What the?
She catches me off guard. I stutter, “Y- you serious? You’re not saying this just to make me happy are you? Cuz, I want you to be absolutely sure you’re in this for you too.”

She bends down and lays a kiss on my lips. “I am one hundred percent positive,” she smiles, biting her bottom lip. “It’s what I want.”

It takes me a few seconds to process this unexpected news. “Can’t believe it,” I chuckle. I bring her back down onto my lips and kiss the hell out of her. “Made me the happiest fucker on earth.” We continue making out until my dick twitches. She giggles and begins rubbing her pussy against my protruding muscle. Holy hell, she literally has me pussy whipped. Can’t take it anymore. I need to be deep inside her body right now. Don’t fucking care about this cast, nothing stands in the way of me fucking my future wife. Thank fuck she agreed, because she rode me until I was seeing black.
Epic.

“What changed your mind?” I ask, after coming down from our high. She is snuggled by my side, lightly rubbing my chest.

“Honestly?”

“Wouldn’t have it any other way.”

“Someone very wise recently told me marriage doesn’t end things. Instead it’s the start to an extraordinary forever.”
Shit, I want to hug that wise person.
She then props herself up onto her forearm, facing me. “I want to be in that
extraordinary forever
with you, for the long haul, till death do us part. I’m in this until the day I am no longer alive. So why not get married? As long as we’re together, marriage is just the icing on the cake. I promised you I wasn’t going to run anymore, and putting a ring on my finger will show you I’m for real. I will take this commitment as seriously as my career. I will not, for anything, break that commitment. I won’t be afraid anymore to go for what I want. You’re what I want.
Forever.

I slam our lips together, relishing her taste, her words, her acceptance, her recognition. The most unbelievable moment of my life. “Fucking love you.” We take a moment to let everything settle in. Our silence is golden. It’s safe, warm and holds sacred promises. A few moments later, I break the silence by saying, “Still wanna have a mini-Melody.”

I feel her tense up, but I need her to know I want a family. It’s important to me. She sits up from lying down, folding her legs underneath her, and takes a deep breath. “Let’s start slowly. I want to savor our time alone, for awhile.”

“One year,” I blurt out. “After we get married, we wait one year until we have babies. Deal?”

“Depends -”

I place my finger over her lips. “Ah….No. One year, Babe.”

She groans, “Fine. One year,” then her frown turns into a beautiful smile. She wants this just as much as I do. I fucking knew it.

“That’s more like it.” I grab her waist to bring her lips back onto mine. I’ll get never enough of her succulent lips. She always tastes so good. “Gonna buy you the biggest diamond ever.”

“You better. I look hot in big pieces of bling.”

“Fuck, yes you do,” I chuckle. “After this cast comes off, we’re getting hitched. No ifs ands or buts.”

“Okay.”

I’m shocked she didn’t argue like she normally does. “No arguments?”

“No. I’m tired of arguments.”

I kiss her forehead. “Me too, Baby.”

I’m in fucking heaven.

I FELT HORRIBLE ABOUT HOW
I reacted to Wayne’s proposals. It scares me to death to think about being tied down to someone, having kids. I never wanted to have kids. I never saw it my future. I don’t understand why we all of sudden have to have both things all at once. He’s determined to settle things quickly and I’m afraid I won’t catch up in time.

When I left Wayne’s bedroom I saw Raquel run in there. I stayed around a few more minutes to catch a glimpse of them together. She brought a book to him to read. He had his arm wrapped around her while she read out loud. It was the most precious thing I had ever witnessed. She was so tiny next to him; her curly blonde hair brushed along his arm as she laid against it. He would smile and help her read if she got stuck on a word. They laughed together and read the sentences out loud together.
Priceless
. Seeing Wayne get sentimental with Raquel did something to me. It made me think about how he would be with his own child. His own little girl. He would make the perfect daddy. Then there’s me. Would I make a good mother? Do I have any mother material inside myself? I never pictured myself as one.

“He’s wonderful with her, isn’t he?”

Sheri startles me. We’re both peeking around the corner from his bedroom, so he can’t see us. “Yeah, he really is.” I take a step back and wander back toward the front door. Sheri follows me. I cross my arms across my chest and tell her what’s going on. “He wants to marry me, Sheri. And have kids. He’s freaking me out.”

She shakes her head with a slight grin on her face. Seems like she knows exactly what I’m going through. “He’s just like his father; so passionate and dominate - but in a good way,” she tells me. “My son loves you so much. So much so, he wants to spend the rest of his life with you. Do you know what that means?”

“No.”

She takes hold of my right hand and gives it a squeeze. “He’s going to be your constant rock forever. He’s in this for a lifetime.”
My constant rock for a lifetime. I really, really want that.
“When I was struggling, just like you, my mother said to me:
Sheri, marriage doesn’t end things. Instead it’s the start to an extraordinary forever.
And you know what? She was right.” She then, takes my face into her hands and says, “Don’t be afraid. You’re going to make Wayne very happy.”

I don’t know how it happened, but something clicked.

I am going to tell Wayne yes. I want to get married, be a constant rock for him, as much as he will be for me. It’s a win - win.

The next day, after I gave Wayne my answer, I told Harmony and Harmony told…well…everyone else. The news traveled like a wildfire. We made sure the media was not in on this though. We needed to keep it quiet, so when the day came, we wouldn’t be hounded by them and spread out on every social site. I wasn’t ready for the world to know. I wanted them to get to know
“Melody”
before they got to know Melody Priest----the woman who stole one of the hottest playboys around. Sadly, I knew it was going to be inevitable. I wasn’t a household name just yet. Signing on with June was going to be the key to getting my name out there, but knowing I was going to be married to Wayne? Those doors would fly open. I could feel it. I just hope I’ll be known for my talent, not for being Wayne’s arm candy.

