“Are you okay?” He asks softly and leans up on one elbow.

“Hell yeah,” grinning at him, I lean forward so my face is only an inch from his. “I’m having the time of my life.”

Jacob

When she leans into me like that and I feel her breath against my lips my arms break out in goose bumps. And something rises, something that right now, should not be fucking rising.

And then her hand grips it over the sheet and the boxers. I remember every single second of the last time we fucked and shit it was amazing. Mind blowing. Explosive. Ridiculously good to the point where, now she’s touching me my entire body almost climaxes in anticipation
and memory alone.

“Marie,” I groan when she squeezes harder. “The shoot.” Or I’m gonna shoot.

Her eyes search my face as her lower lip disappears under her top teeth. “Yeah, yeah.” And the pressure from my cock is gone, leaving me feeling cold and needy.

“Wow, I can edit in a reaction, like your eyes for example. But shit, you look hot when your pupils are dilated for real.”

I smile at her words and shuffle around as dir
ected. The camera flashes to the point where all I can see are those little floating lights marring my vision. Ten minutes later it’s time for an outfit change and more makeup.

“How’s it going in there?” Maya asks me softly through the cubicle as I pull on the leather jacket and jeans with nothing else.

“It’s good, Marie’s a pro.”

“Huh.”

I sigh, “What now?”

“Nothing. Just checking up on one of my closest friends who I love dearly…” her voice trails off, she’s up to something. I don’t like it.

“Right.”

She starts whistling, it’s fucking irritating. I step out of the cubicle, cross my arms over my chest and stare at her expectantly. A large grin stretches her face and her eyes glitter with madness.

“You know Marie hasn’t screwed anybody since you,” what? “Oh yeah, Lucas told me. So now I’m telling you. You’ve got something good with her Jacob, explore it.”

“Maya, we fucked.”

“I bet you did, you big stud.”

I growl in frustration, “Marie has the three time rule… anyway, this isn’t the time to be discussing this.”

“She hasn’t fucked anyone since you Jacob. For Marie that’s almost like joining a convent.”

“Maya…”

“I’m just saying, don’t be an idiot.”

I head through to the salon and sit in front of Loryn, “Do your shit. Let’s get this over with.” I need to get out of here, I have a party to attend
and drink to… well drink.

Chapter Two

Tasers, Arguments and a Great Escape

Marie

Once the shoot is finished I head through to the salon where Jacob is dressed and Loryn is carefully removing the remnants of the makeup from his face. I have to admit, the girl has got skills. Serious skills where makeup is concerned. She used it on Jacob so it would only highlight his features yet not look like he had any makeup on. It’s safe to say she has been successful in this endeavor.

Like I said. Serious skill.

“Right,” I announce to the room full of people sharing smiles, conversation, excitement and champagne. Which happens to be about six hundred dollars a bottle, compliments of Maya and James, like they haven’t done enough already. “I’m going to go and edit these.” I wave the memory stick at them. “You guys have fun.” It’s not like me to skip out on a party but the sooner I get these done the sooner Loryn’s and my new life can begin. And I really need that to happen fast.

“You’re kidding?” Loryn asks with a quirked brow, clearly not believing I want to go home. “You’re leaving?”

“Please don’t leave,” Maya begs with her hands clasped beneath her chin, her full lips pouting in a way only she can get away with. “Please! Please! Please!”

“Yeah, don’t go,”
Summer also tries the pout but fails miserably and ends up looking like the wrong end of a duck. “I’ll do one of those rainbow shot things that you always try to make me do.” Tempting, I’ll get to see her choke and splutter for half an hour, that could be amusing and worth getting myself dolled up for. Keep going. “And I’ll stay out until you decide to leave!” Maya and I both snort, this has never happened before and it never will. She’s promised us this exact thing many times but after her forth, or at a push, fifth drink, she’s flat on her ass singing nursery rhymes while dancing with bears in La La land. “You don’t believe me? I will. I promise.” We both snort again. Her head falls and she grumbles, “I hate you guys.”

“All set,” Loryn says to Jacob after fluffing his hair once more. “Party time.”

“Please! Please! Please!” Maya starts again. “Please!”

I sigh and throw my hands in the air in defeat, “Fine. I’m putting this in the till Loryn.”

“Good idea.”

“Just one question,” I clear my throat and peek through the blinds at the sea of people shouting outside for Jacob. When they see the blind
s twitch they start screaming. “WE LOVE YOU JACOB!” As I turn I expect to see Jacob smiling smugly but he isn’t, the poor guy looks downright petrified. “How the fuck are we going to get out of here?”

Jacob

My thoughts exactly. How the hell are we going to get out of here? The fans ha
ve flocked around the back too, the back entrance they didn’t realize the shop had until my car disappeared down a side alley. Shit. I fucked myself over. I should have braved the storm and come in through the front so we could all escape through the back when finished.

“Dude, calm,” Marie slides up next to me as Maya types away on her phone. I nod but the tightness in my body doesn’t vanish. Don’t get me wrong, I love my job, I love my fans and all of the people that have supported me. I just hate this, not being able to even run to the corner shop for a bag of god damn marshmallows without getting crowded. “Calm.” I look down at her fingers on my chest, take her hand and bring it to my lips before placing it back on my chest. She looks at her hand and goes to remove it, I press it down with my own and wrap my fingers round her wrist.

I don’t want her to move her hand, it feels too good right where it is.

Her throat moves slightly when she swallows. “We good?”

“Yeah,” I exhale a deep breath and catch Lucas’ eyes over her shoulder. He shakes his head while a smile tugs at his lips. “We’ll figure this out.”

