“Whatever you want.” I laughed and winked.

I was being totally honest. Cade Walker had some kind of magical pull over me. He turned my brain to mush. Somehow, I didn’t mind in the least.

“I can’t believe you know all of these people. I know it’s weird because I know crazy famous people in the music industry but for some reason I’m really impressed you have Tom Cruise’s phone number.” Cade said having a fanboy moment.

“It’s funny isn’t it? That our idea of normal is so crazy. I frequently go oh my god I can’t believe I actually live this life. It’s humbling.” I felt special because a guy I’d always been a fan of was impressed by me.

“That’s one of the things I like so much about you. That even though you’ve grown up in this other world you’re still so grounded. You know what really is important in life.” Cade smiled down at me and held my hand as we walked to the limo.

We both climbed inside and laughed together as I removed my shoes and he loosened his tie.

I sighed and leaned back against the leather seat and closed my eyes. It helped me get my bearings. I smiled when I felt Cade twine his fingers with mine. I took a deep breath through my nose and sighed, enjoying the spice of his scent.

“Did you just sniff me?” He asked me with a laugh.

“Sure. You smell good. Wanna sniff me?” I opened one eye and looked at him.

“OK.” He leaned forward putting his nose on a sensitive part of my neck.

I couldn’t fight the shiver that went threw me at his close proximity. I looked at him then as his eyes darkened and his smile turned into something sexier.

“Mmm. That is nice.” He murmured softly as his nose grazed my neck.

I closed my eyes and settled into the growing heat of the moment. I could see the sparks behind my eyelids as he began to kiss my neck and face softly. I turned my head towards him, needing to feel his lips against mine. Craving the heat and moisture of his tongue dancing with mine.

His kisses were drugging. They caused warmth to pool in my belly. A tingle grew in earnest into a blazing fire of want. Desire sparked off him and into me.

“You have no idea how much I want you right now, sweetheart. I would love nothing more than to strip you bare right here in this limo and taste every inch of you.”

Yes! Do it
! My mind and body cried. However, I stayed silent waiting for him to finish.

“But now isn’t our time Katherine. When we come together, it will be magic. We will happen one day soon. First, I want you to ache for me. I want you to touch yourself and imagine my hands and my lips on you. I want to build up that delicious tension. And when neither of us can stand it anymore. That’s when we will have sex. Because our relationship is going to last and I want to do everything right in the beginning. This is the only beginning we will have. These are our only firsts and they will be something neither of us will ever forget. I want you to think of me and think of this, what you feel right now. The spark, the anticipation. It’s only going to build. We are going to be combustible.”

“You are perfect Cade Walker.” I grinned up at him and grabbed his hand. “We are going to be magic. I’ll let you be the man and make this decision, I trust you, but I have to tell you, I’ve already touched myself while thinking of you. I picture your lips trailing their way down my body starting at my ears. Nibbling my neck, licking a moist path to my breasts, and  then teasing my nipples until I ache. I have quite an imagination. But I know you are going to live up to my expectations.”

He pinned me with his heat-filled eyes. The desire in them meant only for me almost unraveled me and ruined my plan to go along with the delayed gratification.

“I am going to exceed your expectations. Because any lover you have had before me was just a boy and I am going to show you what it’s like to be loved by a man.”

The rest of the limo ride to the after party was made in silence, both of us lost in our thoughts. I would have skipped the party and gone straight to bed but I couldn’t help but love the buildup and his thoughts about being intimate. He was such a rarity. I had trouble believing that he wasn’t just saying what I wanted to hear, but I couldn’t deny that his actions spoke louder than his words.

Chapter Six

CADE

I closed my eyes and leaned back into the limo seat. I was completely blown away by how amazing Kat looked when she came down her stairs in her gown for the movie premier. I had never seen her look more beautiful and I was blown away when I put my arms around her and discovered her dress didn’t have a back. Being able to feel the curve of her spine and the silky smoothness of her skin was such a sensual experience. I had to find something else to think about to keep myself from showing Kat how much I loved the dress. Tuxedo pants and boners do not mix.

