“Fucking women!” He shook his head as he got a beer out of the mini fridge, and fell back into the sectional.

“Tell me about it.”

“What problems could you possibly have? All you got to worry about is that sweetbutt, or however many you have. You lucky bastard- got any for me?” He laughed at me then took a swig of his beer.

“True. And I just might, but I’m sure a certain someone wouldn’t be too happy. You run that by wifey up there?” I reclined in my seat.

“That ship has sailed. Believe me, brother.”

“I’m ready.” We heard Nicole yell from the doorway. I peeked up over the couch to say bye to her, noticing she had put on a few more clothes than before- probably because of Jeremy. Ha- he’s got it bad, she seems so pissed. These two are equally stubborn; they should just get it over with and fuck already. Christ.

“Later,” I shouted as they headed out the door.

I heard Roxy’s light footsteps across the ceiling, her door open and she was calling for Nicole. “Nic?!

“They just left,” I shouted back up to her.

“Ugh…of course.”

“You need help?”

“Um…uhh…no?” it sounded more like a question than a statement. Something came crashing down and I bolted up the staircase.

“What the fuck was that?” I rushed into her room to see her wrestling into a red bustier with black lace and a pair of black fringe booty shorts.

Sweet Jesus. I felt my jeans go tight.

“I need help, lacing the back up.” She gave up trying to reach around behind her, her cheeks were flushed and her hair was in my favorite style: full and wild. Just like her.

“Come here,” I demanded. Motioning “come hither” with my pointer and middle finger to her.

“What?” she raised her perfectly shaped eyebrow at me.

“Turn around. I’m an expert at these things.” I smirked down at her.

“Don’t pull any shit while you’re back there. I’m still mad at you,” she said as she turned her back to me and pulled her long curls over her right shoulder, exposing her naked back.

“Mercy,” I mumbled under my breath.

“What did you say?”

“Hurry. I’ll hurry.” I started to tighten the strings.

“So…” Rox was looking over her left shoulder, as she held the front of her bustier against her chest.

“You working tonight?”

“Yeah, just half a shift though. Just some dancing and serving and then I’ll be home.”

“Jeremy have security for you?”

“Yes, he always does.”

“Good.”

“Yeah. Jake will be there so you can have the night off…” She gasped when I tugged too tightly on the strings. “Too tight!” she yelped.

“Sorry.” I shouldn’t be taking my anger out on her. I loosened it up a little.

“It’s okay,” she said quietly. “He’s not a bad guy, you know.”

“Rox...” I didn’t want to fucking hear it.

“I know...” I was finishing up her ties- I was stalling. My fingers brushed her lower back and her breathing hitched.

“I can’t even stay mad at you.” I tied the bow in the middle of her bustier, and she turned around. Her hourglass figure was perfectly wrapped up in a sexy-ass package. Waiting to be opened.

“I’m sorry,” she blurted out, then looked down at the floor and bit her lip. She was playing with the fringe on her booty shorts.

“Don’t.” I grabbed her hand, stopping her fingers.

“Don’t, what?” Rox looked up at me through those thick lashes. Fuck me.

“Don’t apologize. It’s time we face the music. It just isn’t in the cards for us, babe.” I saw it in her eyes, an emotional flinch, her brown eyes going sad. I reached up, tucked a lock of hair behind her ear, and cupped her cheek. She leaned her face into my palm. Her skin was soft and supple- my thumb grazed over her bottom lip. Her small tongue darted out and licked the pad of my thumb. Then she grazed her bottom teeth along my thumb. A groan formed in the back of my throat.

“Chase…” she took deep breaths and the tops of her breasts were threatening to spill out and over.

“Yeah?” I took a step towards her, raising my other hand, taking her face into my hands.

She stared up at me, waiting for the next move. I lowered my face down to hers- slowly brushing my mouth over her lips.

“We shouldn’t…” she grabbed the bottom of my t-shirt, pulling me towards her.

