The Four Primary EMT Applications

1.
EMT Vital Organ Testing
(Long Form Chart) represents the first of the primary Whole Health energy assessment techniques. This procedure enables the practitioner to diagnose a subject's body, brain, mind, emotions, and spirit energies. In order to get started, practitioners will need the three-page EMT Long Form (Appendix B). The first part is designed for body, the second part for brain, and the third part for mind assessment.

The upper half of page one lists the five pairs of vital organs. The vital organs listed here represent the Five Elements organ systems of classical Chinese medicine. The lower half lists the primary glands. These worksheets were specifically designed to enable the Whole Health practitioner to record the subject's energy responses. Let's get started.

Practitioners must begin by pass/fail testing the subject's vital organs in sequence as they appear on the EMT chart. The liver should be tested first, followed by gallbladder, heart, small intestine, and so on. Practitioners must follow the pass/fail testing technique for the vital organs and glands. It is a simple procedure. Practitioners simply apply light pressure with the left hand to the subject's organ zone being tested. Advanced practitioners can either just call out, or merely think about the organ area being tested as they pulse the strength of the subject's test arm with their dominant hand. The light pulsing of the subject's arm strength as the corresponding organ zones are being depressed should proceed through a count of ten. In other words, if pressure is applied to the organ point and the test arm is weak or strong, you'll need to pulse exactly how weak or strong it is, plus/minus 1 to 10.

If the test arm weakens and drops after a count of one, two, three, or four tugs, then the organ should be considered to be only slightly energized. If the test arm weakens and drops at a pulse count of four, five, or six, then it is only moderately strong. If the arm drops after seven, eight, or nine pulses, organ energy is sufficiently strong. If it pulses to a count of ten, it is perfectly balanced. Excess organ strength (inflammation) is measured by pulse counts that exceed ten, to a count of twenty or higher. EMT vital organ testing requires both a complete pass/fail and a pulse test assessment, which must be checked, double-checked, and properly recorded on the EMT Long Form Chart (see Appendix B).

2.
Root Reference Testing
—Next, the organ root reference must be established. This assists the practitioner in finding out whether the root cause of the organ/gland imbalance is due to diet, mental, emotional, chemical, or structural problems. Remember, this is not a system that ascribes to treating symptoms. Whole Health emphasizes the importance of tracing back to the roots of all disease patterns. This enables a practitioner to more effectively and safely treat the subject. Treating the symptoms and not the root is one of the main reasons for serious medical side effects.

A dietary root, of course, suggests that whatever the subject's symptoms are, they are best addressed at the nutritional level. Mental roots represent more of a stress-related patterning. Where organ imbalances are found, there may need to be recommendations for neuroplasticity exercises, meditation, yoga, T'ai Chi, Bach flower remedies, or classic homeopathy. An emotional root also tends to represent stress-related patterning, and issues related to the spirit. The Shen Clearing exercise in chapter 8 may be necessary for the subject to clear out old emotional blockages that are deeply rooted sources of energy imbalances. If a chemical root is established, it represents exposures to toxic substances such as pesticides, mercury amalgams, drugs, household chemicals, and so on. This diagnostic discovery may require some form of detoxification or chelation. Finally, structural imbalance resulting from past physical traumas, accidents, or sports injuries are also common roots practitioners may discover.

At the bottom of page 303 additional diagnostic markers for bacteria, staph, mold, strep, cranial yeast, sacral yeast, infectious virus, retrovirus, and a gland/organ root reference. Each of these markers should also be pass/fail and pulse tested to give the practitioner a greater depth of immunological information about the subject.

The second part (EMT Brain Assessment) is broken down
into four brain systems: cerebral cortex, limbic system, cerebellum, and brain stem. Each of these sections is briefly defined so as to provide both practitioner and subject with some referencing for their energy testing. Once again, if a failed muscle test is recorded, the corresponding brain assessment should be crossed out. Next, a pulse test will either be noted with a specific minus/plus 1–10 score, which may be entered on the corresponding blank space to the right-hand side of the page.

Finally, the chart presents practitioner and subject with a Mind Assessment part. There are four state of mind categories listed here: conscious (alert), unconscious (trance), metaconscious (higher), and superconscious (highest) mind. The same exact test procedures are to be followed for mind as for body and brain assessment—pass/fail and pulse testing, with plus/minus 1–10 scores recorded in the blank spaces on the right.

