The lights of Lenny’s Ferrari were on full beams. Jay’s feelings toward him were that of such contempt. Twenty two years old and he had more court appearances behind him than anyone Jay knew.

“You’re late.” He said as he got into the car. Lenny laughed that dumb stupid laugh of his. It really irritated Jay.

“You know man; I had business with that Rasta bitch.” Jay swore under his breath. He would put a slug in him if he didn’t shut up.

“Let’s get this over with.” They drove off.

An hour or so later, they were pulling in to the dark warehouse. Jay got out and opened the trunk of the Ferrari. A tall man wearing a dark suit and a red shirt came over to them. He was like your archetypal nineteen fifties Latin screen icon. His moustache was pencil thin and his hair greased back. Jay smiled to himself.

“Rock star, you have done well.” He said. And went around to the trunk of the car. “We have another little chore for you.” as he reached in and took out the box. The Mexican opened it and looked inside and handed Jay an envelope. Jay said to him.

“Tell your fucking boss, I’m not doing this anymore.” He was walking away.

“Rock star, you belong to us. Never forget that, asshole!” Jay turned around but the Mexican was standing there pointing a gun at him. “What would that beautiful girlfriend do if I were to put a slug in you? Maybe I could do her for you.” Lenny shot Jay a fearful look.

Jay swore to himself, he hated this. Sure, he had made a bit of easy money selling a few keys here and there but it was his usin that got him so far under their thumb.

“Fuck you, fuck all of you.” He walked away and got into the Ferrari and Lenny drove him back to his own car.

He got into his Porsche and called Steve. A short time later, he met Steve for a few beers.

By the time he had finished the first beer, Jay was calming down significantly. He was relaxing.

Steve was telling him about how he was meeting Lisa later. Jay laughed and said:

“What will you do if Nick finds out?” Steve joked and said he would run. “Serious man, that skank isn’t worth it.” He took a sip from the bottle.

“Dude, you want to come with me; she’s up for anything.” Jay finished his beer and said:

“Sure, be back in a minute.” He went to the men’s room. He looked at his watch it was gone ten. He would phone Sam and tell her he was shooting pool with Steve.

Steve picked up Lisa and drove her to a motel. As he pulled in Jay was already waiting. He waved at them. He could see her smile.

Inside in the room, Jay opened a bottle of beer for each of them. Lisa took it and put her arm around Jay’s neck and kissed him on the mouth passionately.

“I love you Jay, you know that.” He took the bottle from her and put it on the table and took her in his arms, kissing her deeply.

“Hey man, gotta share here.” Steve said laughing. Lisa looked at him and was giggling.

“Got something for me Stevie?” She asked sweetly. He laughed.

“You know where the drug store is.” Jay took out a couple of sachets from his pocket and threw it on the bed.

Lisa went over and opened it. She put her finger inside and then in her mouth. She was smiling. Jay took off his tee shirt and went over to her. He unzipped her dress and slipped it off her shoulder and grabbing her thighs he kissed her neck. She closed her eyes; he would make love to her, like she always wanted him to. Steve got up and came over. He tore off her panties and began to put his fingers inside her, she moaned as he fingered her. Then she felt him enter her,

“Jay!” She moaned. Steve laughed as he banged her. Jay was cutting some cocaine with his credit card. He took a sip from his beer. Glancing every now and then over at Steve banging Lisa.

He couldn’t stand it anymore; he took off his belt and pulled Steve off her. Steve glared at Jay.

“What the fuck!” When he saw the belt in Jay’s hand he began to pull himself off as Jay began to beat her ass with the leather belt.

Without any foreplay he entered her, she moaned as he banged her hard. As he came he withdrew and said:

“The skank is all yours, Steve!” Steve gave Lisa some more coke and entered her again.

He climaxed but she had fallen asleep.

Jay laughed as Steve said:

“Fuckin, bitch, fell asleep.” Jay put back on his tee shirt and said to Steve,

“Dude, I am going home.” He picked up his car keys. Steve looked at Lisa lying on the bed. She was sound asleep.

“What about her?” He asked. Jay looked at her. He hated her. He hated her because it was so easy to turn her into a whore. He hated her because she was a liability. She could ruin what he had with Sam and she could ruin the band. She had the power to split them up.

“Fuck her. Let her sleep it off.” They both laughed and went to their cars.

Jay gave Steve a high five and said:

“Later dude.” He got into his car and sped home.

