’ll pay for your bills and everything. You won’t need to worry about anything. Do what you need and I’ll take care of the rest.” He said earnestly.

“That’s not what I want Lukas! I want to…I know it’s stupid, but I want to have equal footing with you. I realize I’ll never make the amount of money you do, but at least I could pay for a dinner or a gift or a trip, something that I could give you.” I chagrined.

“Come here.” He tried to move me closer, but I wouldn’t budge.

“No, you don’t get it.” I pushed back.

“I do get it.” He snapped. “You think I didn’t know how much that bottle of whisky cost? You think I don’t see how hard you work? Baby, you give me you and you are worth so much more than you can ever fathom. Do you honestly think I would fall hopeless and helpless in love with just anyone? I haven’t ever given my heart to anyone on this fucken earth, but you. So just let me take care of you.” He grabbed the shirt I wore and pulled me to him. He lifted it and kissed my new tat.

“You and me it’s our path, our life. We are headed for something a lot more serious and you know it, so just let it happen.” I chewed on my lower lip, Lukas’ eyes narrowed.

“Alexia, I want to take you out today, so stop that.” He said annoyed. “Come on get dressed. Let me take you out.”

The Met

Lukas stayed in Montréal the rest of the week. I was still refusing his offer. I just couldn’t accept it. I mean, I wanted to. Who wouldn’t? But the fear of getting used to being taken care of was far too great for me to handle. He scared me, the blind devotion he showed, was at times overpowering. What if I lost myself? Lost my individuality?

I had gotten a text from Kaci, her business was taking off and so she decided to give her two week notice to Philip, while Roxi finally got the position she went to school for and got a job in a pharmaceutical company. Roxi laughed and said it was karma. That Philip should have stood up for me, but I told her he had no other choice, money paid the bills and I completely understood him.

I didn’t understand why Lukas was still in Montréal, until one night when he looked at me, smile and asked if we could go out for dinner. I agreed obviously, I loved spending time with him. He drove us to a local restaurant. It was kind of high class, but we could still be casual. As we walked in, there were Lukas’ parents, I turned to him, but he blocked my way.

“You and me.” He whispered in my ear, as he held onto my arms.

He walked us to the table, “Ah Lukas.” His mother got up from her seat, he held her at arm’s length.

“Karen.” He said coldly. “Charles.” He nodded in the direction of his father. He gestured her to sit, she complied. It was disgusting to see. You can tell how much she wanted him for his money and power, his own mother.

“We already ordered.” She smiled not paying any attention to me as Lukas and I sat down. He held my hand and not once let it go.

“Good I’m glad. I came here to say this and you can go about and enjoy your meal.” He said flatly.

“What?” She sneered.

Lukas’ father looked at me, then him. “Lukas.” He said sternly.

“I wanted you to know that I have placed a restraining order on you on the behalf of Alexia and myself. You are not to come near us or her at anytime. I told you twelve years ago, that if you tried contacting me again, I would do this.”

Karen’s face grew red “Because of her.” She said with venom.

“No, because of me. I don’t need parents especially those that are like you. Now enjoy your night and your flight back to New York.” He stood up making me stand as well.

“She will not make you happy Lukas, you need us.” She screeched.

“No Karen, you need me and I’m done, I was done twelve years ago.” He turned and walked out of the restaurant. He continued to hold my hand, but was two steps ahead of me. I finally reached for him, stopping him in his tracks. I walked over and searched his face.

“Lukas, are you ok?” He gave me a faint smile.

“Not really. They’re still my parents.” I kissed his hand that held mine.

“Then why do that?” I asked.

“They need money and Mollie’s parents bribed them, telling them if she and I were to marry they would be set.” He offered. I shrugged it off outwardly, but inwardly I was furious.

“Lukas, I’m so sorry.” He kissed my forehead.

“I’m not. Come on, let’s go have dinner.”

I spent the rest of the week getting my C.V. ready. I figured since he paid for my books and lease I still needed a job to pay for food, clothes and my bills.

“What are you doing?” He came into my little office as I was just finishing up.

“Getting my resume ready.” I said nonchalantly.

“I thought we were over this.” He brooded.

“You were over it, I wasn’t.” I said as he looked away from me.

“Fine!” He bit out. “But you’re coming with me to New York this week, next week you can do what you like.” He stomped out of my room. I clicked onto my iTunes and played A Ribbon For My Hair from Bent, it was one of many songs that always reminded me of us.

The song continued to play as I walked out to see him brooding over his laptop as he worked. The light of the computer highlighted his perfectly chiseled face and beautifully done goatee. I knew he was angry with me, I could see his jaw muscles tightened. I eased my way to him. He didn’t bother to look at me.

