Chapter 101

When General Klizan woke up, he
found himself only wearing underwear and strapped on a steel chair. He looked
around calmly. The room was more like a metal container, sealed and solid. He
tried to move a bit, but the chair was way too heavy. He remembered everything
until the blackout and he had a hunch who was behind all this.

About
two hours later, Klizan felt that the floor started to sink and it lowered to a
big glass box. Klizan saw Liutein and Lreque on the other side of glass.

“Surprise?”
Liutein said proudly.

“I must
say you do have some balls.” Klizan said calmly.

“This
conversation will decide whether I will have more balls than you. So if I were
you, I will be careful.” Liutein said easily.

“We all
know why I am still alive, don’t we?” Klizan grinned. He clearly knew Liutein
could make a clone of him and then kill him. But the deployment of fleets
required the code that came directly from him. Right now Liutein was not able
to command any of Glycan fleets. Besides this, Klizan was the only one who
could initiate Glycan’s ultimate weapon, the Gaya cannon. Glycan was the only
species could weaponize dark energy. The Gaya canon was the crown jewel of such
weapons.

“I guess
you really want to do this.” Liutein said as he winked at Lreque. Lreque walked
away and returned with three old Glycan women several minutes later. They were
all Klizan’s wives.

“How
come I am not surprised? What else you got?” Klizan said in a relaxed tone.

“All of
your families and your friends’ families. Do you think your loyal friends and
subordinates will sacrifice their families for you?” Liutein said coldly.

“You are
very welcome to kill them all.” Klizan said carelessly.

“I will
keep the girls.” Liutein said with an evil smile.

“You are
still too young. You know how this will end, right?”

“Please
enlighten me.”

“This is
what I offer. You let me go. I will only kill you but spare your family.”
Klizan said confidently.

“Sometime,
I really admire your confidence.” Liutein said ironically as he presss a
button. The floor beneath Klizan started to ascend, bringing Klizan back to the
metal container.

“What
else we got?” Liutein asked as he glanced over at Lreque.

“All
those generals don’t give in. Other people switched to our side.”

“Those
people doesn’t matter. Without an army in our hands, we won’t last long.
Anything from Estian?” Liutein said calmly.

“Two of
Estian’s fleets has reached the circumference of our defense system. Our fleets
stopped them.”

“Did
they receive my order?”

“Yes,
they did. But they say they are waiting for the order from their fleet
commanders.”

“I am
not surprised.” Liutein sighed. He knew this was just the start of problems.
All fleets would soon started to check in with their commanders.

“The
prime minister of Estian called and asked about the access to the Gaya cannon.”
Lreque said in a worried tone.

“I will
call him back. What else?”

“We have
questioned scientists who have close ties with Klizan. One scientist named
Zserie said that they have been doing research on Hylocan eyeballs and managed
to build a huge one on planet Agirue.”

“This
result is consistent with what Human found.” Liutein said excitedly.

“Yes.
The eyeball has been fitted into the Cruiser General Klizan and they have
finished the test runs.”

“Where
is it?” Leituit asked hastily.

“Nobody
knows except Klizan and Kalan.”

“I see.
It’s good Estian never found out what they are doing on planet Agirue. Iteiten
once told me that Klizan was doing something on Agirue.” Liutein said in a low
voice.

“I will
ask Human to find the eyeball as soon as possible.”

“And
tell them this is their first priority.”

Liutein
was happy that he made this move before Klizan was able to use the Hylocan
eyeball, but he also knew this was just the beginning.

Chapter 102

When General Kalan finally got
out of the hall and ran into the forest, it was the second day noon. He was
tired and hungry, but he kept going. He tried several times to call Neiteo, but
he couldn’t get through. He was dying to save his family, but there was nothing
he could do without his fleet. Later he recalled the big Hylocan eyeball. He knew
where it was, but he couldn’t contact the crew operating the Cruiser General
Klizan. Because it required encrypted communication device. He was worried that
Liutein might learn the location of the eyeball from Klizan. If Liutein had the
eyeball, everything was done. Kalan thought for a while and decided to ask
Klaycon to go there and contact the crew in person. He took off his badge and
called Klaycon.

“Dad,
are you alright?”

“I am
fine. How about yourself?” Kalan said excitedly. He was so happy to hear from
Klaycon.

“I am
all right. We left the training center. If you didn’t call me beforehand, I
would die. How about my mom and others?”

“I have
no idea where they are, but I will figure it out and save them. In order to do
that, I need your help.” Kalan said seriously.

“Sure.”

“We have
a weapon on planet Yuwtoow that will save us all. Go to that planet and find
the Cruiser General Klizan. When you find it, you tell the crew what happened
and asked them to leave Yuwtoow immediately.”

“Why you
care an old cruiser?”

“Klaycon,
do what I said. We can’t afford to let the royal family has it. Do you
understand?” Klaycon said in a hard voice.

“Right
away. Dad, you take care. Stay safe.” Klaycon said emotionally.

“I will.
Don’t worry about me. I will be fine. Klaycon, we all count on you. I will call
you later.” Kalan said hastily and hung up. He didn’t want to give Liutein the
chance to track down the call.

Klaycon
put back his badge and rushed to the bridge. Everyone was there except Jason
and Gloria.

“We will
go to planet Yuwtoow.” Klaycon said in a hard tone.

“What is
the plan?” Zier asked curiously.

“On that
planet, we will find Cruiser General Klizan.”

“But
why?” Zier asked.

“We have
to secure a weapon on that cruiser.” Klaycon said.

“This is
what your father told you, right?” Carila asked.

“Yes. He
is counting on us.”

“I
thought we could count on him.” Zier said as he shook his head.

“Shut
up! Zier!” Carila yelled.