Sam was asleep when he got in. He looked in at the cot where Jaime was sleeping and kissed her goodnight.

Quietly he crept out of her room. He went down the hall and into his own room. He looked at Sam. Her face was so beautiful. Her eyes moving, she was dreaming. Jay kissed her forehead and went into the shower.

He closed his eyes as the water, washed over him. This was the last time that he would ever cheat on Sam. He was taking a big risk, fucking Lisa. If Sam were to find out she would take Jaime and leave him. He couldn’t imagine his life without either of them.

As he wrapped the towel around his waist, he took the other towel and dried his hair.

Looking at his reflection in the mirror, he knew he looked good for his age. The drugs really hadn’t impacted him too much but he would never use them again.

For the sake of his daughter and Sam, he would quit this excessive lifestyle that was sure to kill him.

He turned out the light in the bathroom and pulling back the sheet slid in beside Sam. She was naked. He traced the outline of her body gently with his finger. She turned over onto her back. He smiled as she moaned something incoherent.

Jay lay down and putting his arm around her fell asleep.

Chapter Forty One

Jay awoke to the smell of freshly brewed coffee. He could hear the radio on downstairs in the kitchen. Sam was singing. He got up and pulled on some shorts.

He went to the bathroom to relieve himself, flushed the toilet and washed his hands. As he looked in the mirror, he thought he could do with shaving. He hadn’t shaved in a few days and there was dark stubble. It didn’t really suit him.

He went into the nursery and Juanita smiled and looked embarrassed as he came in without his shirt on.

He picked up Jaime and kissed her.

“Hey, how’s daddy’s girl?” she was kicking her legs as he talked to her. He kissed her again and handed her to the nanny.

He went downstairs. Sam was humming a song as he came in. She looked amazing. Jay wondered what she would do if she knew what he had been doing with Steve the night before. He would phone Lisa later, to make sure she got home ok.

“Darlin, you are a vision to a blind man.” He said as he put his arms around her and drank in the smell of her. He loved her but he couldn’t help himself when he was on stage and when he was out with the guys.

Together they were rock stars and the women just threw themselves at them. Sometimes he resisted but sometimes he just couldn’t.

Like the night in Brazil, when the young blonde girl came on to him. But Sam would never find out about that.

“Want to go out in the boat later,” he asked her as he took some juice and went over to the table. Sam looked at him, she was smiling. Something was different about her.

“What are you planning, you beautiful woman?” She laughed and came over and sat on his knee. She put her arms around his neck and kissed him.

“Jay, I need to tell you something.” She looked a little nervous. He kissed her.

“What is it babe?” He was nuzzling her neck with his mouth.

“Jay, I’m a few days late.” He sat up and looked at her. She looked worried. He knew she was looking for his approval.

“You mean you might be pregnant?” He asked. She stood up. He got up too and pulled her in to his arms. “Oh Sam, are you sure Darlin?” She said she wasn’t sure, but she was four days late. “Jaime is almost a year old. Her nose will be out of place.” A tear escaped from her eye.

“You’re not angry with me then?” She looked so lost, so young. He kissed her passionately.

“Sam, if you’re pregnant, it will be the best news you could give me.” She put her arms around his neck and whispered as she teased him with her mouth.

“I love you James.” He slapped her bottom and said:

“Get your man some food, wench!”  She laughed as she went back to the stove.

Picking up his juice he went out onto the verandah with the paper.

Sam had put some scrambled eggs on the plate and poured some coffee into the cups and placing them on a tray, took them outside onto the verandah.

She smiled as she put the tray down. She wasn’t sure if she was pregnant, the doctor back in London, had managed to save her uterus and said there was a chance she could get pregnant but it was a small one.

She had been so concerned about telling Jay. They had agreed that they wouldn’t think about having anymore children until Jaime was at least four and they could investigate whether or not Sam could get pregnant.

He put down the paper and drank some coffee. They would take the boat out later and maybe even invite Lisa and Nick over for dinner.

Sam said to him.

“Lisa and Nick might want to come over later,” she was beaming. “You could cook your famous pasta.” He put down his cup and said:

“So not only, are you using me for my body, wench. But you want me to cook as well.” They both laughed and finished their breakfast.

Sam went to have a shower and dressed casually in jeans and a tee shirt. She put on some tinted moisturizer and a little lipstick.

Glancing approvingly at herself in the mirror she went down stairs and out into the hazy sunshine. Jay had put on a loose shirt. He was waiting for her by the Porsche. His look was an approving one.
