Conviction

During this second step, we search for any potential sins in order to deal with them. Though we may feel a sense of reproof and correction from portions of Scripture, the desired response is repentance in order to change and move forward. Do any portions of Psalm 51 promote a sense of conviction within you?

Convincing

What positive motivations do you find in the Scripture passage that convince you to lead a righteous life?

Conversion

Conversion is not a one-time event, but a transformation that results in living differently as a result of exposure to God’s truth. Do any portions of Psalm 51 cause you to want to begin to live differently?

TIME COMMITMENT:

45 minutes

“Ultimately the mirror of God’s Word brings about a conversion, meaning that we actually begin to live differently as a result of our exposure to the truth. That transformation begins the moment we come to faith, which is why we refer to that milestone as a conversion. But true conversion is not a one-time event; it’s an ongoing process of becoming more and more like Christ. That process doesn’t end until we go to be with Christ” (p. 305).
