Grasping the remote, Jonathan aimed it toward the black box on the shelf pressing the bottom and soft music filled the air. Resting his head on the back of the sofa, he let his legs fall open closing his eyes. What the hell was he doing? Kenya’s distant attitude told him he’d lost her. Folding his arms behind his head he tipped fingers touching the wall, and sank into the cushions.

“Can I sit down?” Kenya’s voice was barely audible.

“Whatever makes you happy, Kenya.”

Warm hands pressed along his chest, sending his heart pounding under his skin. He peered under lowered lashes eyeing this woman curling into his body. Brows raised, Jonathan said nothing as she looped her arm around his back caressing his ribs, tucking her feet beneath her hips.

“I can't come between you and your family, Jonathan.”

Dropping an arm, he curled her in tighter to his side, stroking it around her shoulder. He craned his head up at her words. “Why would you think that?” Her warm breath penetrated his dress shirt under her heavy sigh; the urge to lift her over his lap and carry her to bed filled him. Yet above all, they had a friendship to salvage.

Kenya tucked herself under his arm and he gave her room to get comfortable. Staring at the ceiling, she sank into his side. “Fiona’s reaction to me each time I came around…I can just imagine the rest of the family if I were to show up on your arm. They’d freak out.”

“You’re basing our relationship on Fiona’s opinion. Does it matter I want you in my life?”

“It means everything,” she admitted and her words surprised him.

He chewed his bottom lip. “Mm hm…You think they’ll freak out?”

“A feeling…”

“A feeling?” He shot up, twisted to face her and pinned her to the sofa on her back. Wedging his body between her thighs, her dress pushed up her hips. He got in close enough to feel the moisture pooling in her panties. He rested an arm beside her face, her head cradled in the sofa cushions as it dipped under his weight. “There’s not an ounce of fear in your eyes and I just shoved you down. Why does Fiona’s bark scare you more?”

Kenya rolled her eyes. “Oh please. I could care less about some woman barking at me. I nearly pimp slapped her in the woods when she came at us by the tree.” She wiggled under him and he closed his eyes to the heat caressing him beneath her panties. “It’s obvious you love your family or you would’ve strangled Fiona. I respect that…a lot. I can’t come between a man and his family. I can also see those farmers that are being stolen from are more than just renters to you. They’re most likely friends to your family by now. I’ll just be an outsider,” Kenya confessed touching his face giving him a half-hearted smile. The woman was all heart.

Things made sense. Morgan’s blamed Kenya for their parent’s death all her life. Kenya is afraid she’ll come between him and his family.

“Come to Ireland with me,” he urged, smoothing a hand over her soft skin. “Help me with the accounts and we’ll go from there.”

As a friend Jonathan,” she needs to make that clear, “nothing more.”

He slipped his hand between them following the curves of her body. The heat from her core surrounded his hand over her sex. He flexed his fingers. “There’s no such thing as just friends between us, Kenya. Are you afraid to be my lover, or afraid of what it could lead to?”

"Afraid of how easily I accepted your explanation of the article in the paper,” she admitted under sad eyes.

“If you think I’m involved with organized crime, why did you follow me home? Why are you sitting here now?”

“Because I can’t deny what I saw in the mountains with you and the kids. And it just doesn’t add up to crime boss. I don’t know what’s going on, but you need my help.”

“I’ll take that.”

Unzipping the dress exposing her supple curves, he lifted her from the sofa. The material pooled around her hips and Jonathan braced both hands to her sides, easing the dress down her thighs dropping kisses along the backs of Kenya’s elbows until he reached her fingers. He sucked her middle finger into her mouth listening to her quiet moans as he lowered to the floor behind her. He’d never wanted a woman the way he had each time he glimpsed her body. He caught the sensual taunt of her lip trapped between her teeth and he bit one cheek then the other. Kenya jerked forward, bracing her hands down on the coffee table, her behind in the air like an offering. Twisting her hips, he bit her other cheek. She cried out as she grasped the edge of the table.

Her soft moans filled the air and it was all he could do to slow down. His trousers strained over his erection, tenting the material. He wanted all of her before he had his own pleasure.