Walking the red carpet with her was pretty surreal. I had never been more aware of how much she downplayed her fame and how popular she was with people, and with the media. Taking me as her date was a risky move for her. I was happy that she had so much faith in me but I was concerned over the amount of press and speculation we would stir up. I believed that we were worth the risk but I knew from friends and personal experience that having relationships go bad while in the public eye could take its toll. Everyone loved to get into a celebrity’s business and they had a way of making something innocent into something scandalous. That’s how I got a reputation for being a playboy. I would go out once with a woman and the press would make a huge deal out of it. They would go to her and interview her and she would blow it all out of proportion just to get her 15 minutes. It didn’t bother me as much once I got used to women who wanted to date a rock star in order to get attention. But dating Kat made me feel the need to explain my bad reputation. She was a very understanding woman. She has grown up in the industry and the spot light and was in the perfect position to understand.

Kat pulled me out of my thoughts by telling me we arrived at the location of the big after party we were attending. She offered to skip it but I wanted to watch her around people who knew her as a famous actor. I wanted to see her shine. I knew that she was modest and I wanted to show her off and let her know that I was proud to be with her and that I would never consider my career more important than hers. Watching her in the movie was the first time I’d seen her act and I wasn’t surprised at all to see that she was very talented. She really connected with her character and the emotion. I didn’t like to see her kiss another guy in front of me on screen but I knew that it was just work for her. The relationships were just pretend but that didn’t mean I didn’t hate it anyway.

We walked down a shorter red carpet and paused for pictures a few times. This event was more low key and had less press.

Kat and I entered the ballroom and I looked around at the glittering chandeliers and opulent table arrangements. I wasn’t very interested in the decorating but couldn’t help but imagine the expense of everything in the room. There were crystals everywhere, sleek chrome finishes, and an abundance of alcohol. There was a DJ in the back of the room pumping out dance music. Most of the people seemed to be mingling and nibbling on the food the waiters with trays were passing around.

I snagged Kat and I a couple of glasses of champagne. Kat looked up at me and smiled.

“Come on party girl; let’s go chat with some stars.” I winked. I knew that this was an opportunity for her to make new contacts and meet new actors. I might not be an actor but I’d learned how to network and was passed being afraid to walk up to someone and start a conversation. I knew a few people in the glittering ballroom and decided to approach them first. If I could help Kat, I would.

I laced my fingers with hers and began walking towards a producer I’d met while working on a music video. I hadn’t taken more than a few steps when we began being approached by people. They quickly introduced themselves to Kat as being from this production company or that magazine. They all seemed eager to ask Kat about her upcoming projects and commitments. Before ten minutes had passed, we were surrounded by people vying to talk to Kat about their projects and ask her about scripts and pilot episodes.

I’d had a few people approach me and ask about my upcoming album but, it was obvious that the real star of the room was Kat. I noticed the crowd parting to my left and saw a big name actor making his way through the crowd to talk to Kat. We’d been separated a little by all the people trying to talk to her. I’d been chatting with Daniel Lawson but the newcomer caught my attention. I recognized him from his action movies and knew he had started working on the production side as well.

Lawson leaned towards me and gestured towards the man. “That’s Michael Anderson. He has been making a switch to production and the rumor is that he wants Kat for his upcoming project. There’s some speculation about what it is. Some say he is working on some indie film guaranteed to earn an Oscar. But the prominent rumor says that he is going to co-produce Damaged. Kat is the running favorite to play Lilly.”

I nodded my head thinking about what an opportunity that would be for Kat. I had been paying more attention to the movie buzz lately and I knew that Kat was rumored to be playing Lilly in Damaged. What I couldn’t help but wonder was who was going to play Jackson, the male lead. Kat and I had talked a few times about going on location to shoot movies. She said that most movies took several months to film and didn’t allow for much down time. I hoped that a lot of the filming for her next project could be done locally but knew that wasn’t likely.

“When is the movie expected to start filming?” I asked him trying to figure out how much time Kat and I had before our lives got hectic.
