“Heidi, you’re a little naughty, aren’t you?” His fingers probed her folds from behind, making her whimper. “You’re already wet and juicy.”

She ground into his lap. His breathing was picking up to match hers. Then he braced a firm hand on her back, holding her close. She savored the closeness, the intimacy. All these years and he was finally responding the way she’d hoped. He tilted her head to the side. The heat from his breath tickled her skin, but then the stab of pain had her flailing in his arms. The hand to her back pinned her in place. His strength was incredible, like an iron bar securing her. Had he really bitten her?

She wanted to scream, but only silent gasps came out, silent gasps that began to take on new meaning with each passing second. An orgasm loomed inside of her, ignited by the new sensation of pain and bonding. He moved his hand down her back until caressing her asshole, a featherlight touch. She couldn’t hold back, and her body released. Heidi moaned in waves to match the contractions in her pussy. Joseph’s mouth was still clamped over her neck, sucking and tugging. They were like one mass, pressed so tight together that just their closeness was intimate. He didn’t let her go until her orgasm diminished, and she leaned heavily against him.

“What was that?” she asked between staggered breaths.

“That was me claiming what’s mine.”

Chapter Thirteen

“He’ll destroy the town with his black mood.” Francis looked out the front windows for the tenth time in half an hour. After he finally pulled his two brothers apart, Joseph had stormed off. As soon as the sun set his car tires burned rubber as he barreled off the property.

Christian was handling everything pretty well, considering he’d just had his ass kicked by his jealous brother. “He’s just blowing off steam. He’ll be back soon enough.”

“He’s dangerous.” Francis sat on the sofa, the mortgage documents strewn on the table in front of him.

“Aren’t we all?” Christian sat opposite on the love seat. “So, I’m guessing it’s coming off the market? Heidi’s not going to be happy to lose her commission.”

“Could you leave now that you know what I told you?”

“I was already lost the moment I tasted her.” Christian sorted the documents into a neat pile. “Are you prepared to mate with a human and piss off the elders? You’ll be no better than the vamps you’ve deemed traitors.”

It wasn’t a simple decision. Francis wasn’t worried about Heidi losing her commission, because if she was his, she’d never want for anything. He was concerned with going against the ideals ingrained into him. He’d be no better than the vampires abandoning their race to mate with humans, diluting vampiric blood. He didn’t want to do a disservice to his people, but there was no denying the call of Heidi’s mark. He began to question everything, see the troubles of his race as blown out of proportion. If
he
could so easily fall for a human when he claimed to have an impenetrable barrier to their emotions, then any vamp could.

“I haven’t decided anything as of yet.”

“But we’re not moving anymore. I’d say you’ve made your decision. Live up to it, brother.”

A car engine grew louder as it approached the house. Francis got to his feet, a sense of relief trickling through him now that Joseph was safely home. He may have claimed not to know love, but his two brothers were all he had in the world. It was the reason he was so hard on them, wanting them to reach their full potential.

“He’s not alone,” said Francis.

He’d be able to scent his woman anywhere, and she was his woman. Christian was right. Francis would never be able to move out of town now. When he first discovered Heidi’s mark, he tried to deny it was real, deny she was their mate. It would make life so much less complicated. But their connection grew when she’d submitted to him and even more when she didn’t.

Heidi
,”
Christian murmured.

When Joseph came through the front door, he had his arm wrapped around Heidi’s shoulders. Her blonde hair was loose, and she wore a sleeveless top showing more skin than she normally did. And she had a hand to her neck.

“What happened?” asked Francis, rushing to join them.

“He bit me,” she spat. Fear didn’t lace her words, more annoyance than anything. He imagined Joseph wanted to level the playing field with Christian. Now they’d both had a taste, so hopefully they wouldn’t continue to fight. Francis was biding his time. He planned to know her blood intimately at the same time as he took her maidenhead.

Christian peeled her hand from her neck to get a better look. Francis looked over his shoulder in time to see the twin puncture marks marring her pale skin. She’d been bitten by a vampire and probably didn’t even know it.

“Come have a seat and I’ll get the Polysporin. I hear human bites are full of bacteria.” Christian continued to goad Joseph, but if he didn’t, he wouldn’t be the brother he knew.

“It was a moment of passion. These things happen.” Joseph sidled up next to Heidi, nuzzling her neck. His lust was distracting. Francis wondered what had transpired between them since Joseph left the house.

* * * *

Heidi wasn’t too apprehensive about coming back to the DeVille house. Joseph said he’d drive her home, but then things got carried away. Even with the bite, she’d wanted him to continue, to take things to the next level. Her body was still hot and achy, even more, being surrounded by all three DeVilles. Joseph wanted to take her home to talk about the house sale falling through, but the way they all stared at her now made her think of anything but business.

“Here.” Christian bent down on one knee and tilted her chin up and away. He gently smoothed a thin layer of antibacterial cream on her neck.

She still couldn’t believe Joseph actually bit her. There was no denying these were dominant, take-charge men, but to break the skin? The only reason she hadn’t complained more was the fact the bite brought on the most intense orgasm. It was as if the pain morphed into pleasure, each aiding the other to bring her a whole new experience. What would sex with Joseph feel like?

She wriggled about in her seat, wishing she had on panties now with her pussy becoming wetter by the minute. Along with her lust was a sense of urgency, a distant worry in the back of her mind that these men could be dangerous. For some reason it turned her on more than it scared her.

“Thank you,” she said.