He ran his hands over her curves, exploring, remembering every inch of his woman. The soft dip of her naval, the heavy weight of her breast, and every part of her he’d licked and tasted. Sweat beaded on his chest under his tank. The room became hotter with each moan from Kenya.

Standing before her, he sucked in a breath as she pushed the small buttons on his shirt through the holes. The blunt tip of her manicured nails scraped his skin, sending a spark of electricity across his chest.  He arched back against the delicious sensation tossing his head back as she bit his nipples through the white tank top. Sucking in a breath, he dropped his hand in defeat. The shirt hung from his shoulders as she pushed it open, rushing the cotton up to bite along his ribs, licking behind each taste. Shit he’d missed her lips on his skin, no hesitation in the hungry way she went after what she wanted. He held her head to his skin, enjoying every moist lick and nibble down his chest from her lips and teeth. If she made that slurping sound again he’d pin her spread eagle to the table and see what sounds she made. Cursing, stomach muscles clenching, he fisted her hair and dropped his head back.

“You still want me, babe?” He held his breath waiting to hear the status of their relationship.

“Let’s go to bed,” Kenya mouthed along his chest, tickling the hairs, her fingers cupping him through the trousers, making him draw up tight.

Surprised, he picked up the remote, plunged the penthouse in shadows but left the music playing. Light from the kitchen crisscrossed the floor. In bra and panties, Kenya trailed close behind him hand in hand.

They padded quietly down the carpeted floor to his bedroom... Kenya pressed to his back her free hand arms around his waist under his shirt, her fingers stroking the hairs on his chest. The soft music followed them down to the bedroom.

Inside, Jonathan hooked a finger in the waistband of the white satin panties and led Kenya across the room to the bed.

Kenya stumbled along biting her bottom lip, eyelids half closed.

“I need you as my friend, Kenya, but I want you as my lover. You are the peace in a world of turmoil. You are the light that overshadows the dark.” Jonathan’s fingers plunged deeper as Kenya’s moans echoed around the room. Feeling rejuvenated, he continued. “You keep me balance. You, my Kenya, will always be my woman.” Her body was on fire under his ministration.

“You know I won’t deny you my body. I never have,” she uttered behind a gasp. “It’s my heart I can’t just hand you. You’re a man with a world of people looking for you to do the right thing. I may not be the right thing.”

“Screw the right thing, Kenya. You’re my thing…Am I yours?” Not waiting for an answer, he reached behind her. Only one squeeze and the bra slipped down over her arms. Full, heavy breast jiggled under the soft light from the corner. Her breath caught. He swirled his finger in her slick fluid between her thighs, making Kenya’s breath catch under a soft hiss. “Am I who you want, Kenya?”

“Don’t complicate this…let’s…” She moaned, gripping his hands. “Stop talking,” she gulped out those words under a moan.

Her head fell forward to his chest, her hips following each dip of his hand. Her nails dug into his shoulder. He ducked his head, pulling one swollen breast into his mouth, tasting her sweet flavor. Scraping his teeth over the tender flesh he suckled until her leg wrapped around his thigh.

She gripped his shirt, groaning into his chest. “Jonathan…”

“I always take you hard and fast, raw and uncontrolled, but not today. Today it’s about your pleasure so you’ll remember what we had. Enjoy me, Kenya.” He teased one tight nipple, dragging his mouth over to temp the other, catching the jiggling flesh him bouncing from one to the other. Behind each lick, Kenya became more and more sensitive until all he had to do was breathe over her flesh and she writhed against him. That left his head reeling with a drunken lust for his woman.

Fingers thrusting deep, he cupped her behind as her climax hit. She bucked and slammed her hips over his hand until she collapsed against his chest. Breast heaving, she shuddered the last of the orgasm against his fist.

He did that. Her body convulsed from his hand and mouth. That gave him a pleasure he hadn’t expected. “That’s it, baby…let me know it feels good.” Gently, he eased his fingers from her heat, pleased by her soft intake of air. From over Kenya’s shoulder he licked out his tongue to his raised, slick finger positioning it to his lips for that first swipe across his tongue. The tangy sweet taste he craved he savored pressing his tongue to the roof of his mouth let it blossom around in his mouth. Eyes closed, he let her scent fill him, his arousal straining to be set free. Working the closure of his trousers, he shucked the material until it pooled around his ankles. His shirt followed fluttering to the floor.

