I wanted to throw up while he was talking about it, but I didn’t dare stop him. My mind raced in a panic, thinking back to the day in my dorm when Dana had told me that she’d been with Ethan. She’d been very clear about the fact that he had taken advantage of her. But now, Ethan was saying something very different.

“Anyway, I told her I wasn’t interested, and we went our separate ways,” he continued. “That was when she really turned things on and started coming around unexpectedly; and started sending me some pretty interesting text messages. I told her that if she kept it up, I was going to go to the police and report her for harassment. She told me I had a lot more to lose than she did - and she was probably right - but she backed off nonetheless.” He smiled at me again, his eyes were as soft as possible. “That was the last I’d really heard of her, until you and I started seeing each other.”

“So… you two never had sex?” I asked.

There was a long, heavy, second while he chuckled. It was the longest second of my life. Every nerve in my body was on edge.

“No,” he said, shaking his head. “We never had sex.”

Relief flooded through me faster than I could have imagined. I’d been living this whole time thinking that they’d been together. Why had Dana lied to me about it? I was certain she had told me they slept together.

“Dana told me you lured her back to your place and seduced her,” I said, still trying to make sense of everything.

He reached out and took hold of my hand. His warmth covered me, and his soft touch was comforting. “I don’t think she’s quite the friend you think she is.”

I smiled, hesitantly. “What are you talking about?”

He shrugged. “She says she has your best interests in mind, but I’m not buying it. I think she’s just trying to keep us apart because she’s jealous.”

I shook my head. “She wouldn’t do that.”

“No?” he asked. “You remember how I said I went and spoke to her after we… after that stuff happened between us?”

I nodded. “I’m still not entirely happy about that,” I said.

He smiled, awkwardly. “She hit on me the whole time,” he said. “She said that I must be asking her on a date because I invited her out.”

“That doesn’t even make any sense,” I said. “Why would she do that? She doesn’t want to have anything to do with you.”

He shrugged. “I don’t know, but that’s what happened.

I thought about it for a bit longer. Things weren’t adding up in my head. Why would Dana be trying to keep us apart? I could understand if she though ti twas for my protection, but why go and see Ethan at all? I’d had a hard time when he told me that he’d seen her - but I’d never stopped to consider why she had agreed to see him.

Ethan must have seen the internal struggle I was going through. He squeezed my hand gently with his, and then wrapped the other around it, too. He looked at me long, and hard.

“You know, none of this really matters,” he said. “It really only boils down to one thing.”

I felt my hands trembling as he looked intensely at me.

“What’s that?” I asked.

“Kayla,” he began. “I love you. I’d do anything to have you back in my life.”

My heart raced harder in my chest. They were the words that every girl wanted to hear, but no man had ever said them to me. I never imagined it would happen like this, though. I had always imagined that my knight in shining armor would come and whisk me away like they did in the cartoons. But life isn’t a fairy tale, and love isn’t easy.

My lips moved silently as I struggled to say anything. What was I supposed to say?

Tell him how you feel
, a voice in my head urged.
Tell him the truth
.

It was then that I realized that my hands weren’t trembling at all.
Ethan’s
hands were shaking. In a startling moment of clarity, I realized that he was even more nervous than I was.

“I love you, too,” I said.

Then the most extraordinary thing happened. Ethan’s eyes welled up and a single tear fell down his cheek. It was the most humbling, and beautiful sight I think I’d ever experienced.

And it was because of me.

A weight lifted from my shoulders, then. The stress of the situation seemed to disappear in an instant and I knew that everything was going to be alright. Nothing else in the world mattered.

We sat there for a long minute, just looking into each other’s eyes. The rest of the world disappeared from sight. My brain told me there were things that needed figuring out. But my heart said they could wait.

“Want to get out of here?” I asked.

“Like you wouldn’t believe,” he said.

