Chapter Fourteen

Mark

Oh, God, what had Gavin just said?  Was it possible that Mark had heard what he'd thought he'd heard?  Was it just wishful thinking?  But no, those three words had been very clear, and so had the desperation in Gavin's handsome, boyish face and in his sweet, angel's voice.

Everyone else had heard it, too.  Mark looked around, seeing that he wasn't the only one shocked by what had come out of Gavin's mouth.  Star Crossed was already out there, playing with Gavin, but everyone in Crossroads was staring, asking Mark for answers that he just didn't have.

Did sweet, innocent Gavin really mean what he'd said?  Had he really fallen in love with Mark, as jaded as he was?

The fact was, Mark had almost used the same words.  Right when he'd been insisting that Gavin was his boyfriend.  The world had gone completely insane.  How had he gone from hating this young man, being jealous of him, to being in love with him?

“You're going to break his heart.”

Mark recognized his big brother's voice, and he sighed softly.  He stood backstage, watching Gavin perform.  The young man seemed a bit distracted.  For the first time, he didn’t seem to be completely on, completely lost in the performance.  Mark could understand why.

“I'm not in the mood to be lectured right now, Liam,” he growled, not even turning to look at him.  His eyes were locked on Gavin, wondering how on earth anyone could be so very gorgeous and talented.  It really wasn't fair.

“He means what he said.  Or he thinks he does.  I'm not sure which.  You've completely charmed him.”  Liam's voice was thoughtful.  “So what are you going to do about it?  Screw him and leave him, like you do with everyone?”

Mark sighed, shaking his head.

“Not everyone has a devoted wife and children at home,” Mark said roughly. “Not everyone wants that.”  It was an argument that they'd been over before, a million times.  This time, for the first time, Mark found himself wondering what it would be like to be devoted to someone the way Liam was to his family.

What it would be like to maybe even marry someone.  Gavin.  No one else had even gotten him to think that way before, so of course, it could only be Gavin.

Seconds later, he shook his head.  It wasn't his style, and anyway, even if it were, it was far, far too soon to think about that.  They still weren't even officially together.  Yet.

“So you are going to do it, then.  You're going to selfishly screw up our whole tour, fuck Gavin, and break his heart.  Star Crossed will probably pull out halfway through.  Damn it, Mark, you have to stop acting like this.”

Mark sighed.  This wasn't the first time he'd gotten this pep talk.  Normally, it went in one ear and out the other.  With his eyes on Gavin, though, it was harder to ignore what his brother was trying to tell him.

“I don't want to hurt him.  Not anymore.”  It was almost a surprise to hear the words come out of his own mouth, but they were true.  So very true.  He was still jealous, at least a little, but things had changed.

“Then don't,” Liam said firmly.  “He doesn't deserve it.  You'd better stop this right now if you're going to hurt him, little brother.”

Mark laughed softly, almost bitterly.  He would have asked just why Liam cared so much.  From someone else, he probably would have assumed it was because Liam was interested in Gavin himself.  But he knew better.  He didn't need to ask.  Liam wanted to take care of everyone.

Including Mark.  When Mark finally pulled his gaze away from Gavin, when he looked at Liam, he saw that his brother was just as worried about him as he was about Gavin.  Maybe he should be.  Sex was something Mark was no stranger to, but relationships, that was a different story.

“I'm not stopping anything,” Mark growled, his gaze swinging back to Gavin, rocking out on the stage.  He was going to find out if Gavin had meant what he'd said.  If so, he wasn't letting this go.  He hadn't been looking for it, but this could be the best thing that had ever happened to him.

Liam smirked a little.

“It's time to go out for your duet with Gavin,” he said, and Mark was pushed right out onto the stage.

* * *

The crowd went absolutely wild the moment Mark stepped out.  When he joined Gavin, the cheers were deafening.  Yes, Steve had certainly been right.  There was something about seeing the two of them together that drove people insane.

“Ladies and Gentlemen, Mr Mark Tisdale,” Gavin said, and those dark eyes looked right into Mark's, then shied away.  They both knew what had been said, and that it couldn't be unsaid.  Mark wanted to reassure him, right then and there, that he wouldn't change anything about this for anything, but they were in front of the world.

So they went into their first duet, the first major hit off of the first, and only, Star Crossed album.  The first, but, Mark was convinced, not the last.

Don't Give Up
, the song was called, and it was sweet and romantic and gorgeous.  Like Gavin, actually.  Mark's rough voice gave it an edge that the ballad wouldn't have had otherwise.

At some point, Gavin's eye caught Mark's, and then neither of them could look away.  Both holding their microphones, eyes locked, the two men sang the romantic song right to each other.

It was the most romantic moment of Mark's life.  It was funny to think that, because he was up on stage, in front of the world, but it was true.  One led into the other, just as romantic.

