“I’ve been sort of seeing someone. We had a bit of a fight about a week ago. He more or less dared me to find you. He dared me to be more honest with him and with myself. I don’t know if we’ll continue to see each other.”

“You like him,” Bobby said.

“I do.”

“You should tell him. I think when he sees you again, he’ll see a different man, not the one he dared to find me. And keep in mind, if you come out, this will not be the first time you’ve been honest and made a major change. You found me and told me the truth. You left Urlack for West Hollywood. You left West Hollywood and came home. This change may even be less traumatic than you fear it will be.”

Wes sat not speaking for a few moments before standing up. “I should get going. Your family’s probably wondering where you are.”

Bobby stood. “Would you like to meet Sylvia? She thinks I don’t have a past because I don’t talk about it. She might like meeting you, but if you could find some way to gloss over the porn stuff, that would be much appreciated.”

“Not today. Some other time. Thanks for seeing me and talking to me.”

Bobby led Wes from his office back through the sanctuary and into the foyer. Wes looked through the glass of the front doors. Dusk had arrived.

“You’re welcome to come back any time you like. I like to think I’m doing good work here,” Bobby said.

Wes looked at him. “I’m sure you are. You know, I think I just wanted to see you. I’ve missed you. There were so many guys we worked with who died. You disappeared, and I didn’t know what happened. I wanted to see that you were all right.”

And then Bobby hugged him. They hugged for a very long time. For a moment, it felt just like being on the set. Out of sight of the other cast members and crew, sometimes Bobby and Wes hugged each other at the end of a day of shooting. It was often the best part of the day for Wes, especially toward the end of his porn career.

When they stopped hugging, Bobby said, “I am all right. Thanks for checking up on me.”

As he drove home, Wes felt almost giddy. He wondered what he had been so afraid of for so long.

Chapter Nine

Wes saw Jesse first. He was with two small, energetic dogs, one of which had wound the leash it was attached to around one of Jesse’s legs. It was early October. Since Wes’ visit to Kanleen, Wes and Jesse had exchanged a few texts and even talked to each other on the phone. Wes told Jesse about visiting his old flame. Jesse said he was willing to give him a second chance if Wes would do the same, but they hadn’t managed to get together in person. Their busy schedules plus the fact that Wes’ mother had to go into the hospital for gallbladder surgery and Jesse went on vacation had meant that they had a hard time scheduling a date. Wes was in Jesse’s neighborhood to show a house to a client, but the client was running late. Wes got out of his car and walked over to Jesse.

“Hey. When did you get dogs?” Wes asked.

Jesse was unwinding the leash that had gotten wrapped around his leg. He looked up, startled. “Oh. Hi, Wes. They’re not mine. I’m pet sitting for a neighbor.”

“They’re cute.” Wes squatted down to let one of the dogs, a French bulldog, sniff his fingers.

“That’s Clyde,” Jesse said. “The Yorkie here is Obie, short for Oberon.”

Obie barked as if to confirm the information. He began vying for Wes’ attention. Wes petted both dogs.

“They’re a handful probably,” Wes said, chuckling a little when Clyde licked his chin.

“You’re right about that. You showing a house here?”

“Yep. My client’s running late. I saw you with these two fine fellows and thought I’d say hello.” Wes stood up.

“Are those your clients?” Jesse cocked his head.

Wes looked over his shoulder and saw a middle-aged couple. He waved. “That’s them all right.”

“Yeah.” Wes watched the dogs sniff around the grass. He took a step or two away, then turned back to Jesse. “I’d like to see you sometime soon.”

Wes left Jesse to meet up with his clients. He felt his back tingle. He wondered if it meant that Jesse watched him as he walked away.

