“What is it?” he asked,
moving his fingers over the muscular back. He couldn’t shake off the feeling
that it was something he knew, something important.
“I know it’s not your
fault, but I just feel so alone sometimes,” Seth uttered with a sniff.
“As in... you want a
date?” Domenico asked, slowly petting Seth’s skin. No, that wasn’t the right
word. He would not be petting his brother now, would he? Though that was
exactly how it felt. Slow, languid moves. Comforting, but also strangely sensuous.
“It’s not doable now
anyway,” Seth muttered and pulled away, quickly wiping his eyes. “Thanks, I
needed that.” He gave Dom’s shoulder a few strong pats.
“Why not?” Domenico
swiped his thumb over Seth’s beard, and the way the hairs scratched his skin
made him take a deep breath. Seth was so butch, yet so soft. “We could go
together.
“Yeah, that’s what I
thought of. A quiet night in with good food and tequila.” Seth finally smiled.
Domenico sighed, knowing
that Seth was down. They could have dinner together, and then invite an escort
for a threesome. That would be hot. Seth getting blown by a beautiful brawny
man. It ticked all of Dom’s boxes.
By the time they got to
the mall, Seth seemed to be in a much better mood. Which was good, because
moody Seth was a pain in the ass. Nothing like the happy-go-lucky Seth,
cracking jokes and giving Dom those confusingly bonerific smiles.
Domenico made sure to
make the dressing on his face as small as possible. It was their first outing
since forever. Well, since Domenico remembered, but his memory bank was
currently drained. Being in a place with so many people made him nervous, but
it wasn’t as crowded as he had feared. Maybe they could buy something sweet,
too?
They went into a store
that boasted carrying big brands for small prices, so maybe it would be where
Dom would find the Holy Grail of briefs, the Armani ones. Seth drifted off to
the electronics section to find a panini press, so Dom was left to his own
devices, yet didn’t feel abandoned. He was in heaven. Clothes were organized by
size and type, and the tables with underwear made his mouth water. He could
pick and choose. Black? White? Dark blue? Maybe he could go crazy and go for
red? Or would that be too much?
He got a bit self-conscious
when he picked up the packet, because a guy on the opposite side gave him a
sneaky look, and there was a smile trembling on his lips. It could be mocking,
but it could be inviting as well.
“Like anything you see?”
Domenico asked, assessing the stranger. The man was handsome enough, with bulky
shoulders. Blond, but he’d do.
The guy cocked his head
to the side and smiled. “Those look good.” He pointed to the briefs in Dom’s
hand.
Domenico smirked, and it
was as if someone inserted a battery into his brain. His body became alert,
pulsing. It was a once familiar feeling. Hell, he didn’t even remember his last
fuck. He didn’t remember any of them. It was high time to make new memories.
“They would on you.”
“I’ll have to get a
better look.” The guy had cute dimples in his cheeks, and Dom could already
imagine those lips on his dick. The stranger circled the table full of boxed
briefs and walked up so close his arm brushed against Dom’s. So it looked like
even with a wound on his face Dom had the right amount of charisma.
The friction from the
touch sent a spark of excitement all the way to Domenico’s balls. He slowly
turned his head to look up at the guy. Almost as tall as Seth, he had bright
green eyes and a smile Dom would just love to see on that face when burying his
cock in the man’s ass. They could just go to the restrooms. It was so easy.
“Can you imagine I
actually found one?”
Domenico stiffened when
he heard Seth’s voice, and the stranger looked over Dom’s shoulder with a
slight frown.
As lovely as it was to
hear Seth so enthusiastic, the timing was horrendous. Domenico flinched and
slowly slid his hand into the guy’s back pocket, just to get a feel of his ass.
It was nice and firm, as expected.
“Seth, can we talk a bit
later?”
Seth put the boxed
panini press on top of all the briefs as his eyes went straight for Dom’s hand.
“What about?” he said, and instead of going away, like a good wingman would, he
came a step closer.
Domenico exhaled,
feeling the buttock flex against his palm. So good. He was going to come so hard.
“Not now. Later. I need to talk to
him
now.” Domenico sighed. “What’s
your name?” he asked the guy.
“I’m Ian.”
Seth pushed Dom back
hard, and it was so out of the blue Dom had to do a double take. “What do you
need to talk about?”
Domenico stretched and
looked straight at him. Ian walked over to the wall. Dom’s chance for sex could
be slipping through his fingers. “What the fuck was that?”
“You can’t fucking do
that in public. You’re drawing attention to us.” Seth hissed and pushed at
Dom’s chest again. If that wasn’t
drawing attention
to them, Dom didn’t
know what was.
Fire exploded in
Domenico’s stomach, and he could feel, hear his muscles getting rigid. “What
the fuck? Since when is it your business what I do?”
“Since you’re putting
your hand on a guy’s ass in public.” Seth’s nostrils flared as he approached
Dom again.
“No idea. Felt like it.
Maybe I could have actually fucked him if you didn’t chase him away,” hissed
Domenico when Ian slipped away, surely freaked out by this scene.
“You are not fucking
anyone else!” Seth pushed him again, and Dom could already see security heading
their way, but what was occupying most of his mind was the strange way Seth
worded his accusations. Had he heard that correctly? No one else than
who
?
He stared at Seth, breathless.
It all fell into place. The clockwork of his brain sparked, and he leaned back
against the underwear table, staring into those dark, furious eyes. “Do we
fuck?”
“What does it matter
what we
did
, if you don’t remember any of it?”
Yep, it was a full-blown
jealousy scene if Dom had ever seen one. A security guard grabbed Seth’s arm
from behind.
