He looked at me and smiled before moving quicker, taking my body by surprise in a good way. I was finally getting into a rhythm with him when he buried his face into my shoulder. “Oh my God, Becca, you feel so fuckin’ good,” he whispered just as I felt the warmth of him inside of me.
I smiled as he tried to catch his breath. I loved knowing that my body had the power to make him feel that way. He kissed me on the lips and pulled me on top of him. “Thank you for allowing my first time to be with you,” I said.
“Becca, you are amazing, you know that?” I shrugged my shoulders and looked away. He took my face and moved my head so I was looking at him. “Are you forgetting our lessons? You’re supposed to respond with, ‘Well, yes Drew, I know I’m amazing at everything I do.’”
I giggled and kissed him on the lips. “Well, are you as good at teaching lessons in the bedroom as you are at self-confidence lessons?” I asked.
“Hmmm.....maybe. Would you like to sign up for that class, too?” he teased.
“Oh definitely!” I replied, placing a gentle kiss on his chest.
I wrapped my arms around him and hugged him tightly, suddenly feeling myself becoming sleepy. After a while, I lifted my head and noticed that he was sound asleep. I smiled as I watched his chest rise and fall. Not only did I have a boy in my bedroom, but I had just had sex with him in my bed. I was breaking all the rules and it felt good.
I awoke the next morning in Drew's arms and even though I was still the same girl, I felt like a new one. I had given Drew a very special part of me that I was saving for someone just as special and I didn't regret if for one second. "Good morning," I whispered in his ear.
"Morning," he responded. He kissed me on the top of my head and then got up to dress.
"Hey, where are you going?" I asked as I sat up, covering my bare chest with the sheet.
"Umm....I don't think it's a good idea if your brother knows that I spent the night here."
I looked at the clock and giggled. "It's only seven a.m.; my brother won't be up for at least another four hours."
He stood up and pulled up his shorts. "I got some stuff I have to do this morning," he said, sounding a little off his game.
I bit my lip, slowly regretting what had happened last night between us. Was this his way of getting what he was after and leaving? Or maybe I was really so bad in bed that once was enough for him. "Can I at least make you some coffee?" I asked, throwing on my shorts and tank top that were on the floor.
"No, I really need—" he stopped himself upon seeing the tears in my eyes. "Hey, what's the matter?" he asked, grabbing my waist and pulling me into him.
I shook my head, trying my hardest to play it off. "Nothing."
He tilted my chin so I was looking into his eyes. "Hey, I know what you're thinking and you couldn't be more wrong. I forgot I told a buddy of mine I'd help him move this morning and I'm supposed to be there in twenty minutes." I felt a little relieved but at the same time a little too clingy. I didn't want him to think that just because we slept together, that I felt like I owned him. I grabbed my phone from my nightstand to check the text message that had just come in from Mrs. Barrett before walking him to the door. "You are one incredible girl; you know that, Becca?" he said, taking my face in his hands.
A smile inched across my face. "Yeah, I do."
He smiled back. "That a girl! I'll see you later?”
"Sounds good. Mrs. Barrett just sent me a text asking me to deliver a welcome package to Long Island this afternoon. Once I’m done with that, I have no other plans, so just call me when you're done."
His smile disappeared in an instant. "What time are you doing that?" he asked.
"I don't know whenever I shower and get myself together. She didn’t give a specific time, she just said this afternoon."
"Well, I'll go with you."
I furrowed my brows in confusion. "I thought you just said you have to help—"
He shook his head, looking a little nervous. "I'll be done by this afternoon. I don't want you driving all that way by yourself."
I shook my head and laughed. "Drew, I've driven further than that by myself."
"Yeah, well, why should you go by yourself when I can go with you? I'll drive. You have the address? I’ll plug it into my GPS so we'll be all ready to go." I pulled out my phone and pulled up her text. I rattled off the address while he put it in his phone. "Meet me at my house at two?" he asked.
"Yeah, that sounds good," I responded, giving him an uneasy look while still trying to figure out why he was so hell bent on coming with me.
"See ya later, gorgeous." He gave me a soft kiss on the lips and my insides melted.
"See ya!" I stood in the doorway, unable to wipe the smile from my face as I watched him drive away. I shut the door behind me and jumped when I saw Jordan standing at the bottom of the steps.
“Oh my God, you scared me!” I said, placing my hand over my heart. “What are you doing up so early?”
“I don’t know. I just wasn’t tired, I guess. Don’t worry, your secret’s safe with me.” He smiled.
I tried my hardest to not seem embarrassed as I moved closer to his eye, hoping by some miracle that it healed overnight. Unfortunately, it looked even worse. “Oh Jordan, I can’t stand looking at it,” I said.
“It looks worse than it feels.”
“So do you want to go to breakfast? My treat?” I asked.
He smiled. “Sounds good to me.”
“Okay, I’ll be ready in twenty minutes.”
