Vemenomous is completely concentrating on what he is doing and is not paying attention to see that behind him appears a party of seventeen elves, dwarves, and Logantrance. They waste no time and attack with everything they have. Shastenbree and Kearsebe flank Vemenomous to his back left. Glimtron and Rifter flank to the back right of Vemenomous, and all four start to shoot their Foarsbleem bows and ax at Vemenomous. The arrows tear through Vemenomous, leaving holes in his wings and wounds in his body. All the magic users fan out, widening from one another, and all of them are casting magic. This is unbelievable. Blythgrin, Grenlew, Trybill Tunull, Whenshade, and Logantrance are blasting Vemenomous with lightning bolts, magic missiles, fireballs, Blades of Sharpness, and disruption spells. This is a fantastic sight. Vemenomous is being burned, exploded, electrocuted, and thrown through the air with blood, flesh, scale, and skin, exploding and flying from his body with all kinds of sparkling red, blue, and white lights. For now, Elkwar, Cellertrill, Silgeqwee, Krimzill, Reger, and Dormins just stand in back of the bow users and magic users, watching as they are obliterating Vemenomous. Vemenomous cannot act. He is continuously bombarded with spells and arrows, preventing him from making any attacks or casting any magic of his own. He is blasted back and flies far back from Vegenrage’s home, landing out in the grass, a bloody mess. Torn and shredded, he has just enough strength to stick the staff into the ground, and as all the magic users reach the top of Vegenrage’s home, the earth shakes and splits. A bright white light shines up brightly, sending everyone spinning through the air, landing a quarter of a mile away. The Staff of Magic Engulf sucks the white light into the mouth of the staff, and the head of Persen turns and looks to Vemenomous who has been absolutely blasted to bits. Persen shoots the white light from his mouth, hitting Vemenomous, and he begins to heal. His muscles that have been torn and ripped apart begin to form. His ribs come back together, and all his skin and scales fly from the earth where they rest and form back into their normal place on Vemenomous’s body. Slowly, he is put back together, and by the time all the magic users have regained their stance and come back toward Vemenomous, he has healed completely.

Logantrance, Oriapow, and Blythgrin have made their way to Vegenrage and Farrah. “Oriapow, Blythgrin, this is the Sapphirewell and the Octagemerwell. Can you get Vegenrage out of here? Can you get back your jewels?”

Blythgrin scratches his forehead looking at the fused jewels. “I don’t know, Logantrance.”

Oriapow does the same. “I don’t know either. I don’t know what he has done to the jewels to make them melt all around Vegenrage like this.”

The white light grows brighter and brighter as the hole in the earth above Vegenrage’s home grows bigger and wider until the entire width of his home is exposed. The walls outlining his home covered in books begin to spin, and the fireplace in the center begins to rise and grow until it is flush with the top of the spinning walls. Vemenomous walks toward the opening in the earth, saying “It is happening. It cannot be stopped now.”

Glimtron runs around the mound right at Vemenomous, depressing the button on Glimtronian, releasing his deadly spear, and it penetrates right into the chest of Vemenomous and flies back to Glimtronian. Glimtron does this again and again, and Vemenomous cannot defend against this deadly weapon. Rifter has joined shooting his magical arrows at Vemenomous from Fearpierce. Shastenbree and Kearsebe have joined in as well, and again, Vemenomous is barraged with multiple arrows, causing him great damage. Tunull and Whenshade join in shooting fantastic magic at Vemenomous. The dwarves carrying the Fireod Four, for the first time, use their weapons, shooting multiple blades into Vemenomous, causing him great damage as well.

The other magic users are baffled as to how Vemenomous has captured Vegenrage in the two jewels, and they cannot draw from the strength of the jewels. They ponder for a few moments until the home of Vegenrage swirls in circles, very fast, and the light is becoming very bright, shooting up and out of his home. All the books begin to swirl around into the air, and the fireplace rises. All the books spin closer and closer together, forming and gelling into one book that falls heavy onto a podium that rises from the center of the fireplace. The book opens about halfway, and it is a very thick brownish yellow-colored book. The book opens, and Vemenomous extends his arms and wings out wide, which are being pelted along with his body by arrows, missiles, and magic, and he seems not to care at all, yelling “Master.”

