[OLIVER and the ARTFUL DODGER enter through
the audience. They ad lib friendly lines to the patrons
while picking their pockets. After they have fleeced the
audience, they go on stage showing theirgoods to each
other.]

DODGER

How much have you made?

OLIVER

I've got these! Enough to see a show.

DODGER

Oh no, Oliver, you have to pick a lot more pockets to
afford to see a show!

THEATRE IS LOTS OF FUN IF YOU ARE A KID TODAY

DODGER

Oh look Oliver! There's Nancy, your substitute
prostitute mother!

[NANCY enters on a crutch and bandaged up]

OLIVER

Nancy, what happened to you?

NANCY

Oliver! What? Oh this. Nothing at all. I was just
snogging with Bill Sykes.

DODGER

I'll show him!

NANCY

No Dodger! No Oliver! It's just his way of tellin' me he
loves me. You wouldn't undrestand. It's a Dickens thing.

[The boys shrug and leave. NANCY sings]
