Have I mentioned I love her yet?

I drink in the look of the classic college student, flip flops, jeans, black tank top and bag hanging from her shoulder.

Is it just me or are we matching?

“I thought you said it was legal.” Her eyebrows furrow as she stops on the sidewalk in front of where I'm parked.

Rotating my body, so my side is leaned on the passenger door, I smirk. “It is.”

“It is not.”

“It is.”

“It is not.”

“It is and I have the paperwork in the glove compartment to prove it.” When she opens her mouth to object I say, “Besides, you were there. You know this is legal.”

Red flashes on her face forcing her to come closer to me. In a hushed tone she demands, “Don't say that so loud.”

My arms curl around her waist as I lower my face to hers. “I just needed an excuse to get you over here. You were taking too long.”

Giggling Jovi's lips lightly touch mine. “Impatient.”

“Tease.”

The tip of her tongue touches my bottom lip before she says, “You love it.”

“I love you,” I declare and slip my tongue with hers. Expecting the kiss to be brief she pushes back once immediately preparing to pull back when my hand wraps around the back of her neck to keep her locked in place. Jovi melts the second my hand touches her there. Through a moan she grabs a fist full of my shirt. Before I know it, I'm rotating her to be pressed against the car door, knee propping up her buckling legs. Suddenly it feels like we're in a wordless race to consume the other.

What? Public...oh yeah...public.

Somehow I manage to drag my body off of hers and merely observe the way her chest is rapidly rising and falling. Her swollen lips. The flush color she gets as an orgasm builds. I groan, which seems to be encouragement for her hand to graze my cock.

Jovi's hand strokes the outside of my jeans again. “Tell me we are going somewhere to do something that involves this.”

Fuck. Me. What were my plans again?

She grins and repeats the motion priming my mind like an old canvas waiting for a new picture to be painted over it. Through hooded eyelids I try to enjoy the look of excitement and passion on her face knowing it feeds the hunger inside.

The urge for her to rub harder and faster grows. Just need a little more. Just a little more and I could fucking come in the parking lot.  I groan again. “Baby...”

“Yes?”

“I...I...I...”

“Shouldn't you two do that in a room where people can't see?” Hayli's voice interrupts.

Jovi snickers and removes her hand. Moving her body so her ass is pressed against my hard on, covering it from Hayli, I stifle another moan.

I could just bend her over and-

“Can you not think of sex with her while I'm standing here?” Hayli complains loudly.

I shrug.

“Oh you're....terrible Romeo,” the scolding eventually turns into a smile. “Did you come to take her home?”

Finally recalling exactly what it is I did come for, I answer, “I came to take her driving.”

“What?!” They snap at me in unison.

Did I say something wrong?

Hayli erupts into laughter to the point she's clutching her stomach. “You're gonna take her driving?”

“Why is that funny?” Jovi snips. “I can drive!”

“You can't drive,” Hayli argues between snickers.

My girlfriend folds her arms across her chest. “I have a driver's license.”

“So does my 88 year old grandmother and she can't drive either,” Hayli's chuckles finally start to die down.

“I resent that.”

“Doesn't make it less true,” Hayli sighs. “Jo', why do you think I insist we take a taxi if I know I'm going to be drinking?”

“Because we're both drinking.”

“You barely drink enough to lower your ability to name the last four presidents,” Hayli states.

Curious I ask, “You can name the last four presidents?”

She gives me a sarcastic look.

What? Can you?

Hayli continues, “You could easily be the designated driver every time, which isn't even that often by the way.”

“I...I drink a little,” Jovi shyly fights.

“My point is.” Hayli looks up at me. “There's a reason I call a taxi and it's not because my best friend is gonna get shit faced like me. It's because my best friend can't drive.”

“Then it's gonna be my pleasure to change that,” I stand up for her. The sentiment is rewarded with a kiss on the cheek.

Hayli shrugs before laughing again. “I'll pray for your soul, Romeo.”

She's really not that funny.

“You taking her out in your Camaro? Brave man.”

“No.” I nod my head towards the Audi. “The Audi.”

“You actually got papers filed for this thing?” Jovi asks.

“Yes ma'am. Which reminds me. Never do that shit again,” the tone in my voice goes hard. “I mean ever. I don't give a fuck if I'm about to lose both my kidneys. Do not bet yourself again. Okay?”

Sweetly she nods and Hayli questions, “So you're punishing the car?”

“I don't drive that bad!”

“Poor angel.” She rubs the side of it. “You don't deserve this.”