In a moment, it was over.  The guys from Crossroads had replaced Star Crossed, and Gavin, having sung duets with Mark, was gone.  He took Mark's heart with him when he left, the adorable, talented, sexy young man whom Mark had tried so hard to hate.

The rest of the night passed in a blur.  The whole time that Mark was performing, he was repeating the same sentence, over and over again, just to himself, in the depths of his own brain.

Please don't let him leave before I'm done.  Please don't let him leave.

Couldn't he?  Wasn't it very possible that he would run away so that he didn't have to talk to Mark about what had been said?  Of course it was.  Honestly, it was the sort of thing that Mark could easily see happening.

Finally, he wished the audience a very good night, and then he was, at long last, free.  Even if Gavin had left, he decided, he would go find him.  He needed to know if what the other man had said was true, or if it had just been the heat of the moment.

Whether Gavin was there or not, Mark was determined he would find him.  He would have it out with him tonight, even if he had to track him down.

But he didn't have to.  Gavin was there, and from where he was standing, just off the stage, Mark had the idea that Gavin had been watching him this whole time.

The younger man was looking at him, his expression almost defiant.  Mark shook his head, finding that funny.  Gavin didn't know how Mark was going to react, that was clear, and he was braced for anything.

So Mark did the only thing that he could do.  The only thing that made any sense at all.  He wrapped an arm around Gavin's slender waist and pulled him close, then kissed him.  It was a different kind of kiss.  Yes, there was lust there.  There always would be, with them.  But there was also a sort of promise, one that Mark had never given to anyone before.

“Mark,” Gavin panted as their lips parted.  Mark gazed down at him, and nothing else mattered in the world right then other than the man in his arms.

So he opened his mouth and said it.  The words that he hadn't said to anyone, outside of his family.  Those words came out far more easily than he would have expected.

“I love you too, Gavin,” Mark murmured, his voice lower than usual, deepened with emotion.  “I fucking love you.”

Maybe it wasn't a good idea.  There was still very real jealousy, after all.  Maybe it would get better, maybe it wouldn't.  It would probably be better to wait before declaring himself, just to see.

It didn't matter.  He was in love.  For the first time in his life, he was in love, and with someone that was just as kinky as he was.  Just as into the same things, even if Gavin still had a lot to discover.

Really, this was just too perfect for him to give up on.  He'd been scared of letting himself fall in love for too long.  Well, it had happened anyway, and he wasn't able, he found, to turn his back on it.

Pulling him close, he kissed him again.  This time, Gavin was less surprised, and he wrapped his arms around Mark and kissed him back with everything in him.  Their lips parted, their tongues dancing sweetly together, bodies hot and urgent as they pressed against each other.

“Get a room,” someone said.  Mark thought it was probably Drake.  Regardless of the source, Mark had to admit that it wasn't a horrible plan.  He had quite the urge to be alone with Gavin right then, it had to be said.

“Great idea,” Mark shouted back, fairly shamelessly.  He saw that Gavin wasn't nearly as sanguine, and wrapped a protective arm around his waist, hugging him close against him.  This was all so new to the poor man.

So strange to want to take care of someone that he'd been trying to humiliate just a short time ago.  Things had changed so much, but Mark thought it was for the better.

“Well, what do you say, baby?”  Mark murmured the words right in Gavin's ear, deliberately letting them be seductive.  He knew that he could make Gavin hard so easily, and he took shameless advantage of that.  “Do you want to come back to my hotel room with me?”

Gavin hesitated, and Mark looked at him curiously.  He'd been pretty sure that Gavin would go for that.

“Isn't there going to be a party in your suite?” Gavin asked, and Mark's eyes widened.  He hadn't thought of that.  For once, the tradition of the post concert party hadn't entered into his mind at all.

“Right.  You're right,” he realized.  But he didn't want to go to a party, and he hoped that Gavin didn't want to, either.

Gavin didn't make him wait to find out.  The younger man smirked, looking so beautiful that a pang of emotion, and arousal, shot through him.  Strange how the love he was feeling made the arousal even better.

“So,” Gavin murmured, his arm slipping right around Mark's waist, so they were holding each other close.  Nothing else in the world mattered, not the staring of their bands, or the sly smirks they were getting.  Only Gavin mattered.  “Maybe you should come back to my hotel room instead, darlin'.”

Just like that, Mark was ready to go.  Fully hard, his cock pressing against the smooth, tight leather of his pants.  All Gavin had to do was drawl at him in that damn South Carolinian accent, and he was ready for him.

“That sounds like a hell of a plan,” Mark said, and he knew his voice showed just how much he wanted Gavin.  That was just fine.  That night, he intended to show him, too.

