Raquel is our little flower girl. She is so adorable in her fluffy white tulle dress; red roses made into a circle, crown the top of her head. She skips down the red carpet and tosses white rose petals from her basket onto the ground. Behind her is Harmony, dressed in a red satin, strapless gown. She is glowing and is beautiful. Standing next to Wayne is Slim. Slim nudges Wayne, saying something to him that I can’t hear, and chuckles. Wayne is oblivious to whatever Slim says and keeps his focus on me.
Walking down the red carpet, I glance a little to my left and then my right. In such a short amount of time, I see all of our close friends who have become my family.
This is what family looks like, huh
? I feel so fucking sappy it’s horrifying, but I can’t help it. I am so happy. For the first time in my entire life I see hope and a future. I see myself being a mother, a wife and successful music artist.
As I stop at the end of the altar, Michael kisses me on the cheek and hands me over to Wayne. Harmony takes the stunning red and white rose bouquet from my hands. I turn to Wayne and give him both my hands. No shaking. No nerves. Nothing. I am floating on a cloud, happy.
Wayne leans into my ear. “You look mighty edible right now, Sweetness. So intoxicatingly breathtaking.”
I blush from his compliment, then lean into his ear and say, “So do you, Sexy.”
A good friend of Sheri and Michael’s is an ordained minister and accepted an offer to help with our wedding vows. Neither I nor Wayne are very religious people, so having a friend of the family help us out was perfect.
As we recite our vows, I try so hard not to cry, but I can’t help it. The tears have a mind of their own, and come trickling down my cheeks. Wayne is a little emotional too, swiping away my tear drop. He kisses the back of my hand after sliding on the most gorgeous ring I have ever seen.
It’s ginormous
! A two carat, princess cut diamond ring that fits onto my finger like a glove. Damn, this man has good taste! I’ll never take this sucker off. Once the ring is on, he says his final vow, “I do.” Next, I slip his white gold ring onto his finger and say my final vow, “I do.” And without further ado we are presented as husband and wife -
Mr. and Mrs. Priest
. Wayne is allowed to kiss his bride - me! He bends me backward and seductively devours my mouth, biting my bottom lip; we entangle our tongues, relishing the most amazing day of our lives. We forget we have an audience. Everyone is on their feet, whistling, and clapping.
Wayne brings me back up and shouts out, “Wooo! Hell yeah! I got me the most most sexiest wife ever! Time to party!”
I laugh as we begin walking down the red carpet, inside the house. “You are too much, Sexy.” He swings me to his front, nuzzling his lips under my ear, kissing me. “Not for you Mrs. Priest - fucking hell, that sounds so awesome coming from my mouth,” he chuckles.
I smile. “To be honest, it sounds pretty amazing hearing you say it.”
He places his forehead onto mine, keeping his grip around my waist and says, “Fucking love you, Baby.”
I cup his face, loving this moment right here. “Right back at ya, Rocker Boy.” We kiss in the middle of the living room, not a care in the world while everyone is walking around us, taking pictures.
For once in my life, I am blissfully happy. I can’t wait to see what the future holds for us.
