“I’
m sorry,” Nate murmured from behind. He wrapped his arms around Olivia’s waist and leaned into her. “I was a dick last night.”

She could feel the rise and fall of his breathing against her back.

“You got that right.”

After a restless night, she finally decided to get up and cook them breakfast. Olivia was still upset from what had happened at the bar between Nate and Luke.

“I’m a bit of a hothead who’s dating a smart and beautiful woman. Liv, I get jealous when some guy kisses you. What guy wouldn’t get upset? Then your ex shows up? And yeah, I nearly lost it. You have no idea how hard it was to rein it in. I wanted to kick his ass. I wanted to beat him within an inch of his life, but I didn’t.” Olivia tensed. “I didn’t because of who he was to you. Now had it been anyone else…” Nate wrapped his arms around Olivia and held her tightly from behind.

“But, Nate, when have I ever given you a reason not to trust me?” she asked softly. Olivia was still upset.

“You haven’t and I’m sorry, Olivia. I admit I was wrong to jump to conclusions. I just…”

“Just what,” she said as she turned off the water.

Olivia felt Nate take a deep breath and then said the last thing she was expecting to hear.

“That I’m falling hard for you. The kind of falling where the words ‘I love you’ usually follow soon after, Liv.”

Olivia was stunned. Unable to think…move…speak.

“Nate.”

“You don’t have to say anything,” his baritone voice washed over her skin. “In fact, I didn’t realize it until last night. Lying in bed next to you, with you curled up away from me, I felt like shit over our argument. I wanted nothing more than to reach out and hold you, but I knew you didn’t want it so I backed off. Last night was supposed to be us ending the night with you in my arms, like usual. Waking up next to you is something I love doing more than you can imagine. I didn’t like going to bed with you mad at me, and last night it killed me, Liv. I’ve fallen harder than I realized.” Nate brushed away her hair from her nape and tenderly kissed her, his stubble scraping her neck.

“I’m sorry for the way I acted.” Nate inhaled deeply and wound his arms tightly around her, pulling her back to his chest. She tried to turn around but couldn’t.

“Loosen up for me, Nate.”

“No. I can’t even look at you right now. I’m embarrassed of how I acted.”

“Nate, I swear I’m not going behind your back with Luke, but you have to trust me on this one and the reason I can’t tell you why I saw him.”

“I know you’re not. You haven’t given me a reason to doubt you. I do trust you. I was just completely blindsided by Luke showing up, his brother kissing you and hearing you saw him. But if you’re asking me to trust you on this one, I will. I have no choice not to trust you.

“I want you, Liv. I have from the moment you came into the exam room looking overwhelmed. Something about you draws me in, but it’s more than being gorgeous, though.” Nate’s deep voice sent shivers throughout her body. “You’re different and I’d be stupid to let you get away from me. It’s why I pushed so hard for you, why I didn’t give up. And you know what? I don’t think you want me to stop. I think you want me to push to see where this can go, but you’re still holding back. I can feel it and I can see it in your face. You’re still questioning ‘us’. Let go. Fuck the rules and live. Live with me. Feel the moment with me.”

Goodness, why did he have to go there? Why did Nate have to go and lay it on the line like that? Olivia had been so good at keeping the walls to her emotions solid and only lowering them to breathe. What he just said was so honest. Real. She was on the verge of tears, her chest contracting as she desperately fought to hold them in. Every minute with him, he pushed past the barriers she had erected over time.

Looking into the sink full of soap suds, a nervous tick in her knee caused her to bounce. Olivia wanted to give in, she did, but she was so scared of getting hurt again. Was the possible heartbreak worth what they had right now?

“Olivia,” Nate whispered near the nape of her neck. His voice was rough and his breathing hitched. He moved his hand from the counter and placed it on her hip, asking for more. The heat from his hand flamed her skin as it glided along her belly, bringing her closer to him.

“Please,” he pleaded and pressed his hips into her.

Squeezing her eyes shut from the sting of tears, she relaxed into Nate, answering his question with her softened body. Olivia could feel the heat pouring off of him as she burned for Nate. She turned her head to the left, moved it against his chest and inhaled his heady scent as it drifted over her, overwhelming her senses. His other hand grazed her jaw, his rough fingers helping guide her head up to his.

