“I want to kill that mother fucker, please tell me they aren’t in the same hospital?” I asked

“No, they have him on lock down, he is going to jail for a long time.”

“Good Zan, that piece of shit doesn’t deserve to breathe the same air as Ta. Now get me to her.” I said

My beautiful Tatum laid there with all kinds of machines and wires around her. Her beautiful blonde hair was full of blood. He had shot her, broken her ribs, her arm, and her nose. She was alive and was going to have a long recovery. I couldn’t believe that bastard would hurt her like that. She was so little and beautiful.

“Ta, I’m here baby. I’m never leaving your side. I will spend the rest of my life making you happy and making sure you are protected. He will never touch you again. Baby if you can hear me squeeze my hand.” I said and I felt her squeeze as a tear rolled down her cheek. “Can you open your eyes Ta, open them for me please.” I said as I ran my hand along her cheek bone. She started blinking her eyes and tried to talk. “Shhh… Baby, it’s okay. I’m here. It’s me."

I called for a nurse to come in and young tall girl walked in. “My name is Ali and I’m Miss Kelley’s day nurse. Looks like our girl wants to talk.” She said, she started removing wires and tubes, and Tatum’s eyes opened and she held my hand tightly.

“It’s okay, love. I’m here and I’m not leaving you. You can talk soon and you can tell me everything.” I said rubbing her face.

“Okay, she should be okay now. Let me know if you need anything else.” The nurse said as she walked out.

“Ev…Evan, thanks you for coming. I have missed you so much. I love you so much. I always have and always will. He was going to kill you if I left him. That first day I saw you after all those years, he said I had to marry him and if I didn’t, he would kill you.” She cried

“Oh sweetheart, I’m here and I’m fine. Don’t cry, love. He will never hurt either of us again. I promise you that.” I said before I bent down to kiss her forehead.

“Do you still want me Evan?” she asked with tears falling down her bruised cheeks.

“Tatum Kelley, I have loved and wanted you since I could remember. This time I’m not letting you go. I will say I have loved and been broken more than once. If you are giving me one hundred percent and aren’t borrowing my heart again, it’s all yours darlin’.” I said as I kissed her.

“Yes, I have never loved anyone but you. I knew that someday I would be in your arms for good.” She said as she kissed me back.

Audrey walked in with Zander and said, “Holy hell, I fucking knew it. Yes you can finally bang the hell out of this hottie.” I just looked at her and laughed.

“Audrey, you talk to fucking much. Do you ever know how to shut the fuck up?” Zander said looking at her.

“Ahh, fuck you Zan. I don’t understand why the hell you always run your pussy eater. That’s why you are single.” Audrey said as she crossed her arms.

“No, I’m single because I can’t deal with people with mouths like yours, that’s all you do is run it. And the shit that come out of it, who the hell would want to kiss someone that fucking talks like that?”

“You probably do, you damn dicktwat.” She yelled as she placed her hands on her hips.

“Fuck...” Zander roared

Then Zander grabbed Audrey and kissed her so hard that Tatum and I are both stared at them. I didn’t know what to say. I just laughed at them. Looked like we were going be one big happy family.

It had been eight weeks since I’d seen Lila and since Tatum and I have become a couple. I told her everything about Bryn, and how I thought falling in love with Lila would take my mind away from her. Tatum knew that I loved her and she loved me. She moved into the loft with me, eventually we would move to the farm. I would be opening a practice there and Zander would be helping me run it. I’d been so busy with Tatum that I haven’t talked to Brody. I hoped everything is okay with him.

Alyssa finally took the hint, and wasn’t coming around anymore. She wasn’t happy that, I was with Tatum and I honestly think that Audrey or Tatum said something to her, because I haven’t seen her in weeks. Not that I miss her, she was so annoying and would never go away.

Tonight was the night that Tatum and I were going to finally make love. It had been years in the making and it was happening tonight. I was working late but I had big plans; I was having dinner delivered along with ten dozen roses, a dozen for each year that Tatum and I should had been together. I went to the lingerie shop and picked her out a sexy nighty. Hell, it was making me hard just thinking about her. I’d wanted that night for so long.

When I got back from lunch I had a message from Brody. I called him back because it sounded urgent.

“Hey Brody, it’s been a while is everything okay?” I asked I could tell his voice was kind of low.

“Evan, Lila was in a bad accident and they don’t think she will wake up. I thought you should know. It happened on her way home from New York. Nikki has been there two months basically.”

