She swept the tip of her tongue into Tennyson's mouth and deepened their kiss as she slipped a hand between them to grasp his cock. "I-I," she stuttered. "I'm clean. I'm clean, but I'm not on the pill." She swallowed. "We should use a condom."

"Fuck," he gritted out. He grabbed her jaw and searched her eyes. "What if I don’t want to?" He pushed the head of his cock through her arousal, coating himself,
needing
to be inside. "What if I want to fuck you into next week and fill you with my come and create another life with you?"

Sophie stared at him, slack-jawed.

"A little brother or sister for Kayden," he whispered as he kissed her softly. "I want it. I want it with you."

She shivered violently, and a few seconds later, she nodded slowly. "Okay," she breathed out. "Yes. Okay."

He slammed forward and buried himself to the hilt. "Oh God…" His head swam with lust. He was dizzy and drowsy with it. "I'll need you all the time."

"Me, too. Fuck, me too." Sophie clawing at him and begging for more cleared the haze, and he remembered exactly what kind of sex she liked. He remembered the red marks she'd drawn with her fingernails on her own chest the first time he went down on her. He remembered their time in Texas, how wild they'd been.

He held her in place as he fucked her. His other hand had a firm grip on her ass, and he felt them smack up against the mirror every time he rammed into her.

"Yes, yes, yes," she moaned.

Wanting to see his own marks on her, he slowly dragged his hand down her chest, his blunt nails creating the faintest lines.

"Fucking gorgeous." He needed to see more of her, feel more. He'd gone without for too long. "Let me fuck you from behind." He gave her a deep kiss before he helped her down. "You need a few more inches."

She giggled. "Yours are more than a few."

He chuckled and pointed to the shelves of shoes. They'd fucked in a shower once, and it had been almost impossible because she was so short.

She got the drift and quickly snatched up a pair of black heels, slipping her feet into them.

Tennyson groaned lustfully and squeezed his slicked-up cock. "Hands on the mirror." While she complied and pushed her juicy little ass out for him, he yanked his T-shirt over his head and threw it somewhere behind him. Then he walked up behind her and gave her ass a smack.

"Oh…" Sophie moaned, and he watched her in the mirror. How she bit her lip, how she closed her eyes. "Is Daddy in charge again?"

He'd never seen anything sexier. "Isn't he always?"

She nodded quickly.

Wanting to see more of her reactions to what he did to her, he got down on his knees behind her and licked the length of her pussy. At that, she gasped and pushed out her ass some more.

Fucking hell, he'd missed eating her out. "Don’t hide your face from me, princess." He angled her slightly to the side so he could lick her and watch her face in the mirror at the same time.

"I love how commanding you are," she admitted breathily as she pushed back her long hair over her shoulder. In response, Tennyson squeezed her ass roughly and sucked on the smooth lips of her pussy. "Oh my God, yes."

"You bring it out of me." He circled her hole with his tongue, then dipped it inside.

The taste of her pussy made him harder than steel, and he closed his eyes to savor every drop she gave him. She seemed to love it when his beard rasped against her thighs and sensitive flesh.

But every now and then, he eased away to finger-fuck her and drink in the sight of her flushed expression, her lip-biting, and the way her fingers tried to dig into the glass.

When he noticed her getting close, he placed a last kiss over her clit before standing up. "You want my cock filling you up?" He jacked himself slowly and rubbed the head through her wetness. "You want me to empty myself deep inside this beautiful little cunt?"

"You know I do," she mewled. "
Please
."

He answered by gripping her hips and shoving his cock inside her. For a beat, the pleasure was almost too much and he fell forward, burying his nose in her hair.

"You feel so fucking perfect around me," he whispered. He drew out and pushed in again, lifting his gaze to watch her. "We can't be over." He swallowed hard and cupped her pussy, teasing her with two fingers. "We'll never be over, Sophie."

Her eyes flashed to his, and they stared at each other in the mirror while he fucked them closer to orgasm. She had to realize this wasn’t fleeting. Their bond was too damn strong, and nobody knew him like she did. Nobody knew her like he did, either. No goddamn question.

He was so fucking in love with her.