“It’s
your call, Klaycon. I will follow your lead.” Nissen said.

“Where
are Jason and Gloria?” Klaycon said as he looked around.

“Don’t
know. Don’t care.” Carila said casually.

Others
simply shook their heads.

Klaycon
left the bridge and checked around. It was a small cargo vessel so it didn’t
take him very long to locate them. Not to his surprise, they were together.
Jason was leaning against a wall and looking out of a porthole. Gloria was
standing by his side. Driven by curiosity and jealousy, Klaycon tread lightly
and slowly to them and listened their conversation.

“You
didn’t ask your friends to come along this time?” Gloria asked gently.

“No. I
had a bad feeling about this.” Jason said in a worried tone.

“That is
not like you. You always see the good side.” Gloria joked.

“From
time to time.” Jason sighed.

“I only
do this for one time and that’s it. I don’t want to owe Klaycon.”

“What
did he do to make you owe him?” Jason asked unhappily.

Gloria
turned away her head to escape Jason’s stare. She thought for a second and
said, “I borrowed a vessel from him and used it to save you last time.”

“I will
return this favor myself.” Jason said coldly.

Gloria
sighed. She was happy that she didn’t tell Jason about how Klaycon saved her
from the death sentence. She knew Klaycon begged Klizan to save her.

“I know
you hate him.” Gloria said innocently.

“That is
under the statement.” Jason said in a provocative tone.

“Jason,
I guarantee you there is nothing between Klaycon and me.” Gloria said in a
begging voice.

“I
certainly hope so!” Jason said ironically.

Klaycon
let out a sigh. He cleared his throat and walked out from behind a wall. He
looked at Jason coldly and said, “We will go to planet Yuwtoow. Can you set the
course?”

“Is this
your plan or someone else’s plan?” Jason asked.

“Oh, you
want to discuss who is in charge here?” Klaycon said impatiently.

“We can
find it out real quick.” Jason said as he tightened his fists.

“Guys,
we are not doing this here!” Gloria shouted.

Jason
and Klaycon stared at each other, preparing to attack.

“Klaycon,
we will be in the bridge in a second.” Gloria said nicely.

“One
day, after all this, we have to figure this out. You know that, right?” Klaycon
said in a hard voice.

“I can’t
wait.” Jason said with an evil grin.

Klaycon
headed out angrily.

Chapter 103

While Mark was waiting in the
hangar, he never saw Jason leave the cargo vessel. Then he saw several Glycans
run into the cargo vessel. He was shocked. Then the vessel took off. Mark knew
Aron was tracking down all the vessels leaving the training center, so he
decided to deal with this later.

After
several hours, Mark and Salmon finished cleaning up the Glycan area and then
they delivered all Glycan trainees, dead or alive, to planet Satulous. Mark was
thinking taking a break and found his son, but they received an order from Treton
London which requested them to locate Cruiser General Klizan as soon as
possible. None of them had any clue. While they were pondering what to do next,
Mark contacted Aron and learned that the vessel carrying Jason was now on
planet Yuwtoow. Mark recalled the name and knew there was a facility Diilre
built for superace. Mark didn’t really care the cruiser at the moment, so he
made up the relation between the cruiser and planet Yuwtoow. Aron and Salmon
believed him and now they were on their way to planet Yuwtoow. The order also
mentioned that the big Hylocan eyeball was fitted into the Cruiser. Mark knew
there was something about the cruiser, but he was a little surprised to learn
this.

Salmon
walked to Mark leisurely and said, “We will get there in about one hour. What
are you thinking? You look lost.”

“I don’t
like where this whole thing goes.” Mark said tiredly. He was actually thinking
about Jason and wondering how he got involved with those Glycans.

“What do
you mean?” Salmon asked.

“So what
we get if the royal family won?”

“I don’t
know exactly, but I will say a big paycheck.”

“I am
quite sure this is a black operation.”

“Does it
matter? I mean we are all in this because of money. You do it for your sick
son. Am I right?”

“Our
ancestors probably thought that after we could explore other planets and
galaxies, we will have enough resources for everyone. Everyone will have a good
job and just lay back and enjoy life. They were lucky enough to die early. They
didn’t see this mess.”

“Man,
you really think a lot.”

Mark
smiled in embarrassment. He knew they both stuck here with no way out. It was
just the way it was.

One hour
later, their vessel entered the atmosphere of Yuwtoow. It was a purple planet
dotted with geysers shooting liquid hundreds of kilometers into the sky. The
purple color came from moss and lichen.

Mark had
no idea where the facility was, so they sent out more than 30 probes to scour
the planet. He didn’t care about the facility, but he did hope to find the
vessel carrying Jason. After a long while, they found the entrance. It was a
huge geyser.

“They
certainly designed a very good entrance.” Salmon said in surprise as he gazed
down at the geyser from the bridge. Tons of liquid came out of it
intermittently.

“There
might be other entrances.” Mark said as he marveled at it. He was still
thinking about finding Jason.

They
waited for a while. All probes returned with the same information: there was no
other entrance, so Mark and Salmon decided to get in there. The vessel
suspended next to the geyser for a while. Salmon lost the patience and flew the
vessel into the geyser right after one eruption. The opening was actually a
skylight of a dome. As the vessel descended in the dome, another eruption shot
it. Instead of going out through the skylight, the vessel hit hard on the dome,
and then glided to the ground.

In the
bridge, Mark felt he was on a roller coaster for the past several seconds.
Salmon didn’t strap himself in the chair, so he bounced up and down several
time in the bridge and ended up shooting his lunch on the dashboard.

The
vessel sustained some damages. Mark and Salmon left dozens of soldiers to
assist the repair, and went into the base with the rest.
