His dick tasted so good, the heat and tautness of the swollen flesh a delight for her already-overworked mind. She wanted this, needed them after weeks of denial, or had it been longer? Ever knew it was horrible timing, but the question was a distraction that would eat at her until she got an answer. Shifting her hand to encircle his dick, Ever pulled her head back. “How long have I been dead?”

Kris instantly released her nipple and glared down at her. “You are not dead! You are simply displaced. Five days.”

She smiled with relief. Not such a very long time. “Thank you.”

Liam shoved his hands under her stomach and lifted her into the air, flipping her as he threw her onto the bed. A moment later, they were both beside her. Liam growled at her, his eyes shining menacingly. “That was a really shitty question to ask.”

Ever grimaced. “Sorry! I didn’t know if it had been days or months. There is no time here.”

He knocked on her forehead with his knuckles. “It could have waited.”

“No, it couldn’t. Once it popped into my head, it was a depressing distraction that I needed an answer to.”

Liam was glaring at her and Kris broke the tension between them by flipping onto his back. “Move your adorable, hot pink ass over here and ride me like a cowgirl.”

She crawled over him, keeping her pussy out of reach as she leaned over and pulled his lower lip between her teeth. Ever locked his eyes with her own, staring at him with lust-fueled desire.

The bed shifted as Liam moved, but before she could even entice Kris into a kiss, Liam’s very hard cock slid into the outer ring of her anus. The muscles protested slightly and she forced them to loosen as she moaned piteously. Liam was angry about her question, and she probably could have worded it more tactfully. She could only imagine how hard it had been on him to leave her dying body to care for the children. She actually wanted the details of that, but now was certainly not the time to ask. Ever focused her mind on the feel of his cock sliding silkily in and out of her as she crushed her lips to Kris with a desperation founded from weeks of dispassionate kisses.

Kris met her with exuberance, caressing and encircling her tongue as he put his hands to her hips and urged her downward. The first breach of the head of his cock was shocking, her pussy clamping tight around him in overwhelmed expectation. It felt so good, Liam’s hands on her hips, Kris’s on her sides. Her cunt was overflowing with male heat, Kris sinking ever so slowly into the pulsing wetness of her. Ever whimpered, her breathy exhales shattered as her body was jarred by movement that she had no desire to control.

Kris slipped his hands up to her face, his eyes catching hers as he held her, kissing her greedily. Liam reached around her waist, sliding his hands between their bodies. Using two fingers to peel back the outer folds of flesh, he used the central one to coerce the oozing wetness over her clit. He encircled the tiny globe of enflamed flesh, the added attention sending shimmering flares of sensation downward to collide with the friction of their sliding cocks. It was glorious, it was too much, her pussy grabbing tight to heighten the tight feeling of Kris within. Liam shifted his hips, rocking forward and back as Kris did the same in opposition. They were both building speed, moving faster, their thrusts harder and more solid.

Ever shivered, throwing her head back into the air as her hips bucked against their bodies. It was such wonderful entrapment, male heat encasing her legs, pressed against her still-burning ass cheeks, and crushed against her mound. Liam rubbed his finger back and forth, alternately stretching the outer casing of her clit and hitting the globe directly. Her pussy locked tight around Kris’s beautiful dick and they both thrust hard in unison, filling her as her muscles crashed around them. They both growled as a single sound, reverberating through the dream space like a thunderous roar as she added her scream to the sound.

Crying, a child’s howl. Ever was thrown from the dream as both men were jarred awake by the sound. She opened her eyes, Kris sprinting from the bed to go check on the children. She noted to her amusement that he had left a wet spot on the bed and the back of his leg had cum dripping down it. Ever started to laugh, but it really wasn’t funny.

Chapter 15

Ever was sitting in the chair, bored out of her mind, when someone knocked on the door. In her current condition, she didn’t need sleep, but Kris and Liam did. After they had changed the boys, she had return to their dreams, curling up in their arms, but even in the dream, they had gone to sleep and she couldn’t. She had eventually gotten up to go check on the babies.