“We can’t.” My hands drifted down her slender neck and stopped on the front of her shoulders, with my palms resting on the top mounds of her breasts. Rox was breathing heavily, her eyes burning into mine.

“I know.” She stood on her tiptoes and kissed my cheek. I shut my eyelids hard and swallowed. I quickly turned my head to catch the corner edge of her full lips. She paused, then turned her face towards mine. She kissed my bottom lip, pulling it between her teeth. I stepped closer to her, putting her chin in the ‘v’ of my thumb and pointer finger, angling her face up to mine. My fingertips resting high on her cheekbone. Rox’s hands found their way to my chest.

We heard a bike approaching the house. Jake. Rox quickly pulled away from me, licking her now swollen bottom lip.

CHAPTER 14

~ Roxy ~

I knew the sound of Jake’s bike from a mile away, the same as I knew Chase’s.

“Go get em’.”

I took a deep breath and slipped on a pair of black skinny jeans and my leather jacket.

“Babe!” I heard Jake yell as he walked inside.

“Coming!” I yelled back while staring at Chase, looking down at me. His eyes darkened and I could see his fists tightening at his sides.

“I’ll see you tomorrow?”

“Maybe later tonight, I could be stopping by the club.”

“Okay.” I jogged down the staircase and saw Jake leaning against the banister.

“Mmm, damn baby.” His large hand tugged me to his body. He was just as big and broad as Chase. I felt small against him. Jake’s calloused hands slid down and caressed my ass, and pulled me up. I giggled as my legs wrapped around his waist, I ran my fingers through his hair. A flash of me with my legs wrapped around Chase’s thick waist and his shirtless body made me shiver. “We don’t have time for that…” He kissed me, stealing the breath out of me. Damn, Chase tied my bustier tight! Ugh, I’ll be thinking of him whenever I can’t breathe tonight. Son of a …

Chase cleared his throat as he started down the steps. “Get a room.” His voice boomed down the stairwell. Jake lowered me to the ground, looking pissed at Chase.

“I’m going to grab a bottle of water and we can get out of here.” Talk about awkward! I squeezed between the two towers of pumping testosterone and hurried to the kitchen. I heard them talking. Talking is good, right? It’s better than them fighting. I quickly grabbed a water bottle and my purse, and walked down the hall to see the boys nose-to-nose, toe-to-toe.

“Would you two put your dicks away, and someone take me to work?” I pushed them apart by their shoulders, grabbed Jake’s hand and dragged him to the front door. “Let’s go, babe, I don’t want to be late.” I led us down the driveway, hopped in my car and Jake on his bike. We headed to the club.

Once he got off the bike, Jake walked me to the back door and gave me a deep passionate kiss.

“What was that for?” I was taken aback.

“I want to remind you what you have here. You have a promised spot in this MC, babe, with me. You and me…it’s what’s right.” My heart was hammering in my chest. “I know we’ve had our moments recently, but you know me, baby. I’ve been busy with club business and I’m on edge with all these eyes watching you. You’re mine. Chase needs to respect that. He’s already crossed the line with you.” He had a firm hold on my shoulder. Scolding me like a child.

“And he has. What does he have to do with anything?” I scowled up at him, and started to walk away from our conversation.

“Roxy!” he called after me.

“Look,” I spun around and got in his face. “I didn’t ask to be followed by all the guys in the MC. That shit just fell into my lap, okay? Someone is after me for some reason and it’s like you’re the last person that could give a shit. Where the hell have you been for the past day? When I’ve needed you, you haven’t been there. No one could reach you, and you know who was there?” He didn’t say a word. “Chase. That’s saying enough right there, someone who is risking his life to protect me. That’s more than I can say about you.”

The back door swung open, Jenny was getting off her shift. She apologized for interrupting and gave Jake a sweet smile. This bitch!

“Keep it moving, bitch.” I shooed her away, to look back and see Jake’s eyes glued to Jenny’s ass.

