Chapter 88

The next day before dinner,
Titainein, Sayilin, Idi and Orizy arrived at Erikon’s house. They all travelled
long way to come to see Jason. Idi even cried when she met Jason. They soon
learned that Jason only lost the memory about Gloria and the Hylocan girl. They
talked about it for hours, but none of them had any solution, except Erikon who
suggested Gloria have sex with Jason to recall his memory.

After
dinner, Jason went to swim in the pool behind the villa. Gloria and Titainein
were watching him from the second story balcony. Erikon and others were playing
simulation games in the game room.

It was a
quiet night with cool breeze.

Titainein
took a sip of the beverage and said, “Have you ever thought there might be
another possibility?”

“What do
you mean?” Gloria asked.

“I am
thinking Jason might ask Hylocan to remove you from his memory.”

“That is
impossible! He loves me. That Hylocan bitch Lisania did it so that she could
replace me.” Gloria said angrily.

“But
Jason didn’t remember Lisania either.”

“It
doesn’t matter. Then why Jason remove me?”

“Because
he loves you so much. He knows he can’t stop it. He knows if you two continue
like this, both of you will die just like Logan and Lilisa.” Titainein said
sincerely.

“Do you
love him?” Gloria asked, staring at Titainein.

“Yes,
but not in the sense you mean.” Titainein said easily.

“That is
a real comfort.” Gloria said ironically.

“Even
now, although Jason couldn’t remember you, I can tell he likes you very much.
The way he looks at you and listens to you. Sooner or later, he will find
himself repeat the old story. It’s not too late to stop it now” Titainein said
in a worried tone.

“So that
you can take over?” Gloria said coldly.

“If I
really want to, I will have done it without you realizing it.” Titainein said
confidently.

Right at
this moment, Jason got out of the pool. Both Gloria and Titainein leaned
forward to get a better view. He wasn’t bulky or big, but his wide shoulder,
ripped abs and lean muscles delivered the natural beauty of a man.

Gloria
shot out of the chair, rushed to downstairs, grabbed a big tower and walked to
Jason.

“Thanks.”
Jason said as he took over the tower from Gloria.

“You are
very welcome.” Gloria said in a sweet voice.

“I can
see why I love you before.” Jason said politely.

“Thank
you.” Gloria said shyly.

“I am
sorry I can’t remember anything. So how you and I met?”

“In the
Glycan library, it was not that romantic at the very beginning.” Gloria said
and smiled reluctantly.

“I
didn’t fight with you, did I?”

“Yes,
you did and more than once.”

“Did I
win?” Jason asked curiously.

“No, you
didn’t. Now I think about it, you are very violent.”

“I guess
I got it from the preselection institution. When Erikon and I was there, for
the first two years, we had to fight for everything. The senior guys always
tried to take advantage of new guys and when Erikon and I became the senior
ones, we thought we could change that.”

“You
learned your fighting skills in the preselection institution?”

“Actually,
I learned it by myself. The teachers didn’t teach us much, because they
believed that it is very rare to get into hand to hand combat in the
battlefield. That is truth. But I think I like fighting.”

“Yea,
tell me about it.” Gloria smirked.

“Maybe
we can try sometime, I can’t believe I lost to you.” Jason joked.

Gloria
smiled in embarrassment. They chatted until midnight and talked about
everything from families to lives in training center. Jason felt they had
endless things to say and they both enjoyed the conversation. Before they
parted for their own rooms, Gloria asked Jason to come to her room, but Jason
shied away. He was still worried that Gloria would inject that blood into him.

Chapter 89

General Klizan had been waiting
for this moment for the past three months. The eyeball was ready to be fitted
into Cruiser General Klizan. He felt it was fate that the super vessel named
after him was going to carry out this mission.

Klizan
arrived at Agirue with Ilina, Tuies, Cazon and Liliyana. Ilina and Tuies were
the members of Joint Commanders of Stuff. Cazon was the vice chairman of
Defensive Department. Liliyana was the chairman of military intelligence
agency. Kalan and Doisgy greeted them. After a brief welcome, all of them
headed to the main hangar where the eyeball installation was ready to start.

Klizan
and other generals saw the eyeball for the first time and they were surprised
by its size which was about 120 meters in diameter. The blue pupil in the dark
red iris was looking at the generals.

