He pulled Colby closer and kissed the side of his head. Colby huffed and turned, pressing his ass against Seth’s body. Being close to Colby felt amazing. He could easily get used to this. One thing was for sure, he certainly didn’t want Colby to leave.

Chapter Twenty-Five

Ten days had passed since Colby had moved in and Seth had never been happier. The Chargers had won against the Jaguars by fourteen points. When he’d come home from that game, Colby had pampered him. He was so close to declaring his love it was crazy. They fit together so well. For a guy who wasn’t into football, Colby picked up the slack and started learning about the game. Colby was impressed with the Chargers record of seven wins and two losses. Though they were headed into the toughest part of the season, Seth felt good about their placement. That didn’t mean they would stay up there, and he sure as hell wasn’t going to get cocky, but he did feel good.

His parents had declined to come see him at Thanksgiving, which gave him some time to think about what he would tell them about Colby. He didn’t like that his mom wasn’t feeling great, but having the extra weeks to think about what to say made him feel better.

He’d made dinner, cleaned the house, and bought some massage oil that supposedly tasted like fruit. He wasn’t sold on the fruity taste, but he was willing to try it out. Seth was ready for his man, but Colby was running late. When thirty minutes had passed after the time Colby normally got home he began to worry. Then an hour and he was about to freak out when the door opened and Colby stepped in.

“Where have you been?” Seth stepped into the entryway, his anger spiking when he saw Colby.

It took a few seconds for the pleasant look on Colby’s face to shift. His brows pulled together and his lips turned down in a frown. “Excuse me?”

“You’re an hour late.”

“I didn’t know I had to check in with you,” Colby spit back in the same tone Seth had used.

“Maybe you should call next time.”

Colby brushed past him and headed into the bedroom. Seth followed, slamming the bedroom door behind them. Colby turned on him and danger flew through Seth but he ignored the warning signs.

“What right do you have to yell at me the second I come in the door?”

He should pull back, maybe apologize, but he was on a roll. “What right do you have not to call?”

“Don’t tell me what to do. I move out here and all of a sudden we’re living together. I have my own life. I can do whatever the hell I want.”

Seth stepped closer, his heart was hammering hard. He didn’t want to lose this man, but his anger was riding high. “It’s called being considerate.”

“Maybe you should be considerate of me. Did you call and tell me you were cooking dinner? I didn’t know.”

They were both yelling now. “Why didn’t you call to tell me you’d be late?”

Like a tidal wave rolling onto a low beach, lust took over and they went from screaming at each other to ripping each other’s clothes off. Colby shoved him to the mattress and got on top. Colby was the first to grab for the condom and lube so Seth spread his legs and tugged Colby close, delivering a punishing kiss.

Seth gasped when Colby sunk into him and then Colby released a pent up breath. He’d thought they were going to go at it fast and furious, instead Colby slowed, his gaze locking with Seth’s. He reached up and cupped Colby’s cheek, smoothing his thumb over the day’s stubble.

Colby turned his head and kissed Seth’s wrist. They went from angry fucking to making love that fast. Rocking together, Seth clutched Colby, keeping him close, driving him wild. When he was almost there, Colby grabbed both of his wrists and held his arms to the mattress as he sped up their pace.

“Colby,” Seth cried out.

“Not yet, love.” Colby slowed and began kissing Seth’s chest and neck before he lifted up and met Seth’s gaze again. “Do you love me?”

The question took him by surprise and he answered without hesitation. “Yes. God yes, Colby I do.”

Colby slammed into him and held him tight as he came. Then he stroked Seth with so much caring his orgasm was nearly painful as he came hard. Colby slipped out of his ass and sat on the edge of the bed, staring at the floor. Seth sat up and placed his hand on Colby’s shoulder.

“I’m sorry I didn’t call. I didn’t mean to not think of you,” Colby said.

“It’s okay. I should have communicated with you better.”

Colby turned and straddled him, pressing him to the mattress. “I got scared because in the ten days we’ve been living together I finally realized today that I’ve fallen in love with you. You’re too easy to love and I thought maybe if I screwed up you’d tell me to leave and then the hurt would be less because I hadn’t told you I loved you yet.”

Seth easily flipped Colby and hung above him, staring down into his beautiful brown eyes. “Don’t try to second guess us again. What we have is special.”

“It is,” Colby said.

“I think our first fight ended well,” Seth said.

“We both said that we loved the other, so yeah, it ended well.”

“I do love you. I don’t know how to navigate what we have. I’ve never actually had a healthy relationship with a guy or a girl for that matter.”

“Considering that I’m pressing charges against my ex for attacking me, I’ve not had a healthy relationship either.”

“We should call more,” Seth whispered.

“We should. I think both of us are hesitant because we need to keep your sexuality hidden. I’ve not texted or called in the past because I was afraid one of the guys or your coach would see it,” Colby said.

“Please text me more. I swear it will be okay. I’ll switch the settings on my phone, change your name in my contacts, anything to make you never have to hesitate at contacting me.”

Colby pushed at Seth’s shoulder and he stood, tugging Colby up and into a hug. They kissed again, only this time it was full of love, there was no more anger left, only caring.

“Let’s eat,” Seth said.

“I’m sorry I was late. I do appreciate you making us dinner.”

“I enjoy cooking when there’s more than just me.”

“You’re really good at it.” Colby grabbed for his underwear but Seth stopped him.

“How about we just place towels on the chairs and eat naked?”

The right side of Colby’s mouth lifted and he nodded. “Making it easier for later?”

Seth chuckled. “Yeah, easier.”