CHAPTER 26
Zevoncour Rises

Logantrance, I do not know how to get him out of the jewels. I cannot summon any strength from the Octagemerwell. Blythgrin, can you do anything with the Sapphirewell?”

“I can do nothing, Oriapow. I cannot even feel the strength of the Sapphirewell anymore. What about Farrah? Can we get her out of the trance she is under?”

Logantrance is able to pick Farrah, and as he grabs hold of her, Vemenomous yells, “That is far enough, magic users!” Vemenomous grabs the Staff of Magic Engulf with both hands, raising it over his head and staking it into the ground forcefully. “I call upon Zevoncour to rise. Rise, Zevoncour. The time of our uniting has come. Rise, Zevoncour.” The head on the staff splits down the center and rolls outward and down. A bright red and yellow light shoots up into the heavens, and Vemenomous is still being pelted with arrows and magic that he pays no attention to. Vemenomous straddles the staff, and the light from the staff goes out. The top of the staff grows four blades that start to spin incredibly fast, and the staff rises, grinding, turning, and consuming Vemenomous. This looks to be the most painful way to die imaginable. Vemenomous is ground up like he is in a blender, and all of his ground-up body is sucked into the staff. When he is gone, the staff closes at the top and shoots straight up into the heavens, falling back like a missile, hitting dead center of the
Wogenkeld
. The staff disappears in the book that ripples like it is made out of water, and the book closes.

Everyone rushes to meet Vegenrage. Logantrance is holding Farrah who is lying unconscious in his arms. “I will get Vegenrage out of that prison. Everyone, stand back.” Glimtron runs in with Glimtronian behind him and swings hard at the blue and green statue of Vegenrage. His ax strikes hard and stops dead on impact. Nothing happens, and he swings again. The jewel starts to crack down the center where the two colors meet, and Glimtron strikes again. The jewels start to crack more, and Glimtron strikes again. The jewels start to crack all throughout, and everyone stands back, watching as the jewels start to crack, making loud cracking noises. The ground starts to shake, and everyone is shaken to the ground. Vegenrage’s home starts to close around the podium, and the land becomes flush with the entire plane, the only structure now being the podium with the newly grown pine trees off to the side of where Vegenrage’s home was. The
Wogenkeld
is still sitting on top of the podium. The emerald and sapphire around Vegenrage falls to the ground in many shards. All the pieces of the Sapphirewell and the Octagemerwell float over to the podium and start to circle in the air around the
Wogenkeld
.

“Logantrance, Vegenrage is unconscious, but he seems to be okay. What should we do?”

“Everyone, we have to protect Vegenrage and Farrah. Whatever is going on here, they are the key, and we cannot let this evil have them.” Everyone bands around the two unconscious humans that have been laid side by side and watch as the jewels circling around the
Wogenkeld
begin to shoot into the book, one blue shard, then one green shard, and so on. This happens over and over again, faster and faster, until all the jewel shards have been absorbed by the
Wogenkeld
. The book ripples like it is made out of water as all the shards fly into the book and disappear. There is a moment of silence, and Vegenrage and Farrah lay motionless on the ground. Oriapow and Logantrance start to use all their magical know-how to revive the two of them.

“You two better work fast. Something is happening over here. Something is going on with the book.”

“We are trying, Cellertrill. You all watch, and anything that shows itself, destroy it. Actually, destroy the book. Destroy it now.”

