“Aren’t they all?” River snickers.

Finn shakes his head. “Thank God we’re perfect. Let’s jam.”

I see Xavier and Taelyn behind the glass, watching us. They look fucking proud as hell, and they should be. As much as I wish I was doing what I love, I have recently been bitch-slapped with the answer to why I felt like I loved it.

It wasn’t love; it was doing as expected. And what I was expected to do by the people who said they loved me was whatever bettered them.

Fuck love.

I look up and see everyone staring at me.

“Ladies and gentlemen, put your motherfucking hands together for Billy Jeffers and his killer bass solo!” Memphis yells with his hands in the air.

“What the fuck was that?” Finn asks.

I have no idea what the hell I was playing.

Xavier walks in with a smile, shaking his head. “Billy the Kid, you just finger-fucked Moonlight Sonata on the bass at the beginning. Unbelievable.”

“Is that one of our songs?” River asks, and I can’t help smirking.

“Beethoven, ass-hat.” Xavier laughs.

Finn smirks. “Well, we’re not as refined as you blue bloods.”

“Yeah, I was thinking it was Flea from Red Hot Chili Peppers, slap bass,” Memphis starts.

“The popping, too. Definitely Flea,” Finn adds.

“I swear I heard some of Wynonna’s ‘Big Brown Beaver,’ the Spanish flair.” River chuckles.

“ ‘Big Brown Beaver.’ ” Memphis snickers, and I think of what Madison said.

She’s right; she didn’t have a fucking chance when it came to not having a gutter mind.

“Cliff Burton,” Taelyn adds. “I’m sure I heard some of his work.”

“Instrumental Orion.” Xavier nods. “Fucking amazing musician who died too young.”

“Lots of musician talk, but you’re totally missing the king of the bass. Black Dog’s riff, Ramble On, Dazed and Confused. John Paul Jones will always be king.”

“Second best rhythm section ever, JPJ and John Bonham.” River holds his fist up to Finn.

“That’s right.” Finn gives him a bump.

“You forgot Paul McCartney and the Ox,” Memphis adds.

“Geddy Lee, fucking phenomenal bass player,” Finn says, adjusting himself.

“You chubbing up, man?” Memphis asks.

“Almost.” Finn smirks.

“Okay, fuckers. Break for lunch so Finn can go take care of that shit,” Xavier sneers as he turns Taelyn toward the door.

“Three brothers, Xavier. I have three.” She giggles. “I have heard worse.”

“You sure as fuck don’t need to see it,” he hisses.

On my way out, I pass by Madison’s office. She’s still not here. I pull out my phone to see she still hasn’t responded, but she has read it.

Little brat.

I decide to leave because sitting next to the men and sharing a meal with them is not work. It’s a privilege, one I don’t feel entitled to right now.

I sit in the SUV and call the realtor I used when buying the apartment and have him list it.

He asks why I’m not happy, and I tell him it isn’t that; it’s just senseless to own something with as much travel as I do. He recommends leasing it, and I say no. The fucker keeps on going until I finally tell him that, if he can’t sell it, I will find someone else who can.

“I’m just trying to help you out,” he persists.

I hang up. It’s very unlike me, but I have no time to fuck around with this shit.

He calls back immediately, and I answer, knowing damn well he is going to list it—the man works on commission.

Then I sit in the vehicle and almost send another text to Madison yet decide against it. It would seem too desperate, but so would asking Memphis where she is.

I look in the passenger seat and see something red on the floor.

A scarf.

Perfect.

I walk into Tales and Madison’s office and hold it up. “Found this in my vehicle.”

“Toss it here,” Memphis says, coming up from under the desk.

“Jesus.” I turn around.

Tales giggles. “He was plugging in—”

“Don’t care,” I say quickly, not needing to hear the rest.

“This thing better have been in the front seat.” Memphis laughs as he grabs the scarf from me.

“Where is she today?” I ask.

“She had a meeting,” Tales answers.

She never mentioned a meeting.

Memphis looks at me oddly, and I decide it’s best to leave.

There isn’t much for me to do, so I decide to go back and practice for the next hour or so. Then I decide to pack it up for the day.

I grab my phone and look at it. Still nothing from Madison.

When I pull out of Steel, I dial her up, and she answers immediately.

“Hey there, Billy.” She has a smile in her voice, which would be cool if I weren’t so pissed off at her.

“Why the hell haven’t you answered my message?”

“Oh, well …” She giggles. “I think I like this Billy. Angry Billy. Billy with the spanking hand. Billy bad-ass.”

“Are you drunk?”

“I may have had a few drinks.” She giggles again.

“Where is this meeting?”

“The meeting was in South Bend, Indiana—wait … Are you stalking me?” She lets out another giggle.

“That shit’s not funny, Madison. Really, where are you?”

“I let myself into your place,” she slurs.

“Oh, is that so? You just—”

“Had a key made when you—wait … That’s probably gonna piss you off, right? Like I’m overstepping or—”

“Are you serious?”
She made a damn key?

“Well, yes, I am. I am Madison Black, and I approve this message.” She laughs hysterically.

“Where are you really? And if you lie to me, I’m telling your brother you’re drunk.”

“Cool.” She sounds a little more Madison-like, pissy. “Make sure you tell him I sucked your dick on the way out of town, aaaaaand that you spanked my ass.”

“I really hope no one can hear your smart, little mouth right now,” I snap.

“Unless you have someone hiding under your bed, we’re all set. And, Billy?”

“Madison?”

“I’m naked.”