Liam staggered out of bed, gazing around the room. Ever wanted to tell him that she was in the chair, but had no way to communicate with him now. “Morning, sweets,” he said aloud, and she presumed it was for her. He tugged on his jeans and threw the quilt over her body before going to open the door. Pippin stood with an older man at her side. He promptly walked into the room and looked straight at her. He then looked at the bed.

“Pippin explained the situation to me. I’m a spirit guide. I guide lost spirits into the afterlife. Unless you want to send her there, I have no idea what you want from me.”

Kris opened his eyes and frowned. “We want you to tell us how the hell to get her back into her body.”

“I have no idea. Most spirits have no need of their dead flesh. They may want to return to it, but it is my job to convince them that is a useless wish. How the hell did she get separated from her flesh in the first place?”

Kris grimaced. “Ever was a half-breed. She was dying. I bit her to save her life.”

The man that she had to presume was Silva walked across the room and sank down into the chair opposite her.
“You what?”

Kris sat up, dragging the sheet over his lower body. “I bit her to give her my saliva to help her to survive. It has been done before.”

“Not successfully.”

“But I read about it in the clan journal.”

“Oh. Yeah, someday that will be rebuked. It didn’t happen. It was a matter that she wanted her human mate changed so she made up a story and had her brother change him. It’s not like anyone could verify it. It was their word against god’s.”

Liam walked across the room and was about to sit on her when Silva grunted. “Unless you like sitting on her lap, I wouldn’t do that.”

“Ever is in the chair?”

“Well, a spirit is there. If you believe it’s Ever, then fine. She has made no attempt to speak with me.”

“You can hear me?”

“I rescind that. Yes, I can hear you, my dear. Are you Ever?”

“Yes.”

“Do you desire to go into the afterlife?”

“No! I desire to go back into my body. I tried last night, but I simply drift through it.”

“Interesting. The babies can see you?”

“I think so. They react to me.”

“She can speak to us in dreams,” said Kris.

“What do you mean?”

“Ever came to Kris and me in a dream last night. I remember everything and we talked.”

Silva leaned back into the chair. “Did she say anything that might be helpful?”

Liam took a seat beside his brother and they shrugged at each other. “She mentioned the original were that bit her. His name was Carmen Amar, and she said that he tried to lead her into the afterlife.”

“Ah…” Silva said as a drawn-out, singular word. “There is the first problem. Carmen was the one that drew her out of her flesh. He must have known what you were doing and wanted to claim her for himself before you excised him from her body. He used that moment of overwhelming pain created by the takeover to separate her spirit from her flesh. The Amar family was known for dabbling in black magic. It was part of the reason that they were executed. An evil, magical were is a bad combination.”

“Interesting,” said Kris. “But it doesn’t help us any. The damage has already been done. How do we undo it?”

“I have no damn idea. I do, however, know someone who might.” He pushed himself upward. “Do you have any beer? I could really use one.”

“I’m sorry, we don’t,” replied Kris.

“Figures,” Silva grunted. “Get some. I want a case for my trouble when I return. It may take a few days to get in touch with Tella, but I will be back.” He turned to stare at the chair that Ever was sitting in and she wondered if he could see her or just sense her. “I think it wise that, if she can be with you in sleep, then you alternate your sleeping hours. Ever, stay inside this room. The energy of your men and your children are helping you to hold fast here. You don’t want to linger in the gray. It will draw from you the very essence of your life and trap you there until you are convinced that there is no other option but to move on. It is not a place for a spirit who still has a living body.”

“Thank you, but I have already been there. I don’t want to go back.”

Silva frowned deeply, the wrinkles in his face darkening severely. “Interesting. You have a strong will indeed.”

Silva headed toward the door. “Get my beer.” That said, he walked out and headed toward the kitchen. Liam frowned and went after him, and Kris got up to check on the children. He smiled down at them and lifted Seren and Lash upward. Tucking the wiggly children against his sides, he walked across the room and laid them to her breasts. The two boys immediately latched on and began to suckle. Ever wanted to sit with them and at least be near them while they were eating, and she got up, walking across the room. Kris shivered when she touched him and she wondered if he could feel it.