“Okay. You guys wake them fast.” Blythgrin and Whenshade stay to help revive Vegenrage and Farrah, while all the others approach the podium and the book that is flipping through the pages. They start shooting arrows and all types of magic at the podium and book, but all the attacks stop short like there is some sort of very powerful force field protecting the book and podium. Even the Foarsbleem weapons fall short of making contact with the book. The sky above the approaching elves and dwarves opens up, and Cormygle flies from a different dimension with Xanorax riding on his back. Xanorax has completely transformed into a demon lieutenant. He is wearing black leather pants. His skin is completely red and leathery with all kinds of scars on him. He still has long straight black hair, and his eyes are a deep and beautiful shade of blue. The Life Stealer is outlined on his body in black, making it very visible, and he wears no shirt, showing off what looks like a big black tattoo on his chest, abdomen, and arms. Xanorax jumps from the back of Cormygle and does a somersault in the air, landing right in front of the podium. Cormygle swoops down at the elves and dwarves, casting dancing lightning bolts from the bottom of his wings as he glides over the top of them. The lightning bolts slide down the length of his wings, shooting down to the ground as they slide down from the inside of his wings out to the ends and finish by shooting from the tips of his wings into the ground. Dirt and debris fly all around, exploded from the ground, and everyone takes cover from this devastating spell. Reger, Dormins, Elkwar, and Trybill take direct hits and are burned and electrocuted to death. Silgeqwee, Krimzill, and Cellertrill use their Foarsbleem weapons, masterfully blocking the lightning bolts, deflecting them back into the air. Grenlew is fast enough to cast a blocking spell that deflects some of the bolts back into the air as well. Everyone else recovers and releases all they have at the dragon, thwarting his next swoop at them. Xanorax reads a passage from the
Wogenkeld
as Cormygle has the attention of the others and reaches his hand into the book all the way to his elbow and pulls from it a staff. Again, the staff has changed. The Staff of Barrier Breath became the Staff of Magical Engulf, and now it has become the Glass Staff of Demon Uprising. Cormygle makes another dive for the elves and dwarves and finds out that the ax Glimtron has is very powerful. Glimtron points his ax and shoots its spear, and it hits Cormygle right in the neck, slicing a deep wound right through the right side of his neck. Rifter hits him with three of his magical arrows that leave deep bleeding wounds in his belly, and Shastenbree and Kearsebe hit him with Foarsbleem arrows that stick, leaving painful wounds as he has to retreat to the air. Cormygle is accomplishing his task, which is to give Xanorax enough time to raise Zevoncour. Xanorax raises the Glass Staff of Demon Uprising in the air and reads another passage from the
Wogenkeld
, and the ground starts to shake again. Everyone, even Xanorax, is shaken to the ground, and then the shaking stops. Cormygle swoops to the ground, and Xanorax mounts, and they take to the air and watch. Logantrance is desperately shaking the shoulders of Vegenrage, trying to wake him, as is Oriapow with Farrah, but they are completely subdued by some powerful magic. The others drag Reger, Dormins, Elkwar, and Trybill back with the others to see if any of them can be saved. It is too late for all except for Trybill who can be magically brought back.

“Logantrance, Oriapow, we cannot damage the podium and the book at all. Not only that, but that dragon and demon on its back seem to be protecting the book as well.” Oriapow calms Glimtron, while Logantrance continues to try and wake Vegenrage.

Logantrance is concentrating and finally realizes that Vegenrage is wearing Behaggen. He grabs the Bag of Holding. “Behaggen, I know you can hear me. Behaggen, bring Vegenrage back from this magic. He needs you. We all need you.”

Behaggen comes to life. “Well, it is about time, Logantrance. You know I needed you to call upon me. I can only exact free will with my master.”

“Behaggen, can you bring him and Farrah back?”

“Yes, give us room.” Everyone moves back a step, and little white lightning bolts emanate from the gold rope around Vegenrage’s waist to his body and some extend over to Parnapp. Vegenrage starts to move and slowly comes to. Parnapp does the same for Farrah, and she slowly awakens as well. Vegenrage and Farrah sit up and regain their composure just as two arms reach out from the
Wogenkeld
. Blood starts to spray up and out from the book as the arms pull up, and out from the book comes, dripping blood, the head, shoulders, torso, and body of Zevoncour. Cormygle glides down and lands by the podium to its right side. Zevoncour walks over to the dragon, and Xanorax hands him the Glass Staff of Demon Uprising. Zevoncour turns to face everyone as Vegenrage and Farrah stand. Zevoncour is yet another fantastic vision of demon strength, power, and gore. He is bloodred, still soaked in the blood of his victims. He is eight feet tall with a horn that grows up from the top of his head and slopes backward down to a point. This is a very unusual horn and unmistakable. He has human form, and of course, he is ripped to the max, looking absolute as demon master of all the Maglical System inner realms.

Logantrance walks toward him. “Zevoncour, the master of all demons. This cannot be. You cannot set foot outside of the inner realms, or your power will be useless. You cannot be here, demon. Go back to your hell and leave us be.”

