“Can I see you tomorrow?”

It was not what she expected. She expected him to take her for a ride on his Harley. She thought she would end up impaled on his cock somewhere in the desert. She nodded in reply and added, “I work during the day at the archaeological dig site ten miles west of here, but I’m free at night.”

He kissed her again before releasing her. It was the hardest thing he had ever done; but, this was neither the place nor the time.

CHAPTER FIVE

The next day was difficult for
Ria. She knew she ought to concentrate on the dig, but all she could think of was Jay and the promise inherent in his hard body. She had hoped to hear from him during the day. She hadn’t given him her cellphone number; but, he wasn’t working and the dig wasn’t far from town. When he hadn’t appeared by eight o’clock that evening, she decided he’d had second thoughts. She was just about to wash her hair when Annie came in to announce that Jay was waiting for her.

“He’s a real cutie, despite being as big as a house,” Annie declared. “And he has all the boys eyeing his truck.”

“Truck?” Ria asked, picking up her purse. She’d expected a Harley. She was waiting to hear the roar of its exhaust.

“Yes. It’s a beauty and big, just like him.” She eyed her friend and then added, “He seems like a nice enough guy, although I still think he’s a bad ass. You be careful. You know what to do if you need me.”

Ria nodded and smiled at Annie. “Yes, mum.”

Outside, Jay was standing beside an enormous, black pickup truck. He was talking with the boys from the dig. As she walked over to him, she marveled at how predictable men were. Cars, women, and football, not necessarily in that order, seemed to be all they wanted to talk about. She was ten yards from the gathering when he turned and looked at her.

“Hi,” she greeted him. She was rewarded with an ear-to-ear smile.

“Hi, yourself,” he answered. “Ready for a ride?”

As she remembered their words from the night before, Ria fought to keep from blushing. If the gleam in his eyes was any indication, he had not forgotten, either.

As she prepared to climb into the truck, Annie reminded her,

“Remember the curfew, Ria.”

She nodded and turned to Jay who helped her into the passenger seat. As soon as they set off, he reached across the seat and took her hand in his. Raising it to his lips, he kissed it and asked, “Sleep well last night?”

She had slept well. In fact, her night included some pretty erotic dreams. The memory was enough and she blushed. He chuckled. He had a clue as to why she was blushing. It pleased him inordinately.

“You’re adorable when you blush”.

“I am?”

“You are. Will you blush if I rest my hand on your thigh?”

“No.”

“Then, I won’t.”

She laughed and was rewarded when he placed his hand on her thigh.

“I thought we might go to dinner and then take in a movie afterwards. How about a chick flick? You strike me as a chick flick kind of gal. Am I right?”

Ria laughed, relaxing completely. “Yes, but you don’t have to sacrifice yourself for me. I like action movies, too.”

“Action it is, then,” he replied. Then, he was quiet. He switched the radio on, but rather than the country music she expected, she was deafened by the sound of rock and roll. She winced at the excess volume. Then, he turned it down, just enough to be tolerable.

In less than a quarter of an hour, they parked in front of a diner. It wasn’t grand. It was the sort of diner that chain restaurants were driving out of the market. Still, it was air-conditioned and almost full.

They were shown to a table at the back of the room. It was well lit and not the place for a romantic meal. Their waitress was a thirtyish, attractive bottle-blonde who couldn’t take her eyes off Jay. Her ‘What would you like?’ was laced with an invitation for him to take advantage of her body, rather than a request for him to select a meal. He smiled at her. He was used to it. He occasionally sampled
off menu
items, but his smile stopped when he saw the look on Ria’s face. She was jealous and, surprisingly, he liked it.

The menu was standard American fare. Deciding between chicken and steak was difficult for Ria. She liked steak, but chicken had fewer calories. She was always on a diet. In the end, they decided to order one of each. Once the food arrived, she ate some of his steak and gave him some of her chicken.

Their conversation had none of the sexual tension of the previous evening. They spent most of the time trying to get to know each other. He told her how his job took him away a lot, but didn’t elaborate other than to say he wasn’t a truck driver. She told him about her love for archaeology, how she dreamed of a job as a curator in a museum, details about her family in London, and a much-censored description of her last love affair. They finished with a shared chocolate dessert. They ate the last bite just in time to get to the movie theater for the start of the film.

When the lights dimmed in the theater, Jay put his arm across her shoulders. He pulled her towards him.

“I’ve been wanting to kiss you since I picked you up,” he confessed. He bent down to touch his lips to hers. She remembered what happened the night before. She opened her mouth and let him suckle her tongue.

“If you keep that up, we’ll be leaving before the movie starts,” he threatened.

It was a movie about the Afghan war and he seemed absorbed by the action. She started to watch, but five minutes in she had switched off. Her mind turned to their relationship, if it could be called that. In spite of its brevity, she was sure there was something special between them.

Even during their mundane conversation in the diner, she was turned on by his presence. Her panties became progressively damp and her nipples increasingly hard. Sitting next to him in the theater, she felt even hornier. She laughed silently. It had been a long time since she had used that expression. She fought an increasing desire to suggest they go somewhere less public. He had put his hand on her thigh when the film started. It was burning into her flesh, making her wish he was fondling her in other places.