Chapter Fifteen

Gavin

Things had changed.  He never would have thought that he'd be inviting a man back to his hotel room with him.  He'd definitely never thought that the man in question would be Mark, who was so far out of his league and who had hated him.

All of those things were happening, though.  Gavin was nervous as he walked beside Mark into the elevator, wondering if all the people around would know somehow.  Surely he wore it on his face.  Surely anyone who looked at him could tell that he was in love with another man.

He gave a sigh of relief as the elevator door shut behind him, cutting him off from all of those suspicious eyes.  Or was that just his imagination?  Either way, he found himself slumping against the side of the elevator, against the mirrored wall, trembling a little.

“What's wrong, babe?” Mark said, in that impossibly sexy voice of his.  Despite his fear, Gavin felt a jolt of arousal go through him.  He'd never wanted anyone like this.  It was just insane.

Gavin sighed softly.  He wasn't even sure how to explain this to him, but he did his best.

“They might have known that we're together,” he said awkwardly.  “By looking.  I'm pretty sure it shows when I look at you.”

Mark grinned, and to Gavin's delight, he came over to kiss him, his strong, large body pressed close against him.

“You called us 'together',” Mark said, and Gavin smiled.  Yes.  Yes he had.  It had just sort of slipped out.  Somehow, in that moment, that seemed more important than the worry that Gavin had had about people seeing them.  Both of them forgot it.

“Yeah.  I guess I did,” Gavin said, unable to stop grinning.  “But you started it, calling me your boyfriend before.”

The elevator door opened, and without thinking about it, Gavin pulled away from Mark.  They were out in public once more.  Mark frowned, clearly a bit surprised and probably hurt, but what else could Gavin do?

Quietly, they made their way to Gavin's hotel room.  Mark pressed tightly against Gavin from behind as the younger man opened the door, and Gavin shuddered as he felt how hot and thick he was against his ass.

“You're so hard,” he whispered, and Mark gave a slightly sinister, but very sexy, chuckle.

“Hard for you,” he murmured back, making Gavin shiver.  It seemed to take him forever to open the door, but the moment they were in, they were all over each other, kissing, touching, clothing already coming off.

It was irresistible.  It was frightening, too, how completely perfect it was.  It was like being caught up in a tornado, impossible to keep himself from being utterly swept away by how much need,  how much desire, he had for this man.

His hands were up under Mark's shirt, easing it off of the older man's body.  And Mark's hands were just as eager, just as desperate, on the buckle of Gavin's belt, clothing flying everywhere as the two men kissed over and over, hot, hard bodies pressing tightly together.

Gavin thrust his tongue hotly into Mark's mouth, finally freeing the older man's thick cock and wrapping his hands around it.  He had no patience, none at all.  Not when it came to Mark.

He could tell he was surprising Mark a little, and he pulled back to look into those gray eyes, his hand still cupping his thick, hard cock.  Strange how just a short time ago, he'd never even touched another man, and now he was doing it without even thinking.

“You're confusing,” Mark said, and Gavin winced to see the plaintive look in his eyes.  “You don't want anything to do with me one second, and the next, you're all over me.”

Gavin frowned.  It was hard for him to even explain to Mark what was going on.  Thinking on it, he could even see how it was confusing, but it was just something that was so normal to him.  It was like trying to explain why people needed to breathe.

“Where I come from, men don't just touch other men in public,” he said.  It came out a little pathetically, and he could see Mark didn't really understand, but how else could he put it?  “Maybe people do it, but it's secret.”

Mark frowned.

“So you're ashamed of me,” he said, and Gavin shook his head frantically.  No, that wasn't it at all!  But Mark continued on.  “I've been used by a lot of people, Gavin, but this is the first time I've felt this dirty about it.”

Gavin blinked back tears.  Where he came from, men didn't tend to let themselves cry, either, but he was pretty tempted to make an exception.  Mark pulled away from him, he felt the hardness of his cock leave his hand, and he shook his head.

No.  No, he wasn't going to let this happen.  Yes, he was worried about what would happen back home if people knew about this.  But if he lost Mark because of this, how could he live with that?  There was just no way he could.

“Mark, no.  I love you, remember?”  Mark went to sit on the bed, and Gavin immediately, without hesitation, settled down into his lap and wrapped his arms around him.  “I'm not using you.  I love you way too much for that.”

Mark's body had started off stiff and tight and resentful, but as Gavin kept whispering to him, he felt the older man's body slowly relax.  Gavin was starting to learn that, under Mark's swagger, he was really sort of insecure and needed lots of reassuring.  Well, that was fine. Gavin could do that.

“I love you, too,” Mark murmured, and then his lips found Gavin's once more.  Gavin kissed him back reassuringly, but gradually, as the kiss got more intense, Gavin realized that Mark was going to want to be reassured another way.