“I love you for wanting to do this for me, but I still need to be me. I need money and I need to feel functional as a person.” He leaned back into his chair listening to me.

“Do what you need to do Alexia, but I’m not going to let you work yourself to the bone. You have school and a career you want and I would rather you focus on that, then lose yourself.”

I sighed and headed to the kitchen, I reached for a bottle of wine, the last of the one I like so much and I poured out two glasses. I walked back over and handed him a glass, I took a swig before I started my speech.

“The career you’re so adamant about, might not happen.” He looked at me carefully. “Why?”

I took another sip. “It requires a lot more time and effort on my part, traveling and studying in various countries, plus as much as I love archaeology, the work is kind of dull.” He put his glass down, looking at me in disbelief.

“So why do you pursue it?” He asked.

“I do it because I love it, because it would feel unnatural not to. It’s like it was a bygone era, which I needed to be a part of. I was actually planning on opening up my own little wine bar. I’m finishing up my masters, but I don’t really plan on doing much with it.” I swallowed hard knowing that saying it only made it that more real.

“Why haven’t you ever told me this?” He murmured.

“Never really, told anyone. Look, I don’t know. I just want to finish and I see what I’ll do.” I noted.

“A wine bar?” He murmured.

“Yes Lukas, a wine bar. There would be wines from around the world and little appetizers to match the wine you’re drinking. I’d only be opened five days a week, with a dj playing house mixes and music I like. It’s just a private dream, nothing more.”

It came time to follow Lukas to New York, I didn’t want to, but he insisted, so I came. Summer was nearing an end and I was sad about it. Not that I didn’t like winter, but the sad reality was that winter lasted a long fucken time. I don’t know about you, but personally it should just last until the holidays were over, then poof spring would start.

We spent the week going around Manhattan and when we weren’t out, we were laughing and playing. He came home one day smiling, he was too cute. He opened up the bag he was carrying and he bought us a Wii. I laughed hard knowing I was good at it and the image of Lukas losing flashed in my mind. This should be fun.

I was right. I kicked his ass in bowling. I even had Mrs. Thatcher play. She beat him too. We decided to create each other’s Mii characters. God, he was so pissed that I made his look funny.

“Come on Alexia, at least make it look like me.” I laughed so hard my sides were hurting.

“Okay…okay” I said between my laughs.

After the Wii hilarity, Lukas decided that he didn’t like it, so he opted for a movie instead. He loved action and so did I, but for some god forsaken reason, the man wanted to watch Apocalypse Now Redux. I can’t emphasize enough how much that movie puts me to sleep. Yes I know it’s a classic and it’s an incredibly great movie, but I don’t know why it’s like a sleep aid for me. I guess the movie must have ended, because the next thing I knew I’m being carried to bed in Lukas’ arms. “You little shit.” He laughed to himself and kissed me on my forehead.

“Don’t forget tonight.” Lukas woke me up in the morning. “I have a rather important client and I want you to get dressed for the occasion.” He kissed me, licking my lips and smiling at the aftermath he caused.

“I know, I know.” I said nervously as I watched Lukas leave for work.

Lukas had made me buy a dress for the occasion. I found a store that made vintage dresses from the 40’s and 50’s and they were stunning. I picked an off the shoulder number that was red and tight and hugged all my curves. He hadn’t seen it so I was excited to get dressed up. I readied my makeup and hair. I curled my hair so it swept down my shoulders and finally put on my dress. I patted myself on my back. Damn, I look good. I took out a pair of Louboutin black suede opened toe heels. I admired myself again and smiled, there was no way Lukas would be able to keep his hands to himself. I took the ring he had gotten for me and finished the look.

He gave instructions to meet him at the Metropolitan Museum. Jacob drove me there and let me out. I found Lukas waiting for me at the bottom steps. He looked so good in classic black tie attire. He was looking around to see if I was near. I decided to sashay myself over to him, as I got closer, he finally saw me.

The look on his face was what I was waiting for all night. His eyes hungrily devoured me. I could feel the slickness between my legs.

“Fuck baby, you look sensational. God damn it, I want us to go out in public. When you dress like that, all I want to do is fucken take you home and lick every inch of your body until I get your sweet pussy wet and eat up the mess I caused.” He pulled me in and kissed me hard. I had to break the kiss.

“When you do that it makes me want to get on my knees and suck you dry.” I whispered in his ear. He sucked in air.

“Come on, we better go inside before I fuck you right here.” He placed his hand on the small of my back and guided me up the stairs.