Vial Testing

3.
Food Vial Allergy Testing
—The Food Vial Allergy Testing technique employs homeopathic food testing vials. Actual foods may be used for food muscle testing, but the homeopathic vials are much more convenient and efficient. This simple pass/fail approach to food allergy testing represents the very first muscle testing procedure I performed decades ago. In fact, I first started with real whole foods. There was a supermarket directly across the street from the medical center where I worked. So when patients called to schedule their initial work-ups, I suggested they purchase their groceries across the street just prior to our meeting. That way, I could muscle test them for exactly those foods they were most accustomed to eating. Then I was introduced to homeopathic food vials. They were initially used for Vega machine testing, a mechanical system whereby patients could be electronically tested while holding drops from the foods vials under the tongue. I remember thinking how silly that was. People were largely unaware back then as to the ways of energy and energy fields. I was pretty clear, due to my energy
awareness, about the fact that the homeopathic food vials produced a very active field and would need only to be held close to the subject to elicit a viable pass/fail energy result. The vials I recommend are made by Apex Energetics in Irvine, California. These little glass vials (kits 1 and 2) contain homeopathic dilutions of hundreds of common foods, and these diluted foods emit a field of highly active energy. In fact, the more diluted their material properties, the more powerful their energy. I can hear your thoughts as you read this. “The more diluted the material properties in these vials, the more powerful their energy?” Just try thinking of the relationship between energy and matter as creating a drawstring-like effect. As matter is diminished, energy increases, and vice versa. Moreover, we must remember that energy is not bound by material restriction. Sound waves in the next room are audible right through the wall. Similarly, the
field emitted from the food vials projects outside the glass when held next to the field of a human being. You will get a reaction! Let's move on with the testing.

Assuming you and your partner are back in test position, you merely have to repeat the tuning procedure. Then grab a food vial and hold it close to your partner (see Figure 4.5). I suggest you hold the food vials next to wherever the patient's “pain point” is. For instance, if the patient has a history of headaches, ask them to point out exactly where their headaches tend to occur. That is what I call their “pain point.” Depending on the subject, their pain point may be their stomach, an inflamed shoulder, or whatever else is ailing them.

As with tuning, the food vial exposures will produce both positive and negative strength results. When a problem food is held close to your partner's arm, the arm will weaken and easily drop to their side with a light tug. Before beginning actual pass/fail vial testing, make sure you ask your partner to check off a food list of only those foods they eat and enjoy the most. There is no point in testing them for foods they don't eat or like. Take your time and test as many foods as they are willing to. Make sure you date and record your results.

4.
EMT Food Allergy Testing
—Now that you've assessed body, mind, and spirit balance and performed food vial allergy testing, it's time for EMT food and supplement testing. Unlike food vial allergy testing, EMT food allergy testing is a sixth-sensory body/mind technique. I always remind people that your energy field will respond to the energy field of whole foods, homeopathic foods in vials, or even just the mention of foods. Remember, your body/mind responds to virtually all stimuli, so don't be afraid to get very specific when articulating your questions. The body/mind will also respond to any questions regarding amount, dose, frequency, and duration. Make sure you have your EMT Food Chart nearby (Appendix C). Now, assuming you and your
subject are in proper position, the tester simply calls out each food in sequence, one at a time, and tries to depress the subject's arm as each food is called out. If the arm goes down while calling out a certain food, you should cross it off the food list. That food should be avoided until it is retested in four to six weeks.

I am often asked how it's possible to be tested for food allergies without physical exposure to foods. Perhaps a little more information might prove helpful. As discussed in earlier chapters, EMT is an energy diagnostic system. In order to fully appreciate EMT as a food-testing medium, we must consider some fundamental properties of energy. As previously discussed, all things, including you and me, are comprised of energy. All energy is made up of atoms and particles. Atoms and particles vibrate, producing an electromagnetic field. Therefore you and I, the thoughts we think (intuitive and logical), and the foods we eat all produce a vibrating electromagnetic (energetic) field. Humans emit 0.025 volts of electricity and 100 watts of radiation in the infrared spectrum. Therefore, we constantly emit ever-changing energy that influences and is influenced by all other energies. Your energy changes when you don't sleep, hug a friend, write a check, catch the flu, dream a dream, think a thought, or eat a food. Furthermore, every dream, friend, virus, or food emits its own unique field of ever-changing energy. So, in the energy domain, fields are constantly interacting with and influencing one other, ad infinitum. While you may not be immediately aware of it, your energy field reacts positively or negatively whenever you eat a food. Your energy field reacts even when a food is in your hand, near your body, or in your mind! By simply closing your eyes and picturing a food in your mind, you will produce a reaction in your energy field. Like all energetic reactions, it will be either a positive or a negative reaction. The reaction may be too subtle for you to notice on the spot, but it is a reaction
that greatly influences your degree of overall wellness. EMT allows us to pinpoint positive and negative food reactions at an energetic level, with the unconscious mind. Let's walk you through a test.

First, you and your partner must assume the proper position. Then simply call out the names of foods one at a time as you gently tug on your partner's wrist. Take the time to carefully assess the reaction to each separate food. Remember, simply calling out the words
apple, broccoli,
or
wheat
produces an energetic response in you and your partner. It's merely a different form of tuning test. It's a simple procedure, but keep in mind there's a lot going on here. Your thoughts about the food mentioned emit an electromagnetic field. After all, thoughts are things! Both you and your partner produce an electromagnetic response to any given stimulus in your intuitive unconscious mind that passes to the brain, the nervous system, and the muscles. Both you and your partner have in essence become active biofeedback systems. With a good rapport, you should be able to test dozens of food responses in a matter of mere minutes.