“Already done,” Maya sa
ys and waves her phone at us. “Cops are coming to keep everyone back and I have arranged for a few security guards to escort you out.” Thank fuck for that. “Sorry about this Jacob, I should have prepared.”

I frown at her apology that isn’
t needed, “Babe. It’s not your fault I have a crazy life.”

“Stop panicking, all this extra publicity is great,” James adds with a shrug. “Look at all the photos they’re taking of this place. Imagine all
of the magazines it will end up in. No offence Jacob.”

“None taken.” He’s right of course, this is the reason they asked me to do a shoot. If Marie’s photos are successful, which I have no doubt they will be… that could mean big things for her and Loryn. “It’s true.”

I smile reassuringly at Marie who still looks passive and uninterested like she always does. Nothing gets through that thick skin of hers. Nothing. Not even me and fuck if I haven’t tried. And I’ll keep trying.

Maya’s security team and the police show up only ten minutes later, by this point we’ve finished the bottles of champagne and are feeling a lot happier than we were ten minutes ago. It’s an exciting time and should be treated as such.

“Ready?” I ask the others as the nine security personnel surround us all.

“Good luck guys!” Loryn and Lucas laugh. They’re leaving when it’s a little bit safer, what with Lucas being in a wheelchair and all. Same goes for Sylvia, Amelia and Evelyn who Maya is currently smothering in kisses. I watch Sylvia hand Evelyn to Lucas, no doubt ready for when they have to wheel him out.

“Be good girls,” Maya says to Amelia and Evelyn before giving everyone kisses and hugs goodbye.

“Does my hair look okay?” Summer starts fretting to the others. I roll my eyes and pull open the door. Screams erupt, I put on my big boy pants and smile and wave. The police try to hold the public back, mostly young girls, but they fail after a short time. By this point Maya has me by my arm and is dragging me forward through the screaming crowd. Marie is on my other side with a Taser.

“You can’t use that!” I laugh although the idea is tempting.

“It’s keeping them away isn’t it?” Marie snorts and presses the button on it twice causing two girls to release their claws from my shirt and run screaming.

We finally make it to the car, I slide in
after Marie and lock it. Maya and James slide into the front, I’m relieved James is the one driving, I’ve got zero doubts that Maya wouldn’t mind plowing the people down.

“Christ, they’re like animals!” Maya gasps and fluffs up her waist length, dark brown hair.
“Seriously, that’s just insanity.”

“Yup,” Marie and I say at the same time. I smile at her, she winks mischievously before pressing the button twice on her Taser. “Do you think that I could stick my arm out of the window and Taser them as you drive?”

“Not unless you want to spend the night in jail.”

She huffs and throws the Taser on the ground like a spoilt child not getting the right toy for Christmas. Adorable.
And to prove the fact I think she’s adorable I grab her by the back of the neck, pull her shocked ass closer to me and press my lips to her temple before pulling her into my side.

Her breath stutters and her body remains tense for all of two seconds until finally she melts into me and I
gotta admit. It feels fucking perfect. “Adorable,” I mumble into her hair and chuckle when her sharp eyes cut to me. The scowl on her face only magnifies her beauty. “Beautiful.”

“You’ve had too much to drink,” she says as I bring her hand up to my chest.

“Babe…”

“Way too much to drink.” She looks at her fingers splayed on my chest, I look too and I tell her exactly what I’m thinking, “Like you there babe.”

“Yeah,” she whispers and closes her eyes for a second.

Marie

Jacob has always been, well, not shy
when it comes to touching me but this is beyond what is his norm. It’s so beyond what I’m used to I don’t have a fucking clue what to do with it, so I sit and listen to Maya and James arguing over something to do with work, while tucking myself deeper into Jacob’s side and for once not feeling uncomfortable receiving the affections of another.

“No, I never said that,” Maya’s voice breaks through my thoughts. “I’ve never said that! Why do you twist everything I say?”

“I’m not twisting it because you fucking said it and you know you did!” James shouts back, definitely angry. “You said it three days ago when we were putting Evelyn to bed.”

“You completely misheard me!”

“Nothing to mishear about you thinking another man is hot.”

Well he isn’t bad to look at.”

So you do think he’s hot?”

Maya rolls her eyes, “I’m not talking about this.”

“We’re always fucking talking about this, have been ever since you hired his bony ass.”

I look at Jacob and shrug, we remain silent.

“You’re so damn immature!” Maya growls and her hands slap her thighs. “I said I needed a new assistant.” Oh dear. “And Joseph is the best out of all of the ones I interviewed.”

“And you just get to decide this?”

“Well, um, yeah. It’s my fucking office and my fucking job.”

“Guys,” Jacob snaps and Maya turns to face us. “Stop arguing.”

“He started it,” she grumbles and turns back around.

“Then you unstart it,” I add and
tense when I feel Jacob’s hand trail up underneath my tank top.

“We’ll talk about this later,” James sneers at his wife, clearly not happy in the slightest.

“I don’t know if I’ll be available, you should call Joseph, my assistant, to book an appointment.” Maya spits back and I have to fight back a snigger.

James’ lips thin in irritation and his eyes narrow.

Jacob’s hand moves further up, his fingers slowly teasing the skin over my ribs. Shit that feels nice. “I don’t want you working with a man! A man you think is hot.”

“I think Jacob’s hot.”

“Yeah but we all know Jacob wants Marie. He’s not interested in you.”

Jacob tenses by my side
, I pat his thigh comfortingly. He relaxes. The argument continues.

“Joseph
doesn’t want me. He just wants to do his job.”

This is just getting irritating now. “Babe, have you seen you? He wants you.”