Wes invited Jesse to Gary and Jeff’s annual bad horror movie night, which of course coincided with Halloween. Jesse accepted the invitation. Every year, Wes arrived early to help turn an outbuilding, normally used for storage, into a theater. He was pleasantly surprised when Jesse agreed to come with him and help. They had been on one date about a week ago, and Wes, at Jesse’s urging, had driven them to a secluded area that had been a popular make-out spot for local teenagers for years. A steady rain that night meant that Wes’ car was the only one there. As he and Jesse had kissed, stroked and groped each other, it occurred to Wes that he was having a high school experience he had never actually had in high school. When he told Jesse about that possibility, they both giggled.

“You make me feel young,” Wes had said that night.

“You make me feel good,” Jesse had replied.

Setting up the outbuilding for movie night reminded Wes a bit of the times back in high school when he had helped set up for drama club productions. This was on a smaller scale, but it had many similar qualities: the joking around, the flirting with a cute guy and the occasional sneeze from dust. At one point, Wes grabbed a broom that had been propped up in the corner and began singing a verse of a Rolling Stones’ song. He gyrated and twisted. When he finished, Jesse clapped.

“Who were you supposed to be?” Jesse asked.

“What? Mick Jagger, of course. You know who Mick Jagger is, right? Don’t tell me a young’un like you has never heard of the Rolling Stones.”

Jesse rolled his eyes. “Of course I’ve heard of the Rolling Stones. It’s just that your Mick Jagger looked more like a cross between Chubby Checker and Elvis Presley.”

Wes sighed in a mocking way. “Everyone’s a critic.”

“Don’t get me wrong,” Jesse said as he picked up a stacked of chairs and moved them to the center of the room. “I like your hip swivel. I’d like some fries with that shake.”

“Wow. My Mick Jagger might not have looked much like Mick Jagger, but at least I don’t indulge in Buddy Hackett-level jokes,” Wes said.

Jesse’s brow furrowed. “Who’s Buddy Hackett?”

Wes shook his head. “I’m going to have to educate you all about grade z pop culture from back in the day. Who’s Buddy Hackett indeed?”

“I look forward to it.” Jesse kissed him.

They finished getting the outbuilding ready for movie night with a little help from a few other guys. He thought a lot about kissing Jesse again. Tonight would be fun, but he wished they were alone.

Later, sitting in the darkness of the outbuilding turned makeshift cinema holding Jesse’s hand, Wes felt at ease. He caught Jesse looking at him throughout the evening with a mixture of desire and wonder. About thirty guys had crammed into the outbuilding for a double bill of bad horror movies chosen by Jeff, the bad movie connoisseur. The movies were howlers but not because they were scary. During the intermission between the two movies, many of the guys, including Wes and Jesse, left the outbuilding to go back to the house for more refreshments and snacks. When Wes and Jesse neared the house, they took a detour. They stopped under a tree and kissed.

“I think I’d rather be alone with you than watch another crappy movie,” Wes said.

“Come on over to my place then.” Jesse started pulling him away from the tree.

Wes, mindful of what Jesse had said in their big fight about never going over to his place, said, “We could go to my place.”

“I’d like to sometime soon, but I think I’d rather be properly introduced to your mother before I spend the night there with you.”

“Okay. It’s a deal. Mom’s dying to meet you anyway. Yes, I told her about you.”

Chapter Ten

Wes had told Jesse in text messages and calls about finding Bobby Hawkes, and Wes had clearly changed. He was happy and less burdened when he came up to Jesse the day he was walking the neighbor’s dogs. There were other little things Jesse noticed on their dates. Wes had put an HRC bumper sticker on his car. He had put rainbow flag and HRC stickers on the windows of his office. In a nod to nostalgia, Wes had found a pink triangle sticker somewhere and had stuck that in his office window, too.

Tonight, in Jesse’s apartment, Jesse thought Wes looked really hot. He always looked well groomed, but there was a growing lightness to him that was enormously appealing. Wes was wearing jeans that showed some curve to his ass and highlighted his crotch bulge. Maybe some of the old Wes Western was coming back to life? He smelled Wes’ musk tinged with a touch of cologne.

“I’m going to treat you like a porn star tonight,” he said with a big smile and a glint in his eye before he kissed Jesse deeply. “I’m ready to be more than good enough, and I’m ready to do more than just a blow job.”