Sophie whimpered and her eyes fell closed.

He felt her shaking, her pussy tightening.

"Now," she managed to choke out.

He redoubled his efforts and rubbed her clit firmly, and it didn’t take many seconds before his own orgasm surged through him.

"Fuck." He rocked into her. His forehead hit her shoulder, and he shuddered as he spilled into her. "Fuck,
fuck
." As soon as Sophie began squirming, he removed his hand from her pussy, but he stayed close and held her tightly.

He'd imagined being with her again countless times, usually in his morning shower or before he went to bed at night, but nothing came close to reality.

"You okay?" He kissed her shoulder and pulled out, yanking up his boxer briefs and sweats.

"After that?" She let out a shaky laugh and kicked off her heels. "
Okay
doesn’t really cover it." He grinned and drew her close again, and she hummed. "Spend the night with me in my bed."

"Of course." If it were up to him, he'd always sleep in the master bedroom from now on. He'd have to talk to her tomorrow—about everything—because he had a feeling there was a lot on her mind.

It hadn't escaped his notice that she hadn't replied when he'd told her they couldn’t be over.

Chapter 17

Sophie woke up the next morning to the sound of a buzzing phone. Lifting her head, she spotted Tennyson's phone on her nightstand, but before she could wake him up, the phone went silent.

It had to be early, considering Kayden hadn't woken them up yet, so she placed her head on the pillow again and closed her eyes. Though, they didn’t stay closed for long. As if she had to remind herself that Tennyson was actually here—that he'd spent the night with her—her gaze landed on the man next to her.

She didn’t know what she preferred—falling asleep with him or waking up with him.

Could this be real?

Her entire being was strung tight with hope and longing.

He was her safe port. But they had so much to discuss first, and it had probably been reckless to go without protection last night. She hadn't been able to say no, and Tennyson saying he wanted more—another child—had broken her resolve.

She'd already been raw inside and out after reading the printouts he'd given her. God, all the comments… She fucking
loved
being too boring for regular gossip, and now she had
followers
. People who looked up to her. People who supported her, wore clothes she'd been seen in, and defended her.

It was an incredible cushion to land on, and it made her relax.

It opened up a world of possibilities, too. She no longer had to hide.

Just thinking about it made her eyes water.

Life was still confusing, but right now she was damn giddy. And she wanted to share it with the man next to her. She owed Tennyson a lot, and breakfast in bed was a good start to show her appreciation, right?

Leaving the bed, she pulled on a pair of yoga pants and one of his T-shirts—

"Where do you think you're going?"

She turned with a hand on the doorknob and saw him watching her sleepily, his head half buried in the pillow. The muscles of his back were on display, the sheet riding low on his hips.

Yum.

"I was thinking breakfast." She grinned.

He hummed and rolled over, stretching lazily. There was some impressive morning wood going on underneath the sheets. "My idea of a good breakfast is if you come over here and sit on my face." Sophie spaced out and clenched her thighs together. "Come on, princess." He patted the bed. "I think a good tongue-fucking is in order."

"Jesus." Her knees got weak. But before she could obey him, there was a knock on the front door.

"Who the hell is here at this hour?" Tennyson frowned.

Sophie sighed, the lust fog clearing.
Shame.
"I'll check. You can check your phone. It rang earlier."

She padded out of the room and pulled her hair back into a sloppy ponytail. Maybe it was Noah needing food they rarely had in their own fridge. It happened often enough. But when she opened the door, she froze and it sure as fuck wasn’t Noah.

It was her dad.

He looked…awful. He was wearing a tux—of all things—but it was wrinkled, disheveled, and what looked like red wine had been spilled on his shirt.

Sophie's immediate reaction was to slam the door in his face, but when she tried, he jolted forward and kept her from closing it.

"Please hear me out, Sophie." His tired eyes pleaded with her.

That was new. She didn’t know what to do about this new version of him. Her heart was hammering in her chest, and she was pretty sure she was in shock. But no matter what, she didn’t wanna see him.

"How did you get into the building? Who buzzed you in?" She glared furiously at him. Unless he had a key, a tenant had to have let him in, which enraged her.