“Hey!” I yelled at him, his eyes turning back to mine. “Knock that shit off, right the fuck now, because I swear to God if you even think about it, I’ll cut your dick off and feed it to you myself. You need to get your shit together, Jake.” I grabbed the door handle, as he grabbed me.

“Rox, chill the fuck out. You are my girl, not my Old Lady.”

“What is that supposed to mean? That’s not what you were saying a second ago.”

“It means, you have no say in any of this shit. I call the shots.”

“That’s what you think…” I laughed in his face.

He pulled me to him, our noses barely touching.

“Keep your mouth fucking shut, and don’t worry about the shit I do, okay? You mention anything to your Dad, Jeremy or your fucking precious Chase, shit is going to hit the fan.”

“Are you fucking threatening me?”

“What do you think?” He squeezed my arms, I’ll have bruises tomorrow, but I was too much of a hard ass to care right now.

“I fucking dare you, see what happens.” The back door swung open and he immediately released me.

“Roxy?” Nicole called out, peering around the metal door.

“I’m coming.” I walked away from Jake, staring him down.

“What the fuck was that about? It looked like World War III was about to go down out there.” She walked with me to the locker room. I took off my jacket and pants to expose my bustier outfit that Chase had so kindly helped me into. “Hot damn!” Nicole whistled and gave my ass a slap as I bent over to put my heels on.

“Jake is a piece of shit. I have to remind myself why I’m with him. Something is up with him, Nic. I can feel it in my bones. He has been distant, stays out late at night with God knows who. When we do talk, he’s short with me. How the fuck should I know what is going on with us? Shit was so good in the beginning. It’s like once I finished school, and Chase and I…”

“Saw each other and wanted to hump each other like rabbits in heat is what happened.” She laughed.

“No…it’s not like that. Shit with him and I is complicated and…I have no clue how to explain that shit either. It’s like we both know we shouldn’t, but this is going to be hard with him around all the time. How am I supposed to just put that on the back burner? If it came down to my life on the line, hands down I know Chase has my back. I wish I could say the same for Jake. How can it be like that? Jake is a part of my own MC, if anything, he should be kissing my ass because my Dad is the President. How my Dad doesn’t notice this shit is beyond me.” I shook my head.

“Babe, you’re thinking about this too hard. You need to listen to what you want. What your heart wants, not your mind. Are you talking yourself into wanting to be with Jake? Because it’s what’s the club wants? What your Dad wants? Or will you listen to your heart and go after what you want, or rather, who you want?” She fluffed the back of my hair for me.

“I don’t know, Nicole, I just want to get out there and dance for right now.”

“Okay, let’s get going, babe.”

“By the way…” I stopped and looked back at her. “What was that with you and Jer earlier?” I laughed, knowing she hated when I teased her about their unspoken love bond.

“Oh God, don’t even go there, girl. It was nothing.”

“Ha, yeah right.”

We walked to the bar. Tonight was busy; Jeremy had some local DJ in tonight- the bass of the music rocked through my body. I walked up to the girl who was dancing on the platform stage that surrounded the dance floor, she hopped down and I went up in her place. Jeremy must have had the poles installed this week. I’m sure Nicole had some influence on that decision. I let the music take control of my body and I let everything roll off me.

Dancing was such a release for me. I forgot everything bad: my dead mother, my pressing father, my now jealous/abusive boyfriend, the person who was after me, my addiction to Chase. The green lasers danced about the club, bouncing off the sea of people. Rhianna’s “Cockiness” pounded through the speakers.

I grabbed high on the pole, lining up to do a bumslide to splits move. I raised my feet to the pole, crossing my ankles as I let the top half of my body swing around the back of the pole so that I was now facing it, my arms stretched out to my sides, then I lowered them to the floor into a handstand with my legs still crossed around the pole. I uncrossed my feet to do a split in the air, while still holding myself up by my hands.