Jesse parted his lips and let Wes’ tongue in. He was delicious. Jesse felt Wes’ hand rub up and down his fly. Jesse had no idea what being treated like a porn star meant, but he was excited by the possibility. They were still kissing as they stumbled into Jesse’s bedroom.

Wes pulled away. He pushed Jesse down onto the bed, sat down next to him and started fumbling with Jesse’s fly. “You know, life isn’t anything like porn. If this was a movie, you would have a fly that would be easy to slide open. Tape and snaps and oil on the zipper would make it look effortless.” Wes unbuttoned the top of Jesse’s jeans.

“Oh, I thought there was some secret technique to it.”

“Nope, props were very important.” Wes unzipped Jesse’s jeans, revealing a pair of royal blue cotton briefs. Wes started kissing Jesse again and placed his hand on Jesse’s growing bulge. Jesse wrapped his arms around Wes and pulled him in close enough for their chests to touch. Wes had this beautiful gut, and Jesse couldn’t wait to see him naked.

Wes pulled away. “Do you really want me to fuck you?”

“Yes. Yes, I really do. I’ve been wanting it for months, and I have plenty of condoms,” Jesse said. “I douched earlier.”

“Well, you’re going to need more than that.” Wes stood up and took off his shirt to reveal his hairy torso. Jesse stared at Wes’ body hair which was mostly black with the occasional grey. His belly looked even more delicious naked.

“You’re sure that I’m not too fat and old for you?” Wes said, undoing his belt and unzipping his jeans, revealing a pair of tartan briefs. He stuck out his belly.

“You are exactly what I want,” said Jesse. He walked over to the nightstand and pulled out condoms and some lube. “Exactly. And you’re a lot hairier than I remember. Wonderful.”

“Age,” Wes said, taking off the last of his clothes. “And I know I was known as the hairy porn star, but even I got shaved at least a little before a shoot. I’m going to show you. Where’s your razor and shaving cream? I need shaving cream. Oh, and I need a towel.”

Jesse finished getting naked before dashing to the bathroom and grabbing his favorite safety razor. He handed it along with some shaving cream and a towel to Wes.

“What are you going to do?” said Jesse with a smile. They were both standing there naked with their dicks half-hard.

“Lay down on your stomach,” said Wes. “I’m going to treat you like a porn star, and then I’m going to fuck you.” Wes paused for a moment. He seemed to just be taking everything in.

“Wow. It’s been a long time since I’ve said that,” said Wes. “It’s been just blow jobs for years. I was really holding myself back, but it’s time. Are you ready?”

Jesse nodded and did as Wes said. He felt Wes get on the bed behind him.

“Your ass is so firm.” Wes grabbed one of Jesse’s butt cheeks.

Jesse heard Wes give the can of shaving cream a shake. Then Wes used one hand to spread Jesse’s ass cheeks and the other to spray cream around Jesse’s asshole. The cream felt cold and wet. Jesse’s cock got a little harder.

“Porn stars shave their assholes and other bits that the camera really needs to see,” said Wes as he ran the razor around Jesse’s asshole. “Fortunately, you have a fairly smooth ass. There’s not a lot to shave.”

It’s true
, thought Jesse,
I’m really not that hairy
. He moaned as Wes removed the last hair from his rear and then wiped his ass with a towel, removing cream and cut hair.

“I never thought shaving could be such a turn-on,” said Jesse, his cock getting fully hard.

“You know, when it’s work, it’s not. Fortunately, this isn’t work.” Wes kissed Jesse’s ass and then slapped it lightly. “Turn over, handsome.”

Jesse turned over, his cock popping up perpendicular from his groin. He blew Wes a kiss.

Wes applied some shaving cream to Jesse’s balls and the base of his penis. “Porn stars generally have seven-inch dicks, or at least we want you to think we do. Shaving the balls and around the penis makes everything look bigger.”

