“Our friend here doesn’t want to keep his eyes open. Do we have anything I can use to keep them open for him?” I smiled. Everything in my bag was too big but perhaps Red could find me some safety pins or a staple gun in his little first aid bag he carried.

“I got just the thing.” He turned around and walked back up the stairs. I took my daggers and laid them on the table as I waited for Red to return. This guy didn’t want to tell me what he knew. I was glad, I was hoping I would be able to play with him for a while. I had a lot of anger I needed to let out.

Red came back with his medical kit and set it on the table next to me. He opened it up and pulled out a medical stapler.

“Does it work just like a regular stapler?” I asked as I took it out of his hands.

“Pretty much. Same idea.” He shrugged.

I walked back over to where he was tied up. “Payne. Come hold his face still for me would ya.” I smiled as Payne walked over and grabbed his head to keep him still.

I lifted his eyelid and flipped it inside out and  stapled his eyelid to his eyebrow with two staples then did the same with his other eye, laughing as he screamed out with each staple.

"Thanks Payne." I gave him a smile as he nodded and let go of his head.

"Okay, now that you can see, why don't you look at this picture again and tell me if you have seen him."

"Fuck you, you psycho fucking bitch."

"Well I tried this the easy way and that's not working. So I suppose we should try this another way." I went back to the table and grabbed the daggers, flipping them in my hand as I walked back over to him.

"I know you know where my son is. You gave that away with the way you looked at his picture. I'm not stupid. So. You can tell me where he is and who has him. Or I can make you wish you were dead."

He didn't respond. Just sat there staring at me. I shrugged. "Fine. My way it is."

I took one dagger in each hand and slammed them into his thighs. He gritted his teeth as he tried to hold back his scream. It didn't work though. He screamed like a little bitch.

"Who did this?"

"Fuck. You."

I grabbed the other two daggers and slammed then into the top of his hands.

"Now. Just a name. That's it. Just a name. Who did this?"

"Fine just stop." He screamed in pain.

"Who did this." I pulled a knife with a serrated blade from my boot and pressed the pointed end under his chin. Pressing it hard enough that a drop of blood formed around the tip.

"Fuck. It was Theresa. She did this. That fucking bitch didn't come through with her deal anyways. Fucking cunt."

"Where is he?" I growled as I let it soak in as to who it was that was responsible for my son being kidnapped.

"A safe house." He spit. "On Twelfth."

I looked up at Trey.

"You know where that's at?"

He nodded.

"You better hope you’re right." I stood up. "Red make sure he stays alive."

I didn’t know who Theresa was or how the fuck she got brought into this but I was about to find out.

As we headed back to the clubhouse I called Angelo and let him know what we had just done considering what Guerrero’s crew was trying to do. He said he would look into it. I did my part, now I just hoped that Trix had better luck finding our son then I did. I tried calling her, no answer. I tried Nitro, again no answer. Last I tried Payne, still no answer.

“You hear anything yet?” Venom asked as I stared out the van window.

“No. And they aren’t answering their phones.”

By the time we made it back to the clubhouse I still hadn’t heard anything. No one had heard anything from them. I sat at the bar with a bottle of whiskey.

“Come on Nix.” Zoelle wrapped her arm around my shoulder.

“Get off me Zoe.”

“Nix, there isn’t anything you can do right now. Let me take your mind off things.”

“I said not right now,” I growled and pushed her arm from my shoulders.

“Fuck you Nix.”

“You think this is a game don’t you Zoe.”

She rolled her eyes as she stood in front of me with her arms crossed.

“My son is missing and instead of trying to help find him, you’re acting like you are almost happy that he is gone.”

“I’m not happy, it’s the world we live in Nix. People go missing every day and there isn’t a damn thing you can do to change it. It’s our reality.”

“You don’t think I know that Zoe. You don’t think I know that people go missing, I make them go missing. I know exactly what happens when someone goes missing. This is my son we are talking about though. And no matter if I find him or not, I will find who did this and make them pay for taking him from me.” I pushed away from her and walked out the back door.

I leaned against the wall and lit a cigarette. I tried calling Trix again and still no answer. I stared at the phone in my hand as if me staring at it hard enough would make it ring. Telling me they had found my son and were coming home.

“Hey Nix.” Venom came out and stood next to me.

“Hear anything?”

“Not yet. Want me to check the van’s location?” I took a drag of my cigarette and nodded. He turned to go inside and I followed. I needed to see with my own two eyes where the van was and where it was headed.

He pulled out his laptop and hit a few buttons.

“Looks like they are on their way back. About two hours away.”

I nodded. “Then why aren’t they answering their fucking phones?”

“Don’t know, all we can do now is wait for them to get here.”

I sat in my office as the minutes ticked by, waiting for them to pull up. By the time two hours had passed I was getting nervous. I left my office and paced by the door as I waited for them to show up. Waiting to find out if my son had been found or not.