“This was true until now, Logantrance. You see this?” Zevoncour holds up the Glass Staff of Demon Uprising that is no longer wood but is now glass. It is full of a red liquid. “You know what is in this glass staff, Logantrance? This is the blood of Vergraughtu, Vemenomous, and Persen. Vemenomous was Vergraughtu, the dominant dragon of the Maglical System, who bowed to the demons and sacrificed his soul to become the first Demonian Dragon, the new species of dragon that will rule the Maglical System and reign supreme. In exchange for this role as supreme being for a thousand years, he, in turn, gave me the blood of the dragon fused with the blood of Vlianth. Zevoncour crushes the head on the glass staff with his hand that now looks like Vemenomous. He sinks his left hand a foot into the
Wogenkeld
that is open and pours the blood from the staff into his mouth, drinking it all. He pulls his hand from the
Wogenkeld
and extends both hands in the air. “It is done. I have drank the blood of dragon, Vlianth, and the creator of the staff in Vlanthis from the newly created Glass Staff of Demon Uprising, previously the Staff of Magic Engulf and before that the Staff of Barrier Breath, while my hand was in the true
Wogenkeld
. I now have the power to walk freely on the outer realms with all my powers intact, and nothing can change this now.” Zevoncour laughs with blood dripping from his mouth. “Let me introduce you to my first lieutenant.” He points to Xanorax. “Some of you may already know Xanorax. Of course, he now is much prettier than he used to be and his magnificent steed, Cormygle. Now let me introduce you all the new dragon leader of the Maglical System in his true form—Vemenomous, the first Demonian Dragon.”

“Stop! I am Vegenrage, and this is my home. You think you can come here and invite, create, and incite some sort of demon uprising? Some sort of way for demons to walk on the outer realms just so you can create the chaos that is hell here among the living? But I don’t think so.” Vegenrage walks toward Zevoncour and levitates up in the air. He holds his hands out and shoots magnificent gold and yellow lights from both hands that hit Zevoncour right in the chest, and he flies back to the end of the plane, landing hard, digging deep into the ground. Zevoncour held on to the
Wogenkeld
and the Glass Staff of Demon Uprising. He leaps up from the dug-out earth. He throws the
Wogenkeld
in the air and then throws the empty Glass Staff of Demon Uprising that hits the
Wogenkeld
and disappears into it. The book spins very fast for a minute then falls to the ground.

Cormygle gets a mean look on his face and leaps to the air. He flaps powerfully, heading right for Vegenrage. Farrah jumps and flies toward Vegenrage, pointing her hands at Cormygle, and shoots her Dragonslaying Hands at Cormygle. Farrah’s spell hits Cormygle to his left side, just below Xanorax, and he is sent flying back, crashing through the pine trees, and landing hard on the ground, rolling to a stop. Farrah flies up next to Vegenrage with a smile on her face. “Thought you could use a hand.”

Vegenrage smiles. “Ready to take out some demons?”

“Oh yeah. Dragons too.”

“I will get Zevoncour. Can you handle Cormylge and Xanorax?”

“No problem.”

The
Wogenkeld
opens up, and the hands of Vemenomous reach out of it and pull out the body of Vemenomous. He has actually shrunk in size. He is now fifteen feet tall but stockier and a deep flame red color. He has yellow throughout his body that looks like it was spray-painted on him in the form of flames. He is sleek and strong-looking. His whole body is patterned in scales, but they are not scales. His skin is actually a thick rubbery flesh. This is his new demon skin. His head is still flat with very pronounced eyes, and he has strong wide wings. His elbows and knees are very well pronounced, looking like hard rock instead of bone under his skin. His has solid muscle flexing and bulging with every movement. He looks to Zevoncour. “Master, it is done. The demons can now walk on the outer realms.”

“Yes, Vemenomous, it is done. We have Vlianth, and all the strongest fighters and magic users are here just as planned. The female you have chosen to bring forth your offspring is here as well.”

Vegenrage lands about fifteen feet in front of Zevencour and Vemenomous and swings his hands from his hips toward them. He is unleashing the same disintegration spell that he destroyed Simtap with. This spell is so unbelievably powerful. He has them both in the spell, and they cannot escape once caught by it. Vegenrage is groaning with the look of power and determination. Vemenomous and Zevoncour instinctively raise their arms and hands to protect their faces. The earth is grinding away at their feet. The air even looks like it is melting in the wave of disintegration. Their arms start to melt and grind away, along with their knees. Their stomachs start to sand away, and they are moments away from being erased from existence.
