27
 Only let your conversation be as it becometh the gospel of Christ: that whether I come and see you, or else be absent, I may hear of your affairs, that ye stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel;
28
and in nothing terrified by your adversaries: which is to them an evident token of perdition, but to you of salvation, and that of God.
29
 For unto you it is given in the behalf of Christ, not only to believe on him, but also to suffer for his sake;
30
having the same conflict which ye saw in me, and now hear
to be
in me.
2:
1
 If
there be
therefore any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any bowels and mercies,
2
fulfil ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love,
being
of one accord, of one mind.
3
Â
Let
nothing
be done
through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.
4
Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others.
5
Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:
6
who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:
7
but made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:
8
and being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.
9
Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:
10
that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of
things
in heaven, and
things
in earth, and
things
under the earth;
11
 and
that
every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ
is
Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
12
Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.
13
For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of
his
good pleasure.
14
Do all things without murmurings and disputings:
15
 that ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world;
16
holding forth the word of life; that I may rejoice in the day of Christ, that I have not run in vain, neither laboured in vain.
17
Yea, and if I be offered upon the sacrifice and service of your faith, I joy, and rejoice with you all.
18
For the same cause also do ye joy, and rejoice with me.
A Psalm
for Solomon.
1
Give the king thy judgments, O God, and thy righteousness unto the king's son.
2
He shall judge thy people with righteousness, and thy poor with judgment.
3
The mountains shall bring peace to the people, and the little hills, by righteousness.
4
He shall judge the poor of the people, he shall save the children of the needy, and shall break in pieces the oppressor.
5
They shall fear thee as long as the sun and moon endure, throughout all generations.
6
He shall come down like rain upon the mown grass: as showers
that
water the earth.
7
In his days shall the righteous flourish; and abundance of peace so long as the moon endureth.
8
He shall have dominion also from sea to sea, and from the river unto the ends of the earth.
9
They that dwell in the wilderness shall bow before him; and his enemies shall lick the dust.
10
The kings of Tarshish and of the isles shall bring presents: the kings of Sheba and Seba shall offer gifts.
11
Yea, all kings shall fall down before him: all nations shall serve him.
12
For he shall deliver the needy when he crieth; the poor also, and
him
that hath no helper.
13
He shall spare the poor and needy, and shall save the souls of the needy.
14
He shall redeem their soul from deceit and violence: and precious shall their blood be in his sight.
15
 And he shall live, and to him shall be given of the gold of Sheba: prayer also shall be made for him continually;
and
daily shall he be praised.
16
There shall be an handful of corn in the earth upon the top of the mountains; the fruit thereof shall shake like Lebanon: and
they
of the city shall flourish like grass of the earth.
17
His name shall endure for ever: his name shall be continued as long as the sun: and
men
shall be blessed in him: all nations shall call him blessed.
18
 Blessed
be
the L
ORD
God, the God of Israel, who only doeth wondrous things.
19
 And blessed
be
his glorious name for ever: and let the whole earth be filled
with
his glory; Amen, and Amen.
20
The prayers of David the son of Jesse are ended.
11
 If thou forbear to deliver
them that are
drawn unto death, and
those that are
ready to be slain;
12
If thou sayest, Behold, we knew it not; doth not he that pondereth the heart consider
it?
and he that keepeth thy soul, doth
not
he know
it?
and shall
not
he render to
every
man according to his works?

6
I have set watchmen upon thy walls, O Jerusalem,
which
shall never hold their peace day nor night: ye that make mention of the L
ORD
, keep not silence.
7
And give him no rest, till he establish, and till he make Jerusalem a praise in the earth.
8
 The L
ORD
hath sworn by his right hand, and by the arm of his strength, Surely I will no more give thy corn
to be
meat for thine enemies; and the sons of the stranger shall not drink thy wine, for the which thou hast laboured:
9
But they that have gathered it shall eat it and praise the L
ORD
; and they that have brought it together shall drink it in the courts of my holiness.
10
Go through, go through the gates; prepare ye the way of the people; cast up, cast up the highway; gather out the stones; lift up a standard for the people.
