“Much better than what?” Her eyelids were
heavy and she decided there was no harm in closing them for a
minute.

“Then how you smelled before we started
fucking. I know something bothered you.”

It hardly seemed to matter now. She sighed,
pure contentment smelling better than anything she’d ever breathed
in.

“It was something that was said while we were
eating with the others.”

“What was that?”

“My sire had to have left Malta before the
fires burned out that pack,” she told him. Her words sounded as
lazy as she felt. “This pack lived there when the island burned.
I’m twenty-five years old and these werewolves aren’t old enough to
have been here my entire life.”

“Interesting.”

“Maybe I just assumed he left when the pack
was burned off the island. He just seemed to know so much about
it.”

If Ayden howled anything else Magda didn’t
hear it. She slipped into a sleep that was full of peace and love,
knowing this was how it would be for the rest of her life.

Some authors write a note to their readers at
the beginning of books. I thought if I wrote this after the story
ended, I wouldn’t unintentionally say anything that would sway your
opinion of the book. If you’re like me, I enjoy reading a book
without the opinions of so many others about the story already in
my head.

First let me say, I really hope you liked
Ayden and Magda’s story. When I first envisioned these three
littermates if you will, Magda, Liesa and Katrin, I knew each of
them would have a different take of their life while still living
on their mountain, and how they would find happiness after they
started their new lives. These three left their mountain that had
been filled with love, with no discrimination or prejudice, and
entered a world where they were hated on sight. They had some
understanding of Malta werewolves being despised outside their
home, but not the full comprehension of it. I hope you saw how
strong, how determined Magda was in creating a life for herself
that she felt she deserved. She also deserved Ayden. And what a
lucky werewolf she was to get him!

With that said, I’m not writing this note to
analyze our hero and heroine. You’ll walk away with your own
opinion of them, which is how it should be. I want to tell you
about some of the minor characters in this book.

This is a world I have been involved with for
years. At the beginning of the book we meet Ayden and Anthony
Toubec. If you haven’t already, check out
IN HER NATURE
and
you’ll meet Rock Toubec, who is a relative that once was part of
Ayden and Anthony’s pack.

There is brief mention of leopards and owls
in this book. Check out the
LEOPARD VISION
series and the
RAPTOR
series. You can read about each species and their
pack and parliament that live alongside the werewolves in Banff and
surrounding mountains.

When we reach the Malta werewolf pack in the
Colorado Rockies, you briefly get to meet several couples. You can
read about how each of them met and fell in love in the
WEREWOLVES OF MALTA

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:

All my life, I’ve wondered at how
people fall into the routines of life. The paths we travel seem to
be well-trodden by society. We go to school, fall in love, find a
line of work (and hope and pray it is one we like), have children
and do our best to mold them into good people who will travel the
same path. This is the path so commonly referred to as the “real
world”

The characters in my books are
destined to stray down a different path than the one society
suggests. Each story leads the reader into a world altered slightly
from the one they know. For me, this is what good fiction is about,
