I will always need you. I will just no longer be a burden, I’ll just be your brother.” Max embraced his brother and kissed his cheek. “I love you man.
You’re the only family that I’ve got. I know we got our men, but we have each other first.”
Ryker forgave his brother with the promise that he could go be his own man but never lie to him again.
Angel pulled into the garage across from his new club and parked in his reserved space. The grand opening of Blue Moon Rising was tonight and Max could see that the line was wrapped around the corner. Tonight they didn’t open until nine o’clock, but people were already lined up behind the blue velvet ropes for the early arrival door prizes.
Max and Angel held hands as they made their way to the entrance passing by the long line. People were yelling, whistling, and cheering as Angel waved and thanked them for coming. His long black hair was out and flowing in the night air, causing the men and women to swoon. His all black Versace suit, black dress shirt, and black silk tie made him look like an erotic vampire. Max had the sudden urge to let Angel bite him on his neck.
Max was dressed to the nines in a midnight blue Kenneth Cole suit, a pale gray, collared cashmere-silk shirt and sea-salt-gray silk tie. Angel said it made his eyes look alluringly silver.
“Kiss. Kiss. Kiss. Kiss!” The crowd chanted loudly as soon as Angel and Max got to the front of the line.
Max didn’t hesitate, even for a second, but he didn’t rush it either. He slid one hand behind Angel’s neck underneath his beautiful mane as he slipped his other arm inside Angel’s suit jacket, winding his forearm around his waist. The crowd began to roar as Max put on a show. His blue-gray eyes were electric as he stayed locked on Angel’s face despite the noise. Max pulled Angel into his body, fitting them together perfectly. He tilted Angel’s head to the side with his firm grip and tenderly stroked his cheek with his thumb.
The crowd got even louder. “Kiss him. Kiss him. Kiss him!”
Max gave Angel one of the sexiest grins he had as he took his warm tongue and dramatically licked Angel’s parted lips. Angel gripped Max’s hips and braced himself for the ride. Max titled his head slightly, pressed his groin into Angel, and completely sealed their mouths together. Max plundered Angel’s mouth like he was searching for a hidden treasure inside. Angel completely submitted and let his man devour everywhere his talented tongue could reach. Max’s display of power left no question who was in charge in their bedroom and Angel enjoyed every second of it.
You would’ve thought it was England’s royal couple kissing, the way the crowd cheered and shouted. “More. More. More!”
Max and Angel had gotten carried away and almost forgot about their audience when they heard several throats clearing next to them.
Max pulled back very slowly licking his lips and looked in the direction of the person who’d ruined his fun. He looked into an identical set of eyes as the ones in front of him. Angel’s father. Max gave Shot an embarrassed look, while stepping in to embrace him.
“Having a good time, son?” Shot patted Max on the back a few times and released him from the hug.
“Ummm…ummm.” Max coughed. “Angel, look who’s here babe…your Dad,” he blurted out.
Angel rolled his eyes. “Yes, I can see him, Max. Dad, I’m so glad all of you could come.” Angel hugged his Father and all of his uncles as he ushered them into the club to make their way to the Pacific VIP room.
Each VIP section had a geographical influence as the decoration theme.
The Blue Moon Club that was on Sixteenth Street, twenty-five blocks up had color-themed VIP sections. Blue Moon and Blue Moon Rising were entirely different. That way people would frequent both of them and not have the same experience. Max called Angel the most brilliant businessman he’d ever met.
As the night went on everyone showed up at some point through the evening. Pierce, the SWAT team, all of Max’s firefighting friends, Ryker, Bass, and even the mayor made a very brief appearance managing to have one drink in the Egyptian room. The drinks kept coming and everyone was really loosening up and having a great time. Angel didn’t have to work because this club was managed by Sam.
All of them were now in the Hawaiian room enjoying themselves when suddenly all the lights went out in their room and the music died.
“Dammit, I’ll take care of this, everyone…sit tight.” Angel raced out of the room.
Sam was making his way down the hall toward him.
“What the hell?” Angel yelled. “Sam, why the hell would power go out in one damn room?” Angel questioned.
“It wouldn’t,” Sam countered.
“Well, it sure as hell did…come look.” Angel marched back to the room and swung back the curtains and saw that the lights were back on. However, Max was in the middle of the room down on one knee with all of their family and friends standing behind him. Angel looked at Max.
“Angel, come to me baby,” Max purred seductively.
Angel made his way to the middle of the floor. Max took his left hand and kissed it very gently before speaking.
“Angel my love. I don’t need to do a long speech on how much you mean to me. I don’t have to explain why I love you as much as I do, and how very special that I think you are. You and everyone in this room already
know that. I look into your eyes and I see the other half of myself. I see the man that I am. I see the man I will become. I see the future…and I love it.
Baby…I love you.” Max reached in his suit pocket and pulled out a velvet royal blue box and slowly pried it open. “Angel.” Max paused and looked into Angel’s eyes as he let his tears fall freely. “Marry me.”
Angel didn’t hesitate. “Yes,” Angel whispered.
Max slid the platinum band onto Angel’s finger and stood to embrace him in a loving hug, both men whispering words in each other’s ears as their family cheered them on.
They danced, drank, and celebrated until the early morning. Ryker got smashed and started telling everyone embarrassing stories about Max when he was growing up. When he’d started dancing on the bar, Bass popped him hard on the ass and carried him out of the club. Everyone died laughing. Max couldn’t be happier for Ryker. Bass was exactly what he needed.
They were all spread out around the large club now, kinda doing their own things. Shot’s team was off chatting up women or nursing their drinks while shooting the shit. Shot sat at the bar alone. He was happy for his son.