“I’m just now finding this out? You couldn’t call me when it happened?” I seethed

“Dude, it wasn’t my place. I’m sorry, but she is at the hospital where Addison was if you want to go see her.”

“Thanks Brody, I have had a lot going on. Tatum and I are together now. It’s a long story, I will fill you in later. Thanks for calling me.” I said as I hung up.

I had to go see Lila, I needed to tell Ta everything. Including the last night Lila and I were together. I called her and asked her to pack us a bag, and told her we were flying to San Francisco. She didn’t ask any questions and she met me at work. We headed to the airport, where I laid everything out. I told her everything about Lila from day one until two months ago. She said she understood everything and was glad I was going to see her.

We arrived at the hospital and I asked the front desk what room she was in, she was in ICU and I was informed only family was allowed to visit. They told me her husband was up there. I found Liam, and talked to him. He surprised the hell out of me, he shook my hand and thanked me for coming. I introduced him to Tatum, who still had some bruising. She said she would wait while I went into see Lila. Liam said that she may never wake up. I guess the plane crashed on her way home that night.

She looked so peaceful, just like she did when she slept. She was in a coma, and they said sometimes people in comas can hear you. So I talked to her just as I would if she was awake.

Hey Lila, it’s Evan. I’m so sorry this happened to you. So much has happened in the last two months, you know you need to wake up for your girls and for Liam. They love you so much. He looks so lost without you. I don’t think he would ever be able to move on if something happened to you. You’re his world, Lila. I know you may not be able to hear me but I love you and always will, but I have moved on. Remember Tatum? She is Zander’s sister. We finally found our way back to each other. You would actually like her, you both have a lot of the same qualities.

She’s had a tough time lately, her fiancé whom she didn’t love, has basically held her hostage and beat her daily and then tried to kill her. She will be okay now though, I’m going to take good care of her. Now you darlin’, you need to wake up so Liam can continue to take care of you. He needs you Lila. Remember that time we went ice skating? You looked like Bambi skating. You need to wake up and tell your girls that story. I’m sure they would love it. Lila, love, you know I will love you until my last breath, we had some good times. You’re not done living though, you have such a great future ahead of you.

Come on just wake up and live that life. The one you dreamed of. I better go for now, but remember you have so many people that need you. Nikki really needs help planning that big wedding of hers. So get better, baby, I love you Lila Ray.
” I said as I kissed her forehead, and I walked out to my future.

“Liam, thanks for letting me see her. I appreciate it. I wish you all the best and please call me if anything changes.” I said as I shook his hand.

“Thank you Evan, I know how much she loves you and you her. I will let you know what happens. Hey would you and Tatum, like to meet Addie and Maddie? They’re in the cafeteria with my mom.”

“That would be great Liam. Thank you.” I said as I grabbed Tatum’s hand and followed him down the hall.

“Hey girls, these are mommy’s friends, Evan and Tatum. Can you say hello to them?”

“Hi, Evun and Matum. Nice meet you Mummie’s friends.” Said Addie

“Hi, yeah meet you like Addie say.” Said Maddie

“Hi girls, you both look like your mommy and I have heard so much about you from your Aunt Nikki.” I said not letting Liam know I seen Lila last month.

“You, kno Aunt Nici?” said Maddie

“Yes, I went to school with her and your mom, and Uncle Brody is my best friend.”

They both giggled and hugged me. It made my heart melt.

“Our mummy is sweeping, her wake up soon the octor say.”

“Yes she will.” I said to Addie.

“I better go, it was nice meeting you two. Take care of your daddy while mommy is sleeping.” I said as I hugged them and they hugged Tatum, too.

We left the hospital and went to a hotel. That was one of the hardest things I had to do, other than bury my mother. Poor Liam, he was so pale and looked like he hadn’t slept in weeks. I couldn’t imagine. I still loved Lila but my life was Tatum. She was mine and Lila was Liam’s.

“Evan, you did really well considering everything. I’m really proud of you, babe.” Tatum said as she held my hand.

“Thanks love, I meant everything I said to you. Now we are having our night.” I said with a wink.

“Oh, I’m more than ready, if you want, you can just take me right here.”

“Hell no, I have waited to damn long to make love to you and it is going to be in a bed, where I can do whatever I want.”

“Well, you better drive fast because just thinking about you inside of me as my wet as hell.” She laughed

Once in the hotel room, I turned on the radio and “Fall” by Clay Walker was playing, that was the perfect song for Tatum and me. We had overcame so many obstacles, and finally she was mine and I needed her to
fall
into my arms.
