Up Close and Personal
I'm sure you remember the story in Chapter 2 of Bill and Kathy who fell in love at first sight at an engagement party for their mutual friend and were married under the wet tent in Colorado. Here are their ring vows:
Minister: ''The perfect circle of a ring symbolizes eternity, while gold is a symbol of all that is pure and holy. As you give these rings to each other, our prayer is that your love for each other will be as eternal and everlasting as these rings. William, place this ring on Kathryn's finger and repeat after me:"
Bill (repeating after the minister): "Kathryn, with this ring, I symbolize our union as husband and wifefor today, tomorrow, and all the years to come. Please wear it as a reminder of our deep and abiding love."
Minister: "Kathryn, place this ring on William's finger and repeat after me:"
Kathryn (repeating after the minister): "William, I also give you this ring as a symbol of our union as husband and wifefor today, tomorrow and all the years to come. Please wear it as a reminder of our deep and abiding love."
"___________________, I give you this ring as a symbol, not only of my love for you and my promise to be your faithful husband/wife, but as a reminder that God is also part of our marriage, to be honored and praised every day of our lives."