11
 Behold, the L
ORD
hath proclaimed unto the end of the world, Say ye to the daughter of Zion, Behold, thy salvation cometh; behold, his reward
is
with him, and his work before him.
12
And they shall call them, The holy people, The redeemed of the L
ORD
: and thou shalt be called, Sought out, A city not forsaken.
63:
1
 Who
is
this that cometh from Edom, with dyed garments from Bozrah? this
that is
glorious in his apparel, travelling in the greatness of his strength? I that speak in righteousness, mighty to save.
2
 Wherefore
art thou
red in thine apparel, and thy garments like him that treadeth in the winefat?
3
I have trodden the winepress alone; and of the people
there was
none with me: for I will tread them in mine anger, and trample them in my fury; and their blood shall be sprinkled upon my garments, and I will stain all my raiment.
4
 For the day of vengeance
is
in mine heart, and the year of my redeemed is come.
5
 And I looked, and
there was
none to help; and I wondered that
there was
none to uphold: therefore mine own arm brought salvation unto me; and my fury, it upheld me.
6
And I will tread down the people in mine anger, and make them drunk in my fury, and I will bring down their strength to the earth.
7
I will mention the lovingkindnesses of the L
ORD
,
and
the praises of the L
ORD
, according to all that the L
ORD
hath bestowed on us, and the great goodness toward the house of Israel, which he hath bestowed on them according to his mercies, and according to the multitude of his lovingkindnesses.
8
 For he said, Surely they
are
my people, children
that
will not lie: so he was their Saviour.
9
In all their affliction he was afflicted, and the angel of his presence saved them: in his love and in his pity he redeemed them; and he bare them, and carried them all the days of old.
10
But they rebelled, and vexed his holy Spirit: therefore he was turned to be their enemy,
and
he fought against them.
11
Then he remembered the days of old, Moses,
and
his people,
saying,
Where
is
he that brought them up out of the sea with the shepherd of his flock? where
is
he that put his holy Spirit within him?
12
 That led
them
by the right hand of Moses with his glorious arm, dividing the water before them, to make himself an everlasting name?
13
That led them through the deep, as an horse in the wilderness,
that
they should not stumble?
14
As a beast goeth down into the valley, the Spirit of the L
ORD
caused him to rest: so didst thou lead thy people, to make thyself a glorious name.
15
Look down from heaven, and behold from the habitation of thy holiness and of thy glory: where
is
thy zeal and thy strength, the sounding of thy bowels and of thy mercies toward me? are they restrained?
16
 Doubtless thou
art
our father, though Abraham be ignorant of us, and Israel acknowledge us not: thou, O L
ORD
,
art
our father, our redeemer; thy name
is
from everlasting.
17
 O L
ORD
, why hast thou made us to err from thy ways,
and
hardened our heart from thy fear? Return for thy servants' sake, the tribes of thine inheritance.
18
The people of thy holiness have possessed
it
but a little while: our adversaries have trodden down thy sanctuary.
19
 We are
thine:
thou never barest rule over them; they were not called by thy name.
64:
1
Oh that thou wouldest rend the heavens, that thou wouldest come down, that the mountains might flow down at thy presence.
2
 As
when
the melting fire burneth, the fire causeth the waters to boil, to make thy name known to thine adversaries,
that
the nations may tremble at thy presence!
3
 When thou didst terrible things
which
we looked not for, thou camest down, the mountains flowed down at thy presence.
4
For since the beginning of the world
men
have not heard, nor perceived by the ear, neither hath the eye seen, O God, beside thee,
what
he hath prepared for him that waiteth for him.
5
Thou meetest him that rejoiceth and worketh righteousness,
those that
remember thee in thy ways: behold, thou art wroth; for we have sinned: in those is continuance, and we shall be saved.
6
But we are all as an unclean
thing,
and all our righteousnesses
are
as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.
7
 And
there is
none that calleth upon thy name, that stirreth up himself to take hold of thee: for thou hast hid thy face from us, and hast consumed us, because of our iniquities.