As she followed the movement of his hand, Olivia opened her eyes. Nate was so close she could see the black hairs along his square jaw. His eyes. His eyes always got to her. They were shooting to the center of her body, full of crazed passion and intensity. Her eyes fastened on lips she wanted to taste as Nate’s hand circled her stomach, his fingers creating a steady ache below while they stood there waiting for time to fast forward.

Nate had asked, and she’d given a partial answer. Now was time to deliver.

Standing on her toes, Olivia closed the distance with her mouth. She pressed her lips to his. It was an odd angle, but she made it work. Nate hadn’t moved his mouth at the touch of her lips, but his hand continued running in circles across her stomach, increasing the friction between them. She pushed harder with her mouth and he responded only just a bit.

When Nate didn’t respond like she thought he would, Olivia second guessed herself and pulled her mouth back to get a good look at him, but he pressed on her stomach with the heel of his palm in an effort to bring her back. She knew what he was doing. The press of his hand was saying she needed to make the effort now.

Nate was dropping his guard and letting her see what he truly felt. It was written all over his brazen body, his face a cast of smooth sensuality. Olivia realized he was putting it on her, that it was for her to decide on the next step. It was a daring decision, one she still was nervous to take. She knew Nate was waiting for her to say yes, that she wanted to screw it all and be with him. Olivia knew what she needed to do. What’s life without taking a chance, right?

The next move in the game was hers to take.

Turning around was her answer, because Nate said, “Nate-4, Olivia-0.” Then he smirked and she shoved her mouth onto his.

Nate’s calloused hands slid down her backside and over her hips, his fingers leaving a trail of heat she felt down to her core. Growling, Nate thrust his hips into hers, his hard erection strained against her belly. His hands traveled down to the back of her thighs and he squeezed.

“Hold on, darlin’,” he ordered against her mouth and picked her up, placing her on the edge of the counter. He moved between her legs so that their sex aligned perfectly. Olivia sighed, wrapping her legs around Nate’s waist and locking her ankles in a tight hold.

Olivia’s body was on fire and trembling with need. Nate’s hands didn’t stop moving over her, working her into a frenzy of desire. Their tongues moved, biting and nipping, sucking and stroking until they were panting and struggling to breathe.

“Nate,” she whimpered.

“What do you want? Tell me,” he replied in between kisses.

“Please, Nate… Please…” she trailed off, silently wishing he could read her mind. Nate broke the kiss and grabbed her face between his hands. He looked straight into her eyes and said with a firm, deep drawl, “What do you want, Liv? You have to say it, baby.”

Olivia’s breathing became more and more labored. What did she want? Did she even know?

As if he knew, Nate pushed forward and grinded against her hips. Olivia’s head drifted back from the pure erotic delight she felt. He swiftly moved his hand from her jaw to bring her upright.

“Say it,” he demanded.

Licking her lips, “You. I want you. Happy? You
know
I want you.”

A shit eating grin stretched over Nate’s handsome face and his eyes lit up with hunger. The need was there before, but it was as if a cloak unveiled his desire at her words. He was so incredibly sexy that her breath caught in her throat. Nate smashed his face down and kissed her deeply, consuming every inch of her mouth. He slid his hands under her ass, cupping her rounds to him as he thrust against her again.

“We need my bed. I’m going to make love to you for the first time, and it sure as hell won’t be against a wall or on a sink,” Nate said, breaking the contact to mutter against her lips. “I want to do it right.”

“Okay,” she breathed into him.

Olivia squeezed him with her legs while his rough fingers danced along the bottom of her ass. She felt herself grow wet even more from his touch and her belly flipped.

Shoving the door open, Nate brought Olivia into his dark room. She held onto him as he laid her gently onto the bed. The light from the hallway glowed into the room, casting a shadow across Nate’s scruffy face. Goodness. The emotion rolling through his eyes was so much for Olivia to handle.

Nate pulled back and stopped. His hands splayed across her stomach, sliding up and down her bare skin.

“What are you doing?” she asked breathlessly.

