“Is sex allowed to be this good?” Before they could respond, she moaned and pushed her butt back to meet Philo’s next thrust. “I feel light-headed with shock…this must be what the poets mean when they talk about desire…your cocks are so fucking amazing, I never want to let them go…I’m on sensual meltdown here, guys. Help me out, I’m begging you.”
“Don’t you just love it when she begs?” Philo panted.
“Does it for me,” Mikael agreed.
“Stop being so smug. I know you’re both close. I can feel your cocks throbbing inside me. Are your balls pulling up yet? I’ll bet they are. Come on, mates, let’s do this!”
Layla felt vindicated when they were incapable of anything more coherent than duplicate groans. They moved faster, Philo slapped her backside harder, and she felt both their cocks swelling, ready to explode.
“I’m gonna come for you again!” she yelled. “Just fuck me like you mean it, guys.”
Her overstimulated heart could take no more, and her orgasm hit like a tornado, causing her limbs to spasm, tremble, and ache as they bore the brunt of her meltdown. They both exploded into her at exactly that point, and she rode the renewed sensations that the scent of their musky arousal engendered deep within her.
On and on it went and so, it seemed, did they, expunging her inexorable need for them, at least temporarily.
They collapsed together, none of them with enough energy to speak for several minutes. Finally, Mikael leaned up on one elbow and kissed her.
“That, Mrs. Chatrier-Hart, was beyond my wildest expectations. Thank you.”
“We love you so damned much it hurts,” Philo added, kissing her also.
Chapter Sixteen
For the next few days, Layla’s life consisted of visiting a rapidly improving Amy and being fucked in all sorts of inventive ways by her mates. She wasn’t sure which activity thrilled her more.
Mikael was almost back to normal, putting in full days at the Institute again. Philo was preparing a room in the apartment for Amy. He and Mikael had spent a lot of time with the little girl, too, getting to know her. She and Philo now shared lots of secrets and he was pretty sure he knew how she would like her room decorated. Layla wasn’t allowed any input, nor was she allowed to peep.
“She can come home tomorrow,” Mikael said when they sat down to supper together on the third day.
“Oh, that’s great.”
“Guess you’d better see her room, then,” Philo said. “I need you to tell me if you think she’ll like it.”
He was like a kid himself, Layla thought fondly, barely able to contain his own excitement at the surprise he’d prepared for her daughter. He opened the door to Amy’s room, stood back, and Layla was almost blinded by a slew of pink. Pink walls, patterned pink comforter on the bed, pretty cream furniture, shelves full of books, toys, and lots of pink dolls. The pink ceiling sparkled with stars.
“Well?” Philo asked expectantly.
“It’s…er, very pink.”
“But she loves pink.”
Laughing, Layla turned and threw her arms around Philo’s neck. “Yes, she does, and she’ll love this. Thank you for being so thoughtful.”
“I had fun chatting with Amy, finding out what she liked.”
“She’s scared of the dark, right?” Mikael asked.
“Yes.”
“Those stars on the ceiling glow at night. It’ll be like she’s sleeping outside. That ought to get her over her fears.”
It was Mikael’s turn to receive a grateful hug from a doting mother.
“You seem to have thought of everything.”
“Including this.”
Philo opened the closet doors and showed her the neat rows of clothes stored there.
“We visited Cool Kittens,” he explained, “the kids’ boutique in the shopping mall, and…er, got a bit carried away.”
Layla raised her brows. “Only a bit.”
“Okay, a lot, but we’ve never had a mate or a cub to spoil before.”
Amy adored her new room and settled into the apartment like she’d live there all her life. Layla was unable to contact her mother and let her know her news. She’d go back to Boston and tell her in person, collect up their stuff, and return to Impulse for good. Mikael and Philo were determined to come with her and introduce themselves. Layla’s mom couldn’t be told about them being shifters, but Mikael was determined she’d know that Layla was with them both and that Amy was well and loved. Layla figured her mother would understand the unconventional arrangement, fall beneath Mikael’s and Philo’s compelling charm, and wish her nothing but joy. She’d then be free to live her own life, at last, with the gentleman friend who’d been begging her for months to marry him.
“Okay, princess, are we ready?” Philo asked, crouching down to the same level as Amy.
“I’m not a princess today, I’m a fairy.”
“Course you are.”
Philo scooped Amy into his arms. Layla, dressed in another of Irena’s fabulous creations, linked arms with her two mates as they headed for the Cat’s Whiskers
and their postponed wedding party. Amy, in her sparkling pink fairy costume, ballet slippers—pink—on her feet, and a plastic wand that she waved enthusiastically and almost took Philo’s eye out with, was the star of the show. She still wore her pink mop cap with a tiara over it, but Layla had already seen early signs of her hair growing back again.
Everyone applauded when they entered the bar. The whole colony had turned out to help them celebrate and to make a fuss of Amy.
“I’m a fairy and I’m going to wave my wand and grant my mommy three wishes,” she said to the amusement of everyone who heard her.
But Layla couldn’t think of a single thing she wished for. She was already surrounded by all she needed and would never stop counting her blessings.
