Something in the sky caught his attention but when he squinted to look he found nothing of importance.

However, on rounding the corner to the alley Miller stopped short, his eyes both perceiving but not believing the scene before him.

“What the fuck?”

Miller stood, unable to reach for his gun due to shock, watching in what was surely a moment of insanity as a couple of –
things
… monsters? Angels? - Lay huddled on the ground. At least eight bodies were strewn around the dark passage and a young girl knelt at the end, her head down and her long dark hair like a curtain covering her face.

The air rippled and Miller blinked, but then everything changed.

Vomit curled up his throat, his head shaking as his eyes scanned the area furiously, his mind struggling to cope. Squeezing his eyes closed again, Miller reopened them to the empty alley – empty except for the long-haired girl still knelt, her soft weeping making the depth of his heart hurt.

“Honey?” Miller approached her slowly, not wanting to frighten the distressed girl any more than she already appeared to be. “It’s okay,” he tried softly, his hands out in front of him to show he held no weapon and was no threat.

Gradually, the girl lifted her face to him. As her soft long hair swept from her face, Miller could feel his breath catch in his throat. Her large brown eyes locked onto him as fat tears leaked down her unusually pale cheeks.

“I’m not going to hurt you,” he told her softly when she scrambled back. “I’m a police officer. My name is Grant. Grant Miller. Will you let me help you?”

It was obvious that something serious had gone down here, something … inexplicably serious. The distress radiating from this girl, her terror and the smear of blood oozing from a wound to her head told him so.

Crouching before the girl, still keeping his distance, Miller slowly reached into his pocket and brought out his badge.

The girl’s eyes moved to it. She shook her head and tried to move back again but the wall behind her hindered her plea to escape.

“It’s okay,” he tried again. “I want to help you.”

“No police.” Her voice was like a purr to his senses, his heart rate slowing soothingly with each word. “No police.”

“Okay.” He nodded, slipping his badge back into his pocket. “How about you let me help you just as a friend?”

She frowned then, her face turning to the side so she could study him better. She was quite simply beautiful, the most delicate creature Miller had ever seen in his life, and at thirty-three he’d seen some lookers, but this girl had an aura about her that seemed to curl into Miller’s gut and ease every worry in his sorry life. It wasn’t just her looks that gained his interest, but the way she moved, the way her large eyes almost begged him to help her, the timid way she knelt before him and the indulgent sound of her quiet voice.

“Friend?”

He nodded and held his hand to his chest, what for he had no idea, but it seemed like a good thing to do right then. She swallowed, shifting slightly.

“Let me help you up, honey. The ground must be ripping at your skin.”

She cowered at first but eventually, her long fingers slipped into Miller’s outstretched hand, the touch making his heart tremble. She was so fragile that he was terrified he was going to hurt her as he helped her to her feet. “You need to go to the hospital,” he said as he studied the cut to her head.

She shook her head quickly. “No.”

“Do you want me to take you home?” Her eyes widened and for a moment she looked like a deer caught in the headlights of a damn truck. “I won’t hurt you,” he urged quickly, frightened that she would bolt. “What’s your name?”

She swallowed, her eyes dropping to their joined hands. “S-Sadie.”

Miller smiled. “Okay, Sadie. You should really let someone take a look at your head. You’re hurt.”

Sadie lifted her fingers, the ones that weren’t still gripped by Miller’s hand, and touched them to her head, bringing them away to gently rub the blood between them.

“Please let me take you to the hospital.”

“It will be fine …”

No sooner had she said it, her eyes rolled and Miller caught her before she hit the ground.

“Shit!”

Her slight frame felt weightless in his arms, but her petite body showed off some amazing curves, curves which seemed to mould perfectly to his chest.

Miller was reluctant to take her to the hospital, she had seemed terrified when he’d mentioned it, and after searching her - while she was still in his arms, averse to setting her down – he found no ID.

“Shit!” he mumbled again.

For a moment he debated calling it in to the main desk at the yard but she’d been as adamant about no police as much as she had about the hospital. He knew she was hiding something. Maybe she was a Misper, or wanted for some crime, but somehow his instinct told him that wasn’t the case.

So Miller did the only option available. He took her home.

W
hat a sight to open my eyes to. Willa had her lips wrapped around my cock, her little tongue teasing the slit as she made some sounds that should be illegal.

“Shit!” I hissed as I grabbed a fistful of her hair and started to direct her movements, needing more but scared to my very soul that I was going to burst inside her mouth without the chance of feeling her slick heat around me again.

She was so fucking beautiful, her large blue eyes still drowsy and her cheeks still flushed from sleep as my dick slid slowly in and out of her perfect mouth.

“That’s it, Seraph. Take me deeper.”

She released another little moan, the effect doing stupid things to the hardness of my already solid cock. Plunging deeper, she curled her fingers around the part of my shaft that she couldn’t fit in her mouth and her other hand came up to cup my balls, her fingers softly rolling them around the warmth of her palm.

Her demon had disappeared, as had mine. Her demonic character had surprised me, especially my own demon. She was the most breath-taking creature I’d ever laid my eyes on and taking her in that state had confirmed everything that had stormed my mind and heart for the past few days.

Pulling her head up, I tutted at her. “Too much, too soon. Get that cute little pussy on my cock.”

