They left the liv
ing room using a different exit
and found themselves on the corridor. Jacob pull
ed her towards the second floor
which was filled with
the doors.
Morton opened the closest one and it looked as if it belonged to a rebellious teenager with a dark soul. All
the
walls were black
like
the night. Ther
e was a small bed in the corner
and a Cradle of Filth poster. Jacob was obviously a fan of them.

Carrie looked around
more. N
ext to the bed
there was an old-
fashioned audio
play
er and a stack of vinyl records
and on the other corner there was an elec
tric guitar with an amplifier.
The fake spiderwebs hanging from the ceiling also impressed Carrie.

“Is this your room?”
sh
e finally got it out of herself
and looked at Jacob who leaned on the wall.

“Yes. Carrie…”  He slowly went to her and softl
y grasped her face with his
hands. The girl
’s heart
speed
ed up
when his hand touched
her lower lip
smearing  her  bloodred lipst
ick. Then he got closer to her neck and inhaled her scent
as if he wanted to take a part of her wit
h him. He sighed with delight “I need to tell you something… “
The girl almost fainted when he touched her lip
s and then kissed her “
Just please… don’t be scared … don’t scream… because I don’t want to. .. hu
rt you… or your friends… okay?”
he whispered between
the
kisses.

Carrie moved a few millimeters away from him and looked
into
his eyes burning with passion.

“Why
would I be scared and scream?” she whispered “You wouldn’t hurt us…
would you?”

Entranced by her excitemen
t she put his hand on her thigh and put them under her dress
as she pie
rced his lips with her tongue.
But when she penetrated them with it
,
she felt a sharp sting and mo
ved away with a silent squeak.
Jacob looked at her wit
h
eyes
wide opened
as she noticed two fangs  in h
is mouth
a
nd closed her own with her hand.
She felt that
the
tears were forming in her eyes.

“Y-You … are..?”

“Yes.. Carrie..
I am  a vampire
and so are Blake, Aidan, Zack, Mikaela and Jonathan. That
’s what I wanted to talk to you. It’s
about yours
,
Jay

s and Pagie’s safety. Please, trust me.

Chapter 7

“But… how?”
Carrie didn’t  understand anything. She was a vampire fanatic for yea
rs and often dreamed about meeting one
but she n
ever thought she actually would
and not only one but
five… no.. six. Six vampires?
It would seem
to be impossible
but somehow it happened in this small town called Knoxville. Additionally the town’s priest was a
vampire
which was totally beyond the girl’s understanding
.

“Maybe I
’ll start from the beginning”
Jacob sat on his small bed a
nd patted the place next to him
but Carrie prefer
red to stand with her hands crossed and
penetrated him with her gaze.
“A few years
ago me and Blake created
a sect called the Dark Star. We recruit vampires who worship Lilith, the mother of
the
demons and all
the
immortals.
Unfortunately
, nowadays there are almost no vampires left.  Although we managed to meet Zack, Adian and Mikaela. You could say that since
that time
we’re one big family.  Once in a while we conduct a ritual
on
the cemetery, although not that often anymore.
But
we are always searching for
the new victims for ourselves and for
Lilith
.

“So
that’s why you’ve lured us here? For us to becom
e a sacrifice
?”

Jacob nodded
.

“But that was Blake

s
idea, I didn’t agree with it” he added hastily “His
plan was to throw Jay a
nd Paige on the mercy of Lilith
and you were supposed to watch.  My brother believes that you can be valuable and help us
to
take over the world

That’s interesting, Carrie
thought
to herself. But how could I help
them
?

He start
ed thinking that after reading your diary”
Morton
added.

“What? So
you’re the ones who stole it”
She didn’t expect that, although…

Jake
nodded his head again
.

Not
‘we’
but

me

, to be specific. Blake ordered me to

So
Paige was right! Unbelievable…
Carrie
covered her mouth with her hand again and shook her head feeling a wave of anger rising
.

“What about Jonathan?” She asked
“I always thought he was
a
human…”

“He was
but they
attacked him when I visited you
and Lilith transformed him”

A dead silence ensued
and only
the
music f
rom the living room was heard.
Carrie did
n’t want to say anything else.
In one moment her whole at
titude towards vampires changed
and she decided to burn all the books about them
when
she gets home… if she gets home.