“I miss you too…,” she breathed out squeezing her thighs together, biting her lip.

“You haven’t seen how much I’ve missed you yet. Hand me a pillow…no…the big one. Now turn over…lift your hips…higher!”

Chapter Two

Kenya kept her fingers threaded with Jonathan’s, him sitting beside her on the plane now pulling into a small landing strip in an open field. According to Jonathan, the estate sat on the western end of Ireland. So close to the beautiful sea, if not for the need to protect him, she'd loved to rent a boat and tour the beautiful Atlantic water before the ocean air became too cold to bear. How many times would she get to Ireland in a lifetime? She twisted, stretching over her man’s lap. The butter soft leather cushion dipped as she peered out through the window, his cologne teasing her body under her coat. Jonathan swept her hair behind her ear, kissed the tender lobe, a gentle caress.

Through the small window, she could see a black limo, guarded by three men in full black Johnny Cash minus the hat garb, filled her view.

For what, she wasn’t certain. However, after that little show from Brian, she had to warn Jonathan. She’d worried the man’s greed would get Jonathan killed, and as much as she wasn’t ready to admit it, he reminded her of the way her father handled business however he saw fit regardless of what others thought of him. That was her attraction to him, his caring nature.

“Why didn’t’t we land at the regional airport again?” she asked because this private strip gave her the willies.

“We’d still have to drive a great distance to get here and I’d rather get you into a room soon, let you get rested. I have a meeting tonight with shareholders and would love to take you swimming in the Inn’s pool later.” Jonathan squeezed her hand. She angled her face as he leaned in and kissed her cheek.

“I have to admit I’m looking forward to seeing Ireland and spending time with you.”

“We’ll walk the grounds tonight after dinner. Judge can stretch his legs down by the river where the salmon run.”

Exiting the aircraft, Kenya looked back and smiled. Compared to commercial planes, it was small yet huge by her experience with private planes, which was none. The ride had been as comfortable as riding in a large limo that could fly.

The cool night air greeted them as they emerged from the plane and climbed down the stairs.

“Jonathan decided to slum it with the rest of us.” A man with Jonathan’s build said. The big difference between the two was the other man’s hair was black as a crow’s breast, one of her father’s sayings. The guy resembled a Russian Czar only he was Irish. A goatee and those aluminum blue eyes like Jonathan’s. Kenya held her hand out as Jonathan introduced her to the man.

“Jamie Blakemore…this is my lady, Kenya Claiborne. Kenya, this is my cousin, Jamie Blakemore, Fiona’s brother.”Kenya caught the shared stares between the two men standing like redwood trees to either of her sides. Jonathan called her his lady, a title she hadn’t heard in years and didn’t’t know people still used it.

“Pleasure to meet you, Kenya,” he greeted. Kenya jutted her chin up seconds before Jamie’s large body engulfed her body.

She squeaked out a greeting, “Nice to meet you too.”

Hugging her, he reached past her and shook Jonathan’s hand. The slight tilt of Jamie’s head brushed over the shell of her ear then the sensation of Jonathan’s hand smoothing over her coat down her back and his low murmur said some sort of approval passed between them over her shoulder. “I see why you stay away for months at a time, cousin.” Leading Kenya away, he arched one thick brow in Jonathan’s direction. “This woman is exquisite. Keeping her away from Brian makes sense.” His rich and spicy cologne, wafted through the air around her. Stepping back into Jonathan’s arms, she held the other man’s flattering attention. He offered a polite stare that took her in from her shoes to her hair blowing around her cheek from the soft breeze. “Jamie is Brian’s youngest brother’s son.”

She glanced between the two men sharing the same family smile, then asked, “Does everyone live here or back in the states?”

“Most of the family is here in Ireland,” Jamie told her, escorting them to the black limousine.

Jonathan slid in, held his hand out for her to join him with Jamie on her other side.

Ducking her head, Kenya slid in beside Jonathan and tugged the hem of her dress across her knees after crossing her legs. She blushed when Jonathan closed the palm of his hand over her knee while keeping his attention out the window, watching the passing landscape. How did he know she’d crossed her legs?

“So, Kenya how did you meet my cousin? This one doesn’t notice most women.”