“It is
much bigger than I thought.” Liliyana said in surprise.

“It is
huge!” Tuies gaped at the eyeball.

Zserie,
the chief scientist, walked leisurely to the generals and said, “Welcome,
generals. My name is Zserie. I am in charge of this project.”

“So tell
us, what this thing can do?” Klizan said calmly.

“What
you are seeing here is the research result of almost 90 years. We started this
project during UWII. At that point, our plan was to catch the Oracle and get
her eyeballs. But as we know, that didn’t work, so we had to change the plan.
Using what we recovered from the dead Oracle, we managed to grow this. There
were a lot of failures, of course, especially at the beginning. One of the
things was to keep the eyeball alive. That is why we have to consistently feed
this eyeball with the liquid we squeeze from the eyeballs we collected from
Hylocan reserve. We…”

“Zserie,
General Klizan ask what it can do.” Kalan interrupted Zserie politely.

General
Klizan and other generals smiled at Zserie kindly.

“Sorry,
I was a little carried away. Anyway, this can do everything an Oracle can do
and it is much powerful than the Oracle. The Oracle could only have a two to
three kilometer effective range of her power and I think that was the main
reason why Hylocan lost in UWII. But this could reach 100 million kilometers.
When it is installed on the cruiser, it basically can reach anywhere depending
on the position of the cruiser.” Zserie said excitedly.

“What
about the Oracle we captured five or six months ago? Did you made any use of
her?” Klizan asked.

“I was
looking for this question. We removed her eyeballs and I used them to extend
the capability of this eyeball. This eyeball now can simultaneously engage more
than 20 million targets.” Zserie said proudly.

“More
than 20 million. Do you know the limit?” Klizan asked.

“We
don’t know yet.”

“Speaking
of which, General Kalan, do you find the Oracle?” Liliyana asked.

“Not
yet, General Liliyana.” Kalan said in embarrassment. He planned to track Jason
down to find the Oracle but he only ended up locating Lucis. He had no idea how
the tracer got into Lucis’ body.

“Without
the eyeballs, she is no longer a threat.” Cazon said easily.

Just at
this moment, some 20 robots slowly gathered under the bottom of the eyeball.

“General
Klizan, we are ready to start the installation.” Zserie said.

“Go
ahead.”

Those
robots lifted the eyeball in the air and Cruiser General Klizan slowly glided
under the eyeball. It opened its hull and the robots slowly lowered the eyeball
down into the compartment. Six tissue arms slowly rose up from the deck and
held the eyeball nice and tight. They set the eyeball in place. Then those
robots flew away.

After
the installation, Klizan, Ilina, Tuies, Cazon and Liliyana gathered in a
conference room.

“This is
much better than we expected.” Cazon said happily.

“I
didn’t expect this eyeball could engage that many targets at one time. Then it
will be much easier for us to carry out our plan.” Tuies said.

“We
proceed with our plan. According to what Zserie said, it will take two weeks to
run field tests to make sure the eyeball could function well in the cruiser.
Then they also need more time to test its capability and stability. That might
take another two to three weeks. After that, we can do a real run on the second
species like we discussed before.” Klizan said confidently.

“These
days the royal family is not as active as before. We don’t see that many
protests anymore.” Cazon said.

“Maybe
we don’t even need to use the eyeball.” Tuies said happily.

“We need
to be careful when we use this on our people.” Liliyana said.

“We will
see how it works on second species, and then we will decide.” Klizan said
calmly. He had been waiting for this moment for more than 80 years. He knew he
had to be patient.

Chapter 90

In the past days, no matter how
hard Jason thought, he couldn’t recall Gloria in his memory. He also found a
ring in his pocket which he couldn’t remember where he got it. It was a black
ring carved from a single crystal. When Jason put on the ring, a sentence
appeared on his palm, saying “I love you. Lisania.” He didn’t tell Gloria about
the ring, because he could tell she was a jealous girl. Sometimes he wondered
who Lisania was.

Gloria
had a good time with Jason’s friends. She had never enjoyed life with so many
companies. They played on the beach, hiked on mountain trails and got drunk in
dance clubs. She kept an eye on Jason. She knew he would need that blood when
the moment came and he wouldn’t be able to fight back.