I heard the door open and turned around as Trix walked in holding our son. Nitro behind her as he grabbed her by her shoulders and took Zaiden from her arms. She was pissed, the look on her face said it all, and she was coming straight for me. I stood still as she charged me. Her hands fisted at her sides until she reached me. Swinging her right arm she caught me right in the jaw.

“What the fuck?”

She stared at me. “You stupid ass mother fucker,” she screamed. Nitro who had handed Zaiden off was standing between us.

“Not here Trix, not here. Show him for himself.”

She looked up at him and nodded. Then smiled. Something about that smile didn’t seem as though it was because she was happy.

Chapter Twenty Eight

“Oh yeah. I got something I want to show you Nix.” I grinned at him. Theresa was bound and gagged and should be in place at the moment. I walked through the kitchen and down the narrow staircase to the basement. The room was dark except for the dim light that hovered over Theresa’s still body. She was alive. I knew she was. I wanted to keep her that way for now. And when the time came to kill her I was going to do it very slowly and she would have company.

“What’s this?” Nix asked. I turned to him as he rubbed his chin where I had punched him. He fucking deserved way worse than that punch but he was going to have to wait.

“This here is Theresa and she has a nice little story to tell you. Don’t worry she isn’t hurt. Not yet at least.”

I went to the sink and grabbed a dirty bucket off the floor and filled it with water before walking over to her and throwing the bucket of water on Theresa who was tied to  the chair in the middle of the room. “Time to wake up.” She coughed and twisted in the chair. “Time to tell us your story again and don’t leave out any details. Why don’t you start by telling us who you are.” She looked up at me with her big brown eyes.

“I, ah.” She sputtered. “It wasn’t my fault, she made me do it.”

“Theresa, tell my friend here who made you do it and tell him what you did.”

“She told me to take the boy and keep him safe, that he was in danger and I needed to keep him until she could figure out where to take him.”

“Who, Theresa, tell us who told you to take my son?”

“Zoelle, she said she needed my help and I needed to keep the boy safe.”

“Did she tell you who you were keeping him safe from?”

“She said he was like us, that he would end up like us, that he was stolen and going to end up being raised to be one of the guys who took us.”

“So you mean to tell me that Zoelle and you know each other?”

“Yes we were both saved from human trafficking, both of us were taken at the same time, after a year we were rescued by Angelo. We went our separate ways but we always stayed in touch.”

“That’s enough,” I growled. “Red knock her out again.” I turned to look at Nix to see if he showed any remorse or anything, knowing that his wife was the one who was behind it all.

“So, Nix, have anything you want to say before I go upstairs and take your wife by her hair and slit her fucking throat?”

“Venom.”

“Yes Prez.”

“Bring my cunt of a wife down here and don’t let her know what is going on.”

“On it.”

I stared at him. He knew now.

“Got anything to say about this before I kill your wife Nix?”

“Let me hear her side first. I don’t know if I can trust what this bitch just said.”

“I have her phone with texts and voice messages if you need more proof. Or would you like to call Angelo and make sure her story about how they met is correct or not. Because you see I already did that. Turns out she isn’t lying, and the number Zoelle has been using to text her isn’t one of ours, seems as though she has another one that you don’t know about. See we traced it, and that phone is at your house right now Nix. Funny isn’t it.”

“I said let me talk to Zoelle first Trix, then we will decide what happens to her as a fucking club.”

“She’s gone.”

“Who’s gone.” We all turned and looked at Venom.

“Zoelle. Calissta is gone also.”

“Are you fucking serious? I thought we were on a lockdown. How the fuck did she slip out?” Nix growled.  “Venom get everything you have on her and trace her phone and the phone she was using. I’ll  call Angelo and let him know what’s going on.”

“If any of you find her, I want her alive.” I stared at Nix the entire time I spoke. I wanted them to know that her death would be with my hands.

“Payne?”

“Trix?”

“Care to keep me company? I need to get myself right before I can go back to my son.”

“Sure.” Payne smiled at me.

Nix stared at me before turning and leaving the basement leaving Payne and I alone with Theresa.

“What do you need Trix?”

I walked over to him and pushed him back against the wall. “Just you.” I looked up at him as I reached to unhook his belt.

“What are you doing?”

“What’s it look like I’m doing Payne.”

He grabbed my wrists and pushed away from me. “Not like this Trix.”

“What do you mean not like this?”

“Look at yourself Trix. You’re covered in dry blood from the guy you killed earlier. You were just about to kill two more people. You really want to know why I don’t want to do this?”

“I don’t see what the problem is Payne. I thought there was something here between us. I guess not.”

“You know Trix I thought there was too. But what it really is, is that you were using me. You will never be ready to leave Nix, no matter what you say, you are still fucking him even though he is married. And this shit you want right now, I can’t do that. I can’t be with you when you’re like this. And as much as I want there to be something between us, I know I will never be anything but second best to you because I’m not him and I never will be.” He turned and walked away from me leaving me alone with Theresa. I looked over at her lifeless body wanting nothing more than to put a knife through her chest. But she would have to wait. I needed something more than a stiff drink and after listening to what Payne said sink in, I knew who I really needed.