“That’s not all

Morton
added after a while “
We didn’t invite you here becaus
e of the wedding. Each year we conduct the B
loodmoon rite…

“I don’t want to hear anymore about
it”
Carrie
screamed. Jacob wanted to get near her
but she stepped
back and ran away from the room. The
tears
were
flowing from her cheeks.

The atmosphere in the living room changed – quiet, romantic, soothing
music was playing and all the g
uests started
taking
their places. The ceremony was about to begin. Carrie dried her tears and sat next to Paige.

“Girl, where have you been?” the girl
asked when she noticed her
and then lowered her voice into a whisper “You didn’t lock yourself with Jacob for a quickie now
,
didn’t you? I knew it!  It’s
always the quiet ones.. Tell me
, how was it?”

“Shut up”
Carrie
barked
and sniffed. She looked around and turned towards Paige
again
“We
have to run away from here
quick
ly
. It’s not safe here”

“What are you talking about? Why?”

Car
rie noticed that Aidan and Zack, who were sitting next to them,
we
re looking at her suspiciously.
In r
esponse she got closer to Paige
so much that she almost touched her ear with her lips
.

“I’ll explain it all
when
we get out of here. We have to do it before the wedding ends. Quickly
,
pass Jay the message that we’re getting out of here

P
aige sighed and rolled her eyes
but she did just what he
r friend requested her to do.
After hearing what his girlfriend told him, Jay looked a
t Carrie with uncertainty
but she confirmed everything with a nod of her head.  Meanwhile Jacob came back a
nd tried sitting next to Carrie
but she moved as far from him as she possibly could. She couldn’t believe that a few minutes
ago
they
were
almost
making
love on his bed.

Suddenly Aidan stood up and rang a golden bell to signal that the ceremony is about
to begin
. Carrie started praying for a safe escape.

Chapter 8

“We have gathered here today to…”

Blake laughed under his nose and signaled Rosenberg to speed up.

“Let’s cut to the chase
. Jonathan, I hope you
don’t mind that we would like to finish this before sunrise”

Jonathan flipped a few pa
ges from his book and continued.

“Blake Morton,
the
first son of
the darkness, do you
take Mikaela Morgan, the first daughter of
the darkness, as your beloved wife?”

“Yes I do”

The first son and t
he first daughter of darkness?
What
is that supposed to mean?,
Carrie
thought
to herself. Although she understood that they
all were
vampires, she didn’t understand the pu
rpose of all these weird titles.  She carefully
observed the ceremony and waited for the perfect moment to make her move.

“And
Mikeala Morgan, the first daughter of the
darkness,
do you take Blake  Morton, the first son of the d
arkness, as your beloved husband?

Jonathan
turned
to the red-haired woman.

“Yes, I do”

He closed his book, and said”

“If anyone can show the
cause why this couple cannot lawfully
be joined together in matrimony,
let them speak now or forever hold their peace”

Suddenly
the
laughter and
the
che
ers erupted
and everyone scat
tered.  Paige hugged Jay closer
and
the
fear gripped Carrie
’s beating heart.
Lilith, smiling ev
en more brightly than usually,
came from the
back door of the living room.
She w
as wearing
a l
ong black dress without sleeves
and her hair as always was so l
ong that it reached her waist.
The air was filled with the smell of flowers and fruit.

“Congratulations
, my children! What a lovely ceremony”
the vampire goddess
said.
When her gaze moved towards Carrie, Jay and Paige, her smile wide
ned even more.
“I see you brought three lambs. Mmm…” she
licked her lips
sensually
“Three innocent
, delicate
, helpless lambs ready to be butchered!”
she giggled like a little girl and performed a pirouette
and then
she got more serious and l
ooked at Blake
“But
what is this? Blakie, Blakie, B
lakie

Did you forget my benevolence? Did you forget about my blood in your mouth? Did you
forget how strong you’ve become,
how pleasurable it was? Did you forget what I told you to do?”

Blake swallowed his saliva with
a great effort. He was paralyzed
. Everyo
ne looked at him with disbelief
and Mikaela started hyperventilating,  moving to the prink of a panic attack.