“Don't you have somewhere to be?” Jovi bites.

“Now that I don't have to take you home, I sure do,” she sighs before backing up the direction she came. “Text me later Jo'. Ya know...if you survive.”

Jovi gives her best friend the finger before turning back around to look at me. “I'm not that bad...”

Unsure if that's true or not I shrug. “We'll see. Hey, from now on why don't you let me pick you up from work?”

The sarcastic look on her face makes me wanna kiss it off. “And take me home?”

“If your father's not home, right to the front door.”

“And if he is?”

“Around the corner?”

She giggles at the suggestion before planting a hand on my cheek. “One thing at time. Driving?”

“Yeah.” I kiss her hand. “That first.”

After helping Jovi into the car, I drive us to an empty parking lot I've used for other things.

Don't judge.

Once Jovi is in the driver's seat and buckled, I calmly explain to her the basics. Throughout my instructions her face rotates through a number of emotions creating an anxiety in the pit of my stomach.

Fuck. I hope Hayli's wrong.

She successfully starts the car, but stalls on her first try. Knowing it happens to almost everyone I encourage her to try again. And again. And again. The whiplash I get from back and forth movements pales in comparison to the frustration I'm getting from calmly trying to explain to Jovi what is happening.

“That's what I'm doing!”

“That's not what you're doing!”

“It is!”

“If that's what you were doing we would be moving!” Frustrated I run my fingers down my face. On a deep breath I try again, “Relax. Take a deep breath. Vibe with the car Jovi. It's just like painting-”

“I can't paint remember!”

She can't drive either.

“But you know what I'm saying. A painter vibes with his art right? Before the brush ever takes a stroke on the canvas, they bond. They mold. Take a minute and do that.”

She rolls her eyes at me.

“Trust me,” I calmly insist.

“I do trust you!”

“Do you?”

“Yes!”

“Then listen to me. I know cars baby. Connect first.”

Jovi lets out an exasperated growl. Slowly she grips the wheel aggression still building. I reach over and let my hand cover hers. Her eyes drag themselves up to mine. Leaving them there she lets me guide her hand down the wheel, caressing the gorgeous machine. Finally the stress she was cradling starts to wither away and I remove my hand from hers placing a soft kiss where it was just lingering.

“Listen to her...”

Her eyes turn back to the wheel and she shuts them for a moment.  Jovi starts her up and finally gets us moving. “Oh my God! I did it! I did it! What do I do now?”

“Shift-” Barely makes it out of me before the gears start grinding, Jovi freaks out and we end up stopping again.

Now that she has a little more confidence she sits up prepared to try again. For the next twenty-five minutes she does her best to get passed third gear, but fails to the point I'm worried she might fuck it up beyond repair.

“Baby...” I whisper out after I declare she's done.

Jovi turns her head to face me. “Yeah?”

“Come here,” I demand scooting the seat all the way back. As soon as she's crawled into my lap, I plant one hand on her hip and use the other to push the hair out of her face. “You know I love you right?”

Sheepishly she says, “I do.”

“Good, because baby you can't drive.”

Jovi scoffs, “I can too.”

I shake my head. “Not a stick and my gut tells me you're probably hard on an automatic too.”

Pouting she folds her arms across her chest. “I am not.”

With a smile I sigh, “I'm not giving up on you yet. I'm gonna teach you to drive a stick if it kills me.”

And with the way she fucks up gears, it just might.

“Why?” Her fingers move to rub the back of my head, running her fingers through my hair. “Why is it so important to you that I learn to drive a stick?”

“Aside from it being sexy as shit?” She shakes her head with a giggle. “Because I would feel better knowing you can drive whatever, whenever, in emergency circumstances.”

“What kind of emergency? Getaway driver in a bank robbery?”

My hands stroke her sides. “Not funny.”

“A little funny.”

After she snickers I ask, “Vinnie's throwing a pool party this weekend. Interested?”

Wiggling her hips she playfully says, “I'll have to check with my other boyfriend.” I give her a swat on the ass, which makes her chuckle again. “Can I bring Hayli?”

“Of course, but never...” My hands run up her back pushing her face closer to mine. “Ever...joke about that shit Jovi. What do I say?”

A gasp comes out of her as my fingertips grip into her flesh. “You don't like to share...”

“No...” I bite her bottom lip gently, which causes her to moan. “I.” Repeating the action I add a lick. “Don't.” Roughly I shove my tongue against hers, staking my claim on her mouth.