"A man left when I got here," he explained. There was a rasp in his voice, as if he'd been sick or had had too much whiskey. "I told him I was your father."

It didn’t matter. "I don’t want you here. Please leave."

She refused to break down in front of him.

The sound of the elevator reaching their floor distracted her enough to make her glance over, and the day only got better. Daniel stepped out with a bouquet of flowers, reminding Sophie of everything that had happened yesterday. Tennyson had taken his anger out on Daniel, which she didn’t think was right.

Daniel's eyes were filled with remorse, though there was something else, too. But it all morphed into disbelief and fury when he spotted Dad. Or Peter. Fuck.

"What's this asshole doing here?" Daniel asked angrily.

"He got lost," Sophie gritted out. "Dad, you're leaving—right fucking now."

"I'm not going anywhere," he replied. "I need you to hear me out."

"Sophie!" she heard Tennyson call.

"Oh my God," she groaned. It was getting to be too much.

"Want me to escort him out?" Daniel appeared more than ready to. He handed over the flowers to her. "We have a lot to talk about. I'm here to grovel until you forgive me, and then I'm taking you to your physical."

"What?" she gasped. An emergency physical could only mean one thing.

Daniel nodded firmly. "The part's yours. They wanna fly you out today."

"Baby?" It was Tennyson again, and this time his voice was coming closer. Sophie ignored Daniel's eyebrow lift at
baby
. "Just spoke to Asher.
A Killer's Walk
has been green-lit, and…" The rest of the words died out as he came into view and saw who was here.

Sophie wanted to scream.

Tennyson looked ready to kill her father.

Her brain was a jumbled mess, and she didn’t know where to start. Holy fuck, ten minutes ago, she'd been ready for another magical round between the sheets with the man who may or may not be hers now. She had
no
fucking clue.

"We'll never be over,"
he'd told her.

She wanted to run into his arms right now and let him take care of everything. She wanted to rest her godforsaken wings that he always wanted her to spread. She didn’t wanna be pushed away. She was sick of flying. She wanted a goddamn piggyback ride.

But that wasn’t how life worked, was it? Even if she gave her heart to Tennyson, he would keep encouraging her to be out there, and she was eventually going to fail and crash. She could feel it.

"
Under the Scars
," she said, clearing her throat. She set the flowers down on the hallway table. "They want me on set in Toronto. Today."

Countless reactions flitted across his face, and she saw everything from disappointment and surprise to happiness and determination. Then he nodded firmly, just a dip of his chin, before turning to Dad again.

"Peter, you're not welcome here," he told him.

Dad slid his stare to Sophie, debating internally. Defeat took over, and he slipped a crumpled envelope from his inner pocket. "Please read this, pumpkin. It's the last thing I'll ever ask of you."

She swallowed and snatched the letter from him. "Fine. You can go now." She hated him. She hated him for making her feel anything other than resentment toward him. It wasn’t fair. No amount of depression or unkempt hair or grief-stricken eyes could erase what he'd done to her.

Dad nodded and looked down as he left, hands in his pockets, shoulders slumped.

Her eyes burned, as did the letter in her hand. Eventually, she dropped it and palmed her face. She tried to gather her thoughts, which was fucking hard. Okay, so Dad was out. What was next?

"Daniel, thank you for the flowers, but you have nothing to apologi—"

"Yes, I do," Daniel insisted.

"Actually, I was too hard on you." Tennyson sighed. "I wish you'd taken a different approach, but you did what you thought was best for Sophie."

"It
was
what was best for me," Sophie said irritably. "You don’t get to decide that."

Tennyson nodded. "So even though it traumatized you, it was a good thing. Noted." Sarcastic bastard.

"Traumatized." She rolled her eyes. "You're exaggerating."

"Should I leave you two alone, or…?" Daniel's forehead creased as he glanced between her and Tennyson.

"No, Sophie needs to pack, and I need coffee." Tennyson headed for the kitchen, jaw clenched.

"Pushing me away already?" She laughed humorlessly. "Why am I not surprised!" She stalked away, seething and trying not to feel rejected, and aimed straight for her closet.

"What the hell is that supposed to mean?" Tennyson called after her.