“Yes, my sweet. I think you just stroked my arm. It was a very light, but passionate touch.”

It had been just that, and she smiled at the sudden knowledge that they could feel her. He sat down on the bed and she sat beside him, brushing against his leg. Kris reached out and put his hand where her thigh was. His hand sank through her leg, but that was okay because the spot where his hand rested was warmed by the contact.

Liam strolled back in. “Un-fucking-believable. I guess Pippin made a deal with him that he could raid our kitchen. He is raiding it. He has half the contents of our refrigerator on the table and is eating like a Viking.”

Kris chuckled. “That’s amusing. I imagine the fare is somewhat limited in the forest when you have little for amenities. As long as he doesn’t ask to move in, I can live with the food being eaten. Did you know that we can feel Ever if she touches us?”

“What?”

“Come over and sit on the bed. She is sitting next to me, so don’t sit on her.”

Liam walked over and, leaving her plenty of room, sat down. Ever gently ran the tips of her fingers over his arm and he shivered just as Kris had. “Oh. Wow. That feels amazing.” He reached out his hand, feeling around in front of his body. When he touched her shoulder, he smiled brightly. “I can feel her, too.” He tested out his theory, moving his hand forward and back, then running it over her arm and then the front of her chest like a blind man would do. “I can even make out the outline of her flesh. It creates a tingle in my palm whenever I touch her. Hey, sweets. Last night was a blast. Sorry I almost sat on you.”

Ever put her palms to his face and whispered, “I love you so much.”

Liam closed his eyes, purring softly. “I love you, too.”

Her eyes flashed wide as she stared at him. Had he heard her because she was touching him? “Liam. You heard me.”

He nodded softly as if on the verge of sleep. “Yes, I did. Please move your hands.”

Ever instantly released him, watching as he visibly sagged and then shook his head as if trying to revive himself. “Damn. Don’t touch my head unless you need to say something. Your touch made me so tired.”

Hopping up, she walked back across the room and sat down. It was what she had done to Avia, knocked the poor baby into sleep. Kris had a deep frown on his handsome face. “What just happened?”

“She put her hands to my face,” replied Liam. “It was so nice and so soothing. She said that she loved me and I heard her melodious voice, and then I started to feel as if I hadn’t slept in a week. I’m not sure if it was because she was touching me, because she was touching my face, or if it was her voice. Last night I think she touched Avia, because one moment she was wiggly and active and the next she was sleeping.”

“Okay. So we can’t touch her for long periods, but this means if she has something important to tell us, she can do it. Ever, come back over and speak to me. I need to hear you in real life.”

She was hesitant to do so but, getting up, she walked back to him. Ever knelt in front of him, touching his leg. Kris smiled. “I love you so much.”

“I miss you so much.”

He didn’t seem to hear her. Standing back up, she touched his cheek and Kris put his palm over her hand. “You didn’t hear me. I miss you so much.”

Kris released a long, lofty sigh and closed his eyes. Ever snatched her hand away. His head hung forward. “She has to be touching our faces or our heads. It didn’t bother me to have her touch my leg, but I couldn’t hear her either.” He reached out and hit her stomach. “I miss you, too. I miss you so much. I’m beginning to wonder what I did before you were in my life. I lay next to you day after day, feeling as if a boulder was crushing my chest.” He looked at the children still drinking heartily from her nipple. “There is nothing more in life that I want than just to have you back in one piece. There has to be a way. I don’t care what it takes, we will find a way.”

Ever nodded, but didn’t dare touch him again. It might actually come in handy, because she could put either of them to sleep with just a touch. If she wanted them to dream, it could easily be arranged.

“You may want to consider that very carefully, alpha. The price may be very high indeed. Tella is a demanding woman and her services don’t come cheaply,” said Silva from doorway as he continued to chaw on a chicken leg. Ever took note that he had a chunk of something in his very unruly black-and-gray beard, and it was rather distasteful.

He turned his eyes directly to her. “You are a very strong-minded woman, Ever. For you to be able to speak with the hard of hearing is an amazing feat.”