When the movie ended, she went to the ladies room. He was waiting for her when she appeared. Then, he smiled and hooked her arm in his. They left by the side entrance which led directly into the parking lot.

When they reached the truck, he opened the passenger door and she got in. He hadn’t mentioned it, but she knew he didn’t intend to drive her to the dig. As he started the engine, he said, “I’ll be gone the day after tomorrow; but, I wanted to show you my favorite place before I leave. It’s going to be dark, but I figure you’ll have time to go back when I’m gone, unless your dig is a short one.”

He was leaving in two days. He hadn’t told her that and she hadn’t expected it. Her heart dropped.

“Where are you going?”

“Work,” he answered tersely.

He seemed unwilling to discuss it further; so, she sat silently. She alternated between looking out of the window at the clear, star-filled night sky and at his face. He still hadn’t said anything about their destination, other than it was his favorite place. Based upon the scenery, she assumed it was somewhere in the desert.

Finally, he spoke. “Is there a man in your life?”

Her eyes registered her surprise. “No. Why?”

He glanced at her, again. Then, he reached for her hand and put it on the front of his pants.

“This is why,” he said, as he rubbed her hand over an impressive erection.

Ria gasped, but didn’t remove her hand. Even through his trousers, it was apparent his cock was big. It was far bigger than any of her pervious lovers and far bigger than it seemed the previous night. Emboldened by his silent invitation, she grasped it and started to play with it. She watched his face as she stroked up and down its length. She saw him catch his breath. Then, she felt his hips move slightly.

She wanted to see it in the flesh. She wanted to play with it and fondle his balls; but, she didn’t feel sure enough to open his fly without his permission. She was excited by the thought and she felt herself getting wetter. If he didn’t pull over soon and take her, she was worried her love juices would leak from her.

Suddenly and without warning, he braked. He turned right off the road and onto a track which was rough enough to cause her to let go of his cock and grab onto the door handle. They drove for four or five minutes. The last two minutes of the drive the truck climbed steeply up a hill. Its huge diesel engine pushed it steadily up.

When they stopped, they were at the top of the hill. Without saying a word, he got out of the truck. He walked around the front and opened the passenger door.

“This is where I come sometimes. Usually when I need to think or just to be alone.”

She held his hand, as he helped her over the uneven ground to a wooden bench. They sat down. The light of the half-moon shone upon the vast, open desert below them. In the distance, its lights twinkling, was a town. It was probably the one where they’d been the night before.

“It’s so beautiful,” she said, her voice breaking the silence. “Is that why you’ve brought me here? Or do you have another reason?”

Jay smiled. He had brought her here because it was beautiful; but, she was right. He had another reason.

“If I said it was because I wanted to make love to you, would you be scared?”

“Why? Are you going to hurt me?”

He chuckled. “No, but why do you think I might hurt you?”

“I fear most men.” Ria paused. Jay watched her expression change from neutral to pensive. “I don’t mean I’m worried about physical violence. Perhaps a better way to say it is that I don’t trust most men.”

“You’re here, with me, in the middle of the desert,” he pointed out. “You’ve let me take liberties with you. It doesn’t look like you’re frightened of me or that you don’t trust me.”

When she didn’t reply, he wondered if he touched a nerve. He wasn’t a tender man most of the time. The killing fields of Afghanistan and Iraq had almost eliminated what compassion he’d had left. Still, there was something about this woman which made him want to wrap her up in cotton and keep her safe.

Finally she answered, “There’s just something about you. Despite the dangerous vibe you give off, I think I can trust you.” She turned her eyes to his. “I’m not wrong, am I?”

“I seem dangerous to you?” he asked, his voice hoarse.

“Don’t be mad,” she begged him. “I don’t mean it in a bad way.”

Jay chuckled. “There’s a good way to be dangerous?”

“Well, yes. You know the movies where the bad guys are really the good guys, don’t you?” Her voice was earnest. It amused him as much as it touched him.

“Well, thank you! I’m glad you think I’m a good bad guy.”

When he finished speaking, she leaned her head against his shoulder. He reached down and kissed her. He ravished her mouth till she was groaning with need in his arms. He wanted to feel her lips on his, but what he really wanted was to lay her the bench and fuck the breath from her. It’s what he would have done with any other woman, but he was determined to romance Ria. While the meal and movie had been a start, it wasn’t enough. Tonight wasn’t the time. Rather than coming in her pussy, he was going to have to be satisfied with his hand again.

When they stopped kissing, he sat with her. They said nothing. They just looked at the lights of the town in the distance. When her breathing returned to normal, he said, “I’d better get you back.”

“Why? Do you think I’m too young for you?” Her voice trailed off.

“Why would you think a thing like that?” he asked, as he smoothed her hair back from her forehead.

“Well,” she hesitated again. It suddenly dawned on him what she was thinking.

He knew how to answer her question. He picked her up, so that she was straddling his lap. Then, he pulled her to him and pressed her firmly onto his cock.

“Still wondering about that?” he asked. His voice suddenly filled with need.

“No.”
