His
arms squeezed me tight, his fingers moving down to lace between mine
and holding on tightly. “Get some sleep, baby,” he said,
his own voice sounding sleepy. “I'm right here.”

I
closed my eyes, feeling another shiver rise up my spine at his words.
He was right there. And maybe that was the problem.

Because
I had a sudden and powerful realization that that was exactly what I
wanted. Him with me. And it was so absurd, so uncharacteristically
sappy of me. And, at the same time, completely terrifying.

Also,
he totally won... like he said, in every fucking way possible.

Seventeen

I
woke up some time later to Isaiah's lips kissing my neck, his hand
sliding up and down my bare arm. “Finally,” he mumbled
against my skin.

“Hmm?”
I asked, looking out the window, feeling disoriented.

“I've
been trying to wake you up forever,” he said, his fingers
settling on my elbow.

“Why?”
I asked, feeling entirely too good wrapped up in his arms. As an
answer, he shifted his hips behind me, his erection pressing into my
thigh. “Oh,” I said, smiling because he couldn't see me.

“Yeah...
oh,” he said, his fingers moving to my breast, brushing over my
nipple, making it strain out toward him.

“Can't
get enough of me, huh?”I teased.

“Nope,”
he agreed, stroking down my belly and pressing his fingers between my
thighs, his finger finding my clit easily, making my body jerk back
against his. “I figured we would try something different this
time,” he said, kissing my shoulder, his finger working circles
over my clit.

“Different?”
I asked, my head falling into the crook of his neck, my fingers going
to the arm tormenting me and holding onto his wrist.

“Mmmhmm,”
he said, pulling his fingers away and shuffling around behind me for
a second before curling around me again.

“Different
how?” I asked, curling up into myself further as his knees
settled behind mine.

“Like
this,” he said, pressing his pelvis into me, his cock pushing
against my entrance. His hand reached for mine, holding it, as he
ever-so-slowly inched his cock inside me. I felt myself tighten
around him, grabbing each bit he gave to me, pressing back into him.
But he wouldn't just thrust forward and bury into me, he was dragging
it out, making me squirm. “Does that feel good, baby?” he
asked, his hipbones pressed against my ass.

“Yeah,”
I said, my voice a breathy sound.

“How
about this?” he asked, pulling out slightly, then pressing deep
again, hard. Slow, excruciating, but powerful.

“Yes,”
I groaned, my hand grabbing his hard.

He
kissed my jawline and started thrusting into me. A slow, unhurried
pace, but each slam forward had me grabbing at him to keep my body
from flying off the bed. He pulled the back of my hand up to his
mouth and kissed it before releasing it to fall, numbly, down by my
side. His hand slid down my belly and between my thighs, brushing
feather light over my clit as he continued rough, but slow
penetration. My orgasm was inching upward, each thrust making my
breath like a slow, strangled drag that made my lungs burn with the
effort.

“Oh,”
I groaned, grabbing the sheets. “Isaiah, I...”

“Come
for me baby. Let go,” he whispered in my ear.

And
then I did.

It
was a a different type of orgasm, a slow, forceful throbbing I felt
through my whole pelvis and had me letting out a sound that was more
of a sob than a moan. Isaiah's arm went around me, squeezing me tight
as he rocked back into me hard and hissed out his breath as he came.

“Wow,”
I said, sucking in a deep breath, leaning into his chest.

“Yeah,”
he said, sounding pretty fucking pleased with himself and I couldn't
even begrudge him it. “I figured that was a good reason to wake
up at four in the morning.”

I
laughed, feeling sleep pulling at my eyes again. “You're right
by the way,” I said as I started to fall asleep.

“About
what?”

“It
was totally worth the wait,” I said and drifted off to sleep.

“Open
the fucking door!” Jay's voice yelled as his fist slammed into
the wood over and over, making me fly off the bed before I was even
fully awake, my eyes wide and wild.

Isaiah's
got up too and I put a hand to my lips to silence him, grabbing his
clothes off the floor and throwing them at him, gesturing toward the
bathroom. He gave me an odd smile, his head tilted to the side like
he wanted to say something, but didn't, and silently let himself into
the dark bathroom.

“Hold
the fuck on,” I growled at Jay, grabbing my t-shirt and
slipping it on, kicking my ripped panties under the bed and fumbling
for a new pair in my bag. “I'm coming.” I slipped into
the panties and unlocked the door, ripping it open. “What the
hell?”

Jay's
eyes were red and small like he had been woken up. And judging by the
bright yellow light in the room, it was probably around seven in the
morning. Definitely not a time when you typically see Jay out of bed.
He held up his phone, shoving it in my face. “Your fucking
parents have been calling me every five minutes for the past half an
hour.”

“My
parents?” I asked, my brows drawing down.

“Why
the fuck do they even have my number?”

“I
don't know. I guess I gave it to them in case of an emergency.”

“Yeah
well a-fucking-parently, you being in town and not telling them is a
god damn emergency.”

“Augh,”
I said, shaking my head. Great. That was just great. As if I didn't
have enough to worry about. “Great.”

Jay
slipped his phone away, turning his head slightly to the side. “You
had sex,” he said, making me jump and proving my guilt. “You
little slut, you. Who is he? Where is he?”