Christian remained on his knee, placing a hand on each of her thighs. Joseph watched his movements like a hawk but didn’t act. His arm was snugly around her shoulders, holding her against his hard chest. What would she do if both of them asked her out? She’d already gone to first base with Joseph, but Christian had always been her crush, and Francis was so distant and menacing that she craved to submit to him. For an instant she envisioned all three men demanding she take them. Three DeVilles and one of her.

“Did you discuss the deal with Jeremy over dinner?” asked Francis, his expression the usual blank slate. She wanted to gain his approval, bend down, and take his cock in her mouth if she had to. Would that make him lose precious control? Or was he just not interested in her, period?

She turned to Joseph, hoping he’d take over. Repeating how she lost the account and wasted all their time wouldn’t be pleasant. If she were honest with herself, she didn’t want their house to sell, didn’t want to see them move. But if she couldn’t do the job, they’d just find an agent who could.

“Deal’s off. Jeremy turned out to be a bit off his rocker. He told Heidi we were out to enslave her, tie her up in our basement.”

They all laughed tensely as if they knew something she didn’t.

“Good riddance, then,” said Christian. He offered her a sexy half smile from where he crouched between her knees. “We’re taking the house off the market, anyway.”

“You are?” This was news to her. Very, very good news.

“Why? Was it me?”

“Of course not.” Christian slipped his fingers under the hem of her skirt and smoothed his palms along the bare flesh of her legs. His thumbs skimmed her inner thigh, bringing her pussy to life again. She parted her lips to get more air. The room suddenly felt too warm, too small. “You did perfectly, Heidi. But we can’t very well leave town and never see you again.”

She pondered his words in her head. Surely he was just flirting. Men like the DeVilles didn’t change their plans for young women like her. “Cute.”

“He’s serious, sweetheart.” Joseph played with the collar of her blouse, his stubbled cheek rubbing against her face. “You’re all we think about. All that matters to us now.”

“Since when?” Her hackles rose, her heart beating a mile a minute.
Vampire.

What game were they playing? She barely knew these men. Yes, she was permitted a love-at-first-sight crush, but men were hardwired differently than women. If they lied to her, fed her sweet words only to take them away, it would devastate her.

“I’ve known since we moved here. I think Francis has, too,” said Joseph. “Once you came over to see the house, your physical presence seemed to arouse the need in all of us.”

Christian continued up her skirt. She wore no panties, so any second, he’d come into contact with her intimate parts. “Show us your birthmark, Heidi.”

“What birthmark?”

Joseph undid the zipper on the back of her skirt, peeling it down one side of her hip. “This one,” he said, pointing out the silly blotch she’d tried so hard to cover up in the past. Diminishing creams did nothing for it.

“How do you know about that?” The car had been dark and her bunched-up skirt had never exposed the mark.

Christian rose and unbuckled his pants. She watched with a mixture of excitement and horror. But he only turned one flap down to show her an identical birthmark to hers. His abs were chiseled. The mark was identical in size, shape, color, everything. She beckoned him closer until she anchored him with an arm around one leg, the other hand exploring the mark that couldn’t be real.

“Is this some kind of joke?”

“I have the same one and so does Francis,” said Joseph, still holding her to his side as if she might bolt for freedom.

“Don’t you believe in fate, Heidi?” Christian left his pants undone and sat beside her. “That certain people were meant to find each other?”

She shook her head. She’d read hundreds of romance novels in her life, many with themes of fated love, but that was fiction. This was reality. “I barely know the three of you.”

Joseph and Christian sandwiched her, their large frames giving her barely enough room to breathe now that air became so vital. “But you feel something, don’t you? Don’t lie to us, because we’ll know if you do.”

What did Joseph mean? Did they assume she was that bad of a liar? But she didn’t have to make up stories. What they said was dead-on. She did feel a connection, always had, but she assumed it was a passing crush. But crushes faded with time, and hers only grew in strength. Once she started working with them, they had begun to invade her dreams, thoughts, and fantasies. They had a magnetic pull that made her feel more and more lost within herself.

“Change that.” Christian snapped his fingers, and the main lights went out, several large sconces with candles flicking to life simultaneously. The darkness and candlelight created a much more intimate setting. His tricks were impressive. She wondered how long they’d planned that one out. “Let us know your body, Heidi.”

Joseph began unbuttoning her blouse, torturously slow. Were they actually planning on sharing her? It seemed so unnatural but also the most erotic thing in the world. If only Francis desired her like his brothers, but he only watched, now partially in shadows.

They lowered her to her back on the sofa. She never resisted, curious to see where they were taking their advance. Joseph slipped off her skirt as Christian tugged off her silky blouse. At this point she didn’t care what they did to her. She was just going along for the ride. Her body was pulsing, her mind drifting in and out of fantasy and reality. The way they whispered, touched, and moved was so fluid and peaceful, yet heated her cunt hotter than she thought possible.

When Joseph leaned over and placed a single kiss on her shaved mound, she suddenly realized how very naked she was. They were both dressed, a wicked hunger in their eyes.

“Open up for me,” Joseph insisted.

When she kept her knees pressed together, he easily pried them apart and lowered his head. He lapped his tongue up her folds, making her yelp. So much passion and intensity whirled around in her stomach. This was a continuation from their encounter in the car, and her passion hadn’t diminished. When she reached for his head, combing her fingers through his dark hair, Christian pulled her arms above her head. He shackled her wrists with one hand and returned to his knees beside the couch, where he didn’t hesitate to suck one of her breasts. Both mouths were hot and sinfully skilled. The dual stimulation had her arching her back and moaning with wanton abandon.
