“Ok momma, I will. Before I go is there anything else you need?” she asked.

“No.”

“Ok then. I’m leaving now.”

The dining area was cozy warm, lit by the small fireplace that
Savannah
hardly every used. This night, however, she’d decided to pull out all of her good silverware, dishes, and the pieces of lingerie that Jazzy had talked her into purchasing. She stared at her reflection in the bathroom mirror and wondered what exactly it was that Kevin seemed to be so enamored about in her, then wondered if any other man saw the same thing.  Hell, she knew she looked good and that Kevin was thrilled to have her. Reaching inside her bra, she lifted her breasts so that they sat just right in the bra she’d just brought and then covered herself with her thin robe.

Not really one for cooking, she’d prepared a quick, but delicious meal
made up of baked salmon garnished
with fresh parsley and a lemon mixture drizzled over it, asparagus tips, a roasted garlic pasta salad, and white wine. All of this was on a whim because she was not one hundred percent sure that he was actually going to come through this evening. Then again, he had been so regular with his three nightly visits each week, she was pretty sure that he was coming this evening since he hadn’t the previous two nights. He’d be surprised to see that she went through so much trouble to please him. Hell, she surprised herself. Never, in a million years would she have thought that she
’d be
acting like a love struck, high school student. Especially now
,
at twenty nine, she s
houldn’t be so taken by any man
since she had already gotten a taste of  drama and heartache before. Reasoning that each relationship and situation is different and garbage baggage shouldn’t present itself in other relationships, she’d decided to give this one a fresh start…minus the dreadful memories of the past. He made it easy for her to forget the past by treating her like the queen she knew she already was.

This time, she thought, Kevin was different. She’d taken things a bit slower and wasn’t as hasty to jump his bones, no matter how hard it was at first to resist. Glad she was now past that state, she could be more free. And free she had become. They’d spent a lot of their free time together and she was more comfortable being herself with him than she could remember being with anyone else.

Underneath her dark brown, clay mask, she smiled, thinking of all the delights she had in store for him this evening. Bending down to wash her face clean, the door bell rang.

“Damn, he is early,” she said and then scrambled to her bedroom to at least slip on some comfortable jeans. She opted to not answer the door half clothed for fear of them not eating after all the thought she put into prepar
ing
it.

“You’re earlier than--”  she stopped talking as she found Richard standing on the other side of her door. “What are you doing here?” she asked, surprised by his presence.

“Hey lady,” he sauntered past
her, heading for a seat. “I
was
just
in the neighborhood and decided to stop by.” He took a good look at her, soaking in the fact that she was really surprised to see him, probably more so than he was to just be in the area.

“Hi. What’s up?”

“Looks like I caught you at a bad time, huh?” He smiled. “I just rolled by to say hi and I wanted to talk to you about someone…..”

“Who is it?” she glanced towards the door. “You are alone aren’t you? I’m not trying to be rude, but yes, I was or am kind of busy.”

“Déjà vu,” he laughed.  One of his dreads fell from his pulled back ponytail. “I remember this happening before, only it was you coming in on me. She is not with me right now.”

“I remember. I remember that you were in a hurry, just as I am now.” She glanced at the wall clock.  “Is this woman you want me to meet the same one that you were seeing before? Is this the same woman that has been keeping you occupied?” She winked at him.

“Yep, her name is Naomi.
But I can bring her by another time. She is kind of new in town and I just wanted her to get acquainted with some people. I thought that maybe you and Jasmine could take her out. You know get some girly time in.”

“Sounds like love to me. Either that or you just want my approval?”

“Whatever, I will talk to you later. Take care of your business…and be careful because I am sure that all of this is for that Kevin dude,” he said as he waved his hand in the air.

“As a matter of fact, it is. I will be careful. I promise.” She kissed him on the cheek and let him out the door, then rushed back to her bedroom.

After a quick shower,
Savannah
dressed and added the finishing touches to the dinner. Setting an intimate table for two,
Savannah
delighted in thinking of what would come afterwards, her stomach warmed and flipped at the same time. Jazzy was right, she was falling, despite as much as she tried to deny it. She found herself watching him on the news more often than she would ever admit to him, knowing that he probably already knew. Just as sure as the ocean was blue, she knew that she loved him already. Now it was time to take him to her family.

Another hour had passed before
Savannah
started to wonder what the hold up was. Her Vanilla scented candles had started to burn well into the second hour and had whittled themselves down about three quarters in length. He hadn’t called or anything. Now closer to 10:30 p.m., a slight case of worry set in only to be cut short by a faint knock at the door.

“Hey baby, I’m sorry I’m late…I had some stuff to clean up at work that needed to be done tonight. I know I should have called,” he said, brushing by her and bypassing her questioning face and half clothed body. She’d
gone
through so much trouble to look good for him and he hadn’t even noticed.