He was happy for his soon-to-be son. However, something felt off. He couldn’t quite put his finger on it.
“May I have the last dance?”
Shot’s breath whooshed out of his chest and he’d almost spit out his sip of cognac as he immediately recognized the sexiest fucking voice in the world. Special Agent Fox was standing next to his stool leaning casually against the long bar. Shot knew the man next to him was too powerful and too fierce to be dressed like a damn model.
Fox wore tailored black slacks and an untucked black collared dress shirt with the first two buttons undone. The large wrist cuffs of the shirt were fastened by diamond cuff links. Shot desperately tried to keep his pooling saliva in his mouth as he took in the beautiful man from head to toe.
“I’ll take that as a yes.” Fox intertwined their fingers and confidently led them out to the dance floor.
“I didn’t know you’d be here tonight,” Shot whispered into Fox’s ear, and since the Special Agent held him so close. Shot felt every muscle the man had underneath the expensive shirt and he loved it. The man smelled so good, Shot wanted to see if he smelled that good down lower too.
Fox led them through the slow song as he deliciously rubbed himself against Shot. “Of course I’m here. I left something very valuable that I had to come back and get.” His coarse jaw rubbed against Shot’s cheek as he spoke those sinful words.
“And what was that?” Shot asked, intrigued.
“You, Isadore.”
Chapter Thirty-Two
“I’m retired, Chief. I just want to live out my later days in peace. I can’t plan your missions any longer.” Pierce paused respectably and listened to the chief of police present his argument. “Chief, I understand, really…” Pierce huffed. “I’m not promising anything. But if I do it I’ll want my own team. I’ll get back to you in forty-eight hours.” Pierce disconnected the call and leaned against the wall outside the back of the club.
He’d been helping his best friend celebrate his engagement when he got the secured call from his former boss. Now he was in the back parking lot pacing as the loud music filtered out the door.
“So what’s your decision gonna be, Backhander?”
Pierce spun around to the deep whiskey voice, and set eyes on the mysterious Hawk.
“Are you constantly lurking, Hawk?” Pierce questioned, annoyed.
“Yes.”
Pierce took in a shaky breath as the tall man sauntered over, stopping only a couple of inches from him. Hawk had his dirty blond hair pulled back into a ponytail that stopped at the base of his neck. He wore a simple black, short-sleeved, V-neck T-shirt that let him show off his elaborate tattooed arms. His denim jeans fit tight as sin and his black Timberland boots never made a sound when he walked. Pierce had to admit to himself that the man was looking casually fine tonight. Hawk’s attire didn’t exude glamour but his eyes sure did.
Pierce wanted to take a step back but steeled himself and stared into Hawk’s hypnotic eyes. “What did you just call me?”
“You heard me the first time.” Hawk kept inching closer as he spoke.
“Yeah, I heard you Hawk. You’re top clearance military too…you know of confidentiality, so I don’t need to lecture you on the importance of keeping a high-ranking official’s identity furtive.” Pierce was a very brilliant man…and very powerful. However, he found himself feeling small around the dangerous Seal. He felt he needed to save face when around this man.
“But if you feel the need to run your mouth, I can make a way to keep it
closed. I don’t think the Beastmasters want to be stationed at a piece-of-shit base in a remote part of Bulgaria.”
“Oh your secret is safe with me, beautiful.” Hawk winked and gave Pierce his sexiest smirk.
Pierce just snorted, shook his head, and turned around to walk back into the club.
Hawk reached out and spun Pierce back around slamming him into his chest.
“Whoa! You really have an issue respecting people’s personal space don’t you, Aramis.” Pierce tried to pry himself out of Hawk’s grip but the man held on tight, pushing his semihard cock into Pierce’s thigh. “Jesus. You really are barking up the wrong tree, man. I’m not gay, Hawk.” Pierce squirmed, as he tried to avoid the beautiful array of colors swarming around in the man’s potent eyes.
“I see differently.” Hawk thrust in a little harder.
“Back off, Hawk,” Pierce growled as he shoved hard at that rock-solid chest. Pierce wasn’t a big man and he wasn’t packed with muscles. He was a genius, not a soldier.
Hawk didn’t release him until he was damn good and ready—and as soon as he did, Pierce backhanded him hard across his chiseled face. Hawk’s head barely moved as he grunted and shoved them both up against the wall. “I heard that notorious backhand of yours is dangerous, but I consider it a love tap,” Hawk hissed against Pierce’s neck.
Pierce’s breathing was erratic and a fine sheen of sweat had broken out across his brow. “You’re fucking crazy, Hawk.”
“So I’ve been told. If you’re going on a new assignment, then I think you know what team you should use.” Hawk’s lips were very close to Pierce’s collarbone.
“You really think the Beastmasters are the team that I need. I’ve heard you all don’t do very well with authority.” Pierce tried to speak matter-of-factly, but he was having a hard time because his cock was trying to betray him. Being this close to Dane Aramis was Pierce’s wet dream come true. But no one knew he was gay…and that’s the way it was going to stay.
“Be that as it may, we get the job done right. Think about it, Backhander.” Hawk slowly stepped back. The violet flecks in his eyes danced around as he flashed that all-knowing smile.
Pierce couldn’t bear to watch those eyes any longer. He shimmied past Hawk’s bulk and turned to head back to the club’s back door. He thought that it may be time to start doing a few things to make him happy…not just solving other’s people problems all the time. He heard Hawk’s rich, seductive voice call out after his retreating form.
“And after the mission is completed…we have unfinished business, gorgeous.”
“Indeed,” Pierce whispered, without a backward glance.