"Nothing!" She tore out her selection of luggage and started throwing clothes into two large bags.

Holy hell, her head wouldn’t stop spinning. She realized she hadn't asked about
A Killer's Walk
. If that project had been green-lit now, it meant Tennyson's entire schedule for the summer had changed.

Fuuuck.

She threw in another pair of pants and then left the bedroom to meet up with Tennyson in the kitchen. "Where's Daniel?"

"Kayden woke up," he muttered, his back to her. "Daniel's helping him."

All right.
Sophie clicked her fingernails along the counter, waiting for him to be ready with the coffee. "We need to discuss our schedule."

He nodded and switched on the coffee maker before turning around. "How prepared are you? For the film, I mean. Script, training, fittings."

"Not at all. I know from before there will be rehearsals, so I'll jump in after that. They're dyeing my hair, too." Sophie closed her eyes and rubbed her temples. "I'll probably be working around the clock the first few weeks to catch up. The first storyline is about to wrap, and then they're ready to head over to Germany. I'll have two months with my unit." She opened her eyes and walked over to the cabinet above the microwave. She always kept a stash of painkillers there, and her head was fucking pounding now. "When do you think you'll start filming?" She chased down an Advil with some water.

"Few months, I suppose." Tennyson rubbed his bearded jaw absently, deep in thought. "Ash and I are both producing, so I'll have some freedom, but it's a studio project with deadlines nonetheless. If you're still interested in the part of the sister, I'll try to schedule those location shots as late as possible."

Sophie frowned. "Of course I'm interested. Why wouldn’t I be?" Then she shook her head, beyond frustrated. "Tennyson…" She sighed. "What're we doing?"

"You tell me." He gave her a hard stare. "Since when do I ever push you away?"

Since always
, she wanted to say, but Daniel chose that moment to appear with Kayden.

"If anything, you're the one who refuses to let me be there for you," Tennyson whispered. "You always have to do everything on your own."

Sophie gaped at him before forcing a smile onto her face for Kayden's sake. What the fuck did Tennyson mean by
that
?

"Hi, baby!" She accepted Kayden into her arms and kissed his chubby cheeks. "Did you sleep well?"

He nodded. "M'hungwy."

"Of course. Let's get you some breakfast." She sat him down in his chair and then flitted around to prepare his oatmeal with milk and diced fruit. "Daniel, please fill me in. Tennyson and I are trying to come up with a schedule for Kayden."

"Sure. Thanks." He accepted a cup of coffee from Tennyson. "I don’t think you'll have a lot of time off, darling. I spoke to the director on the way over, and they have two sets waiting to be torn down, but there are three scenes you're in using those sets. I suspect you'll be on camera as soon as you've gone through the fitting and dyed your hair."

"Jesus," Sophie mumbled. "Are they emotional scenes? I need to get into it before I can bawl my eyes out."

"No, they're flashback scenes of your brothers saying they'll be back soon," Daniel replied. "You're worried, but you have faith in them."

"Got it." Sophie stirred the pot on the stove. "So the rehearsals will be after that?"

"Exactly. They just need to get those two scenes out of the way so they can construct the next set."

Okay, and then she'd be busy catching up with the second storyline of the movie, in which she was the lead. It was Sophie and half a dozen children hiding from the Nazis. They'd go from building to building, seeking shelter while the war raged all around them.

"We'll have to call Angela," she told Tennyson quietly. It was the only option. If he would be busy here and Sophie in Toronto, Kayden had to travel with his nanny.

"How often will you have him, Sophie?" Daniel asked.

"Not as much as I'd like," she murmured. "It's not fair to Kayden, have him traveling back and forth because of me. I'll have him a couple weekends, but this will be my last project before I slow down."

She was ready to only pick scripts she was really passionate about. Her agent had already told her she was well established and that she didn’t have to worry about being forgotten anymore.

"Are you rewriting anything on
A Killer's Walk
?" she asked Tennyson.

"Minor details. I'll send you a copy once it's done, and I'll let Ash and the studio know we have the sister." He assisted her and started slicing a banana for Kayden. "Daniel, do you think she'll have any free time in between Toronto and Germany?"
