They moved ever so slowly across
the deck just not to sure if the dragon was in there or not. Getting to the
other side with no problems they hurried through the door and ran across the
next deck to be very sure they were away from it. Stopping for a rest Angel
asked Aura if she or the others could still feel the dragon.

Aura spoke with a touch of fear
but had control of it. ‘No, we think it left early this morning before you woke
up. One moment it was there and the next the fear and anger had gone. The
feelings the dragon produces are so strong we have trouble blocking them.’

‘Aura what feelings did you pick
up with NightWing when you were close to my home?’ Angel indicated to the
others they should keep going while he spoke with Aura.

‘NightWing’s feelings were happy
when your mother is riding him; there is no fear, hate or anger with him.’ Aura
was now more relaxed as she spoke with Angel.

‘Aura we are nearly there, just
two more decks and we’re with you.’ As he moved through into the next deck.

Getting to the last deck they
went through the door to find four dragons waiting by it. The group all rushed
to their dragons and gave them a hug, making big fusses over them. They did not
yet want to talk about the dragon and so to take their mind of it decided to do
there calming exercise to help relax them and show them how to clear their
magic paths.

Sitting in a comfortable area
they showed them how to follow the paths. Angel asked Aura if she needed a
hand. ‘Aura can I help you clear your paths, as I can see you doing it. I can
see as we are still liked by the mind. I can help and then you can clear mine
to make sure I have not missed any?’

Angel told the others about what
he asked Aura and he was waiting to see what she wanted to do. ‘That would be
good as I can see what you do and how you do it.’

Angel got ready and told the
others what he was about to do. ‘Aura are you ready as I will start now, so
just follow.’ He sat very still as he started.

Starting where the magic begins,
which is in the brain. He followed it very slowly letting Aura follow and see
what was happening. Angel could feel the magic but it was very different from
his. He found Aura’s magic accepted him and allowed him to help Aura.

‘Aura can you feel and see what I
am doing, we follow it right down to the very smallest path till there is no
more and we’re done. So now I think you should check mine by following my magic
paths?’ He was looking into her eyes as he said this.

Angel knew what they were doing
was total trust, to be able to let someone else into your magic. He waited as
Aura slowly worked her way through Angel’s magic paths. He could feel she was
very nervous as she did this and so was going very slowly. Finely getting to
the smallest magic path till there were no more and then she relaxed.

Looking at Aura Angel spoke. ‘How
does it feel, my magic, for yours felt different but it allowed me to carry
on?’

‘It felt strange, but good and as
you said your magic allowed me to clear your paths all the way down. It was a funny
feeling for your magic is really different from mine. But I was able to work
it.’ There was a new feeling in Aura’s mind, one of completeness. This was
meant to be.

She told Angel this and he had
agreed ‘There is now completeness with us.’ They found it had taken all
afternoon to do this so the others decided they would do it the next time they
came back to their dragons. They were all hungry so got out some food and
started to eat.

Angel and Aura were hungry so
while Angel ate Aura went hunting. Now while they were eating Angel asked what
they thought about the other dragon. ‘We must find out why a dragon is coming
here in such pain, anger and hate. You would think it had a wizard with it to
show that much hate and anger. That’s what a dragon feels when around a
wizard.’ Angel stopped talking after that last remark and started to think.

‘For that much pain, hate and
anger, there must be a wizard somewhere close. This can’t be, no wizard would
go near a dragon unless there was no other way. A wizard would no sooner harm a
dragon than himself, so who would it be.’ The feelings he had received from the
dragons would indicate a wizard real close.

‘We’re going to have to find out
what’s going on with the dragon here, with it showing such pain there also must
be a wizard here at the same time.’ Angel, looking at each of them.

‘We will have to wait till the
next time it comes back and then sneak out and find him.’ Medwin had a
determined look on his face as he said this.

Maive stood up and went over to
her dragon and started talking to it and the others. ‘Well till that happens
I’m going to go for a ride on Whitefire as I’ve never done it before, Angel can
you show me how?’

Angel got up and went over to
Maive. ‘You had all better come over here with Maive and me. To ride a dragon
you can sit in only the one place on a dragon and that is where the neck joins
the body. You use you legs to hold around the neck and with yours hands you
hold a neck plate. Normally there would be a harness that you have around you
and hook yourself too’

Aura had arrived back and Angel
called her over and showed them all how to climb up on, as he did this to Aura.
Once he was up there he showed them how to hold on without falling off. ‘Ok now
give it a try and take it easy no silly stuff.’ He was letting Aura slowly turn
into the breeze so she could get better lift.

Up they went gently so as not to
knock any of the others over as they were all close together. It was a gentle
rise into the air and looking at Aura as she climbed it was a magnificent view.
She was a graceful creature with all her fluid motions. Angel held on tight as
she went higher and higher.

This was only the second time he
had ridden Aura, for they had not had a chance since that day up in the
mountains. They flew around a couple of times before coming back to rest just
as gracefully.

Climbing down he walked to the
others who had been speechless as he flew around them. ‘Ok now try it; just let
your dragons have full control as you have nothing to do about it. Now go up
into the air.’

The others did as they were told
and first Shylyns dragon was airborne, followed by Medwin. Maive was the last
and they all took a little flight around the deck not wanting to go out over
the sea at this time.

Angel watching them decided he
was going back up again and climbed back on Aura and away they went. They flew
around for a while doing loops as they got more confident. Angel gave them a
wave and indicated to go back down as it was getting late.

When they had all landed, Angel
burst out laughing. ‘Ha ha ha you should see the look on your faces, there is
so much joy and wander in them I don’t know how you are going to take that look
off your face when we get back to school, you look so happy you could just
about bounce off the walls.