Later, when he brought out the strawberries in a sauce, he was surprised when Colby dipped low and drizzled a little of the sauce on his cock. He gasped when Colby licked it off, his tongue warm against the cool sauce. He leaned his head back and let Colby play with the sauce and his cock. After a few minutes he was too close and started pumping his hips.

Colby stood and led him to the couch, pushing him to the cushions. For a moment he thought Colby was going to lie down and kiss him, instead Colby climbed onto the couch and adjusted so his cock was at Seth’s mouth and his mouth at Seth’s cock. Seth moved, sliding down so he could get Colby’s dick in his mouth and began sucking. He was in heaven with his lips wrapped around Colby’s cock, his dick in the warm heat of Colby’s mouth.

Seth was lost in the passion, his body just moving in response as Colby sucked him to heaven. After he came and then Colby came, he continued to suck until Colby pulled back and laughed.

“Too much?” Seth asked.

“Way too much.”

They both stood and stretched and then Seth saw the mess left on the table. Colby picked up their dirty dishes, grabbing the bowl of strawberries which he began feeding to Seth while he washed dishes.

Their night had started with anger and ended with both of them being so gentle with each other his heart ached. After the strawberries were half gone he took the bowl and placed it on the counter before wrapping Colby in his arms. They were both naked, but neither of them were hard. The feel of Colby’s soft cock against his leg made him shiver.

“We’re doing good,” Colby said.

“I think so.”

“We’ll talk more.” Colby leaned back and met his gaze.

“Yeah, more talk.”

“I missed you today. While I was at work I was thinking about you being here at home and I wasn’t.”

“You know, you don’t have to work,” Seth said.

Colby shook his head, his lips turned down. “I couldn’t just sit at home.”

“I didn’t think you could. But it is an option.”

“I would get bored.”

Seth ate another strawberry and fed one to Colby. “If it comes out that we’re a couple, people will get stupid.”

“What do you mean?”

“Your coworkers. They’ll go insane.”

Colby blew out a breath and nodded. “They were crazy before the game this weekend and then after. Some of the guys are complaining about it being a bye week.”

“If they knew you were with me, how crazy do you think they would be?”

“Yeah, you’re right. They would freak out.”

“Are you prepared for that?” Seth asked.

Colby backed up and leaned against the other counter. Seth couldn’t help but rake his eyes down Colby’s naked form. The guy was freaking sexy and had no clue.

“I don’t know how I’ll handle it, but I will.” Colby lifted his gaze and held out his hand. “I think we have the possibility of making it. Maybe we’re kidding ourselves, but I think we could have something special that can last.”

“I think you’re right about that. Really, I think you and I could be special together.”

“I’m sorry I didn’t tell you I was going to be late.”

“I’m not,” Seth brushed his lips over Colby’s and moaned.

“Why?”

“We got real. I think maybe we’ve been trying to be nice, but we haven’t gotten real.”

“I liked getting real.” Colby reached down and cupped Seth’s ass.

“You liked having my ass, didn’t you?”

“Fuck yeah, I loved sliding in, making you arch up and wiggle around. I loved making you come.”

“It felt good.”

“Good.”

Seth leaned his forehead against Colby’s “How about we go to bed? I really want to hold you.”

“Bed sounds good.”

Seth made sure the door was locked and everything was put up. Colby had brought more than just sex to his life. There was something deeper, more involved. Colby rounded him out, made him feel things he didn’t think he ever would. With this man by his side, he could imagine being happy for a long time.

Chapter Twenty-Six

Seth had three away games in a row and Colby had no clue what to do with himself on the third weekend missing his lover. He went to the beach and hung out after Seth took off on Saturday. He watched a movie, then went out to eat dinner.

On Sunday morning he woke searching for Seth. Depression filled him when he realized he wasn’t there. Colby wasn’t going to text him but he pushed away the fear and sent Seth a note.

Colby: I’m proud of you. You’re an amazing man and I love you. Today, I’ll be watching you play and tonight, I can’t wait to see you.

Seth: Thank you. I’m at the stadium already. It’s weird being so far away from you. I fell asleep last night dreaming of you and woke this morning thinking of you. I can’t wait for you to meet my parents at Christmas.

Colby: Did they decide if they are coming in for the game?

Seth: They decided against it. My mom is having issues sitting for a long time. They’ll be flying in on the 24
th
. I’ve got to go. Time to line up and head out. I love you.

Colby: Love you

The game ended like most of Seth’s games. Colby didn’t know enough about football to know if it was by chance, or if Seth really was that good. He suspected that Seth was that good.

Just before he was heading out to buy groceries, his phone rang. He checked the caller ID and saw that it was Seth.

“Hey, good game. You did great,” Colby said.

“Thanks. Your texts meant the world to me.”

“Mercer, who you on the phone with?” someone yelled at the other end of the line.

“Your mama,” Seth said.

“Fucker,” the guy called out.

Seth’s laugh sounded good. “I can’t wait until I get home.”

Worry twisted through Colby. “You called though you’re with the team?”

“Yeah. I wanted to hear your voice.” Colby heard kissy noises on the other end of the line. “Stop, you’re being immature.” Seth’s voice was muted like he was holding the phone away from his mouth.

“Do you need to go?” Colby asked.

“We’re about to get on the plane. I’ll see you later.”

Colby hung up and tossed his keys into the air. He and Seth would be together tonight. Before he left the condo he sent Seth a note stating that he would be cooking a special dinner. Happiness was easy with Seth, heck, everything was easy with Seth. They had a good life together, and nothing could change that. Their circumstances might change, but he knew beyond a doubt, their love would make it through anything.