“Sir, you need to leave
the premises now,” he said.
Domenico’s fists burned,
but they couldn’t take this scene further. They needed to leave. Now. His
throat was choking up with nausea. “We’re fine,” he muttered, his gaze drilling
holes in Seth’s forehead.
Seth shrugged off the
security guard, who watched them intently, but since they did make their way
out of the store, the man didn’t bother them anymore. He looked relieved that
they’d left. Seth’s fists were clenched as he moved through the mall like an
icebreaker heading for the North Pole.
Domenico walked behind
him, his body expanding with fumes of anger and betrayal. Was
this
how
truthful Seth had been? Who knew, maybe the mafia was a lie as well? Sons of a
Don? Wasn’t that fucking romantic. He didn’t know what to think, and the only
thing keeping him from abandoning the bastard was that Seth was his only
connection to who he had been. It was so fucking messed up.
As they walked out into
the parking lot, Seth rubbed his forehead. “Is that what you want? To fuck that
guy?” he groaned.
That was it. Domenico
rushed to catch up with Seth, grabbed the front of his jacket and slammed a
fist into his face, pushing him on the side wall of their RV. His brain was
hurting so bad it made his eyes sting. He didn’t know what was going on. The
fucker had been crying on his shoulder about ‘being lonely’ just two hours ago,
and Domenico had believed him then.
Seth grabbed his face
with a groan, and pushed at Dom’s chest. “Well, fuck you too!”
“Why didn’t you tell
me?” Domenico tried to breathe, but his windpipe clenched, letting in only a
trickle of air. “Were you planning to dump me? What the fuck?”
“I thought you’d
remember me with time! What does it matter? I’m like a stranger to you.” There
was a tremble to his voice, but Seth’s stance was so fucking confrontational
Dom wanted to punch him again.
“Yeah, and I spent the
last three weeks lusting after my brother! You’re fucking
insane
,”
hissed Domenico. He hit the hood of their RV and walked off along the parking
lot, kneading his nape with both hands. His mind was frying.
“I thought that whoever
you woke up as deserved a choice as to whether he wanted to fuck his brother or
not,” Seth groaned, his voice just as menacing as the orange light of the
setting sun on the asphalt.
Domenico turned around,
ignoring an elderly couple passing by, and yelled so hard his throat hurt. “I
trusted you!”
Seth watched him from
his spot by the RV and licked up some blood dripping from his nose. “What was I
supposed to say? ‘Hello, you don’t know me, but I’m your fiancé’?”
Domenico’s stomach
clenched at that last word, but he spread his arms, trembling slightly. “Yeah,
you fucking should have.”
Seth’s lips twisted into
a mocking smile. “And you’d just go for it?”
Domenico stared at him
in disbelief. What the fuck was this? Seth had been nothing but understanding
and caring, so what the fuck changed all of a sudden? He was so confused he
didn’t know what to do at first. “I just want to rip your balls off.”
“Why don’t you go and
fuck
Ian
instead, huh? Go burn off some steam without wondering what he
knows about you.” Seth bared his slightly bloodied teeth, watching Dom’s every
move.
“Maybe I should if
you’re
such a prick.” Domenico walked closer to Seth, his muscles aching from the
tension. The sparks between them were practically visible, and Dom couldn’t
discern if they came from anger or excitement at the way Seth looked at him. It
was a completely new, ugly side of Seth that he hadn’t known of before.
“Try me.”
Domenico walked over and
opened the van’s side door with the key. He could feel Seth’s closeness, that
greedy, selfish gaze trailing all over his back. “I’m not gonna waste my time
to look for a guy. I’ll just order an escort if I want to.”
“The fuck you will!”
Seth charged him, but Dom blocked the chaotic mass of muscle and threw Seth
inside the van using the power behind that sneaky attack. He was elated. High
with the sense of power it gave him.
He shut the door and
dropped the keys on the table. Then he stared at Seth picking himself up from
the floor and squinting at Dom as if he were watching a cobra. It only gave Dom
more clues about who he was and what he was capable of.
“Let’s go,” Seth
muttered.
“Drive,” Dom said,
watching him from his position at the door. He was taking deep, slow breaths,
even though he was everything but calm. He couldn’t believe Seth would do this
to him. It seemed he could trust no one.
“You’d never pay for sex,”
Seth said as he moved to the driver’s seat. Worst thing was that Dom now wasn’t
sure if it was the truth, or some reverse psychology bullshit Seth was trying
on him. He was tired.
Slowly, he walked over
to the sofas and started converting them into a bed. The whole RV shook when
Seth pulled out of the parking space. The atmosphere became unbearable. Dom
slouched on the bed, staring at all they had. This small van cluttered with
stuff, including Seth’s motorcycle. He felt trapped. And while he could just take
the money and leave, something within him protested at that idea with the
ferocity of a rabid dog.
It seemed as much as he
wanted to, he couldn’t trust Seth. Seth was a liar, constantly feeding him
half-truths, guarding him like a jealous animal, because Seth clearly
didn’t
want to fuck Dom himself.
Now that Domenico had
the bed laid out, his need to retire faded, and so he started looking through
all their belongings, including the damn suitcase with hard cash. Item after
item, he looked for clues he could have missed.
Why did Seth call him a
fiancé, not a ‘boyfriend’ anyway? Dom looked at his fingers, but he wore more
than one signet. He examined all of them under light, but none had engravings.
He looked through the suitcase, but the only paperwork was the fake passports
and driver’s licenses. From one of the compartments of the suitcase, Dom pulled
out Seth’s battered recipe book and studied it page by page, looking for the
tiniest detail to decipher their life.