They all started talking at once
till Angel yelled at them to be quite. ‘Come on come back down as we must get
back to the school so say goodbye. We’ll try and get back tomorrow. But before
you fly you must clear the dragons’ magic paths and they must do yours.’ Angel
had the same silly smile on his face as well but it didn’t worry him he had
enjoyed the flight just as much as the others.

They gave their dragons a scratch
behind the ears as a goodbye and told them they’ll be back tomorrow. Heading to
the door they suddenly heard their dragons and in their minds came the anguish,
pain and hate as before. They knew the dragon was back.

Turning back to their dragons
they comforted them and told them they were going to go and have a look on the
way home and see what it was.

They came to the door of the deck
where they had found the scent of a dragon and peeped through the door, seeing
nobody or dragon they slowly went to the rock face and then hugged the wall
moving towards the cave. Angel could feel the dragon this time so went ahead
slowly till they were at the edge of the cave.

Angel put his face around the
corner and looked. All he could see was dark, but there was a faint light in
there but not much, the dragon scent was strong. ‘I want you to remember what
it smells like just in case one day you need to know if a dragon was near.’

Angel knew the others would not
like what he was about to do. ‘I have got to go in and see what dragon is in
there.’ Slowly moving in till he was part of the dark as well, before the others
could try and stop him.

As his eyes adjusted he could
make out a very large dragon at the back of the cave. It had seen him but
remained quite.

He looked at it and could see a
very faint light blue colour close to his legs and as he looked closer could see
them to be bound, holding the dragon to the one spot. It could not fly away or
move very far. The dragon had been bound so as not to escape but who would do
such a thing it was evil.

Angel called the others in to
have a look at the dragon so they could see the spell that bound him. ‘I can
not help you at the moment.’ Looking him in the eyes as he indicated to the
others to leave. Going over to the other side of the cave they made sure there
was no one outside. As they moved across the cave the dragon watched them but
did nothing. Seeing no one they slowly moved through the door in to the other
deck.

Angel looking at the old spell
holding Nirvana to the rock face, he stopped and had a closer look. ‘It seams
to be getting weaker and I can see the pattern of the spell. I can see around
the edges how it’s weakening we might be able to use a healing spell on it?’

Angel called Aura and explained
to her what he wanted to do. ‘We need to combine our magic like we did in class
yesterday when we made the fire go high. Now look at the spell and see the
pattern, now we need to follow the path of the spell like we followed our magic
path. As we do this we use our magic to enhance the old spell so it will try to
fix itself.’

‘Now let the magic flow as we
follow the spell in the pattern, clear and make it stronger. You can feel the
flow of the spell as it does what it is supposed to do hold Nirvana against the
rock face. Feel the spell it’s different to our magic in a way, it’s so old
compared with today’s magic.’ He looked at the others as he spoke of the spell.

The others had joined him in
fixing the spell; they let their flow of magic work through Angel and Aura as
they were the ones who strengthen the spell. They followed the pattern and wove
their magic into it to make it stronger.

When they had finished their
work, they looked at the old spell and it was very hard to see where the spell
had been weakened. They were proud of themselves for fixing it but it had taken
a lot out of them. They were hungry and very tired and still only halfway home
and they had just done magic they have never tried before. They had combined
their magic which was unheard of.

As they headed off they spoke of
the spell. ‘Angel did you feel how old the spell is, it was so different from anything
that I’ve seen so far? It’s a strange magic and I was having trouble keeping up
with what you were doing to it.’ Medwin said as they walked back.

‘Shylyn what did you think of the
magic, could you see what we were doing with the old spell. Could you
understand it?’ Angel looked at her as he spoke.

‘I was the same as Medwin I had a
lot of trouble understanding and following what you and Aura where doing.’
There was a puzzled look on her face as she tried to explain to Angel.

‘Maive were you the same as
Shylyn and Medwin, or could you understand what we were doing?’ Angel was
trying to work out why they did not understand, as he asked Maive.

‘The same as the others I could
help but I couldn’t understand what you were doing. I could not see the pattern
that you were seeing. I was able to let you have the help of my magic and that
was all.’ Maive looked at him in wonder as she told him.

‘The spell was so old but the
strength in it was incredible, without your help we would not have been able to
fix it. We could clearly see the pattern in the spell where as before when we
went to see our dragons I couldn’t. The only thing we did different from the
rest of you was when Aura and I cleared each others magic paths. That’s got to
be it.’ There was a sparkle in his eyes as he spoke of what he was seeing in
the old spell.

Medwin spoke as they come to the
door to the next dragon deck. ‘You must have joined magic’s when you both
cleared each others paths. That altered the magic and allowed you to see the
pattern. Your magic has changed and I think is now stronger than any others.’

As they were about to go through
the door into the next deck their dragons come into the minds as they picked up
on the dragon in the cave. Their dragons let them feel what they were feeling
from the dragon. They could feel pain, a lot of pain and then in their minds
their dragon could pick up what the adult dragon was seeing and feeling.

They could see a wizard and he
was angry, his anger was directed at the dragon and they could feel the pain of
the spell the wizard threw at it. For no reason the wizard had cast a spell of
pain to hurt the dragon. They couldn’t understand a wizard using magic to hurt
a dragon, this was unheard of.

The dragon was reeling in pain as
the wizard did it again, why he was doing that when he was going to have to
ride it. They could see he was angry but why, and then they heard him say
something to the dragon. ‘Someone has fixed what took me weeks to do, I had a
nice hole in the spell and then someone fixed it, all that time for nothing.
Move you miserable creature before I really fix you.’

They could see through the
dragons eyes the wizard climb on to its back and remove the spell holding it
captive. Then the wizard spoke again. ‘Up creature and home, I’ll find who fixed
what I had done and when I do they will wish they had never messed with me.
I’ll be back and I’ll have that spell destroyed.’