It was a
quiet and chilly night. Gloria, Jason and all his friends were roasting fishes
and enjoying wines around a bonfire at the backyard.

“I kind
of enjoy life like this. Not thinking the responsibility, future and business.”
Erikon said tiredly.

“What
business do you need to think?” Titainein asked.

“Like
what to eat tomorrow?” Sayilin joked.

Everyone
laughed.

“It will
be boring after a while. I mean we are born to do something.” Lucis said in a
relaxed tone.

“It
won’t be boring, if you spent it with someone you love, right?” Idi said
happily as she winked at Jason and Gloria.

“I
really hope so.” Jason nodded.

“You
always have so many troubles.” Orizy joked.

“You are
right about that.” Jason said and gave Orizy a funny salute.

“Is that
the reason you love him?” Sayilin asked Gloria.

“Well, I
don’t know. I hope not.” Gloria grinned.

Everyone
smiled quietly.

“Jason,
how come you always get hot girls? I really want to know.” Erikon said
sincerely.

“Because
I am handsome.” Jason said confidently.

Everyone
booed him. Even Jason laughed at himself.

“Talking
about handsome, I am more handsome than you.” Sayilin said decisively.

Everyone
booed Sayilin too.

“Be fair
here. Let’s ask girls, who is the most handsome one here?” Erikon said
excitedly.

“Come
on, Erikon, you know you are the most handsome one.” Titainein said in a joking
voice.

“Yes,
yes.” Erikon shouted as he raised hands into the air.

Everyone
laughed happily.

“One
day, if I find the girl I love, I will do anything for her.” Erikon said
seriously.

“Including
share your food?” Jason asked.

“You
know, that is actually a good question.” Erikon said in a heavy voice.

“Erikon,
I am always wondering since you love food this much, why not become a chef?”
Titainein asked.

“That is
actually my dream. I am telling you. But my father never wants that, so I
picked the thing I like second most.” Eirkon said sincerely.

“What
about you, Titainein? What is your dream?” Idi asked.

“I
always want to become the leader of Tizuee.” Titainein said happily.

“You are
from the royal family. That is definitely possible.” Lucis said.

“Titainein,
you are on the right track.” Jason said.

“What
about you guys?” Titainein asked.

“I want
to marry a handsome and make lots of beautiful babies.” Idi said shyly.

“My
dream is to follow my father’s step and become a farmer. Grow stuff and feed
the hungry.” Orizy said.

“I want
to be a doctor to save lives. When they selected candidates for the training
center, I thought they had medical officer position in Guardian Fleet. But now
I know we are all trained for combat, for war.” Sayilin said.

“I am
quite sure you can catch it up later.” Idi said.

“I will
become a high rank officer just like my father. He is the chair of Human
treasury department.” Lucis said firmly.

“Way to
go, man!” Erikon shouted.

“What
about you, Gloria?” Titainein asked.

“Before
I met Jason, I plan to graduate from training center and become an officer and
live just like that. But now my dream is depending on Jason’s dream.” Gloria
said softly as she looked at Jason.

They all
gazed at Jason, waiting for his answer.

“Now my
dream is to get my memory back.” Jason said quickly.

Gloria
smiled happily and kissed Jason on his cheek.

“I
thought you would say something like becoming a general.” Lucis said.

Jason
winked at Lucis.

“What if
in the future, we are fighting for opposing sides?” Idi sighed.

“Well,
that is the last thing I want to see. I can’t pull the trigger. I will be
wondering whether that is my friend or not.” Erikon said sadly.

“Sometime,
it is not your call.” Sayilin said.

“I don’t
think there will be any war in the near future. The only thing getting on
people’s nerve is that Hylocan stuff.” Titainein said.

“What
are they going to do?” Idi asked innocently.

“What do
you think? They will come after all of us.” Orizy said.

“Should
kill them all when we had a chance.” Lucis said.

“That
will never work. Mass genocide could only generate another mass genocide.”
Jason said.

“Do you
have any better idea?” Lucis asked.

“No.”
Jason sighed.

“Jason,
I always think you are looking forward to wars. You will make your name.”
Titainein said.

Jason
flashed a reluctant smile and looked up into the dark sky.