Savannah
decided to not question him and to let him just talk. She followed him to the dining area. “Are you hungry?” She squashed the worried, and slightly upset feelings and decided that now that he was there, she’d make the best of it.

“I’m starving.” He loosened his tie and sat at the table. His strong grasp enclosed her by the waist as she passed by. “By the way, baby, you look good…So can I have dessert….after dessert?” He flashed his pearly white teeth, with the whole intention of keeping her mind occupied with hopes of what was to come as opposed to what had just transpired.

“Ha, ha, very funny. I see you got jokes…I will fix you a plate. I’m not hungry now. Besides it’s too late for me to eat.”

He could hear the disappointment in her voice. “I said I was sorry. I should have called,” he said as he removed his shirt completely and got relaxed at the table. “I will make it up to you.”

Savannah
fixed his plate and sat beside him while he devoured its contents. “So did you get things taken care of?”

“Yes, it’s all good now. But now that I am here, let’s not talk about working. Let’s talk about us and what we are going to do.” He took the last bite of food.

“Do about what?” she questioned.

“Besides, I know you didn’t go through all of this…” he waved his hand towards the burning candles then looked back at her… “to talk to me about work.” He flashed another smile. His clean shaven head glistened and
his
diamond earring sparkled as he tilted his head, giving her his infamous newscasters smile. He continued to eat
,
and finished while she watched.

“The food was great and
you are absolutely beautiful,” he said as he pulled her close to him. They laid there on her sitting room floor on a plush area rug in front of her lit fireplace.

“Thanks. Speaking of food…are you ready to meet my family? You know our dinner is tomorrow night.”

“I am ready if you are,” he answered. Propping himself up on his elbow, he cupped her face in his strong palm. “But right now, I’m ready to enjoy you. The family will be there tomorrow. I need you tonight.”

Savannah
quickly forgot
what she was going to say as he
removed his briefs and positioned himself over her.
H
eat rose past her throat and into her face as she eyed his lust filled eyes. Arching her body to meet his, she ached in anticipation of his entrance. His hot tongue and mouth encased her breast, leaving her breathless as he used the tip of his tongue to bring her nipple to a hardness that threatened to explode. She sighed, took a deep breath and pulled him down on her while wrapping her legs around his waist.

“Kevin, quit teasing me,” she said as she rolled him over and lay on top of him.

He looked up at her, smiled and removed his hands from her waist. “That’s what I’m talking about,” he said.  “A take charge kind of woman. Baby, go for what you know.” He clasped his hands behind his head and she positioned herself perfectly for his entrance, then slid her mouth down…slowly at first, circling the tip of his hardness with her tongue. He shuddered and moaned with complete pleasure as she began to move faster
,
manipulating him with her mouth. Her hot breath and warm mouth accommodated him perfectly.

He palmed the back of her head as if he was her teacher and she was his obedient student, and pressed her firmly down on him so that he could be wholly consumed. She hesitated, relaxed her throat muscles, and took him all in with a little more ease.

Surprised at herself because she was not usually aggressive as far as sex was concerned, she inwardly smiled knowing that she had been opened up by this man. At his gentle urgings she’d become less automated and more free in her sexual experiences and was completely enjoying it.

In the midst of his hazed thoughts and mind, a gentle buzz vibrated next to him. Glancing down at
Savannah
, then to his pants that were laying there beside them, he pushed them away towards the couch.

“Okay,” he said, “my turn,” he rolled her onto her back and spread her while he stared into her eyes. He lowered his head and probed her with his tongue. Completely in awe, she thrashed her head back and forth, trying to hold herself from exploding in such a short time. Although it turned out that he was an expert at controlling when he and how he came, she still had yet to
gain
that control. She believed he got a kick out of bringing her to the exact point before she exploded then stopped, only to restart the whole process all over again. That absolutely drove her crazy and she loved every minute of it.

After getting his fill of her taste, he raised himself up over her and went for the grand entrance. He throbbed in anticipation. She willingly opened herself up to him, inviting him without hesitation. In fact, she pulled him down into her, not wanting to waste another minute in sweet agony. Both throbbed and moved wildly in unison expecting to climax together. Shortly thereafter, Kevin brought her to the edge, took one last thrust and they both were spent. They laid together in silence,
Savannah
rubbing his chest and face lovingly while he heard the faint reminder buzz that shook the cell phone just across the room.

Chapter 9

A throbbing headache interrupted her hazed, early morning sleep. She lay there drifting in between worlds of dream and reality. Naomi
, crossing over the limp
lump that Richard now had become, drug herself from her bed and headed towards the kitchen for her morning coffee. Passing the bathroom on the way, she stopped mid stride, remembering that she’d forgotten to take her birth control pill last night. Popping her pill without water, she continued. Now that she’d gotten herself in tip top shape, there was no way that she wanted to become pregnant and lose the beautifully toned body she now had.