“Is that so?” I ask, hitting the gas.

“Yep, naked as a jaybird, minus the feathers. I mean, if you’re into feathers, then we can certainly use them when you get here. By the way, when will you be here?”

I pull into my complex and look for her car. Now I know she is full of shit.

“You better not drive, Madison. You shouldn’t be drinking,” I say as I throw my vehicle in park. “Tell me where you are.”

She giggles and whispers. “Come and find me.” Then she hangs up.

Little brat.

I look in the mirror, expecting him to arrive anytime. I have sexy hair, all blown out like a porn star. My boobs are cupped in a dark green fishnet and silk corset with the matching thong. I throw on my fighting Irish short, silky robe and put the hood up.

Bad-ass.

Billy bad-ass.

Yum.

I walk out into the living room and wait for what seems like a long time, but it’s truly only a couple minutes before I hear the door unlock, and I hit the remote control for the stereo. “Victorious” by Panic! at the Disco plays throughout his place.

The door opens, and I take a sexy fight stance. Except, by his expression, I think he may not think it’s sexy.

He shuts the door behind him quickly and looks around.

I slowly pull the hood back and put a hand on my hip as I walk toward him, being as sexy as I can. Except, I’m still pretty sure he is angry. Oh, well. He will get over it.

I grab the glass of Jameson and walk it up to him.

“Welcome home.”

He takes the glass and sets it down without looking at me.

“I said—”

“I heard what you said. I thought we agreed we would be discreet.”

“I took a cab from the airport; that’s discreet, right?”

His hard eyes meet mine. “Why didn’t you tell me you wouldn’t be at work this morning?”

“I didn’t know until after I talked to you last night.” I take his hand and walk to the couch. Then I turn around and push him. He doesn’t fall onto the leather like I planned out in my head, so I ask him, “Will you sit down?”

“Where the hell were you?”

“Sit down, and I will tell you all about it.”

“Fine.” He sits down and pushes up his sleeves.

I shrug of the robe and straddle his lap. His eyes narrow, but he doesn’t look me up and down like I thought he would, either. His eyes look directly into mine.

“Hi,” I whisper.

“Hi.”

“I’m in a really good mood and extremely, enormously, hugely—”

“That’s a lot of adjectives, Madison. Could we get to the point?” He throws my sexy off.

I take his hand and hold it up, kissing his fingers, and then turn his hand palm up. I bring it down while lifting up slightly on my knees and putting his hand between my legs.

“Wet.”

His body tenses. “You’re drunk.”

“We have incredible drunk sex.” I lean in, kiss his neck, and whisper, “Tell me it’s not true.” I press into his hand. “So wet.” Then I close my eyes and say what I had planned. “This is liquor and desire mixed into a nice, sexy, near orgasmic sex cocktail.” I grip his wrist and grind into it harder, rolling my hips and moaning as I ride his hand.

“Billy, oh…oh… What the hell!” I gasp as he pulls his hand free and stands.

“We come together,” he says as my feet hit the ground.

“Perfect.” I lean in to kiss him, but he steps back.

“Where were you?” His eyes show concern, possessiveness? Yeah I think so, I’m going with that and I like it. A lot.

“I promise to tell you everything about my meeting after we are done getting naked and sweaty.”

He is glaring at me, nostrils flaring, clearly pissed off, but...he wants me.

“Turn around,” he growls.

Perfect,
I think.

He reaches around and pulls me back hard against him then slides his hands down my stomach slowly at first. His mouth is next to my ear, and I hear his harsh breaths against it, making me even hotter. He travels down to my panties and then slides his finger between my folds.

“Tell me what you want, what you want me to do to you,” he demands.

“That...definitely that,” I moan.

He slides his finger lightly up and down me. “This, Madison?”

“Yes,” I whimper.

His lips are against my neck, sliding softly back and forth, leaving goosebumps in their wake.

I reach behind me and grip his pants, pulling him closer as I push against him.

His free hand cups my face. “I will never be able to stay pissed at you. So fucking beautiful, Madison.”

“Kiss me,” I whimper as I lift my chin and angle back for him to kiss me.

“Turn around,” he says as his hand leaves my panties.

I do, and his lips immediately collide against mine. My hands instantly attack his buttons, unable to get them undone fast enough. I pull away from our kiss and look down so I can see what I’m doing.

When I glance back up, he is intensely looking at me.

“Dammit,” I grumble, running my hand under his shirt. My fingers almost reach orgasm as they touch each ripple of his tight abs. “Damn you and your hotness.”

I push his shirt up, and he reaches behind himself, pulls it over his head, and drops it. I rub my hands flat against his abs and back up. Then I lean in and bite his nipple. I peek up, and his eyebrow is raised.

“Sorry. You have the best nipples.”

He reaches behind me and unclasps the eyelets on the corset.

“That reminds me; I don’t think I have taken enough time with yours.”

I reach down and finally get him unbuttoned then shove his pants and boxers down. “Can you do it while this is inside me?” I grip his heavy cock and sigh. “It’s beautiful.”

His eyes narrow a bit, and I see a smirk play on his lips, so I squeeze a little more firmly, trying to connect my fingers around him.

“You are seriously huge, Billy.”

“Easy, sweet thing,” he hisses when I grip him tightly again.

“I’m trying to get my fingers to touch,” I whine.

“The harder I get, the less likely that is to happen.” He wraps his hand around mine and guides it up and down his thick length.

“I think I love your dick.”

“Is that so?”

“Yeah. We need to have a mold made of it and sell it at concerts.”