A week after coming home from Louisiana, June asked me to come to the studio. Wayne was by my side when June pushed that contract in front of me.

We’re sitting in her office on the sofa, looking at the final parts of the contract. I feel like I am dreaming, it’s so surreal. “Five years. Wow.” I am so surprised, I didn’t expect for June to sign me on for this long.

“Five years is going to fly by, Melody,” June says. “Not long enough to get two albums out, but I know you can do it.”

“Two albums. Holy shit,” I respond under my breath.

Wayne lays an arm over my shoulder. “You nervous, Babe?”

“More like overwhelmed.”

“It’s a lot to take in, believe me I know. Look over the contract for the next couple days. Think about it, don’t rush until you’ve read and understood everything,” June advises me. “You have
JINKS’
lawyer to help you with any legal questions.”

“She’s right,” Wayne says. “We’ll get it faxed over to Saul and he’ll take a look at it.”

Yes. Getting a lawyer to look at this contract is what I need. Some of this shit is too hard to understand. Even though I’m overwhelmed, I couldn’t be more excited. I just hope I do June and Wayne proud.

June takes a seat in front of me, on the coffee table.. She leans on her knees, clasping her hands together. “Melody…you’re going to rock the music world. You, my dear friend, are a rare talent that I haven’t seen in a long while. I really can’t wait till we get started. So on that note I have some good news.”

“What is it?” I ask.

“I have the perfect producer for you, and he’s just as excited to work with you.”

“Who’s the producer?”

“Calvin Joy.”

“What?” I gasp, looking over at Wayne. He’s just as surprised as I am. “
The
Calvin Joy, who produces for
Kings Fate
?”

June smiles. “You got it.”

“Oh, my God, he’s amazing,” I exclaim. I am almost jumping out of my seat, I’m so excited. “He’s produced over fifty artists!”

“Yes he has, and he wants you,” June taps my knee, gleaming with pure excitement.

“This is too much. Holy crappola!”

Wayne leans in and kisses the side of my head. “Proud of you, Baby.”

Calvin Joy is like my dream producer! How June pulled this off, I have no idea. I just remember wanting to work with him while I was living in LA, dropping off my demos at every studio. I prayed he would pick up my music and find his next big star, but it never came true. Not until now. Finding out he was interested in me, after all these years doesn’t even matter anymore. I was finally going to work with him and show him how awesome I am. I will blow his fucking socks off.

After leaving the studio, Wayne and I grabbed some early dinner at
In-N-Out Burger
. We picked up an order for Slim as well. We ate in front of their enormous TV and watched a show called
The Killing
, on Netflix. My boys were obsessed with this show. While eating, every so often I’d find Slim scrolling through his phone. He had a scowl formed upon his face, a frustration I haven’t seen on him before. My guess is, it had something to do with Lyric. Everyone has been worried about her, but from what I’ve heard, her father is a huge, famous actor and is not allowing anyone to contact her. Poor Slim.

My rocker boy was falling asleep, so I helped him from his recliner and got him to bed. Instead of going right to sleep, Wayne got a second wind and ordered me to strip down to nothing and to sit on his face. I couldn’t say no to him. Every time he would look at me with those blue windows of his an instant wetness occurred between my legs. He has this extreme pull on me that forces me to forget my own name. Never would I have thought we’d end up together and get engaged. I never saw it coming. It’s still a shock, I don’t think I’ll ever get used to it.

I’m wrapped up in Wayne’s strong arms, kissing his amazing exposed chest, relishing every formed ripple that he has worked so hard to get. His body is beautifully sculpted, every woman’s dream - and he’s all mine.

I am thinking about today’s meeting with June. I still can’t get over my sudden luck. It’s unlike anything I have ever imagined. Not one, but two albums in five years.

“Two albums. This is nuts!” I exclaim.

Wayne tightens his grip on my waist and chuckles. “I know the feeling.”
That
he does.

I lean up from his chest, onto my forearm to meet his eyes. “You believe I can do this?”

He cups my face. “Sweetness…I know you can. Without a fucking doubt,” he reassures me. I bring my lips up to his, biting his bottom lip, then lead my tongue inside his mouth. He is so hot and tasty. “I’ll be married to a killer, hot rocker babe,” he murmurs against my lips.

“That’s right. Don’t you forget it either.”

He grabs my naked ass, squeezing it. “Woman, you’ll always be hot to me,” he grunt.

I start doodling on his chest with my finger, lightly tickling him. “You do realize, since I
am
so hot, that the men will be wanting me just as much as the women want you,” I tease, batting my eyelashes.

In an instant, his eyes become heated. I know for a fact he doesn’t like the idea of anyone getting a piece of me. He has nothing to worry about, though. “They better keep their fucking grubs off of you or they’ll be wishing they weren’t born,” he warns me.

I smile at his intensity. His possessiveness is such a turn-on. “That’s my Rocker Boy. My gorgeous protector.”

“Will always protect what’s mine. Now kiss me, Baby.”

I comply and kiss the hell out of my sexy protector.

Saul got back to me a couple days after we faxed over my contract. We discussed some of the legalities that I didn’t quite understand. I felt more at ease after talking with him and was ready to sign.