“He's
not here,” I said, putting my hand on the door and holding it
so he couldn't storm past me.

“Where'd
you meet him? You went to your room alone.”

“I...
ran into him in the hall,” I said, forcing myself to keep my
face straight.

“Was
it good?”

“Jay,”
I said, my voice a warning. I did not want to talk about having sex
with Isaiah with him hiding in my bathroom.

“Alright
fine,” he shrugged. “But fucking deal with your parents.
I need my beauty rest,” he said, turning and making his way
down the hall.

I
closed the door, sliding the lock. “Coast is clear,” I
grumbled, going to my bag and rummaging for my phone. Isaiah walked
back out, pants on but shirt still off, looking at me with a raised
brow.

“Ran
into my in the hall, huh?”

I
snorted, looking over my shoulder at him. “It's true enough. It
will be easier all around if no one knows about this.”

“Ashamed
of me huh?” he asked, smirking, sitting down on the bed.

“It's
just... it will make things messy. And things are crazy enough,”
I said, rolling through my contacts.

“Calling
your parents?” he asked, looking like he had no intention of
leaving so I could do so in private.

“Unfortunately,”
I said, hitting the send and bringing the phone up to my ear as I
walked toward the window. “Hey, Dad. Yes, I heard. I know. My
phone was off. No I did not know Jay's outgoing message was that
filthy,” I said, rolling the tension out of my shoulders. Ten
seconds on the phone with him and I was all in knots.

“Were
you not planning on telling us you were in town? Or just sneaking out
and hoping we wouldn't find out.”

The
latter. Definitely the latter. “We have a very tight schedule,
Dad. I didn't have time to...”

“Well
you are going to make time,” he cut me off. “Michael is
in town and we are having a dinner party tonight...”

“Dad
I can't come tonight. We need to get back on the road if we are going
to make the next...”

“Darcy
Alexandria Monroe,” he said, how tone taking on a edge he only
used in situations when he meant business. I felt like I was a ten
year old disappointment getting a A-minus in math all over again.
“You will be here for the dinner party tonight and you will
bring a respectable man to have on your arm and...”

“Dad.
I can't get a date on that short of...”

“What?
Is your ridiculous lifestyle so repugnant that you can't find one
decent man to accompany you to an event?”

Oh,
the bastard. I hit my head hard against the wall, then hearing a
coughing noise, turned. Isaiah was sitting off the side of the bed
watching me. When he saw me, he shrugged and pointed at himself.

I
covered the speaker on my phone. “You don't want to go,”
I warned him.

“It's
fine,” he said, shaking his head.

And
honestly, he was my only option. It wasn't like I could throw a suit
on any of the other guys and have him pass off as decent society.
Isaiah, for all intents and purposes, was polite society. He had
money. He had a reputable business. He would probably fit in better
than I would. “Thank you,” I whispered, dropping my hand.
“Alright. Fine. Yes, Dad. What time? Alright. I'll see you
there.”

I
hung up feeling heavier. Literally. My body felt heavier than it had
five minutes before. “So what am I taking you to?” Isaiah
asked.

“My
parents are having a dinner party because his old business partner is
in town. It is going to be snooty and pretentious and feel like it
lasts forever,” I said, already dreading it. “You
wouldn't happen to have a suit with you, would you?”

“Of
course I have a suit with me,” he said as if it was the
stupidest thing in the world to
not
carry a suit with you at
all times.

“Oh,
okay. Good. I, on the other hand, have absolutely nothing that would
be appropriate.”

“So
you do some shopping,” he shrugged, standing up and slipping
his shirt on.

“Yeah.
Augh, Burt is going to be so pissed.”

“He'll
understand. He has a family too somewhere. Besides, he usually has a
schedule that allows for an extra day between stops. Just in case.”

“I
guess. I just hate to waste them like this.”

“Your
parents can't be that bad.”

“They're
just... we're so different is all. And I always feel like an
outcast.”

“Well,”
he said, shrugging and walking to the door, “I'll be there. We
can quietly look down on them and slip as as soon as possible.”

I
nodded, watching him peek into the hall before stepping out.
“Isaiah,” I called as he started to close the door.

“Yeah?”

“Thanks
again. You didn't have to...”

“It's
not a big deal,” he said, shaking his head. “What time do
we need to be there?”

“Eight.”

“Alright,”
he said, nodding then closing the door.

Which
was good. I didn't even need to kick him out. It made it easier. Just
because we had sex didn't mean, well, it didn't mean anything.

And
I was not in any way upset to see him go. Nope.

I
dragged Jay to the store with me, not entirely trusting myself to not
buy the most gothic, gaudy, slutty dress I could find just to fuck
with my parents. Despite his penchant for women in the smallest
amount of material possible, he actually had pretty decent taste in
clothing. Probably due to all those years he spent waiting tables on
snobs with expensive taste.

“Not
black,” he said, shaking his head at me as I instinctively went
toward the black cocktail dresses. “Your parents hate the goth
shit. No,” he said, sounding intolerably condescending as I
reached for a different one, “not red either. It's too slutty
and desperate and meant for cougars.”

“Oh
my god,” I groaned, looking at the ceiling. “Just pick
out something for me then. I can't do this all day.”

He
shrugged, walking around the racks. “So what do your parents
have in store for you?”