Chapter 16

Ethan and I crashed through his front door, our limbs tangled into one another. As we swept through the door, he hooked his arm around my waist and pulled me into him. In an instant, I leapt up onto him and wrapped my legs around his tight waist. Our lips locked as he carried me through the foyer and back to his bedroom. I hadn’t been in his house since
that
night, but everything still felt familiar.

My heart raced, and passion spread through my entire body. My pelvis dug down into his hips and I could feel his growing thickness tucked away there. I ground myself into it, and he groaned with pleasure. He tugged me even tighter against his body, and his soft lips kissed down along the nape of my neck. His tongue flitted out and dragged along my soft skin, and the wet traces it left sent shivers down my spine.

He lowered me to his bed, and climbed on top of me. My legs remained wide and inviting. There wasn’t going to be anymore playing hard to get - I had gone long enough without feeling his touch, and there was no way I could go any longer.

His hands groped along the rest of my body. They slid down over my breasts, cupping them gently. Ethan kissed down until I could feel the tip of his tongue sneaking beneath the hem of the low-cut shirt. It slid down under my bra and teased my nipple. Then he kissed even lower, his mouth gliding down to my belly button. His hands still ran all over my body, never stopping at one place for too long.

“I’ve missed having you here,” he said, his voice heavy.

“I have, too.”

His teeth nipped even lower, eventually coming down to my jeans. He tugged at the button with his mouth while he let his chin press down along the top of my sex. It sent shivers through my legs.

“Don’t tease me,” I said. “Not, tonight.”

“I want to enjoy every minute of you,” he said. “I don’t want to rush this.”

I squirmed beneath him. “Enjoy it later. I
need
you. Now.”

He growled at me, hungrily, and nipped at the button on my pants once more. His mouth came up and crashed into mine once again. He rubbed his huge manhood between my legs, and I squirmed. His hand reached down and yanked the button free; the zipper gave way quickly. His hand plunged beneath my panties, and found my soaking center. His finger delved quickly into my core, and a gasp of pleasure escaped me.

“You’re so tight,” he said.

I whined. “It’s been so long.”

“A lifetime,” he said.

He pleasured me with his finger for a while longer, then he reached around and tugged the pants free of my hips. In one smooth motion he had them off of me. He flung them somewhere behind him. Through the dim light, I could just make out the bulge in his pants, and the desire in his eyes. He towered over me, and I wanted him to make me his.

I looked at him, longingly. “What are you waiting for?” I asked.

His eyes trailed all over my body, saoking in every sight I had to offer. “I want to remember this moment,” he said.

“Why’s that?” I asked, softly displaying pringles.

A small grin touched the corner of his lips. “Because, it’s a new beginning - and I think this one is going to be even more special than the last.”

I bit my lip. “You better not make me wait long,” I said. “I don’t know how much more of this I can take.”

I ran my foot along his thigh and between his legs. His manhood twitched as I slid down along it. I felt the muscles in his legs tense when my foot dropped beneath his girth, and teased him some more.

“You won’t keep me waiting long, will you?” I asked in a light voice. He licked his lips as he continued to drink me in. Shots of ecstasy coursed through me; I needed to have him that very instant. “Get down here,” I demanded.

I spread my legs even wider for him, and he kept me waiting no longer. He tore at his jeans, pulling them down and releasing his enormity with one swift jerk. In a flash, he reached for the night stand and had a condom in his hand, and in another instant he rolled the thing on and was climbing on top of me.

“You’re playing with fire,” he said. His voice came in a deep breath, the heat of it pressing against my chest. His hands slid down to my hips as he positioned me just how he wanted. Then the enormity plunged into me. He didn’t ease it in gently, like the first time - he forced it all.

My womanhood was slick with sex, and more than ready to take all of him. But still, it had been a while since it had something to play with, and there was a sharp pierce of pleasure-filled pain that stung with each thrust. I felt heat spreading everywhere in an instant; the wetness grew more intense, as Ethan pumped harder and harder.

“Take off your shirt,” I said. Beads of perspiration were already glistening from the base of his neck, and there were few things as sexy as Ethan’s naked, sweaty body.