“Is everyone here already?” I asked noticing no one was around us.

“Yes.” He said as he opened the door.

“Good evening Mr. Blakk.” Said a security guard “Right this way.” The museum lights were half off, the area look desolate and eerily quiet. The tapping of my heels echoed throughout the museum. The security guard stopped in front of the Greek and Roman section of the museum. “It starts from here.” Lukas thanked him and waited until he walked away.

“Where is everyone?” I asked as I veered towards the exhibit.

“Everyone is here.” He said quietly. I looked at him perplexed.

“Come Alexia, start telling me about everything.” He walked up the first piece and waited for me to come next to him.

“What are you doing?” I asked nervously. He took a breath. “I know people.” he smiled and winked.

“Don’t worry it’s just us tonight. I just wanted to see you glow like the time when I saw you in the museum in Montréal. I know what you said about it being a dream, but I’m trying to make it into a reality for you. Tell me about this world you love so much, let me in. Let me experience it.”

If I wasn’t already in love with him, I swear he would have made me fall for him in that instant.

“I think you made me fall in love with you again.” I said touched by his thoughtfulness.

“Good, I’ll make you fall for me every day if I have too.” He winked. I stood in front of the exhibited piece and I looked at it.

“What are you doing?” He asked almost impatient like.

“I’m reading.” I said.

“Alexia, I could read the little explanation too.” He said sarcastically.

“Not like that Lukas. When you look at art especially ancient art, you have to read it like a book. Start from the top and end at the bottom. Every carving, every image has a meaning.” I pointed and began explaining it. We walked through the exhibit it took a while because I couldn’t help but show him how interesting the Hellenistic period was, that the realism of human suffering was perfectly sculpted at the time.

“I never knew that art played such an important aspect in ancient times.” He looked at a sculpture. “Of course it did, how else would the politicians work their magic? They needed to push their propaganda.” I offered.

“I guess you’re right.” He laughed.

I made a face. “I’m always right, ace.”

I noticed he was a bit off. “Is everything ok? Usually you’d have some witty come back.”

He swallowed hard. “I’m fine.”

I watched him closely. “So where to babe?”

He walked me to the near east exhibit and I could tell he was nervous. He took my hand and guided me through until we reached the Asian art exhibit.

We stepped into a little area that was created to look like an Asian inspired garden pavilion. Little tea lights and candles were lit everywhere and cherry blossom petals were strewn on the ground, he walked ahead of me and turned to face me.

He played with his hands a little. He then unbuttoned his suit jacket, and cleared his throat.

“I lived my life coasting around, my goal was to make money and find a girl I could share it with. I thought I found her. She was kind and generous and she gave me a sense of love I never experienced growing up. When I lost her, I realized what I mourned the most was the loss of warmth and love, that I would never have again. Until you. You came into my life and turned it upside down. You questioned my world and my motives. You pushed me to work to be with you, to have you. You showed me what real love is. I was blind until I saw you and now the world seems so different. When you weren’t with me, darkness came and encased me, bringing me back to the depths of loneliness I once had growing up. You are my light, my love, my heart, my most precious one.” He took off his jacket and rolled up his sleeve, he coaxed me to come closer, but I stood frozen, afraid of what he was about to do. What my heart knew he was trying to do.

“Come.” He said a little more forceful, my body obeyed. He showed me his wrist, my name was tattooed in bold Greek letters.

“I love you so damn much. I want to give you the world. This might be only a small piece, but I can do more when it comes to you.” He reached into his pocket and took out a small ring box and opened it. There inside the box was an art deco ring with a large diamond that was surrounded by pave diamonds in a platinum setting. It was one I had looked at before at Tiffany’s. He had pointed at it and I laughed at how much it cost.

“Lukas…” I stood speechless. I didn’t notice until I felt them come down my cheeks, but I had started to cry.

“Don’t leave a man hanging here baby.”

“Lukas…” I swallowed hard. “I don’t want all this. You don’t need to spend all this on me, a mere thought and look is all I need from you.” I cried quietly.

He wiped my tears away. “I know, but I want to do this. Alexia?” He said a little more urgently.

I smiled. “What was the question again?” I tried to laugh at the moment and at how wonderful he was. How utterly perfect he was for me.

“Will you marry me, you little minx?” He asked again. “Yes” I whispered looking into his eyes.

“Yes, I’ll marry you.” He took the ring out of the box and reached for my hand. He’s hands were shaking as he tried to glide the ring on my finger.

“Fuck, I love you baby.” He picked me up and swung me around, “I love you too.”