Shaking his head, he said, “Just looking at you. You’re so beautiful. Your lips are swollen from my mouth on them. I can’t wait to feel you… I just need to look first…”

Olivia puckered her lips together suddenly feeling self-conscious. She pulled her arms up to her chest and tried to close her legs.

“Don’t. I want to see your beauty. Take your shirt off for me,” he ordered.

Olivia contemplated for a moment then slid her feet down his jean covered hips to rest on the bed. She sat up to remove her shirt but left her lacey bra on as she looked to Nate waiting for her next order.

Locking eyes with Nate, he slowly skimmed his hands over her hips and to her heavy breasts where he palmed them. Where her eyes were slightly glossy from her emotions running rapid, Nate’s were burning with need. A dark, deep passion built inside that looked like it was ready to let loose at any given moment.

Nate kneaded her breasts, sliding his thumbs over her lacy covered nipples. Her breath hitched as he began to massage circles. Olivia’s eyes rolled shut and her legs quivered with desire.

“Open your eyes, Olivia. I want to see them,” he demanded.

Nate kissed her neck slowly, her head falling to the side to allow him access. She worked her hands into his hair and pressed into him with an arch of her back, her breasts pushing higher. Nate’s tongue scraped along her skin and lapped over her nipple, lingering as he wetted the spot as much as he could through the cloth.

Olivia sighed loudly in pleasure, her sex thrumming in pain as she leaned back onto the plush bed. Nate loomed over her as her legs opened wide, permitting him to lean down and press his body to rest onto hers. She rotated her hips into his and he reciprocated, feeling the delicious straining of his hardness. The rigid muscles on his back stood out against her fingers as she gripped his backside. Stopping to admire his taut chest, a smile danced across Olivia’s face.

“Like what you see?”

“I do,” she said huskily. “Very, very much.”

Slowly, but attentively, he slid the straps down her shoulders then removed her bra, freeing her heavy breasts. Her nipples puckered from the cool air for a split second until they relaxed. She watched as his mouth lifted up into a heart stopping grin. Leaning down, he wrapped his tongue around her nipple and tugged hard with his lips, his tongue swirling around the hardened flesh. Olivia groaned from the sensations speeding through her body as he showed her other nipple the same treatment.

“Please…” she whimpered.

“What, honey? What do you want?” he groaned, pushing his dick into her again. Olivia’s hips rose at the feel of him and said low, “You. I want you. Now.”

“Liv…”

“Nathaniel…I
want
you, please,” she begged, not even realizing she hadn’t abbreviated his name.

At the sound of her request, Nate yanked as hard as he could until her denim shorts and panties were pulled off. He threw them over his shoulder, hitting the carpet with a soft thud then removed his pants.

“Yes…” he managed through a guttural moan and stroked her wet slit with a brush of his fingers. He manipulated her sex, massaging it and adding slight pressure, causing her back to arch off the bed. Olivia was ready to combust at the touch of his skilled fingers.

“Nate…” she groaned. “Just stop playing with me and take me already,” she begged.

A deep rumble of laughter escaped Nate. “Gladly.”

“I can’t hold out much longer,” she sighed, rolling her hips. Nate removed his jeans and boxers just in time as Olivia reached to stroke cock. Her hand worked him good. He sheathed himself quickly then positioned himself at her entrance.

“Please, Nate. If you don’t get in me soon, I’m going to come before it even gets started.”

He laughed, finally pushing into her. “Not gonna happen on my watch. Don’t worry, honey. I’ll take care of you the right way.”

Fisting the sheets in her hands, a slight burning sensation tore through her. It had been some time since she had sex. Nate pulled out then surged back in, hitting deep and holding there. He leaned down, crushing her and kissed her hard.

Nate pulled out and then rushed back in. He developed a steady rhythm that was climbing on the inside. Olivia grabbed hold of his bare back and held on tight as their hips met. Their mouths parted and they panted into each other.

“God, you are a stunning woman,” he stated. “Your body beneath mine as I glide in and out… What you’re making me feel right now, Liv. Your heat wrapped around my dick. Fuck,” he groaned and captured her mouth once again with his.

“I want to hear you, Liv. Let me hear you.”

“More what?” he asked prominently, pumping into her.

“More, Nate, please…”

“Come on baby, let me hear you… Tell me how you want me,” he demanded.