He smirked down at me. His hands ripped the shirt up and over his head in one motion. His well defined musculature hovered over me, then pressed down on top of me. His weight covered me in warmth, and I pulled him even tighter against my body. We both moved, and gyrated, in sync with one another.

Moans escaped my lips, and Ethan responded to them. His hips bucked even harder, and I felt the overwhelming sensation that there was something more going on between us. All of my reservations about Ethan melted there beneath him. As a tiny seed of warmth crept outward from my inner most sacred places, I knew that he was the man for me; I knew there would be no one else that could ever compare.

“I love you,” I whispered.

Ethan slowed his pace and leaned down toward me. Our lips met again, and a sensation of pleasure erupted through me. Our tongues slid across each other in gentle caress.

“I love you, too,” he said.

He made love to me all night, until light began to creep through the blinds in the room. We lay tangled, half asleep, in one another’s arms. The gentle, steady rise and fall of his chest soothed me into a deep sleep, without a single care in the world.

Chapter 17

The morning wound on, and once the sun shone bright through the drawn curtains of the master bedroom, the two lovers finally began to untangle themselves from one another. Ethan looked over at Kayla, her beautiful blue eyes searching deep into his. He tugged her even closer to his body as a small, dimpled smile spread across her face. He knew he was hopelessly in love with her, and he knew he had taken a very serious risk when he had told her as much. She could have rejected him; could have clung to the security that they could be nothing more than what they appeared to be - professor and student. He knew there was logic in that decision, but Ethan didn’t want to be comfortable; he didn’t want to be logical. There was another logic he followed even more closely - the logic of his heart. And his heart would have him profess his love for her to the whole world, if that’s what it would take to win her over.

Last night had been a big step in their relationship; it had been a key starting point that might allow them to really explore what they could become without the encumbrance of secrets, or lies. Ethan had promised to himself, and more importantly to her, that he would never keep another secret from her; and he knew that nothing would stop him from keeping that promise.

“You’re beautiful,” he said. Her eyes flashed a bit brighter.

“I’m sure I look like a disaster,” she said. Ethan doubted that could ever be true.

“I want to lay here with you all day,” he said. “Maybe tomorrow, too.”

“That sounds nice,” she said, curling herself even more tightly into his arms.

They laid in silence for a full minute. Ethan could feel the familiar swell between his legs as her warmth began to press upon him.

“Know what sounds even better, though?” he asked.

She bit her lip and let her hands slide down along his chest. “I think we could come up with
something
,” she said.

By the time her hands reached his crotch, his manhood was fully erect. She gripped it firmly and began tugging it as her lips came up to meet his own. The heat of her tongue dipped into his mouth and the two held each other tightly. Ethan moved to flip her over the same way he’d done the night before.

“Not this time,” she said. “This time I get to be in control.”

A fierce grin spread across Kayla’s face as she climbed on top of him. Her naked body hovered above him. She was the most beautiful thing he’d ever seen.

“Who’s the tease now?” he asked while his hands clamped around her tiny waist. He pushed her a bit, urging her to take him. But, her legs tensed and held her motionless.

“Pushy, pushy,” she teased. “I want to have some fun, too.”

She smiled a devious smile, but it didn’t last for long. He knew she couldn’t hold out like he had - he could feel the burning heat between his legs, and he knew that her desire would consume her quickly.

Her hips slid down, and his erection dipped into her wet vagina. She went slow at first, but eased the full weight of herself on top of him. Soon she was bucking her hips against him, pressing her full weight down onto his groin. She felt pure, like nothing he’d ever experienced. More importantly, though - she felt like home. Inside of her was where he was meant to be. He had passed the point of no return. But he wasn’t worried; he wasn’t afraid.

The two made love for the rest of the morning. Neither of them looked at the clock for many hours, not wanting to think about all of the things they were supposed to be doing. Nothing else was important.

But as the day stretched on they both grew wary. Ethan knew that reality would set in soon, and they would have to return to the real world. Obligations awaited them, and time marched on.
