"Corey's
coming around. I think he'll finally stop being a jackass to you."

"Yeah
well, can't win them all."

"It
is important to me you both get along. You are the most important
people in my life."

He
wrapped his arms around her and rested his head on her shoulder. "All
right, if it's important to you, I'll try harder."

She
smiled and rubbed her cheek against his. He kissed her cheek then
wrapped his lips around her earlobe and tugged gently. She giggled.
He traced his lips down her neck, and slid his hands over her
breasts, already heavy in readiness for their new life.

Not
having sexual relief was making him a little insane. Before last
week, when he invited her to sleep in his bed, at least he had space
to masturbate. Now he didn't have that anymore. It wasn't a

She

then two months of us living together. That's almost six months

"I

"That's
one way of doing it." She lowered her gaze. "I have another

He

she stepped back. His heart sank as he took in the apprehensive look

Tony
stepped back from Chris and gathered all her strength. She grabbed

"You
aren’t the only one who hasn't had sex in six months, Chris."

He
stood stone still. His gaze traveled over her breasts, then her face

"They've
gotten a little bigger with-"

She put her hands behind her back and intertwined her fingers, not
sure of what to do or say.

He
pulled her close. "It's okay, you didn't do anything wrong. We
may have to do this a few times to get it right."

"I'm

"It's
not a character fault, sweetie." He rubbed her arms while he
looked down at where their bodies met. "So I've heard pregnancy
makes your nipples more sensitive. Is that true?" He brushed his
knuckles over her already erect nipples.

She
sucked in a breath as she felt his touch go straight to her core. She
was looking forward to this satisfaction. Every night she slept in
the same bed with him had tightened her nerves until she was ready to

He

unbuttoned her jeans and pulled them off her legs. She closed her
eyes and wanted to cover herself from his hot gaze.

He

He
lifted his head. "Let me check." His body wormed its way

He

tried to sit up. "Chris, really? Please." She grabbed at

He

"I don't know if can do this properly the first time."

He
started to push his underwear away. Suddenly he froze. "Do you
want to use a condom?"

looked at him. Had he gone crazy? "I can't get pregnant again."

"Yeah,
but infections and the like."

She
thought about this for a moment. "You told me months ago you
were clean."

"I
am. I checked again over the summer."

"I
trust you. I wouldn't be here if I didn't."

He
slipped his body over top of hers, resting his weight on his elbows.
"I can't promise this time will be good for you. I'll last
longer later."

"After
that, I don't think I can complain."

His
face was tight with control as he entered her slowly. He stopped once
he was fully inside to kiss her. “I forgot how good you feel.”

Tony
ran her hands over his back. “Me, too.” She raised her
hips to meet his, pushing him further in.

“
You’re
making it hard to go slow.”

“
Who
says you need to go slow?”

“
I
wanted it to last longer than five minutes.”

“
It’s
not the only time we’re going to do this tonight.”

That
made him smile. He started moving inside her. Slowly then faster,
finally, driving into her. She matched his movements, feeling
pressure build within her. She buried her face in his shoulder to

Tony
laughed as he sat on the edge of the bed. He looked over his

I get you a book while we recover or should I run us a bath?”

I
am in the middle of a great book.” She tried to keep a straight
face. “Although, you can wash the places I can’t reach.”

He
didn’t hesitate before heading to the bathroom and starting the
water.

Chris
felt the post-sex bliss slip away. He wanted to do that again. ASAP.

Tonya
looked blissful. He needed to take advantage of her guard being down.
He knew she didn’t deliberately hide her feelings. It was a
carefully crafted facade.

“
Can
I ask you something?”

“
What?”
she asked without moving.

“
What
happened when I left in the spring? Why did you ignore me?”

Her
entire body tensed. He stroked her back.

“
We
said we knew it would end. That our fling was just a fling. You
didn’t want to commit and I couldn’t ask.”

“
What
about what we said about waiting for each other?”

“
I
thought that was a joke. You weren’t serious were you?”

“
You
didn’t give me a chance to decide. To talk to you about it.
Before you stopped taking my calls, I had put things in motion to
come back to the city. For you.” He nudged her with his knee.

She
looked up at him. “Why didn’t you?”

“
You
effectively dumped me, and I thought you didn’t like me. So
went to Kelowna to mope and regroup. When I signed my contract, I
decided I’d never talk to you again. The following week I
decided to hunt you down and seduce you. I hadn’t set my mind
on which option was best.”

She
ran a hand over her belly. “And in the end, our hands were
forced.

“
Not
really. We could have walked away. I want to be with you. I want to
raise a family. A couple more babies after this.”

“
How
many have you imagined having?”

“
I
dunno. Four or five. You liked your job as a nanny. Doing that for
your own kids has to be better, right?”

“
I
guess we are going to find out. I’m not going to commit to five
children. Let’s deal with this one.”

His
heart thumped so hard he thought it might explode. He doubted she
realized that they’d committed to a long-term plan. He would do
everything in his power to keep her.

“
We
should get some sleep.” He pressed a kiss the top of her head,
hoping she didn’t see the stupid grin on his face. “I
have activities planned for tomorrow that might be tiring.”

“
I’m
not sure I could fall asleep. Can we talk a bit more?”

“
About
what?”

“
Tell
me about your siblings. What was it like growing up?”

He
shifted his body. “Loud, busy.” He tried to pick a
specific memory that summed up his experience. “Okay, I’ll
tell you about one summer vacation.”

Tonya’s
eyes never left his face while he talked. By the end of the story,
her eyes began to droop. And after three stories, she fell asleep.

He
cradled her against his body. His eyes felt a little more damp than
usual, as his chest filled with joy once more.

This
is the rest of my life, he thought. She was the rest of his life.

He
stroked her arm while kissing her. With one hand, he cradled her body
against his. Her bottom against his pelvis might make it difficult to
sleep. But she fit perfectly into his arms.

"I
love you," he whispered, feeling sleepiness take hold.

He'd
have to find a way to show her soon. A way to tell her. Because
saying it felt inadequate.

Tony
jolted out of her sleepiness when Chris put his arms around her. She
was hiding in the corner in the after-game party room.

He
looked wide eyed, maybe even wild-eyed. She wanted bed. She usually
went to bed early. Pregnancy and school were taking their toll.

She
ran her fingers over the stubble on his chin. She loved the slight
scratch on her hand or on her inner thigh. Even against her face, for
a short period.

In
the weeks since they'd become lovers again, she'd grown to enjoy the
differences in their bodies. And she found it was harder to sleep
when he wasn't in her bed.

"You
need to be home in bed," he said in her ear.

She
shivered, but let her eyes slide close and her body lean against him.
"Maybe. You’ll probably be up half the night." After
a game, he had trouble sleeping. Even sex didn’t calm him
enough. He needed to get out for the evening and blow off some steam.

"A
bit more exercise and I'll sleep like a baby.” He leered at
her.

She
pressed her hands into his chest. "I think, you should go out
with your friends."

"Teammates."

"Same
thing."

"You're
okay with that? After I get you home?”

She
slid her hand around to the back of his head and pulled him down for
a kiss.