She smiled, her cheeks flushing with my words but she slowly kissed up the valley of my abs, planting a tiny kiss to each nipple before I grabbed her hair again and pulled her up to my face, slamming her mouth to mine. Another one of her soft groans had me feasting on her tongue, sucking it into my mouth for my taste buds to come alive with.

She became desperate, sliding her pussy up and down the length of my cock, my hardness rubbing her sensitive clit and bringing her to the edge. Reaching down between us, I lined up and on her next slide down, my dick glided inside her. She was so wet that I easily buried deep within her on the first drive.

We both groaned, the twist of our tongues muting the sound, and the clench of her cunt around my cock making me want to weep.

“Move, Seraph,” I whispered with a desperation that would have been embarrassing if I wasn’t losing my mind to her perfection.

She pushed off my chest with her hands, sitting astride me as she started to slide up and down my cock. Her tits bounced with every swift lift and plunge, my hands lifting to caress them greedily. The tips of her hair brushed my thighs when her head fell back and her mouth fell open as I rolled and pulled at her nipples.

Her head shook and her thighs trembled as her orgasm cruelly stayed out of reach but just on the edge enough to drive her crazy. I knew what she needed to tip her over but I clenched my jaw and waited for her to ask.

She stared down at me, begging me without words to help her over as her grinding became frantic, her nails digging into my thighs as she arched her back to push her breasts further into my touch, encouraging and pleading for more stimulation.

It was growing more difficult to hold back, my balls screaming at me to let go and it wasn’t long before I was trembling with need right alongside her.

“You know, Willa. You know what we both need.”

She frowned for a moment, her rhythm faltering but then she gasped when the tip of my cock slid over that little place inside her that made her skin glow.

In a swift move, her chest was squashed flat to my chest and her teeth sank into my neck. A roar of pleasure burst from me when she pierced my skin and her orgasm seized my cock in a fierce hold. Selfish to the end, I followed suit and sank deep into her vein, the liquid nectar blowing my mind as my climax mixed with the consuming pleasure.

Willa dropped to my chest, both of us fighting for breath as our minds tried to find reality. Propping her chin on me she looked up at me, her beautiful big eyes smiling tenderly. Brushing the wild strand of hair from her face, I ran my thumb across her lip, wiping my blood away. “I’m sorry I hurt you, Seraph.”

Her eyes filled with tears and she closed them but when they reopened the signs of her distress was gone. She rolled off me and curled into my side instead. “You didn’t hurt me,” she said quietly, “It was …”

Turning my body to face her, I couldn’t help but touch her, my fingers exploring the perfection of her face. She gazed at me, sorrow pouring from her. “It was what?” I pressed when she clammed up.

“Your father seems taken with Tabitha.”

I tensed, the mention of her name hurting me because it hurt Willa. “I wish I could tell you it wasn’t my baby.” I sighed. “But you have to know that I haven’t touched her …”

“I know!” she cut in quickly. “I know. Hell, we’ve only been together a short while. I understand it was from before me.”

My fingers slid into her hair, the softness calming the anguish curling in my gut. “I just wish I knew where this leaves us. Where we go from here.”

It was Willa’s choice what happened in our future but I couldn’t say I wasn’t terrified. I decided honesty was the best way to go, even if it was the thing that could tear her from me. “My father seems to think that Tabitha is my designated mate.”

Willa blinked, her throat making a funny noise before her eyes slid away from mine. Touching a finger to her chin, I directed her eyes back on mine. “But he’s wrong. He’s so very wrong.”

“But …” she hesitated and ran her lips over her teeth. “What if he isn’t wrong, Rax? What if Tabitha is it for you? She’s having your baby …” When her voice trailed off and she finished her sentence my heart broke for her, the pain inside me threatening to break my soul with it. “Something I am unable to give you now.”

“Oh, Seraph,” I whispered as I pulled her to me, the sound of her heartbreak the most torturous thing I had ever heard in my whole existence. Her tears burned my skin, her despair making my hatred for myself deepen. It hadn’t occurred to me that if I coupled with Willa she would never be able to bear my child. “I love you,” I whispered frenziedly into her hair as I prepared to let her go. She deserved someone who could give her what she wanted, what every woman wanted. I hated that our existence was cruel enough to only grant us one child. “I love you, Willa. I would walk the rest of my existence in purgatory for you to be happy, and I want you to be happy more than my life. You should … I’ll walk away. You deserve your dreams and …”

She looked up at me when I trailed off, unable to say the words that would set her free. Her nose glowed with her weeping, her long eyelashes holding onto the tears that weren’t able to free themselves but she looked more beautiful than I’d ever seen because right then she was honest and open enough to be in my arms allowing me to share her grief.

My heart dropped into my stomach when she moved away from me. I looked away, unable to watch the moment she walked away from me. However, when I felt her slide over the top of me, once again straddling me, I stared up at her.

She was silent but her gaze was soft. I bit my tongue, waiting for her to say the words. Yet she took my hand and slid her fingers through mine, and then lifting our joined hands to the tight skin under her right breast, she flattened our hands and pressed against the beat of her heart.

My own heartbeat galloped when I felt the scorch of heat sear through our hands. She couldn’t be? Surely …