I headed into my bedroom to gather my clothes before getting in the shower. I sat down on my bed for a minute, picking up the pillow that Drew had slept on, hugging it tightly and breathing in deeply. As I closed my eyes, I replayed last night over in my head. My insides tingled once again, remembering how good it felt to have his lips and hands all over my body. He was so gentle and caring, putting me at total ease. I was still a little sore but it was a good kind of sore; it was a beautiful reminder of what Drew and I had shared last night. I took in one last breath before heading into the shower.
Jordan and I finished up breakfast and spent the early part of the afternoon sitting by the pool. I was actually enjoying myself with him. Outside of his stupid mistake that he had made last night, he really did seem to be growing up. I looked at the time on my phone, realizing that it was already after one and I still had to stop by Lynn Barrett’s to pick up the welcome packet and get to Drew’s by two. I was praying to God that Ashton wasn’t home when I went there. I seriously didn’t know if I would be able to hold back, telling him where to go. He had called Jordan when we were at breakfast to find out what happened. I tried grabbing the phone from him to tell him off, but Jordan wouldn’t let me. I was hoping that he heard the few choice words that I called him as Jordan talked louder to block me out.
“Hey, I have to go run some errands for this charity today. Are you going to be okay here by yourself?”
“Becca, do you think I’m still four years old?”
“I know you’re not, but you will always be my baby brother.”
“I’ll be fine. Lindsay is coming over to keep me company.” He smiled.
“Wow, I’m impressed. You’re still with her?” I asked, knowing that he had been seeing her for a few months now, which was a record for him.
“Yeah, I really like her a lot.”
I smiled. “Well, good, just don’t do anything to screw it up, like what you did last night.”
“I know, Becca. Really, I mean it…..it WILL NOT happen again.”
I got up from the lounge chair and kissed him on the cheek. “Behave! I told Mom and Dad that I had everything under control when they called this morning. Don’t make me out to be a liar!”
“I won’t,” he said, shifting his sunglasses back to his eyes. “See ya later, Becca.”
“See ya!”
I walked through the house and out the front door, and before I knew it I had already picked up the package from Lynn and was pulling into Drew’s driveway. I couldn’t wipe the smile from my face when he opened the door. His muscles rippled through his form fitting tee shirt, making me yearn to feel his hands all over my body again.
“Hey you!” I smiled. He closed the door behind me and I threw my arms around his neck, kissing him hard.
He took my face in his hands. “Gorgeous girl. You’re making me crazy coming over here in your short little skirt and smelling good enough to eat. But we have to be somewhere, remember? And, if we start this now, we won’t be going anywhere for the rest of the night.”
“Fine.” I stuck out my bottom lip and pretended to pout.
He took my hand in his and we walked out the door to his car. I clicked my seat belt and he placed his hand on my bare thigh. “Ready?” he asked.
I was more than ready. But what I was ready for didn’t involve driving anyplace.
We arrived back at Drew’s house a little after six. I was really glad that he was so persistent on coming with me. We hit major construction that took us on a ton of detours that I knew I would have surely gotten lost going through. The benefactor’s home that I went to today was the nicest one I had been to yet. You could fit about four of my houses, which many people referred to as mini mansions, into this one. I found myself picking my jaw up from the ground several times even before I had entered, just at the array of high end cars parked in the horse shoe driveway, ranging from
Porsches
to
Lamborghinis
.
I sat outside on Drew’s patio, staring out at the sound while he showered. I became mesmerized by an older man who had been tossing a stick into the water and his German Shepherd who relentlessly kept going back into the water to retrieve it. I quickly went out to my car and took out my sketching pad and my pencils before walking out onto the beach and taking a seat in the sand. The dog had now taken a break and was sitting side by side with his master as the two of them stared out at the water. I sat behind them and began to sketch them sitting there quietly. By the time I finished, I was actually impressed with the ability of the two of them who had sat so still while I drew them up, almost as if they knew they were being my muse. I was even more impressed with the way the drawing had come out, capturing the moment to a tee.
“Hey, whatchya doin’?” Drew asked as he walked out onto the beach, bending down to my level. His eyes widened as he looked at the picture and then up at the man and his dog, who were still sitting in the same position. “Becca, did you draw this?” he asked. I nodded and smiled. “This is awesome!”
“Thanks. I just drew it up really quick. I love witnessing moments that seep into my heart, they make the best pictures. And this one was one of them. I just had to draw it out.”
“Do you draw a lot?”
“I used to. I love sketching and working with charcoals, but my favorite is pastels. I never knew how many different colors were in a sunset. Unfortunately, I don’t have time to do it much with school.”
“Did you ever think of pursuing this as a career?”
I laughed. “Yeah, for about a minute. Until my dad lectured me and told me that no daughter of his was going to be a starving artist. So I kind of traded in my art stuff for law books.” I sighed deeply, wishing that I had had the courage to stand up to my dad and tell him what I really wanted to do with my life. “But every now and then, I sneak some in. It’s good for my soul.”
