I ordered room service and while we were eating in the dining area she made all kinds of sexual gestures with her fork and spoon. She was
twenty-one years old and drank like a damn sailor. I was cool with that just as long as she wasn’t eighty-sixing everywhere. I’d been with young women her age and they rarely disappointed. She was another story. After all the teasing, she eventually fell to her knees and unbuckled my pants. When my jimmy popped out she yelled, “Damn!” while staring at it and trying to figure out if she could handle it. It was downhill from there.

Her head game was whack and her sex was even worse. It lasted longer than I was prepared for because I couldn’t bust. She had no rhythm and kept moaning like that shit was sexy. I was turned off. My dick started going down. I told her she was off the hook and to go shower. She must have seen that I was disappointed and offered me head again. I declined and told her I’d call Wop to come and retrieve her.

I five fingered her phone when she left the room and that’s when I noticed she sent out three texts. One had the pictures of my ride and others were of the hotel suite. I don’t know how she managed those but she did. Needless to say, she wouldn’t be seeing her phone again.

Reeling in my thoughts,
I texted her back:
I’m not at the hotel. I’ll have my man reimburse you for the phone. Peace.

Okay, well it’s a Dro
id. Thanks! xox
o

This dumb ass broad. That phone was some cheap ass sidekick.
Nice try
. That gave me a hearty laugh.

I was pulling up to the bar where I agreed to meet Rayna. It was
an indistinct location and not a place I had ever known of people hanging out. I tossed my reservations and made my way inside.

When I walked through the door I saw the place was half full. It smelled
of smoke from people lighting up although it is now illegal. The televisions were going and there was chatter from people interfacing. I saw no familiar faces in the place initially. I scanned the room until I saw Rayna, waving her arm patently caught my attention.

She sat at the bar and wore a huge grin on her face as I made my way to her. She stood to greet me and I immediately noticed her cleavage. Her breasts announced themselves, they puffed like marshmallows in her halter dress. T
he dress was a wine color and cupped her breasts, fitted her waist and fell down to her feet. I could tell she wasn’t wearing a bra. She looked luscious. If she was trying to get back in good favor with me, she was well on her way. I gave her a hug and kiss on her forehead and noticed her inebriating fragrance.
Cool Water
.

The scent along with her soft feel carried a hint of familiarity of her sexuality. Her vulnerability. Her
physical submission. Her emotional willingness. My heart stammered in my chest.
Fuck!

“Look at you, all sexy…getting your grown woman on
,” I teased after we embraced, hoping to hide my excitement of seeing her.

She blushed, “You don’t look half bad yourself. You’re always dapper.” She gave me a once over as she
nervously brushed the back of her neck. “I thought you stood me up. You’re usually very prompt.”

“I know I’m a few minutes behind. Traffic is a bitch today
,” I explained. I couldn’t help but notice her eyes. She kept batting them. That told me she wanted to present herself demurely, which was the exact opposite of what she had me believe during our last encounter. I was all in.

The bartender came with a glass of brandy for me. This meant she ordered in anticipation of my arrival. I took a sip and nodded in approval.

She leisurely informed, “You’re going to have to gulp instead of sip. We’re running late.”

“Running late? Did I miss something?”
With raised brows, I was confused. I thought the plan was for us to talk over drinks.

“You look baffled
,” she jeered with a cunningly sexy smirk.

“…because I am.”

“I told you I wanted to apologize. I left out the part about making amends. Finish your drink. We’re about get started,” she ordered.

I was definitely perplexed at this point. I took a minute to ponder what she said.
I hate surprises
. I took another nip at my drink. I wasn’t good with other’s acts of spontaneity. But with what Rayna was wearing, I was certainly game. It took a lot of internal struggle for me to fight off my arousal.

I looked Rayna square in the eyes in search for answers. I hadn’t spoken to her in damn near two weeks. Where was she going with all of this? I didn’t like being kept in the dark
, but her confidence and excitement seemed unerring, so I conceded.

I took my last guzzle, “A’ight. I’m game.”

With a knowing smile she collected her things from the bar, stood, and extended her smooth caramel toned arms to me and flirtatiously muttered, “This way, Mr. Jacobs.”

I paused for a minute, once again reading her before accepting her hand and
then following her.

We went to LAX and to say that I was beyond mystified would be repetitive. Where was she taking me? She asked if I had I.D. on me, which was senseless because any responsible adult would. Before I knew it, we were checking in at the
ticket booth.

She ha
s tickets for us to go to Santa Barbara? What the fuck?

We had a few minutes before boarding and decided to retreat to a restaurant
to have another drink before ascending in the air. I couldn’t resist, I had to ask, “Rayna…baby, where are we going?”

She laughed and with a bright smile she answered, “To dinner
,” as if it were no big deal.

“Shit. There are hundreds of restaurants near this airport. Why would we need to board a plane to get to one?”

“Because I want to experience something new with you. It’s my way of making amends. Just relax. I’ll have you back in town before the night’s end.” Through a warm and seductive smile she assured me.

Against my comfort level, I went with the flow. In a short time
we boarded the plane and in forty-five minutes, we were in Santa Barbara. There was a car waiting for us. We took a ten-minute ride to a colossal sized ranch. The sun had begun to retire as we were seated in an outdoor dining area overlooking splendid nature. A beautiful view of the terrain was at our feet. The balcony where we sat was covered in cobblestone. And there was soft music playing, blending perfectly well with the backdrop as we sat in the open air. There were only a few other patrons there. You could tell this was somewhat exclusive. It was nice…real nice. Her game was tight.

