It was raining, raining so hard not even a dog could
get across the back-yard safely. The apple orchard
was already under two inches of water. the water was
already up to the first step on the screened-in-back
porch.
Jeff, Ken, Karen, and Darla slept soundly in their
rooms. Suddenly Jeff awoke, 8 years but scared, he
popped out of bed to check on the twins. They two
were awake, but as calm as two kids could be. He
gathered them up in his arms and said, "You stay here
while I get Darla." Out of the room, down the hall,
and into her room. "How dare you" she said in surprise. "Come on," he yelled so to not awaken their
parents. So down the hall they all trotted, Darla, Ken,
Karen, and Jeff. Mother and Father were drinking coffee when they called them to come down. Later when the twins had fallen asleep,Mother said, "It's a flood
and the moving van will be here in a moment." The
next day all you could see was the top of the house.
Insects, snakes, dead animals, broken of limps of
trees, people swimming for their lives, roofs, furniture, and turned over boats. Rain stilled poured down
in buckets and soon the water would reach the height
of the dam and the whole valey would be washed
away.
Thenn all of a sudden Ken shouted "Jeff youv'e
got to save him Jeff, you've just got too." So he dove
into the rushing river and resued the half dead sheep.
The rain stopped and the dam didn't brake. A month
later the house was ready to be lived in.