Wes wrapped one hand around Jesse’s cock, and Jesse let out another moan. It felt so good. Wes held the razor in the other hand and removed the hair that surrounded Jesse’s shaft. He then turned his attention to Jesse’s balls.

“Don’t move,” Wes said. “Getting cuts down there is a really bad idea. I speak from experience.”

“Ouch,” said Jesse. He held as still as he could as the razor ran over his nut sac.

Again, Wes wiped him clean with the towel, and then his mouth descended on Jesse’s hard penis. Jesse stared into Wes’ eyes as his mouth pumped up and down.

Wes pulled away, got off the bed, and stood up. “I’m going to fuck you, but first you need to fluff me.”

Jesse got off the bed and got on his knees in front of Wes. He licked up and down Wes’ shaft. He kissed Wes’ hairy balls. He wrapped his lips around Wes’ dick.

Wes pushed Jesse off of his dick. He lowered his face so he was eye to eye with Jesse. “You would have been a good fluffer,” said Wes. “Are you ready to get fucked by Wes Western? Wes Mitchell? Whoever the hell I am.”

“Oh, yes, Mr. Wes Western Mitchell.”

Jesse got back on the bed on his hands and knees. He could feel a breeze on his newly hairless ass. He was surprised that the skin felt so fresh and so new.

Jesse heard Wes tear open the condom wrapper and slip on the condom. Wes popped open the tub of lube. “Hmmm, Boy Butter. What will they think of next?”

Jesse felt Wes’ lube-covered fingers slide up and down his ass crack. They circled his asshole, tickling the bare flesh. Wes kissed one ass cheek and then the other. He leaned over and whispered in Jesse’s ear.

“If this had been a real porn shoot, we would have already been interrupted a dozen times and repositioned. That stopping and starting always made it difficult to stay hard and maintain momentum.”

“I’m glad this isn’t a real porn shoot. Please don’t stop.” Pre-cum was dripping from Jesse’s dick. He relaxed his asshole. He wanted Wes inside him so badly.

Wes got on the bed behind Jesse. Wes’ dick rubbed gently up and down Jesse’s ass crack. Wes parted Jesse’s ass cheeks. Wes’ dick touched Jesse’s asshole. Wes moved slowly. First his cockhead entered Jesse’s ass. He pushed it in and out, but just the head, just enough to tease.

Then, Jesse felt Wes’ dick penetrate him halfway. Oh, he wanted so much more. He pushed his ass back, trying to take in all of Wes’ dick.

“Have patience, Jesse. You’ll get it all.” Wes pulled out.

“Please,” said Jesse, looking back into Wes’ eyes. He looked so happy. “Fuck me now.”

“Oh yeah,” said Wes. “I’ve still got it.” He pushed his dick fully into Jesse’s ass. Jesse could feel Wes’ hands on his back. He could feel Wes’ breath on the back of his neck. Wes pumped slowly at first and then started to move more quickly in and out of Jesse’s ass. Wes’ balls bounced against Jesse’s ass cheeks. They both started to grunt and moan ever louder.

“Oh, God, yes,” yelled Jesse. “Fuck me, Wes. Fuck me.”

The bed rocked back and forth. Jesse reached back and grabbed his own cock. He slid his hand up and down the shaft.

“I’m going to come,” yelled Jesse.

“Oh yeah,” said Wes.

Jesse’s white spunk started to flow from the tip of his penis. Wes let out one more mighty yell before pulling out one last time. Jesse collapsed on the bed. Wes pulled off the condom, tied it off and threw it out.

Wes rejoined Jesse on the bed. They fell asleep in each other’s arms.

The next morning, when Jesse woke up, the space next to him was empty, but he could hear noises in the kitchen that sounded like breakfast. When Jesse got to the kitchen, Wes smiled warmly.
Damn, he’s sexy,
Jesse thought.

“Good morning,” said Jesse. “How long have you been up?”

“Not long, and I was thinking,” said Wes. “I’ve got an idea for a YouTube web series I’d like you to help me with.”