The waiter approached our table
, and after introducing himself and informing us of the specials, he asked, “May I start you off with something to drink?” Before I could answer, Rayna ordered me another glass of brandy and a cocktail for herself. I felt cared for. I raised my brows in pleasant surprise.

“Hahaha! You like that, huhn?” she asked in a boastful manner. “I didn’t want to get you
Patron Silver after you’ve had brandy. I’m not trying to get you sick and take advantage of you,” she teased.

As I brushed my hands in my lap I replied, “Oh, no, don’t do that.”

We both laughed. I could see her breasts shake through her halter top.

“So, what have you been up to during our hiatus?” she asked in an attempt to start a conversation.

“You know me: work, work and more work. Same shit new day. How about yourself?” I wanted to get into her head. I was still off kilter with this
date
we were on.

“Ummmm…I’ve been dancing, working, helping Michelle out with Erin.” She took a swig of her
drink and I took note of her slanted eyes gazing upon me.

“Yeah, I’ve noticed you helping Michelle out a lot. Is everything okay?” Michelle didn’t look too well at my birthday party.

“Well, yes and no,” she replied before taking another sip of her Cosmo. “Michelle has breast cancer that has advanced to stage three. She’s been undergoing a much more aggressive form of chemotherapy. It’s depleting her energy and that has no competition for a toddler. So she needs all the help she can get,” Rayna shared.

“Oh, wow. I’m sorry to hear this. It’s fucked up…pardon my French. I didn’t know you had so much on your plate.” I was short of words and didn’t know where to go from there.

Rayna chimed in with, “There’s a lot that you don’t know about me, Azmir. Much of this is because I am not an open book. I have…major trust issues and it’s been a huge handicap for me over the years. But I’ve been able to skate passed it until now,” she disclosed.

I kept quiet to hear what she was trying to get out. It seemed a little painful for her but she was trying to get something off her chest and I was all ears. I stapled my eyes to hers agreeing to listen to
whatever she was prepared to share.

“Virtually, the only person I’ve been able to open up to is Michelle and I’m sure it’s come with some headaches for her. Being so guarded provides me protection and allows me to…to cruise beneath the radar with minimal damage. But it also comes with a great deal of loneliness. I mean
, I can take on a physical relationship without involving my heart with the best of them…but encountering you has…has illuminated my problems,” she paused with that.

As she spoke
, she avoided eye contact with me. Rayna was incredibly uncomfortable but I couldn’t hold her hand on this, she had to muster the courage to express herself. The one thing that terrified me concerning her was her inability to open up to me and freely convey her feelings, I needed this. I took a sip of my drink, never leaving her eyes.

She continued with, “I am
, by no means, asking you to take me in like a lost puppy. But I am telling you that…that…this thing between us…” she paused again. This time she chuckled to herself and craned her neck further showing her unease of this conversation. I waited.

She looked at me and I maintained my
fixated gaze on hers, showing she had my undivided attention. She jerked her chin in the air trying to regain composure. She even took a sip of her drink. At this point, humor had overtaken both of us, and together we laughed. Hell, I was even a little nervous at what was coming.

She finally forged ahead, “This thing between us
is good
. I like it and would like to see where it goes.”

At that
, I nodded my head and broke my silence with, “So would I.”

“Would you?” she asked and sighed in relief.

We laughed again. It was a bit awkward.

“Sure I would. Why wouldn’t I?” I admitted as the waiter came with our first course.

I picked up my fork, ready to dig in when she said, “Azmir.”

I looked up at her. “I really do apologize for my behavior. I hope to one day erase that image of me out of your memory.” she said with the most sincere and
docile look in her eyes. I was taken.

“It’s all good, little lady. Don’t sweat it
,” I tried to assure her.

“No, it is and was not. I am truly sorry.” Rayna looked away as she was contemplating her next set of words before returning her gaze upon me. “I’m not comfortable with the money thing. I hope you can understand that and honor it.” Her words were soft and earnest.

“What about
the money thing
, Ms. Brimm?” I needed to be clear. I am a wealthy man and didn’t like to be criticized for how I courted a woman, particularly one that I was very interested in. After this moment of candor I knew Ms. Brimm was that woman. She was what I wanted to acquire and I wanted to employ every resource available to me to gain her, to mark and brand her mine.
Shit

this feels crazy!

There was a shifting going on during this meal on this vineyard that would change my world forever. That force had a name.

Rayna Brimm.

“I just don’t need it. The car was a huge help and I really appreciate it…a lot. But you’ve shared a sneak
peek of your mind with me and I am in awe of your brilliance and tenacity.”
The tenacity that I am planning to exercise to win your heart
. I thought as she paused. “…that’s all I can bear right now, all I want and need.”

I nodded for the sole purpose of making Rayna feel secure. I knew the only way that I could possess her was to garner her trust. She was delicate and I should move accordingly. I was resigned to making
her mine from that moment on. I would try on her terms.

We enjoyed a
delicious dinner and once we were done, the waiter came with a box of Padron Family Reserve #44 Maduro and La Aroma de Cuba Mi Amor Magnifico among other stogies. I had to indulge. Rayna and I engaged in meaningful conversation while there basking in the picturesque scenery. She tried explaining her perspective on me paying off the Sebastian dude and tried to the best of her ability to describe her insecurities with trust. I felt her.

We walked the ranch and was back to our normal speed with laughing and light banter exchange. I can honestly say that we had chemistry
—sexually and mentally, it was just the emotional aspect that we had to reel in.
