“Yes. I must spend eternity with you. I trust you Royce to teach me to be the kind of immortal you are.”

“I need no special dispensation from the government to turn you. I’m one of the few who don’t. This change is forever. You can never go back Beth Ann.”

“I will still be me and I will still love you and together we’ll do what’s right,” she said touching his face.

He took his wrist to his mouth and bit down. He opened the vein and let his blood seep onto his skin. “For you,” he whispered.

She took his wrist to her lips and closed her eyes. When her lips touched him, he gasped. It had been years since anyone fed off him. “Drink my beauty, drink from me and become part of me for an eternity.”

She’d but need a few ounces to complete the transformation. He’d lay in bed with her and he’d make sure he was there when she woke up changed and new.

Once she finished her lethal drink, her breathing became slow and almost stopped. It would take hours before she would awaken a vampire. She’d walk in daylight in a few months, inheriting his acceptance of the sun. Everything about her would be enhanced and so would her love. Together they’d enforce the law.

He let her rest next to him as his mind wandered to Lucinda and her warlock. He’d heard the rumors. They’d had their suspicions that there was indeed an underground ring of fresh new body parts for those who refused to conform. But he’d look into that tomorrow when the day was new and Beth Ann was reborn. They’d take care of business all in good time.

The beginning…

Next….Warlock…Lucinda and Jared’s story.
