The flight to the ranch takes the longest half hour of my life. But even when Elissa is on the ground and in the protection of my land and my men, there’s still no relief in me knowing this is a long, painful, permanent process.
“Come back to me, baby,” I whisper in her ear. Immortality is hard to attain, harder to go through and even once you attain it, it doesn’t mean you are indestructible. You become more durable against heaven and hell.
“Alex!” a weak whisper comes through her dry lips. It’s as if she screamed my name.
My heart is shredding.
“Where is she?” it’s Stella.
“Here,” I call to her.
“She’s got her memories back,” Stella acknowledges.
“Yes, all of it,” I say nodding outside indicating the Duke.
“Where you go from here is up to both of you. It’s a new life for her. Not the continuation of the old. But then… you rescue the two of you, and you’ll rescue all of you,” she murmurs.
“All of us?” I ask.
“All of you,” she replies.

Alexander Aurelius Pella
:
The only other first generation Nephilim left besides Elissa. He is her twin soul. In his mortal life, he was a world conquering emperor. Alexander submitted his body and soul to Marcus to protect his daughter Elissa, because he fell in love with a single vision of her while on his deathbed.

:
The only Nephilim in Alex Pella’s service who was with him before the Change; his transformation from being mortal into immortality.

:
The archangel tasked with the imprisonment of the Fallen Angels. In order to keep the balance between Eden and Earth, he accepts Marcus’ offer of a Life for Life Exchange, imprisoning his own brother Marcus and gives an oath to protect his daughter.
Azaziel
:
One of the chief Grigori who taught humans how to make weapons. His Nephilim children have been killed after the Order of Destruction. He answers only to Apollyon.
Boreas
:
Elissa’s mare born of the North Wind, mother of the Zephyr, a colt born of fire and the western wind. She’s an immortal horse.
Bucephalus
:
Alex’s immortal horse he has had since he was 9 years old. He has not allowed anyone to ride him because he has killed trainers or anyone who wanted to break him. Alex conquered him at the age of nine years old.
The Change
:
The Transformation a Nephilim must go through to become Immortal. Their angelic blood must be strong for them to be able to endure the punishing transformation. Not all Nephilims are immortal, but they have longevity living in excess of five-hundred years. All Nephilim under Alex’s command have gone through the Change. This only occurred under Marcus’s watchful eyes.

A Fortress built in disguise, it’s Alex’s home in Santa Monica which overlooks the Pacific Ocean and is situated on top of the bluffs.
Centurion
:
The
Centurion
is a high security luxury apartment building Alex Pella owns in Santa Monica overlooking the Pacific Ocean.

:
Well educated, exceptionally trained military commanders under Alex Pella’s rule made up of the Nephilim.
Cerberus (Kerberos, hellhound, denios kunos)
:
The gigantic hound guarded the gates of Hades. His job is to prevent souls of the dead from leaving as well as preventing the living from entering. It is a three headed hellhound with a serpent’s tail, a mane of snakes and lion’s claws. Apollyon can send it to fetch a particular soul he thinks is his due.
Cherub
:
The second highest ranking angel with four faces; a face of an ox, an eagle, a lion and a man. They’re joined to one another; they don’t turn when they move. They can walk in any direction without turning.
Darklings:
Humans who exchanged their souls for longevity and power. They’re devoid of souls; instead they possess a demonic energy.

The sixth through ninth circle of Hades.
Doc John Henry
:
A sixteenth generation Nephilim born in the 1700s, his life was saved and put under protection by Marcus. A trained physician, an exceptional marksman, he is loyal to Marcus, Elissa, Alex and the Four Winds.
Duchess Courcillion
:
Duke Courcillion’s mother comes from a long line of aristocrats, Psyche and sixteenth generation of Nephilim.
Duke Maximillian Courcillion
:
He is a third generation Nephilim; but the Psyche nature of his blood, prevented him from becoming a casualty of the Divine Laws. His father was a second generation Nephilim.

Four Winds (Anemoi)
:
It’s the name of the four cardinal winds, and the collective names of the gods of those four directional winds: Boreas (the north wind), Zephyros (the west wind), Notos (the south wind), Eurus (the east wind). It is also the given name for Alex and Elissa’s ranch, because it sits at the junction of the four winds of time.
Furies (Alecto, Maggie, Tissie)
:
Infernal goddesses who dwell in Tartarus. The ugliness of the Furies lie in their nature. Their beauty is their lure; another weapon. Their voices are sweet and melodious, weakening their prey for a swift kill. When you see the killing blow, it will already be too late.

:
He was the chief ruling angel of the fifth heaven in charge of wars among nations.
Hieron Osteon (sacrum, Life Force, Holy Bone)

Located at the base of the spine, it is the reactive psyche and the concentration of one’s Life Force where the entire body could be generated from this bone.

:
The underworld, designated abode of the dead, guarded by Cerberus.
Hedone (Hailey Ancilla)
:
She is a Psyche; personification of wanton and sensual pursuits of pleasure with disregard to anyone else. She is sensual, possesses immense beauty, attractiveness, self-esteem, sex appeal, drawing the attention of others so quickly, it’s nearly impossible for a human or Nephilim not to lower their guards for her to search their thoughts and feelings.
James Vespa
:
He is one of Alex Pella’s two personal assistants. James is a Nephilim with unique abilities. He’s from the house of Vespasian a dynasty in ancient Rome with gifts of military and business strategy. He’s been in Alex’s service for centuries.
Mediis
:
A passageway that a soul can be lost in and left to wander or be kept there for a while.
Melissa Tiber
:
She is one of Alex Pella’s two assistants. Melissa is from the house of Tiberius, one of the greatest military families of Rome. She has skills in conquering her enemy both on the battlefield as well as in a boardroom representing her boss. She is immune to the Psyche and other Nephilim with her unique abilities.