Which was just fine with him.  In fact, there was something that he wanted to try, something that he'd been thinking about quite a lot, actually.  A favor that Mark had done for him that Gavin wanted to return.

Gently, taking advantage of his position on top of Mark, he pushed the older man's broad shoulders until they met the mattress.  He gazed up at him, wanting to warn him that he'd never done this before.  He might not be good at it.  It was all stuff that he'd said to Mark before, though.

So he just went for it.  Slipping down, he settled between Mark's long legs.  Lightly, carefully, he let his tongue stretch out and caress the older man's cock head.  He let himself taste his precome, salty and sweet at the same time, let his tongue rub over the thickness.

Mark cried out, and Gavin felt his hand clutching at his short hair.  He glanced up and saw how Mark's face was contorted with frustrated pleasure, and he smirked a little.  He hadn't meant to tease him, just get his bearings, but apparently that was just what he'd done.

“Gavin, fuck,” Mark growled, his voice even lower and raspier than usual.  His hand was trembling on the back of Gavin's head, and he had the idea that Mark was just barely holding himself back from gripping his hair and thrusting deep into his mouth.

That was hot.  Deeply, deeply arousing, knowing that he could do this to this man who had honestly hated him until very recently.  He parted his lips, having some mercy, and started to suck on the thick head.

Nothing had ever tasted this good.  Nothing had ever been this satisfying.  Gavin parted his lips, taking more of that thick cock between them.  Mark was so huge, Gavin had to stretch himself around him, but even that made his body throb and hum with desire.

At first, he'd just been curious.  Now he just desperately needed this, and he found himself eagerly bobbing his head on that huge dick, taking it somehow deep into his mouth, even to the back of his throat.

“Fuck, Gavin.  Fuck, I need you,” Mark panted, while Gavin looked up at him with huge dark eyes.  “I need you inside me.”

A surge of arousal, mixed with some very real nerves, went through Gavin.  He gasped around the dick that filled his mouth, looking at him, a little frightened.  Was Mark asking him to do what it seemed like he was?

Mark seemed to see Gavin's nerves, and he gave a bit of a smile, compassion in his eyes.

“Just use your fingers,” he urged, and Gavin groaned softly.  He was curious.  He did want to know what it would be like.  And he could tell Mark would like it so much.

Carefully, he ran his fingers over that thick cock, those heavy, swollen balls.  He shifted down lower, finding the tight, puckered little hole nestled between the perfect round globes of his sexy ass.

“That's it, baby, inside me,” Mark whispered, while Gavin kept sucking that perfect cock deep.  But he also started to apply pressure, pushing his finger against the tight ring of muscle.

At first, it seemed like his finger wouldn't go in.  Mark was too tight, it would never … and then it did.  Gavin's finger sunk in, and he gasped softly at the sensation.

So tight, so hot.  What would that ass feel like around his leaking, aching cock?  What would it be like to fuck Mark?  And, from there, it was only a short trip over to the territory that was even more forbidden.

What would it be like to have Mark fuck him?

The thought made him suck that cock deeper, harder.  He pushed his finger inside him, and now, Mark's ass seemed to be actually drawing him deeper in, like he wanted more.  Curious, Gavin explored inside him, and then he found an area that felt a little different than the rest of his ass.

When he rubbed against it curiously, Mark gasped and his cock twitched in his mouth.

“Fuck, do it again, Gavin, baby,” Mark gasped, and then added, “Add another finger, I need more.”

It really was nice to be with someone that knew what they wanted.  Gavin pushed another finger inside his tight ass, and this time, he went straight for the spot that had driven Mark so crazy for him.  He rubbed against it with both fingers, reveling in the way it made Mark gasp and moan and reach down to cling to Gavin's head.

What did this feel like?   From Mark's reaction, pretty good, and Gavin found himself less scared than he would have thought.  He wanted this for himself.  He wanted to know what it felt like to have Mark's fingers inside him.

It must feel pretty damn amazing.  It took only a few more seconds of that stimulation before Mark was crying out and coming, pumping his cock desperately between Gavin's full lips.  He tasted good.  Strange, of course, unfamiliar, but so good, and Gavin swallowed it down without hesitation.

He pulled away and smiled at Mark, who kissed him thoroughly, still glowing from his intense release.

“Someday I'm going to get that cock of yours inside me,” Mark growled.  Looking into his gray eyes, Gavin somehow believed him.  Not only that, but he wanted it.  He was desperate.  He'd never really thought that he would want to fuck another guy, he hadn't let himself think about it.

“I hope so, darlin',” he whispered, and meant it.  As if that wasn't hard enough to take, he didn't just want to fuck Mark.  He also wanted that huge cock which had filled his mouth so perfectly deep inside his own ass, too.