8
 But now, O L
ORD
, thou
art
our father; we
are
the clay, and thou our potter; and we all
are
the work of thy hand.
9
Be not wroth very sore, O L
ORD
, neither remember iniquity for ever: behold, see, we beseech thee, we
are
all thy people.
10
Thy holy cities are a wilderness, Zion is a wilderness, Jerusalem a desolation.
11
Our holy and our beautiful house, where our fathers praised thee, is burned up with fire: and all our pleasant things are laid waste.
12
Wilt thou refrain thyself for these
things,
O L
ORD
? wilt thou hold thy peace, and afflict us very sore?
65:
1
 I am sought of
them that
asked not
for me;
I am found of
them that
sought me not: I said, Behold me, behold me, unto a nation
that
was not called by my name.
2
I have spread out my hands all the day unto a rebellious people, which walketh in a way
that was
not good, after their own thoughts;
3
 A people that provoketh me to anger continually to my face; that sacrificeth in gardens, and burneth incense upon altars of brick;
4
Which remain among the graves, and lodge in the monuments, which eat swine's flesh, and broth of abominable
things is in
their vessels;
5
Which say, Stand by thyself, come not near to me; for I am holier than thou. These
are
a smoke in my nose, a fire that burneth all the day.
6
 Behold,
it is
written before me: I will not keep silence, but will recompense, even recompense into their bosom,
7
Your iniquities, and the iniquities of your fathers together, saith the L
ORD
, which have burned incense upon the mountains, and blasphemed me upon the hills: therefore will I measure their former work into their bosom.
8
 Thus saith the L
ORD
, As the new wine is found in the cluster, and
one
saith, Destroy it not; for a blessing
is
in it: so will I do for my servants' sakes, that I may not destroy them all.
9
And I will bring forth a seed out of Jacob, and out of Judah an inheritor of my mountains: and mine elect shall inherit it, and my servants shall dwell there.
10
And Sharon shall be a fold of flocks, and the valley of Achor a place for the herds to lie down in, for my people that have sought me.
11
 But ye
are
they that forsake the L
ORD
, that forget my holy mountain, that prepare a table for that troop, and that furnish the drink offering unto that number.
12
Therefore will I number you to the sword, and ye shall all bow down to the slaughter: because when I called, ye did not answer; when I spake, ye did not hear; but did evil before mine eyes, and did choose
that
wherein I delighted not.
13
Therefore thus saith the Lord G
OD
, Behold, my servants shall eat, but ye shall be hungry: behold, my servants shall drink, but ye shall be thirsty: behold, my servants shall rejoice, but ye shall be ashamed:
14
Behold, my servants shall sing for joy of heart, but ye shall cry for sorrow of heart, and shall howl for vexation of spirit.
15
And ye shall leave your name for a curse unto my chosen: for the Lord G
OD
shall slay thee, and call his servants by another name:
16
That he who blesseth himself in the earth shall bless himself in the God of truth; and he that sweareth in the earth shall swear by the God of truth; because the former troubles are forgotten, and because they are hid from mine eyes.
17
For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth: and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind.
18
But be ye glad and rejoice for ever
in that
which I create: for, behold, I create Jerusalem a rejoicing, and her people a joy.
19
And I will rejoice in Jerusalem, and joy in my people: and the voice of weeping shall be no more heard in her, nor the voice of crying.
20
There shall be no more thence an infant of days, nor an old man that hath not filled his days: for the child shall die an hundred years old; but the sinner
being
an hundred years old shall be accursed.
21
And they shall build houses, and inhabit
them;
and they shall plant vineyards, and eat the fruit of them.
22
They shall not build, and another inhabit; they shall not plant, and another eat: for as the days of a tree
are
the days of my people, and mine elect shall long enjoy the work of their hands.
23
They shall not labour in vain, nor bring forth for trouble; for they
are
the seed of the blessed of the L
ORD
, and their offspring with them.
24
And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear.
25
The wolf and the lamb shall feed together, and the lion shall eat straw like the bullock: and dust
shall be
the serpent's meat. They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain, saith the L
ORD
.
